Can only recommend the spa facilities and staff, as the restaurant experience was lacking. A member of restaurant staff was rude when we raised a query with him relating to to the drinks that we had ordered and he was rude again later when a genuine question was asked about the bill. The menu had run out of all dessert options except one (which quite frankly was not appealing). Whilst we appreciate supply chain issues these days, the meal had been booked for many weeks and you would expect a hotel of this standing to have some reasonable alterative to offer. No apology was made for this and no alternative/recompense offered (e.g. a cup of tea or coffee to end the meal). When providing feedback on check out, we were assured that a Food & Beverage Manager would make contact, they did not. The reception staff were only concerned with getting the settlement paid (despite the poor experience) with no apology for the shoddy service. We can only recommend this destination for a day spa break - as the staff and treatments were lovely.

My experience at the restaurant in Marriott hotel was extremely disappointing. The food, including the overcooked steak, chicken, pork belly, and even breakfast, left much to be desired. The service was seriously understaffed, adding to the overall letdown. The so-called Mojito was far from what it should be, lacking in taste and quality. Charging such a price for such poor quality is truly disgraceful. I strongly advise against booking the dinner package with your hotel room to avoid falling into this disappointing trap.

Fat. Fatty pork belly.. More fat than meat. Tiny portion. Salt. Cabbage so salty my husband could not eat it. He never leaves stuff but he did here! They didn't charge But I wanted to eat. Chef never came out. Manager never came out. What a disappointment! Wish we'd gone to the Beefeater. Will NEVER come here again.

Located in the Marriott Delta hotel with plenty of inside and out side seating backing onto an open field. Plenty of space but the style is very sterile lacks atmosphere but functional. The foods is ok but very plan, small portions and lacks presentation. The local beefeater or Toby is better. Had to return my battered squid as there was just bits of batter and the kitchen and serving staff thought that was ok to serve up. Pity as it was our wedding anniversary and was hoping for a good meal with some bubbles. A £100 could have been better spent else where. Easy access, plenty of parking with Toilets. Please like if this helped.

As I put finger to keyboard, I was relieved to see opposite, reviews which were more or less consistent with what I had in mind after a disappointing dinner. There are warning signs one should observe at any restaurant. The first for me was that of five burgers on a reasonably long menu, three were for vegetarians or vegans. Towards the end of the meal, the choice of ice cream was stated as 'vanilla, strawberry, chocolate'; this demonstrates a marked lack of imagination and an unhealthy yearning for the 60s. It was also wrong as shall be discussed. We were asked on arrival if we had booked which is probably routine but this large restaurant was nowhere near full and was not going to be. Which was just as well because it was minimally staffed. Chicken yakitori came in a pungent barbecue sauce possibly from one of the lower end supermarkets. Three small skewers were accompanied by a very small portion of proprietary coleslaw - probably from a tub. My partner's cod fishcakes were also dimensionally challenged and tasteless. Things looked up a little with the main courses but there could be no confidence that large elements had not come out of packets. As noted by a recent reviewer, couscous was bland. The kitchen obviously had no real feeling for food. The 'vanilla, strawberry, chocolate' response invariably infuriates me but I noted that apple tart comes with caramel ice cream. Accutely, I deduced that they additionally have caramel ice cream. I challenged on this very point and overcame the wavering waiter who would have loved to assert that it was served only with the apple tart and sent him scurrying to the kitchen before he experienced a crisis of faith. We both received versions of what we had ordered, the order having not been listened to properly. None of this was cheap. The Delta hotel is quite nice but, if you are staying there, don't bother with the restaurant.

What can I say? I had no expectation as to what the food would be like, as we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant on a whim. What a big mistake! I never complain in restaurants as I find it extremely awkward, however I can honestly say that this is one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten at, and I feel as though I have no choice but to be brutally honest My husband ordered the chicken cacciatore dish and said that it was tasteless and tough, the sauce looked and tasted like it was out of a jar, and the couscous was bland. I ordered the mac and cheese expecting something oozy goozy, finished in the oven with possibly a bread crumb/herby top - but what was presented to me was completely tasteless - more like a béchamel sauce, it was palid and just looked as the the sauce and pasta had been combined in a pan and dished out - no seasoning or any flavour. This all however pails into insignificance, as disappointed with the mac and cheese I asked for something else and ordered the baked camembert with bread. To my utter shock I was given a small-ish camembert with two teeny pieces of baguette toast -- not nearly enough for all that cheese (it was featured in the ‘sharing’ items.) It had been baked inside the original container on top of parchment that was so chard that black bits had fallen into the cheese, and after lifting it up I found the plastic that the camembert was originally packed in melted and burnt underneath! Needless to say I did not eat this. The caesar salad was simply lettuce, dressing and bacon, no croutons or ‘ciabatta’ as stated on the menu. They did not charge us for the camembert nor the mac n cheese, and the staff were friendly (although on several occasions they bought food/drinks to the wrong tables) and didn’t cause a fuss, which is the one good thing I can say. We liked the hotel, and had come mainly to use the spa and see local sights — but the restaurant let the experience (and the hotel) down.

With the name, you'd expect more from it but it wasn't great. As it's on site of the hotel you'd think it would be convenient but there was a long wait for food at both breakfast and dinner. Service was ok. There's some great local pubs nearby mind.

My partner and I have stayed at the Cheltenham Chase hotel a few times but have never tried their restaurant. We thought we would give it a chance on our most recent stay and we were both utterly disappointed. I had a Gammon steak that was swimming in oil, covered in chewy fat and an egg that was burnt on the bottom and slimy on the top. My partner had a chicken burger that was pink on the inside and one side was so dark we originally thought it was a beef burger instead until he cut into it and saw the pink, nearly cooked chicken. Will not be visiting again.

Based in the hotel it has a large menu of basic foods. The food is both well cooked and presented, however the waiting staff seem to be a little disorganised. Breakfast had a very limited cold buffet and the fruit selection was very poor. The full english was very good with a large selection, and I found it to be well cooked and tasty.

We had the Hotel package deal; The Evening meal; had limited choices and menu was the same as the bar(very poor). The package we had limited us to a set amount, not enough to have all three courses. The quality of the food was also poor, I had steak (med > WD) the edge very crispy (charcoal) and most bits where rare. It would not have been a problem if steak was thick, which it was not. Not as described no salsa but 2 mico tomatoes cut in half and some cress with what looked like butter with tin bucket of fries. Plate was hot Steak was tasteless. Don't bother with the wines over priced and poor quality. check your bill as somebody put some drinks against my table / room. Breakfast; Bacon and fried eggs where cold, beans and fresh eggs turned up 15 minutes after I sat down. I think the one thing that is still stuck in my mind is the state of the light shades in the restaurant as they had a couple of years of dead moths and flies in them. Supposed to be having company xmas do here, but now not sure I want to go.

Usual in-house restaurant to a fairly large hotel. Out of the four of us three mains were good but one was tasteless and most of it went uneaten. Restaurant manager was supportive and made allowances for this. Staff were excellent - see previous review.Breakfast was extensive and catered for all tastes with good selection of hot traditional Full English dishes. Wide range of cereals, breads and juices also on offer. All in all OK but it must be difficult when catering for such a large number to get everything right all the time.We would re-visit in the future, in spite of the slight disappointment over one meal.

Dinner was included for the first night of our weekend at the Cheltenham Chase so we made a reservation for 8pm.When we got to the restaurant there were about 10 tables full. We were seated promptly and given menus. Our starters came very quickly. Mine was chickpea fritters that were very tasty but that I would have been very upset to pay £5.50 for as there were four small fritters (this ping pong ball size) and four small pieces of carrot on the plate. We then waited for a while. The server came and took away the starter plates and also started to take away the butter and bread plates until I asked for bread which had never been offered to us. I shouldn't have bothered as it was stale. My main was a very good pork belly - no complaints there. The wine we wanted was out so we had a good bottle of Malbec which did the trick - at £24 it was a bit dear but to be expected in a hotel restaurant.I had ice cream for dessert which was good but I was a bit surprised to have not been asked which flavour I wanted.I wouldn't pay for a la carte here but as part of a package it was ok.

I would steer clear of Hardy's restaurant for your evening meal as we found this not to be value for money. We did point out to the waiters that the menu was dated for May & it was now July! Which got a response of they were in the process of up-dating the menu!On being shown to our table I asked the manager for a tourch to be able to read the menue as he had shown us to probably the darkest seats in the restaurant!I chose the prawn sundae which worked out at £1 per prawn at £6 and these were small prawns, not much bigger than my thumb nail! There is also a terminology issue, as I also ordered fish and chunky chips. However, they could only be called chunky chips if they were being compared to a French fry! A bottle of Zinfandel will cost you £25 so with two courses for you and your partner & sharing a cheese board at the end of the meal will cost you in access of £75. Really not worth it. A better option if you don't fancy driving & want a drink is the short walk to the close by Toby carvery, where for £75 I am sure you could have a very good night!

We were a party of 24, from 1 to 93 years old, staying at the Cheltenham Chase for a family get-together. We had the dinner, b&b option so we had an allowance of £26 each at the restaurant. That was about right if you avoided the steak (£25). There was plenty of variety on the menu but strangely there were no pork or lamb mains. We'd sent in our food choices in advance and it all worked out very well, with well presented and tasty food coming on time. The wine markup is rather steep, though. I'd found their basic Spanish red (£19.50) available for £4.98 retail. So, not the greatest in value terms but excellent staff and we all had a great time.
