I got two pints of Punk for 6quid during happy hour. You really can't complain about that! Therefore a good place for a cheap pint before a gig at the Uni. Can't review the accommodation as we just went for a pint

Came in with a friend for a couple pints o punk ipa, it’s had a refurbishment and has a great atmosphere even has a working upright piano. We had a right laugh with some of the bar staff in a mini pool tournament! Love this place will certainly be coming back.

Brilliant door man and bar staff but TONY the door man was aggressive and racist but further to my knowledge he's been sacked now ! Brilliant night apart from him !

Been in several times since reopening post lockdown. Much improved atmosphere since reverting back to a live music venue rather than being dominated by sports. Staff were super friendly and accommodating and prices very competitive. No longer serves food but welcomes you to bring your own or order takeout which I took advantage of both during a visit with adults and a visit with my two children on another occasion. Cutlery, serviettes and condiments were provided and staff happily cleared away our rubbish afterwards. I shall definitely be returning!

Friendly staff and a great atmosphere!

Ridiculously noisy. I mean they say something in the website that the hotel might be noisy, so you are aware, but honestly just saying “noisy” is just taking the piss. The hotel has a techno music club on the ground floor. I was in a room on the second floor and it was just crazy. The play techno music from 11pm to 2 am. I had earplugs and even with that it was impossible to sleep as the floor, the mattress , everything vibrates on top of the music also. I really do NOT recommend this place unless you are planning to go out clubbing both Friday and Saturday and not coming back till 4 am or you do like techno music and want to be at the party downstairs.

Very good location, close to shops and restaurants. Room not large with a window that opens hard. Room neat and clean, good conditions. Pretty small bathroom. Good contact with the owner of the facility. Kindest and helpful staff at the reception. There is a bar downstairs so sometimes loud abut you can spend the evening with a great atmosphere. Mi novia y yo desayunamos aquí. Estaba contento con mi comida, tomé el desayuno Be Good, aunque los hongos estaban un poco grasientos. Mi novia tomó el abundante desayuno vegetariano y lo encontró demasiado grasiento. Sin embargo, es un lugar relativamente nuevo y podría mejorar. Fue decepcionante para mí, sin embargo, que no hace recargas de café gratis. Especialmente cuando Cavendish a 2 minutos por el camino lo hace por el mismo precio. The Harley has been sold to a new owner and refurbished, so is now a completely different restaurant. It is much more expensive than it used to be, its food is now bland and boring, and its unique decoration and laid back atmosphere are now gone since it has turned into a sports bar. The nearby University of Sheffield Students union (which anyone can go to) has a similar bar (Bar One) if you want to eat at a sports bar, and the Bloomery in Broomhill is a much better sports bar if you are willing to go further away. I can't think of any reason why anyone would go here when there are better alternatives so nearby that have all of the same features but also better quality of food at a cheaper price.

The interior is much nicer since the refurb although the menu is no longer twisted burger company the food was ok but not as much choice as before, there's now full size screens everywhere you turn which isn't to everyone's taste!

Good food, pub has had a refurb

Decided to give this place a go as it's just reopened. Lovely interior well laid out and designed. Unfortunately there were only a half dozen people in very disappointing, decent bar but no real ale on show. Really hope things improve.

This was the first time I'd been to the Harley since it's been renovated. Every wall is dominated by huge TV screens that are on all the time. For my first hour there with a friend, an alarm was going off nearly all the time. No effort was made to communicate with customers about this. Staff stood around chatting as if nothing was happening. The food was very poor, and there were only two hand pumps. Before the change of ownership the food and drinks were a lot more interesting. There were only a handful of customers dispite the festive season. The staff gave the impression that they weren't concerned if you were there or not. The Harley was a place that I've been visiting for years, but I shan't be going again.

Newly refurbished great place to have a drink and meet friends. Also they do food.

Strongbow £2 per pint. What's not to love? It's certainly much better since it's refurbishment. Worth the walk up from West Street.

Popped in one weekday lunchtime with Colleagues. Great young lads serving, super efficient and friendly. Extensive, varied, reasonably priced menu, with great lunchtime offers on. Was offered 25% off my entire food & drinks bill, if I had an NUS card, which I did, thank you very much 😄 Great pulled pork burger, with cheese and salad and a wonderful bbq sauce.... served with fries, pickles and a burger mayo. Great clean, refurbished venue with lots of seating and a cool vibe. I’ll definately be returning 👍🏼

Refurb is amazing, the food, service and staff are fabulous

This really depends on what type of person you are but in comparison to how the Harley used to be, the food is worse but it does look nicer, although it is now just like any other pub, but of course they had to change the way the pub was handled as it shut down before. There used to be live music which was fun if you were attending but not for the hotel stayers. Because of this I give it 3 stars now.

Popped in with a business colleague after being served two absolutely rank pints at The Doctor's Orders up the road (see review). Good to see the Harley back on the scene; don't dine in pubs but menu decent and atmosphere OK. Just need good doorstaff to keep out the riff-raff who think they are ''it'' drifting up from West Street late on a Saturday night ;)

Hotel : Visité en Hiver, resté trois semaines et le chauffage de la chambre ne fonctionnait pas. Le lit n’était pas super confortable Pub / Restauration : Les meilleurs English BreakFast. L’ambiance pub était très traditionnelle et agréable. Excellente musique de fond au RDC. Urinoirs customisés façon « street art » mais très sales

There are only two words to describe this place they are dirty and disgusting when we got here the receptionist was rude to us then when we got to the room the key didn't even fit the lock then when we finally got in the room it was just purely disgusting it was old unclean musty shower wasn't working toilet was blocked TV also didn't work wiered steins on the ceiling floor walls and the bed to it felt very eerie we kept hearing wiered noises outside the room like loud bangs and music missing light from ceiling curtains looked like they had definitely seen better days. Only stay here if you have absolutely nowhere else to stay.

Clean, very cumfy bed, good location, friendly staff. Delish food in the pub downstairs inc 20% discount! Cheap hotel, get what you pay for! Have music on dowstairs at night, but not really a problem as get free entry to all events anyway. Would recommend for a cheap place in center definitely.

Visited as a couple in March, had food and drinks, the meal was very average, aside from the poutine which was excellent but unfortunately cold. When we went to pay our tab we were informed there was a ten pound charge per person for the live band who had serenaded us with their warm up and mic checks during our food. We debated this and were argued with the already inattentive bar staff. Beer selection also extremely limited. Avoid at all costs.

When they say it's loud in the other reviews, they actually mean the bass is so loud that your room will shake. If you like to sleep before 4am, don't go here. The beds are reasonably comfy, but the bathroom has no ventilation and I don't think any staff had said the word bleach near the toilet

Does what it should do.... Without trying to hide anything

Stayed on the 17th. November had a fantastic time they say the music is loud. Well I loved it room basic but staff friendly deffo stay again.

Brought drinks and asked to leave unless we paid 5 pounds to watch the turn. We went home.

We visited The Harley with two Uni students who had been before. We had a mix of kids, students and “grown ups”, including a coeliac, a dairy intolerant and a vegan. There was plenty of choice for us all and our waitress was super helpful, double-checking ingredients with the chef to make sure they were safe for us. Prices were very reasonable, the drinks and servings generous and the atmosphere fun and friendly. We will definitely return to try more of the interesting food choices.

Dirty and run down stay clear till they refurb

Quick sip in an old watering hole, just down from the Uni and not changed radically, although Sheffield has in twenty years!

On arrival, we were handed our keys and were told that the bar area might be noisy 'until 4am'. Shrugging this off, we dropped our bags off in our rooms - dated, minimalist, but clean and with an en suite bathroom. For the price you really can't quibble with that. We enjoyed a quiet pint and burger (recommended) before heading out. We arrived back at 2am to one of the loudest Grime nights I have ever experienced in my life, still absolutely in full flow, and promptly abandoned sleeping in favour of cheap cocktails. If not sleeping until 4.30am due to apocalyptic partying sounds good to you, I can promise it's exactly as good as it sounds. If it doesn't, you were warned!

A nice cosy room for a reasonable price. Well located close to the centre of Sheffield.

Having worked on the Uni Campus for 10+ years I'd never been in here for a bite to eat before, only popped in for a drink now and then... I've been missing out! The burgers are delicious, so much to choose from. A group of 8 of us went at lunchtime and were greeted by the waitress going through their extensive drinks menu, and went to a lot of trouble to go through the options on the food menu... it was nice to have table service in a bar. Would definitely go back - think we are going to make it a regular/ monthly treat during our lunch breaks.

Very loud music, wasn't made clear. Not a wink. 8f travelling for business do not go on a Thursday Friday or Saturday night. Very loud bassy music until 4am. Even with earplugs it was ridiculous. Facilities were okay. But for £45 and no sleep. I'm not best pleased.

Impossible to sleep with that much noise until 4:00 am. It's like being inside the disco. The whole building vibrates, so earplugs (only solution they offered in the reception) are not helpful. The place isn't suitable for human habitation. Don't go unless you are desperate.

First time eating here and I'm not disappointed. They offer a good selection of all types of food, meat, vegan and vegetarian. They also allow dogs in which is always a bonus. We both had the Falafel burger with chips which was lovely. Nice big portions too. Will definitely be back

Not the best place I've stayed to be honest. Got told a band playing Thursday night and there will be some noise but only till 4am....

You couldn't possibly sleep when your toenails feel like they're gonna jump out my toes with the vibrations from disco straight downstairs until 4am , literally felt like I was laying on top of the speakers on the loudest show/concert . Not to mention the disgusting ceiling, specially in the bathroom , which didn't have a working light (asked them to change the bulb and that was never done) so we had to use our phone's flashlight or with the door open, ridiculous! The bed had a knife cut and a blood stain ! There was also two screws on the wall above the bed , if you were to sit on the bed against the wall, or bang your head by accident that could leave you in a pretty bad shape...

Absolutely horrible. DO NOT GO THERE!

Has a cool tattoo parlor look about the place. There's a free to use foosball table which is a lot of fun. Food is mostly greasy meat with greasy vegan alternatives.

This is the noisiest hotel I have ever been to as there is a bar downstairs. My problem is not the bar, but the fact that you are not told about it on the website. You do not find out till you have already made the reservation and have gotten here, therefore you are left woth. O other option but to accept. This is very unethical. The bar situation should be explained on every website which advertises this hotel so customers are aware beforehand.

Only bar open until 4am, was great to find after some bad experiences in another bar called Washington which is nearby. Rounded off my night nicely thank you after West street live and Blu 88 for a smashing pizza

Booked two nights while my son was in the nearby children's hospital. Nice sized room on second floor, but room was in good need of a lick of paint and deep clean. However, for the price I did not expect the Hilton! Quite noisy at night as on a major road junction. Sainsbury Local just across the road. Limited on street parking in side road. Free from 8.30 pm to 8am and then £1 an hour.

We arrived at the pub very thirsty surveying drinks on offer. I asked for cider and they had the wonderful Stowford Press but nothing else, asked for white wine and they were out! The horror! Then like a silver superhero the landlord apologised and rushed back from the shops with a bottle of Pinot Grigio and gave it to our table complimentary! What an absolute legend. Great to see profiteering was not on the menu post brexit. The landlord went out of his way to accommodate us and had us roaring with laughter. Highly recommended. Also, check out the menu. Oh my god!

Made a late booking on a Saturday lunchtime for the night. Did it in a bit of haste without checking all the details. Wish I can say something positive about this studio flat apartment, but cannot find any. Below are the shortcomings: 1. The flat is above a hot food shop that opens overnight. We could hear people downstairs all night long until 6 am. 2. The flat is shrouded with smell of deep fat frying, not something really to our delight. 3. The room looks clean, but my wife found a dead cockroach in the bed. 4. No WIFI. 5. No TV. 6. There is a kettle but no tea or coffee as a standard hotel would offer. 7. The photo shown on the web is not where the flat is. The flat is 5 minutes drive away in a busy area at the edge of Sheffield town. 8. To access the flat, one has to go past the backyard of the food shop and walk up the metal stairs. Not a present view of a rather greasy, sticky and smelly backyard and the rear sight of the food shop through its opened door. 9. The full English/Irish included breakfast became a breakfast voucher of the value up to £4 and it was given as a courtesy, in contrary to what is described in the booking. 10. The main concern is in the event of a fire in hot food shop, it can spread to the apartment too easily. There is no second escape route apart from the metal stairwell leading back to the food shop backyard. Seriously doubt this property is fully complied with the fire regulations for commercial lettings.

Las hamburguesas aquí son geniales y hay una buena selección de cervezas y sidra. El único problema que he tenido con la Harley es el servicio puede ser terrible a veces. Nos estaban esperando las edades para servicio de mesa y nos dijeron que para sentarse cuando fuimos al bar (incluso para las bebidas). Para ser justos, el chico, que finalmente nos servía era realmente amable.
