Just moved near to the pub, been in a few times with my friends and her dog.Throwing the ball for the dog (which is a support dog ) nobody said anything, if children or other dogs about the dog will be put on the lead , she is a support dog so no issues with anybody.Anyway in the garden. Today nobody in the garden just a few couples sat on the tables under the shelter and landlady after an hour says can ypu put your dog on a lead.nobody was bothered , nobody was in the garden bit, sorry you have list 4 people ,6 pints a night each and maybe some food, no wonder the pub is empty with that attitude, maybe you need more training.And 5.60 a pint for Stella we shall nor be coming back.

Passed this pub hundreds if not thousands of times and I have never stepped foot inside, We met here for a family birthday celebration and it has been fantastic, the Mexican burger I had was delicious, a bit messy but nothing A napkin couldn't fix. The Bar staff and servers were polite and helpful, I would definitely recommend A visit of you happen to be nearby.

Just had the most amazing meal, good quality, good quantity great taste. Staff were wonderful, polite , attentive amazing. If you have not tried it please do , you won't be disappointed . Well done to all at the Windmill x x

Having tried various places to eat, drink, enjoy locally, I tried the Windmill alone and was impressed by the welcome and atmosphere. Decided to ring and book a table for two after a hassle-filled day. What a great decision! Superb barstaff - great welcome, worked as a great and friendly team. Knew their drinks to a tee. Spot on. Told them I'd booked a table and they jointly informed me and provided menus and all the info I needed - perfect. Enjoyed the pre-drinks and ordered at the bar. Presented freshly cooked with an excellent member of staff who could not have been more helpful. 10 out of 10. Food was excellent. The fish, chips and salad was the best I've had in 12 years here in Sussex. And my wife totally agreed. Yes, there are loads of big brewery multiples out there but this is a GEM. Easy to pass by and not see when you're driving through to Rustington but you're missing a great place to chill, relax and enjoy a great meal. The garden area is huge and great for all patrons. If you really want a place that puts a smile on your face and a darned good meal, look no further.

Really like this pub. We are visiting my brother who took us there. There was a live band who were singing older music and not too loud. Lovely beer garden and friendly staff. It is also dog friendly.

A great inn for a social gathering. Plenty of indoor space and a superb garden available when the weather is good. There is also a substantial coveted outdoor space. We had a gathering and a buffet there October 2023 and were very impressed with the venue, the food and the service. There is also plenty of parking.

Been here a few times and always a lovely environment. But the best experience was having mine and my wife's wedding reception here. They helped so much with storing food and decorations. Love this place

The rudest manager i've ever come across My order was wrong She was very dismissive Talked over me Snatched my plate from me She was so rude and hostile i was shaking Even the waitress (who was lovely) apologised to me for the managers behaviour. This manager should not be working in the hospitality industry.

Bit disappointed that we were sat in bar. Bit cosy for nine people.. the table was covered with coins and you could smellthe coins . Food was delicious and the young bar staff were good. The biggest moan is salt and pepper served in sachets and the sauces were served in paper pots that you would get in macdonalds. Price was good

We were staying locally, and based on what seemed like reasonable reviews we walked to The Windmill for dinner at around 7PM. We got there and went to the bar, it seemed empty. A server walked past us and ignored us. We waited around for a while, but there was no signs of any activity. So we left.

Popped in for drinks but pleasantly surprised by the interior and the garden is huge. Love the idea of seeing a live band in the garden in the future. Menu looks great - we’ll pop back to try this

Huge garden, pleasant friendly landlord. Good choice of drinks as it was a Freehouse. Didn't eat here as kitchen wasn't open when we visited, it closes for a few hours around 3pm. Would return.

Good local pub. Bar staff are polite and friendly. Good range of drinks and there is food available. Has an outside area and also a reasonable sized car park.

Had mothers day lunch roast potatoes were burnt as was yokshire pudding looked like lumps of coal never had to complain before always had good food in the past.

The restaurant staff are very nice and welcoming, we came in winter March. They are saving money on heating, no heating at all, very cold inside. The place smell like dog and damp. It was Saturday and place was full, the front part was only open. We were seated near the toilet, but they do have a bigger place which they kept closed. The smell and ambiance depressing Food is ok for the value.

Really great family run pub. Warm welcoming old school place. Good food with an open fire and decent range of beers. Toilets were very clean and there's a great space outside that'll be fantastic in the summer. Shout out to Bradley and the team for looking after us so well.

The Windmill Inn! In my opinion, this is easily the best pub in the area. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff and regular patrons who make you feel right at home. On my recent visit, I tried their curry night deal - just £10 for a delicious curry and a refreshing pint. I was blown away by how tasty the curry was - it had the perfect balance of spices and flavors, and was served in a generous portion size. The pint was perfectly poured and hit the spot after a long day. The Windmill Inn has a great selection of beers and other drinks, too, and the staff are always happy to recommend something new or chat about what's on tap. I love the cozy atmosphere of the pub, with its warm lighting and comfortable seating. Overall, I would highly recommend the Windmill Inn to anyone looking for a great night out in the area. The curry night deal is unbeatable value, and the staff always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. This pub truly has a special charm and I can't wait to come back again! Visited the pub this Sunday as they were advertising 2 course lunch for £14.95 which was very good value, the staff were very friendly the food was very good the roast dinner had all fresh vegetables & plentiful would definitely come again.

Lovely atmosphere, good food and decent range of menu options. The staff are so nice too. Hope locals help keep this great place going. Has nice outside area too and good for families

Went out on Friday evening with two friends and had a wonderful meal and drinks in the garden. Super service from very friendly staff and we were very pleased with the prices. Super evening thank you.

The food was lovely. The staff were friendly. Everything was reasonably priced. Plenty of room in the garden and the kids loved the play park. Would definitely go here again.

I would just like to say a big thank you to all of the staff and management for hosting my 50th birthday party last Saturday evening. I have received so many comments on what a great party venue it was. The staff were amazing and friendly. Food was really nice too. The disco and karaoke was a blast too and everyone had a brilliant time singing and dancing. I cannot however blame you for my sore head on the Sunday. Thanks again ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My niece had a 50th birthday party here, it was excellent, everything she wanted, good food, excellent staff, and very well run bar, thank you to all who were working that night!!

So we had a family celebration at the Windmill yesterday, they were very helpful beforehand in catering to our requirements. We had a party of 20 and the food arrived almost at the same time. It was very nice from lamb shanks to the gluten free burgers required. Great beer and sensibly priced. Nice tidy garden and children’s play area. The staff were friendly and helpful, the background music was not invasive so we could all talk, all in all a good time. Recommended

Just kicked off the season with a beautiful homecooked Christmas lunch with the family. Under 18.00 for 3 courses, superb, thanks team. Sunday, 12 September 2021, not sure why I can't add a new review, but I have just had one of the best roast beef Sunday lunches ever, really nice with a great variety of veg. As always the family owners were very welcoming. I was sitting opposite the kitchen and seeing chef hand making the many pizzas was mesmerising. Thanks guys.

We went here today for a friend’s 70th birthday. The staff had excellent customer service very friendly staff One of the staff gave a cookie to our 18 month old grandchild. The food was simple but very good. The toilets were spotless. I would go back there again and would recommend the place.

We have always enjoyed the food when we have been many times before. Bearing in mind the pubs have not long been open after covid, I was very surprised at our recent visit. We went as a family on Fathers Day (which had been booked for several weeks in advance) and waited a little while at the door which was ok as could see they were busy. The tables were not even reserved after getting inside so had to scramble to find some. There appeared to only be one young girl waitressing who looked run ragged. After waiting 2 hours for our starter and another half hour for our mains, we were not only starving but very agitated. I was very disappointed with our treatment as nobody came to apologise apart from the said waitress who just looked very embarrassed. On hindsight we should have walked out and got a take away which would have been quicker !

We booked The Windmill for Father’s Day. This was a pub that we’ve booked regularly as a family and have enjoyed meals here in the past. After our most recent visit though, we won’t be back.- We waited an hour before our order was even taken! After waiting for our table to be ready, despite booking weeks in advance- We waited 2 hours in total for our tiny starters, which were very simplistic and incredibly overpriced! - We waited a further half an hour for our mains which, again, were of poor quality (my partner had to send his back as the chips were not even cooked) - A lovely waitress was having to deal with complaint after complaint with seemingly no support from any other staff member - At one point, the chef stormed out visibly upset by, I’m assuming, how poorly managed everything was- We were offered absolutely nothing in the way of discount or even a free coke as an apology for such shoddy service, only the excuse that they were ‘very busy’. Seeing as it was Father’s Day, we assumed that staff would have expected a busier afternoon than usual and planned accordingly- A long wait can sometimes be unavoidable, but the way in which this was dealt with was poor - it felt as if no one (apart from the poor waitress) cared at all about our dining experienceAll in all, an awful experience that ruined our Father’s Day celebrations. We paid an extortionate amount for mediocre food and an awful service. It’s safe to say, we will not be returning!

Good night out, weather was good so being in the garden was nice. Staff are amazing especially Silvio he goes the extra mile.

I have spent 2 Saturdays at the Windmill in the garden they provided beautiful weather the 3 girls working were delightful and the men very friendly food delicious and reasonably priced and they have Aspalls Cider what more could you want

It is a shame that I can only give this place a 1 star rating, as the service from the staff was really wonderful. We attended with a group of 12 for an early evening meal to celebrate a family birthday. We had deliberately booked outside seating because of the numbers. On arrival, we checked in on the app, and were shown through to the garden, which has a wonderful play area for the kids. We were told that we could choose any two tables, but could only sit 6 to a table. When we challenged this the management became quite rude to our party, and told us that we could do whatever we wanted apart from move tables to create one party. This soured the evening somewhat, as we had hoped to eat together as a family, especially as current COVID-19 regulations state that groups of 30 are allowed outside. Despite the attentive nature of the staff, the evening was spoiled by the very basic standard of food, and the overt drunkeness of some of the other customers. I accept that this is a pub, but at the same time, it was 4pm in the afternoon at a 'family friendly pub'. The language, the volume, and the over-serving of alcohol to some customers made this place seem very unfriendly to families with young children. Will definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

Great beer garden with lovely small children's play area. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who took our drinks orders. Drinks arrived promptly. We then waited over 40 minutes for our food order to be taken, we asked a passing waitress if we could place our order, she went off to get the machine and never came back to us. They were not busy and there seemed to be staff floating around so not sure what was going on. Disappointing and has put us off returning.

We booked about 30 mins before we turned up very lucky to get a table , when we arrived we had to fill out a contact and trace form for our party no problems whatsoever, we chose a table in the sun , we were met by a really nice man assuming he was the manager/owner he was fantastic really funny and polite and made our time their feel very special many thanks to him we will return soon , highly recommend this place for food and drinks thank you see you soon

Bradley was very nice to a group of drunk females. He kept his cool, made some jokes and made us feel comfortable. I will come back here for the to be warm atmosphere.

This is a pub that always looks busy when we pass so we tried it for Sunday lunch. It was really good. Both had roast chicken which was well cooked; well presented; with a good mix of vegetables etc. Drinks from the bar; one apple pie and one profiteroles both very nice and a nice hot latte to finish all very good. And the dining area was very clean. Very cheerful attentive staff who seemed genuinely enthusiastic with nicely paced serviced. By a long chalk the best pub meal we have had in the area.

My partner and i popped in to the Windmill in with our dog for lunch. The food was great. I enjoyed the burger and my partner the scampi. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

It was great, we had a warm welcome and the food was tasty and well presented. We opted for a table inside inside as it was windy, but it had a good beer garden too. Choice of foods was a little limited but we were very pleased with what we ordered.

We visited the Windmill Inn to meet family for dinner and sat outside in the beer garden. We found the staff were all fantastic and very welcoming and friendly and the food was delicious! Beer garden was really big so there was space for my daughter to run about (it wasn't busy when we went) & there's even a little playarea (although it's currently closed due to covid). The tables were all spaced out for social distancing and it was very well organized. Would definitely recommend & we will definitely visit again soon. Thank you for a lovely evening!
