Food is really well prepared using good quality ingredients. The restaurant is accessible to less mobile customers. The morning atmosphere and views were lovely. There is something for all ages and appetites. We will return.

This is our go to place in Littlehampton. There is a nice view over the river. Good food, with a lot of options. Great ice cream. And it is a good place for large or small groups of people.

Harbour Lights Cafe and staff have a fantastic reputation for being the best and they truly are We received a wonderful welcome, orders taken straight away and we sat at the window seat looking over the Harbour Our breakfast was brought to us on a hot plate and it looked wonderful. The sausages were excellent (not the catering rubbish) and as for the bacon - heavenly. The cafe is always clean. as are the toilet facilities It is such a pleasure to visit the cafe. Looking forward to returning soon 😀

We are not local but when down this way we always call in for a meal. Whats not to like. Great, hot, tasty food. Helpful and friendly staff. Always appears clean and a lovely location. Keep the standards up and we will continue to return.

I come here regularly and always get consistent and good service with high quality food. I had the big breakfast that comes with particularly tasty and well-cooked sausages/bacon. The portions are generous with a quick service delivering food to your table. On fair days, it is lovely to sit outside with my dog in the sun with views along the Arun river out to sea. There is a public car park a short walk away (£1.65 per hour). If you feel like being decadent then they serve fantastic scoops of ice cream which goes well accompanied by a large espresso. Risking being politically incorrect, they also have some charming (and very attractive) young ladies always present serving at the desk. What more could an old man ask for! One suggestion for further improvement, lets have sour dough toast as standard with the fry-up?

So goid we went twice !!! Blueberry Bakewell...... I want the recioe..... and had scampi and chips, we were tired and had as take out.... it was outstanding, tasty scampi utterly gorgeous chips , salad was gorgeous, will be back wish we'd are in. Loved it, totally lived it..... oh forgot to say hot chocolate a huge thumbs up, thank you

Had a cake and a coffee, bit expensive but worth it.

The ambience of this cafe is beautiful. A lovely, friendly service and truly amazing, very tasty roast dinner, finished off with a delicious chocolate dessert. The perfect evening out. Would highly recommend 👌🏻

I’m really disappointed they have started playing modern chart music at an annoying and intrusive volume. Won’t be visiting again until they stop doing that! Such a shame!

There is much food to choose from, if you just want a snack or a full meal. 4 of us were eating all plates clear at the end. Lovely views.

Lovely day sitting out front as the weather was good. Tea, scone and clotted cream were good.

Terrible service, went here had 3 harbour master burgers and a big breakfast, had 2 plates arrived harbour master burgers, we waited for the other 2 plates, they came over with a big breakfast which had scrambled egg and no hash brown, which I ordered the hash brown as a add on, then the 3rd harbour master burgers came over, which was a sandwich, I told them to take the big breakfast back and the sandwich as that's not what we ordered, I showed the receipt to prove it, so I told the other guess to eat there food as it was going to go cold, after 20 mins our plates come out, the harbour master burgers came out fine with nothing missing, my big breakfast came out with one sausage missing and they brung out a separate plate with my hash brown which i order as a add on, its like they forgot it, i wont be returning as there was no apology from the staff, the place is a joke rude staff

Harbour Lights is a great place for lunch. Ideally situated on the ground floor of the Look and Sea centre building with a clear view of the river estuary and the lifeboat station ramp. Deservedly popular and with plenty of seats available inside and out. An extensive menu and specials board. I had the hot and spicy salmon and prawn skewer from the specials with a very fresh salad and fries and a Moretti beer. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. And I spent less than £22 for a really good lunch.

Delicious fresh food. Scrambled eggs that were soft and moist, and bacon that is quality. Reasonable prices and a great view too

After much deliberating we went here for breakfast yesterday for my birthday (50th), service was excellent, polite and efficient, took our order with small adjustments to what the menu says. Food arrived in good time allowing for being freshly cooked. I had bigger breakfast with black pudding (triangular which I've never seen before) whilst it was not the cheapest you can get it was definitely worth the cost. Very pleased, couldn't find fault, does get quite busy but there is plenty of room. Will definitely return. Regards Jason moore

We came once for breakfast which was really good, sausages on the breakfast were yummy really good quality, only minor thing I would change is that the toast that came with the breakfasts was already buttered but would've preferred to have butter portions provided so we could have the option of if we wanted it buttered or not. Service was also friendly and quick even though it was busy in the morning. However when we came back in the evening for a drink the service was completely different seemed like the staff working behind the counter just couldn't be bothered and didn't want to be there, it was very quiet there was only one customer infront of me who was taking a very long time to order and one of the members of staff was standing at the other till just on their phone when they could've offered to take my order as they could see the person in front was taking a long time to order, was stood there for 20 minutes.

This is a fantastic place to eat and enjoy the river views, the food is always great, the staff are friendly and are always kept clean and tidy, would recommend to anyone 👌

Been here lots of times for coffee / cake / lunch. The food has always been nice and the cakes are yummy too. It gets very busy, meaning you can sometimes have to wait a while to be served or get food. Lovely location with plenty of outside tables too.

Lovely cafe in Little Hampton! We popped in here while we were visiting the Beach, Thankfully it wasn’t too busy and we were able to get a table outside. You pick your menus and cutlery on the side and then order your food and drink at the counter. The menu has an amazing selection, we went for the big breakfast & veggie breakfast. The food came very quickly and was perfectly done, it definitely hit the spot in the morning. We will be visit again to try more of the menu and enjoy the beautiful view!

When you order 4 meals you expect them to be served together. Our came out 10 mins apart. Also, don’t go for the seafood box, everything in it was so over cooked it was like chewing rubber! Very expensive too.

Lovely clean cafe with plenty of space, inside & out. Easy access for wheelchair users. Coffee was on the too cool side, but the food was lovely. Get the coffee hotter & it would be perfect.

Great value n v nice food and do nice to sit and relax watching boats cruise up and down the river Arun.

We only had sandwiches but they were good. We did have to send a pot of tea back but other than that it was ok. The specials board looked good.

Monday evening meal for the family so not a busy night. Food was excellent as was the service and such lovely views.

Visited as an impromptu lunch, first time although lived in area many years. Lunch by the river was a very pleasant experience. Food was amazing, with food quality ingredients and good portion size. Although food made to order there was hardly any wait despite the amount of customers. Would definitely recommend and will definitely re return.

A very well presented cafe , but service at the till very slow . The cappuccino I had was tepid ,should have returned it , but as other reviewers have said , queues !

On a short stay in Littlehampton we had breakfast at the Harbour Lights on three out of four mornings - it's that good. It's a spacious and modern building with plenty of excellent indoor and outdoor riverside seating with a beautiful view down the harbour and out to the open sea. Quality control is clearly important to the management and staff and our orders were consistently tasty and well presented from day to day. The coffee is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. We appreciated the attentive service at the till where staff take orders calmly and efficiently - none of the chatting to each other and blanking the customers that happens more and more these days - even when the queue is busy. The Harbour Lights is obviously popular with locals and visitors alike and it's easy to see why. Great experience.

Right on the waterfont with great harbour views. It can get very busy. Their secret is to actually cook food as opposed to opening a packet or getting something from the freezer. Fresh crab sandwiches are superb, as is the full English breakfast. Cheerful young staff whizz about to look after you. Plenty of outside seating.

Lovely situation. Lovely views. Although I did not have breakfast, it looked good. Coffee and wine/beer available. Always a wait in the queue to order! Don't go there if you are in a hurry or have time restraints. Ipdated: Last reviewed a year ago. Service hasn't changed from always needing to queue- doesn't seem to matter what time of day or staffing level. I had to queue for tap water... ! Some logistics can help streamline...for one put out jugs of water and keep glasses at tills to monitor if you must. Get one (fast) person on making the artisan coffees...steal someone from Costas ;-)...

Nice surprise to find a lovely cafe by the water to enjoy an ice cream, breakfast, brunch o lunch 😃 I only have an ice cream as we have already eaten but I saw few dishes and they looked great 😃I’ll definitely be there on day 😃

We come here most weeks for breakfast and the food is consistent and good quality. There is parking nearby and plenty of space even for our large dog. The only negative is the tables in the outside area are often quite dirty with remans of earlier diner’s food wedged between the slats. Somebody needs to pay special attention to cleaning this detritus out at least once a day before there is an outbreak of something nasty.

We visit West Sussex at least twice a year but always come here for a meal, usually their amazing fish pie, which is what we had on this occasion although their menu gives plenty of choice, very good value and excellent service. The staff were very pleasant and efficient, and collectively they presented a group with a very good team spirit. We will be back later in the year.

Went here with hubby for the first time We are looking for something closer to home for lunch when we have visitors. Service was great,food (breakfast) was OK but the building has so much echo it was difficult to hear each other properly. Hopefully when we go with visitors we can sit outside if the weather's good. We did notice some smokers sitting outside though so that might b a bit of an off put next time....we will have to wait and see.

If you like to convert pound coins into a wonderful plate*, decorated in wonderful food, in a wonderful chair placed inside a wonderful mastication arena, then you would be madder than an autumn kangaroo to forgo this wonderful establishment. You may look outside to the water and even sit outside and eat but not actually in the water, just beside it. Quite safe. Boats travel past the window on the mighty river Arun. Both directions are available to suit your preferred head swivelling direction. Do not feed the boaters as they may become aggressive. The seagulls, though, are quite gentle. I do like the toilets, very clean and a nice place to take a sit. I like the full English breakfast. You can eat all you want here too, just pay for what you eat, great times with others. I'll see you guys there soon? I can't wait. I highly recommend. *You are not permitted to keep the plate*

As pensioners we would rather eat out lunchtime...The harbour lights cafe, on the river Arun, Littlehampton is definitely one of our favourite lunch destinations....good food and drink, best ice cream in the UK! The manageress really has a knack of caring for her customers and the staff all seem happy to be there.......well done Pete and Betty

This a great location with good seating options, inside and outside. Food is varied and tasty. We visit regularly from Worthing.

Perfect position on the quayside with adjacent car park. This place can get very busy, but it does well priced grub, cooked in their kitchen. Full breakfast is excellent, as are their fresh crab sandwiches. Extensive menu. Sit outside in the sunshine and watch nautical life ebb and flow.

Lovely cafe, beautiful location, friendly staff and good service. I wasn't too impressed by the attitude of some of the other customers towards my Xl Bully who is in fact a gentle giant and was wearing his muzzle and has an exemption certificate, for a dog friendly cafe I was surprised by this ignorant attitude, especially towards a responsible dog owner who is following the law!

I’d never been to Littlehampton before, but inspired by the recent film - Wicked Little Letters - I popped in on my way back along the coast. It’s a nice little town and well worth a day trip. The beach is excellent with a few interesting cafes and restaurants along the harbour, including the Harbour Lights which is up at the town end of the harbour, just by the RNLI boat station. It’s obviously popular and quite busy. There is a very good choice of food and a specials blackboard. Several fish choices too. Homemade vibe. Reasonably priced. Will return over the summer. This town deserves a closer look.

Lovely place! We had 2 daily specialties, both dishes were delicious. Food was served so fast, I couldn’t believe our luck. We’ve also had lemon pudding, it was very good as well. Would deffo visit again, if in Littlehampton

Food faultless, staff attentive but the toilets are hideous! Shared facilities are never good but shared facilities with broken equipment, well that’s just awful.

Tipped into Harbour Lights just before the kitchen closed on Monday afternoon with three adults, child, baby, and a dog in tow. Food is delicious, my husband (who worked in a chippy as a young adult), praised the fish, which was delicious. Welcoming front of house team, cheerful chef, and Immaculately clean to boot. We will be back. Thank you.

Good food. However the coffee lets it down. The Black Americano has no crema (not enough machine pressure) and isn't hot ! (machine should be using boiling water).

This is a splendid place to eat all year round, whether you're coming here for a top notch ice cream with the kids or a sandwich with the dog or even dinner with the wife this place caters to everyone.

Clean, friendly with some unusual menu choices. Crisp, fresh salad, moist, spicy chicken, tender fish. Bright and airy and surprisingly good.

Varied menu, lots of specials, great views, nice to walk by the river after lunch.
