Absolutely excellent. Had the calamari starter and the small plate of scallops which was exquisite. Glass of Whispering Angel rosé to accompany. Recommended.

We got to Brighton late and phoned ahead to make sure we could bring our little dog with us. They couldn’t have been more welcoming with a little bowl of water and freshly cooked chicken for our pooch, the service was incredible. Immediately served our drinks and the food was timely and tasted great. We would definitely recommend this.

We booked for the swim and dine deal. The swim and use of the spa was amazing, beautiful and clean. Unfortunately the restaurant was a huge disappointment. It was very quiet, being one of 3 tables at the beginning so we had some expectation that service would be timely. The waitress was not welcoming at all. Didn’t take note of our orders, which I know is standard in some restaurants, but when you have to come back and check the order, and need correcting, it’s not the best start. We ordered 2 pints of lager, a wine and a Malibu and coke, which took around 20 mins to arrive. Our starters arrive 10 mins after the drinks and were good . However, it started going down from here when we then waiting around an hour for our main, with no apologies for the wait. We were spoken to once in this time and offered a drink as they took our dishes away from the starter, and then ignored for the following hour. When the food arrived, it was tasty but cold. We were all so hungry and tired we didn’t bother complaining. It then took th a further 20 mins to clear our plates. We were then pretty much forgotten about. No offer of a dessert menu, which we did want, no offer of drinks or the bill. After a further 20 mins we decided to go to the bar to pay. They initially ignored us for 5 mins whilst they focused on cleaning trays. They had double charged us for food. We informed them we would not be paying the tip, and there was no question from them as to why this was. Staff were rude and dismissive and it very much felt like we were treated as if we did not belong there as most other tables were served well before we were despite arriving significantly later than us. Despite wanting dessert, we were so fed up, we chose to stop for McFlurrys on the way home… I must say it was incredibly disappointing and put a real dampener on a lovely spa experience for our final part of a hen do.

they impressed us a lot with their kind and positive welcome. they also accepted our little dog with great joy. I recommend trying this place with very good food and drinks, we will definitely come back next time. we need more places like this in brighton

Lovely cocktails, though this would be expected at this price point. Really enjoyed the decor and lovely big windows to enjoy the sea views.

The staff were wonderful and accommodating as I was a walk in on a busy Saturday as well as having a wedding function. Evie and Eve were so attentive and the food was delicious. I cannot wait to come back with my family.

I tried this place for the first time recently. The restaurant was mostly dead when I walked in, with only two tables occupied. It took a while for someone to acknowledge and seat me, but I was allowed to pick any spot I wanted. The menu is a bit barebones but I knew I was in the mood for fish and chips anyway. It took only about 15 minutes to arrive. I asked for some malt vinegar, and when I went to pour it I was horrified by some pinkish mucosal substance drooling out of the bottle... not a great first impression! The chips were alright but needed to be salted. The fish was not great... all of the food was extremely greasy as if it had not been drained at all before serving. It was all quite bland. Between the stuff that came out of the vinegar bottle and the excess oil on my plate, I lost my appetite before finishing everything. I left with mild stomach cramps and felt like I'd been ripped off... £19.50 + 12.5% service charge! Quite a pretentious price for such middling food.

I visited the Harbour for our 1 year wedding anniversary, we also got married at the Harbour hotel. The starter was excellent, however the mains differed from what the menu had stated so we let the waiter Adrian know. He handled this exceptionally well, and resolved the issue promptly. His kindness and people skills should be rewarded as a high level of service that any company would value highly. Looking forward to return again. Thanks to all staff and Adrian for a good evening.

My work colleagues brought me here on 27th April for my retirement party. We had the Funfair themed Afternoon Tea. Lots of sweet things on this option but the savoury buts were fab too! Such a lovely place with a mixture of shabby chic and seaside neon. Big comfy seats. There were two other big groups who were also having a great time. Our waiter was wonderful! Making our visit really special! Definitely recommend!

Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Men’s toilets were a challenge to find but would definitely recommend going here. Exciting menu with lots of choices.

Stayed at hotel so booked the afternoon tea before check in. Hugely overpriced for what we got. It was a fun fair afternoon tea, mostly bulked out by pointless items packed with so much sugar we couldn’t eat them. Savoury items were ok, though the salmon and cream cheese bagel was solid, bagel seemed stale and cream cheese had set, left me wondering how long it had been made for. ‘Loose tea’ detailed in menu when we just got a basic tea bag which we had in our room. For the price we expected something on the higher end and were massively disappointed even more so when it came to paying, also adding on 12.5% charge which was not deserved on the basis of the food provided. However our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout. Would not recommend, spend your money else where in on of Brighton’s many restaurants.

We were coming to Bristol for a concert and so had pre-booked this table on the 5th February for an early dinner so that we were able to get to the concert on time after eating. When we were arrived, we were told that the restaurant had been booked for a private function, but that we would be put in another room. We were then taken into the other room, which was a small back room with three small coffee tables … sofa chairs and Knee-high tables (totally unsuitable for eating at) nobody in there at all. A bar where the chairs were upside down on top of the bar and obviously not in use. This has recently happened at a booking we made in Manchester in a couple of weeks time and the restaurant very kindly rang us last weekend and explained the situation and offered us another part of the restaurant, which is what should’ve happened with yourselves. Very very bad service. Luckily for us, it enabled us to go and discover the wonderful Pho down the road from yourselves who served us and the food was delicious. I have to say that this has never ever happened to us before and I would hope that anybody else who had booked a table last night (of which we were informed there were a few) were equally shocked at the alternative. It was clear that no plans had been made for the other guests last night that had privately booked tables and no apologies were offered. I understand that to have a private booking for a room on a Wednesday night in February is great for business, but assuming or hoping that your early guests won’t turn up for an early dinner is not great for your business or the hotel. I did private message the restaurant with this review as I was not going to put it on Trip Advisor but have nothing back from them at all.

The menu is very weird. As a hotel resident I expect usual items; veg burger, sandwich, soup, salad, humus etc. If I want fancy cabbage or aubergine I can walk 2 minutes outside and have a better cheaper meal.

unlucky for me there was a staff party AND a private party here tonight. they should have just closed the doors instead of showing the snotty attitude to customers that they showed. they did apologise to me and bought me a drink but i won't be back

didn't book a pre show meal , we had stayed at the hotel before so took a chance. They kindly fitted us in first in a bar seating area , then when we asked again , at a table but only for 1Hr 15 mins but that was fine. We only wanted 1 course and we had time limitations ourselves. My partner is pescatarian so the choice was limited but she settled on the Fish and Chips , I had a burger. Both seemed pricey but not extortionate for Brighton and our own fault for not pre booking somewhere. When the food arrived my partners battered fish was liberally covered in sea salt? Which to her palette rendered it uneatable. She persevered by taking the batter off but it was ruined. The chef by chance was doing the rounds and we informed him about the fish. he did to his credit offer to cook us another piece of fish, but we had no time for this, and no one wants to eat alone. So we declined but did say, an explanation in the menu or from the servers maybe would be an advantage. A lot of people like to season their own food. The main server then came to clear our plates he saw my partners plate and asked if the meal was ok. We explained again and that's when the conversation took a turn for the worse. His attitude was not conciliary, we weren't asking for anything just making observations and suggestions. but he was trying to convince us not every ingredient could be listed , if we had a problem with added salt we should have said. it was an essential part of the meal , just like the oil for frying? Now we did want something, we wanted the cost of the meal taken off of the bill, he assured us there was nothing he could do, and we assured him there was but he was refusing to do so. The bill was paid in full and we left. 1) maybe in future let people season their own food, or if you insist on doing it make sure they know beforehand, even your local chippy has the curtesy to ask do you want salt and vinegar on that. 2) we know there is a staff shortage for everyone but if your new staff do make mistakes , don't let your customers suffer. We heard your senior server tell the waitress as we were leaving , to tell the customers in future about the salt on the fish, too little too late! 3) We also heard the senior server , tell the table next to us about the specials, one of which was a Fish pie. Our new inexperienced server did not tell us this. So we had to pay for your staffs lack of training. 4) we did not ask for the service charge to be removed as we felt as appalling as the senior servers service to your customers was, it was by no means the inexperienced servers fault.

We had booked a table of 7 for Sunday lunch. The maitre d remained seated and pointed us to the table as it was obviously too much effort to walk us the 5 meters to the table. The waitress Emmeline was fantastic even though the bar and kitchen threw her under the bus several times. Wrong drinks from the bar, warm glasses and then chilled glasses for beers with water in the bottom. The kitchen then delayed 2 of the seven meals for approximately 10 minutes after the others meals had been served because they had got the orders wrong and had to re make the meals. Throughout these issues Emmeline remained attentive and apologetic and maintained a good degree of service. Again the maitre d remained seated as talking to other members of staff was higher up her priorities than the satisfaction of her customers. On a positive note, the food was good and the decor is beautiful.

We were looking forward to this afternoon tea as a birthday treat- but we’re let somewhat disappointed . The service was very patchy and slow and I had to go back and ask for several things like a plate! Children’s drinks were charged as extras- even though it was obvious they weren’t going to drink the tea or coffee! The server wasn’t sure what the vegetarian plate was as this is usually always explained to the customer when presented with an afternoon tea. We weren’t asked if we were ok or if. we needed anything- pretty much let to own devices. Presentation of the sweets were nice but a but expensive and let down by customer care and some hidden extras

Went there at lunchtime today. Service patchy, food overpriced - £19.50 for batter and ten chips and a Bergamot Eton Tidy desert thingy which was an absolute overpriced joke. 12.5% service charge. Came away feeling ripped off and hungry.

The staff in the restaurant are lovely! However…… on our first night they had run out of the Cod option, which is fine but the waitress should have made us aware when delivering the menus Restaurant manager was very apologetic…. And assured us we would be able to have the cod the next night! On the second night we did in fact get to eat the cod however…. Asking the waitress what does the cod come with? She very politely said what it says on the menu….. ok fair enough! I ordered a side of mash and my friend ordered fries. The cod came on a bed of mash🤷‍♀️ Breakfast service was very slow. The waitress was very nice and polite but had zero sense of urgency! We got in early as had longish trip home but couldn’t seem to move things along any quicker. Our experience was between average and good.

Hotel on the seafront in Brighton. Hotel has no parking but there is parking close by. The hotel is near alot of nightlife so if this is your thing your choice is plentiful. The spa was great and ideal for a relaxing time in Saturday afternoon. Only complaint would be the symphony of the pipes from the plumbing, but as this is an old building this could be the reasoning. A wedding was in on the Sunday night seem to be having a great time in the bar.

We came for lunch to celebrate a birthday,the staff were very welcoming,polite,service was excellent!👍🙂...nothing was too much trouble,drinks arrived promptly,which was great!-food was well presented,lovely hot when it arrived,atmosphere was relaxed,great ambiance...after finishing our lunch went sat on very comfortable sofas & had another drink! Stayed best Part of the afternoon as we were enjoying the whole time! This was our 4th visit for Birthday celebrations,will be coming back again. Great place.. 💯 recommend it! Well done to all the staff.😊

Afternoon tea ok good shame about the service! Must have taken over an hour to clear the table, didn’t ask if we wanted a second round of drinks. Outside of the building and the toilets also need some money spending, staff training wouldn’t go a miss.

Jazz was such a lovely and welcoming girl, I really recommend her and will be coming back again .The facial I had was lovely and left my skin feeling the best it’s ever been!

Great bar with first class cocktails and food. Nice vibe which had a friendly upmarket feel. Haven't eaten in the restaurant for a while or stayed in the hotel but if you want a few drinks in a nice bar you won't go wrong here.

The restaurant, on the seafront, is light, airy and tastefully decorated in a style reminiscent of the old ’end-of-pier’ amusements – from the large carousel - like lampshades to the chairs to the wallpaper. Four of us had lunch. The scallop starter, the tempura prawns, the crispy beef salad and the asparagus were all very good. The cod with crab crust was unusual and very good as was the duck confit. The portions of fish and chips were very generous. Two of us were staying at the hotel and had breakfast here three times. Both the buffet and the choice of cooked items were very good in terms of both variety and quality. Good value for money, friendly, efficient service and a lovely relaxed ambiance.

Restaurant was a lot quieter than most in the area, which actually suited us (it's inside a hotel). The menu is limited and I was expecting more seafood options for a nautical themed restaurant. We ordered Tiger Prawns to share, only 3 pieces, suggest maybe giving 4 pieces and would be prepared to pay slightly more. We ordered two mains; fish & chips and a burger with fries. We enjoyed both meals. Fish & chips was slightly pricey though. The service was good and staff were attentive. Overall slightly pricier for what you get but we had a nice experience.

Vi bestilte Afternoon Tea for 2, med en flaske bobler til. Servicen var så som så… Ikke kom de å skjenket påfyll i glassene våre når de var tomme, det måtte vi gjøre selv. De glemte også å servere oss te, det måtte vi faktisk be om. Ikke fikk vi velge te sort heller. Ellers så var konseptet morsomt servert, med både pølse, burger osv før etasjefatet kom. Men alt i alt, litt for mye søtt. Kunne godt vært mere kjeks og scones.

Right on the seafront do a great location. Chicken popcorn was good as was pork belly bites. Mains of Lamb chops was not very good and the burger was just awful. Had to ask four times for drinks orders to arrive. Coffee was stewed and bitter. Service was incredibly slow and inattentive Bill for two courses was £240 for two courses for four people and two non drinkers.

I had a hamburger and the meat was horrible.

Booked for afternoon tea which was very underwhelming for the price we paid, very small portions to split between two. The food wasn't anything special, I've paid alot less elsewhere and the food was delicious, unfortunately not here. Service was very slow. I asked for more tea as I had already drank my tea before the food arrived but unfortunately the extra tea never arrived. We then sat not eating and drinking for half an hour until my husband then got up to go ask for the bill. We asked for the 12.5% gratitude to be taken off of our bill due to the poor service. I then could see the two waitresses behind the bar swearing and throwing dirty looks our way which I understand they want their tip but you actually have to provide a good service to gain that as I think they have forgotten it isn't a given. Needless to say we will not be returning. My one star is for the view of the sea from our table.

Amazing fish and chips! The cocktails were great as well. The restaurant had a relaxing atmosphere and a decent view of the sea. All of the staff were very attentive.

Booked for the advertised Royal Coronation brunch only to be told that 3 of the listed items on the menu was not available. The lobster option included in this. I was told their delivery had not arrived yet. We booked as I thought it was a creative menu hence this outcome was very disappointing. We said we would leave and return on Sunday, i.e. today as the delivery with then have arrived. Only to be told that it is unlikely. This made me question if it reay was a delivery issue in the first place. Also this is a bank holiday weekend so why would this be acceptable. Surely you place your orders in early enough to ensure delivery is on time. Anyway we left and went to Riddles and Finn opposite and enjoyed lovely lobster and an awesome meal.

Customer service could be improved on arrival, taking order and getting it right..having waiting staff that actually understand English. Food is overpriced - all a bit too pricey and not getting value for money.

Popped in Harbour Kitchen with my niece when we had just arrived in Brighton and didn’t really know where to go and were just passing. We hit gold. The staff were amazing and I don’t say that lightly. Attentive but not intrusive, happy, helpful, welcoming and genuinely seemed happy to be at work. The food was outstanding, everything on my full English breakfast plate was spot on. Highly recommend this place and will certainly revisit - planning a trip to Brighton in a couple months and will look at staying at the hotel as well.

Nice dining area. Main meal choice very limited to 4 or 5 choices. Meal turned up not as described. Lack of quality control in kitchen blamed on staffing training. Compensated by round of drinks and service charge taken off. That's fine thanks but you already dampened down a celebration by making me complain. Food portions small staff a bit underwhelming but prices high🙄

Our 'Funfair Favourites Afternoon Tea' was a great novel fun experience! Booked as a 21st Birthday surprise for my Niece. Upon her arrival there was plate saying happy birthday in chocolate & a glass of fizz in the '21' flute I had popped in with pre-dinning. Sylvia and her team looked after us very well and ensured that everything was set-up as requested. The tea itself was delicious and the attention to detail was exceptional! Everything tasted delicious from the open kitchen. What's not to love from the savory starters; Fish finger sandwiches Hot dog in brioche Mini cheeseburger Smoked salmon bagel To the most impressive Funfair 'embrace your inner seaside child' sweets served on a sliver circle; Coconut meringue ice cream sandwich Sticky toffee cupcake Doughnut balls & chocolate sauce (to share) Raspberry popcorn (to share) Marshmallow lollipop Candy floss...oh my proper candy floss on a stick! Red velvet apple shaped macaron Who could resist the scones; Olive & sun-dried tomato scone with basil butter Milk chocolate scone with cinnamon butter We particularly enjoyed the surprise of the Coconut meringue ice cream sandwich, which looked like it had a marshmallow filler but turned out to be a lovely ice cream sensation. The faux chip paper was also a lovely detail on the funfair wheel, as was the impressive huge candy floss which caught other diners envious attentions ; @) If you are after a bit of seaside fun & nostalgia on Brighton seafront then this is one to experience! Make sure you book well in advance and specify any special your requests\requirements.

The hotel is not as I expected from visiting their website. We had one of the suites on the sea front, great view, bed king size and comfortable however room could do with some loving care, some plastering and painting. The fan in the bathroom was as loud as I’ve ever heard. Restaurant very average, breakfast was included however we didn’t bother going on second day. For over £300 per night I expect more luxury. Staff thought very good and when we reported a couple of issues maintenance were on it. Spa is adequate what was really annoying was room service only provided food that was on main menu so no sandwiches or baguettes so you had to go out. To summarise it’s overpriced and you can definitely do better, won’t be going again

Food was great - Sunday roast, including a good nut roast for me as a veggie. Service was good and cocktails were great! It's really great being able to take our dog too. Only minor comment is it would be good to be offered a dog water bowl, as most dog-friendly venues do :)

This rating represents great food but poor service. Afternoon tea was part of the Mother’s Day spa deal for my daughter and myself. Our savoury course came quickly. The food was tasty and inventive. Then we waited over 45 minutes for the sweets. We chased it three times as we had a deadline. One waiter was very offhand (rude). The other was more helpful but the food still didn’t come until almost an hour had gone by and we were on the point of leaving without it so had to shove it in a takeaway box. This was a shame because it was delicious, especially the fresh scones, savoury with herb butter and sweet with cinnamon butter; the meringues, the little toffee cakes, the doughnuts with chocolate sauce. Ok some elements were a bit childish (candy floss, marshmallows, popcorn) but it would have been a feast for the eyes as well as the mouth, and such fun, if we hadn’t had to rush!

IT was my birthday and I did not want to eat at lunchtime (although I love Sunday Roast). To my surprise at 6.30 pm Sunday Evening, Roast Beef was still available, very enjoyable with excellent gravy.

Despite a few items not being available and regular staff being off on their party night - the service was attentive, and the food beautifully cooked and presented. We all enjoyed it thoroughly and would recommend to others

Friendly, expert bar staff. By far the best cocktails I had in Brighton. Staff know all the classics and aren’t phased if you order ‘off menu’. Seafront location so in summer will have a great view. Nice comfy chairs and sofas, and cosy but modern...

we went as a special occasion for the Christmas menu. But it was terrible. Starters were lovely, but the roast turkey dinner was beyond dispointing! It turned up to my table and at first I was convinced a plate of veg would follow, but no. The veg was actually on the same plate but because everything was black, I couldn't tell. Burnt food, tasteless and vile and potatoes soggy! It was only the Turkey which tasted nice, the rest was like eating charcoal without a crunch..... soggy charcoal. 12% tip on top took the mick too, it's embarrassing to ask to remove it and they know it!!

An enjoyable evening and good food. All the staff, especially the chef, were very helpful concerning my friend's food allergies. She had a dish especially prepared for her,which she greatly appreciated.

Three of us stayed on a Sunday and Monday evening. Very good deal with dinner included on the Sunday evening. We booked a table for 6.45 pm. Unfortunately, we were not informed at the time of booking that the Sunday Roasts were only available until...

We came here for an afternoon tea and left roundly disappointed. We were only offered 1 pot of tea each, with no refills, or new hot water. The one person who didn't want tea, wasn't able to have coffee and we had to pay extra for a fruit juice instead. The savoury section wasn't quite what we were hoping for and we wouldn't pay for this again. The petit fours and scones were mostly okay, I liked the scones, but the meringue with coconut sorbet lacked the balance of a cream filling. The macaron was very dark chocolate, and chewy but not in a pleasant macaron fashion. The candyfloss was pretty, and tasted nice. Service when it came was okay, but I felt the 'optional' service charge didn't feel so. Would not return.

Alors avoir essayer plusieurs restaurant et pub dans le centre nous voulions un dîner face à la mer dans un cadre plus calme et cosy. C'est tout à fait le cadre. Uneb équipe professionnelle, attentive, aimable. Une carte un peu chiche mais tout est frais, fait presque devant vous, le chef est attentif aux problèmes d'intolérance. Un bel endroit, une décoration chic décalée. Huitres, poissons, frites, légumes, viandes tout était très bon. Un bon moment.

I was impressed with the quality of the afternoon tea; ordered gluten free in advance which was a really good spread and only minor alterations from the ‘normal’ afternoon tea. Loads of food! The cocktails were also really tasty. Worth a visit!

Fish & Chips was Greasy and tasteless they charge £18 for this and it would have tasted better in a weatherspoons for a third of the cost.

We came here on a bank holiday, and it is one of the two restaurants which were not full, so we got lucky and got a seat. The food was good in smaller portion (except for the cheese platter) and on the more expensive side, which were reasonable because it is by the sea and it’s a part of a hotel. The staff are polite and quick. We ordered a starter, 2 mains, 2 cocktails, and 2 dessert. Unfortunately there was a family with a screaming kid, so despite we paid a good amount of money, we still have to eat with constant screaming and crying. I saw the staff asked the parents if they can help with anything, the parents turned them down. But I think a better option is to offer them a separate room in the other side of the restaurant. The main reason for this 1 star review is when we pay our bill, they charged us euros, which makes no sense because that is a British account with enough GBP(we live in the UK , not tourists) and it charged us 9 pounds conversion fee. The staff explained it is done automatically and he doesn’t know why. We really don’t appreciate the lack of effort to resolve the issue. I understand error can happen from time to time, it is the staff’s effort in solving the issue that matters. In this case, there was none.

Waiter of the restaurant took my card and charged me in a foreign currency at a 50% mark-up on a large bill, despite my card being UK with a large enough GBP balance. When I mentioned the receipt didn't line up with the bill, he fluffed it away and offered no solutions. Rather poor ending to an otherwise great day. Scam place, do not visit if any other option is available.
