Excellent Pub, people friendly and inviting. Lunch was exceptional, Steak and Ale pie with beef dripping chips. Best food I have had in a long time. Would definitely recommend this Pub. We will be back again soon!

The best most friendly pub , great location and a good food selection

Popped in to the harbour inn for some lunch and a beer. Food and beer were very good. I had the fish stew with some crusty bread. My wife had the cheese pie with a side salad

We arrived at the end of their evening service but they still found us a table last minute. We had the steak and ale pie and seafood linguine. The food was gorgeous and the service and welcome were amazing. Definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby.

Welcoming and staff doing their best, however, only one vegetarian option and even the fish was cooked in beef fat, odd...the mussels were some of the smallest cornish ones ever seen, although cooked lovely.

Really wanted an afternoon tea. My husband saw they did a crab sandwich so that’s made up his mind . We asked if they did scones. The kitchen had just closed but they took our order. The sandwich was delicious and a good size. My scones were served warm and also delicious. The staff gave us a warm welcome. Lots of dogs so very dog friendly. Highly recommended

Great pub for food and very friendly staff. We had the crab sandwich and pulled pork poutine which were top notch. Love the big fire called Bessie to keep warm after a walk around the town.

What a gorgeous little find! We’ve been to Padstow many times but have only just discovered the Harbour Inn. We visited as two families, with four (very energetic!) children and could not have been made to feel more welcome by Jane and the team. Food was absolutely gorgeous, atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming and we would not hesitate to recommend a visit. We can’t wait to return. Thank you 🫶🏼❤️

Fantastic fresh crab sandwich prepared by Wendy and Sam in the kitchen and great service from Jane who made the children really happy with the colouring crayons and rainbow paper. Lovely local ales too.

A lovely warm and welcoming pub in the centre of Padstow. Amazing service from Jane and fabulous food from Stuart & Shane (the chefs). We had the Fish & Chips which were freshly battered and genuine home cooked chips, all done to perfection. Thank you guys!

Arrived after a long mid January overnight sail from Salcombe crossing the bar with the tide and drooling at the thought of a cooked meal . . . we had been messaged to get to Padstow and to eat the steak and ale pie at the Harbour Inn . . . so, of course, we did. It was all we had been promised large portion, succulent, crisp pastry and rich filling . . . definitely five star. Set us up well to depart on the tide next morning before battling the Bristol Channel.

Lovely staff, clean but bet yet is their fish and chips. Dont bother with the Rick Stein resturants nearby, this is better

Cracking Cornish Pub. Great welcome, great food, great service. Jane - wonderful server. Shane and Stewart in the kitchen are doing a brilliant job. Visited in January for live music and the trip didn’t disappoint. Highlight within Padstow.

Fantastic food we had lunch on Sunday. I had the steak and Ale pie. My wife had the roast beef Sunday lunch. Both were lovely. Staff where very pleasant. The waitress introduced herself by name and also told us the names of the chefs cooking that day. My steak and Ale pie has got to be one of the best I've ever had. Will definitely be back. What an absolute gem of a place. Highly recommended

We visited on the weekend for an evening meal, such a lovely place with a great atmosphere. The food was amazing the fish super fresh the chips home cooked and delicious and amazing service thanks to Jane Shane and Wendy friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Arrived late in town and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful Jane, Aidan and another member of staff especially who managed to sort us a sandwich when the kitchen had closed would highly recommend, the pub itself is a bonus

We came to have lunch on Sunday 5th January. We were not disappointed the atmosphere was really good like a harbour town of old, the guys were fantastic, the open fire added to the warm relaxing feel. The nut roast was to die for. Even our little dog was spoilt. See you soon guys. And big thank you.

We visited the Harbour Inn just before Christmas. There were 7 of us during a busy lunch time, but the team were able to accommodate us by moving some tables (thank you). We had 7 meals. The food is definitely ‘pub grub’, but a high standard! We came back on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day for drinks which was lovely. Great atmosphere.

Ruth your team are great you should be proud of them, Jane front of house is amazing thank you for your help in finding a table and looking after us. Your chefs Shane and Bo well your food is amazing. Loved the Sunday dinner and also the fish finger sandwich. They party atmosphere in the pub NYE was also great a good mix of people of all ages, families and locals. We would definitely recommend this pub to eat, drink and sing with the resident pianist Jonny. Right on the harbour. Once again thank you for your hospitality xx

Great service by Jane, good food by Shane- although one of our fries were not hot, the fish and the burgers were all perfectly cooked and delicious

We went last year, and had the fish stew which was absolutely wonderful, and we have been again this year and it was really lovely, in fact it was better than last year. Last year was a little too spicy, and today it was perfect. The only criticism is the bread that was served with it wasn’t overly large, and when we asked if we could have some more bread we were told to go to the bar to order some more. We waited 15 minutes at the bar to order the food and drinks in the first place, so naturally we declined, we didn’t want to be queueing up at the bar to pay for more bread while our food was getting cold. We mentioned it to the lady who I think might be the landlady, and she wasn’t impressed. So hopefully this won’t be something that happens on a regular basis. Apart from that it was delightful. Had they brought some more bread, I would have given it five stars . We paid £60 for two stews, a soft drink and a glass of wine. So not a cheap lunch, and therefore a little bit of extra bread without being told to go to the bar and queue up and pay for more bread, which would’ve taken another 15 to 20 minutes Isn’t a big ask. The bread is the cheapest part of that meal, so why on earth they couldn’t just give us some more bread is beyond me.

Really lovely pub, great food and fantastic staff! The food was tasty and really good portion sizes for the money. The chips are incredible! Dog and family friendly and can relax by the fire on a cold rainy day!

Tucked away on Strand Street, the Harbour Inn is a traditional, family-run pub that exudes charm and warmth. Serving freshly made, locally sourced food, this spot is a must-visit. We tried the steak and ale pie, and it was amazing—packed with high-quality meat and rich flavor. Many diners around us were also raving about it, which speaks volumes! The service was friendly yet professional, (a big shout-out to Jane, who worked tirelessly to ensure everyone was looked after) and the ambiance was delightful, with a roaring log fire, festive Christmas decorations, and a cosy vibe. It’s clearly a popular choice, and perhaps its independent, non-chain status adds to its appeal. We enjoyed it so much that we visited twice during our short stay. Bravo to the team—highly recommend!

We've just enjoyed a lovely boxing day lunch. Seafood Linguini - lots of fish & a creamy, nicely spiced sauce with chilli. The ham, egg & chips were excellent. Well cooked Shane. Very attentive service by Jane & well kept real ales made for a very pleasant lunch.

Great pub, lovely food, nice ambience. We were looking for somewhere for a pub lunch and we're so glad we came here. What a nice pub! We've looked through the window several times in our many previous visits to Padstow. We're so glad we finally gave the Harbour Inn a try. Immediately after sitting down we thought it had a nice feeling with just the right level of background atmosphere. The food was delicious and we were served by a very friendly lady called Jane. We will be back on our next holiday to the Padstow area.

Lovely traditional pub in the centre of Padstow. A lot larger inside than it looks from the outside. Very pleasant bar staff and a wide selection of real ales. Would highly recommend and definitely be back.

We arrived on a wet Sunday lunchtime to a warm and jolly welcome. We had Sunday roast ( chicken for one and nut roast for the other) the staff were very accommodating to our food preferences. We chose the small portions which were more than enough for us. The food was lovely as was our overall experience. I would definitely recommend!

Lovely staff here, made us very welcome with our small dog and the warmth of a real log fire, but the highlight was the incredible steak & ale pie with beef dripping chips, one of the best S&A pies I’ve ever had with suet pastry and the chips were perfect. My wife had the sea bass fillets and she said they were lovely. Highly recommended.

Been coming to this pub for a few years now when on holiday and never had a bad meal even to the point of asking when the meal we had would be on the menu again and the barman even phoned us to say it was on again fantastic place great service great menu

Nice little pub with friendly staff. I had the garlic pawns and the steak and ale pie, and they were delicious! The pawns were massive! Lots of meat in the pie that was cooked beautifully. My husband had the blue ribbon burger and enjoyed it. Also, it's dog friendly.

We were told about this pub after it was highly recommended by a local dog walker who we chatted with during our stopover. She explained that it was super dog friendly and the staff were great there too. She wasn't wrong. We went in around 11:30am and there were a handful of people in the place. The fire was roaring and the feel of the place was fantastic. My wife got me a pint of real ale and the dog a bottle of, 'Bottom Sniffer' dog beer too. It even came with a bowl and an individually wrapped chew. We ordered our food from a very inviting menu and weren't disappointed when it arrived. The food was fantastic. The lady serving could not have been nicer. Her name was Sue and she was a genuine delight to talk with. We told her how nice the food was and she named the staff working in the kitchen that day. Sadly, I forget their details, but I thank you all as a team. By the time we left, the pub was full. We wished we could have stayed longer, but our time was limited. However, we will be back. 5 star review... I wish there were more stars to give.

Lovely place but very expensive. The staff were amazing but the food let's the place down. £9.70 for a glass of wine. The sizzling prawns were underwhelming. Six prawns and two slices of hard baguette. Mussels were laced in garlic and most of then were closed. Didn't meet expectations 😕

Been to Padstow many times but never been in the Harbour Inn before. We have missed a gem, friendly staff great food I had steak & ale pie with new potatoes. The wife had Mussels which she said were best she has ever had.The prices where great two,the open fire was so nice and made it homely. We will be back without doubt

Amazing food! We really enjoyed our Sunday roast. Thank you very much Jane, Bow & Sam for the service and the food.

We had a very tasty roast lunch sat by the cosy wood burner. The staff were welcoming and when we had finished our lunch we sat on the sofa near the fire with tea. It was difficult to tear ourselves away but the beautiful walk to the war memorial with fantastic views was a must.

Super friendly pub, with great food. Had Cornish crab sandwiches and local mussels. Tasty very tasty, best crab sandwiches I’ve eaten. Mussels were also very very good. Service was excellent. Our dog enjoyed it too as treats were provided. But they had run out of doggies beer :)

There are many places to eat in Padstow from celebrity chef venues to cafes. The Harbour Inn is a traditional pub and offers good food at reasonable prices. It was well staffed with prompt service. What I really liked as a treat, was the fish and chips using freshly caught fish and chips cooked in beef dripping giving a true 1950s flavour. Also has local (St Austell) pump beers as well as many other beers.

Ate here while visiting Padstow lovely Place and the people running it were from the Midlands like Us which made it more homely All ordered food 2 Scampi's and 1 Sea Bass and drinks Food was absolutely Beautiful scampi was the best I tasted in years My wife enjoyed her sea bass all plates emptied couldn't fault the place will be back next time we are in the area Paul Karen & Jack

Lovely old world pub feeling, where we were treated with a big friendly smiley staff and shown to a vacant table. Our food was delivered by another smiley staff member and nothing seemed to be too much for her. My wife had the Porthtilly muscles of which she said were excellent. I had fish and chips, being allergic to shellfish. I must say the fish was very tasty in a good crisp batter but a little greasy the chips likewise. A good time was had and we certainly intend to return again.

Lovely staff dog friendly with water bowls and treats available great selection of food great tasting with good prices drinks good price as well in a nice quiet spot just ofsett from the harbour about 20m so it's not so busy you won't get a table. Also they have live music if that's your thing overall a great pub with brilliant atmosphere. Side note when we ordered our food the first thing the barmaid said was "any allergies which I thought was rather prompt of them to be so on it with customer food safety especially when it's the customer responsibility to ensure they tell them instead.

We ate at the Harbour Inn twice during our recent stay in Padstow. From the welcome to the atmosphere to the perfectly chilled and sensibly priced white wine to best of all the food. Outstanding ! We had the steak pie on our first night. Filling tender and proper shortcrust pastry on top and bottom. Fish and chips equally top notch. It's real testament to any pub as to how they execute staple dishes. Both hit the brief full on. A welcoming and warming atmosphere completed both visits. So nice to walk in to a pub and be properly welcomed. Well done guys

We only popped in for a drink, loved the atmoshpere and the warm welcome for two and four legged beings. We will be back again!

Pleasant place to sit if the weather is kind.

We went round the pubs in padstow looking for something to eat and it was very quiet in all of them. We kept looking and went to the Harbour Inn. When we walked in, the place was full, and we were lucky to get a seat. There was a man playing on the piano who was exceptionally he could play anything and did requests. We ordered food my wife had seafood linguine and i had home made steak and ale pie and chips which i totally enjoyed and my wife said the sea food linguine was on par if not better than the Italian resterant we ate at the night before. We had a great night here, and the staff were so friendly and made us really welcome and a big shout out to Jack who is a topman, and we wish you we'll in you pursuit of your new career. All in all, it is a great warm and friendly place to have a drink and something to eat we will defernatly be going back

Went here today had fish n chips had to wait a while for it to come when it did the chips were warmed up ones and the fish was loads of batter hardly any fish in it considering it’s a fishing village I’ve had better in Manchester… lukewarm and cost £40 for my and my husband disappointed to say the least didn’t seem any point in saying anything we were hungry so ate it and left

Staying in Padstow last week with family inc our 2 labs. Found this pub by chance and we ended up eating here 3 times . Food was fab especially the sea bass , monkfish and seafood linguine . Burger was good too. Very reasonably priced and staff were very attentive and helpful. It’s just a great authentic pub . You can’t book a table but let the staff know you’re there and they’ll ensure you get one soon . No complaints at all about this place, definitely recommended . PS…. I didn’t see a crab sandwich on the menu but if this is what you want in Padstow then be prepared to pay high price anywhere you go. Bageyes reviewer - you need to have a word with yourself , stop moaning, get a life. Don’t give unnecessary bad reviews about places that obviously try hard, serve good food and give great service .

16pound for a crab sandwich and 5pound a bowl of chips 14 pound for glass of wine and glass of lemonade disgusting not even nice shell in the crab

Found this pub online. We were looking for a family friendly pub that could deal with food prep for 2 children who had nut and sesame allergy. The staff were very helpful and spoke to my daughter in a reassuring manner. Knowledge of food content/preparation was good. There were 7 people in our group. There is one area allocated to families with larger tables which made our meal more ralaxed. A good selection of meals at reasonable prices. The quality of food was good, as was the service. The staff having the knowledge re the meals and allergen possibilities is really helpful. This allows a rare opportunity for us to eat out as a family. Thank you 😊

Very friendly atmosphere. Piano player was excellent

Had a Sunday roast here. Asked for the 18.00 pound one and a side dish of cauliflower and brocolli cheese . Just the two if us and 2 dogs. Was disappointed in it. Says on menu stuffing with roast didn't have any. The vegetables were so small a child could have eaten it. One thinnest parsnip you have ever seen. Looked like it had bern boiled. Not great flavours. And cartot thinnest you have ever seen. The bedt part was the side order with it. At least it had some flavour. Overpriced and flavourless. The young lad that bought my dogs over some treats was very polite and friendly. Apart from that wouldn't recommend Sunday roast.

We had an excellent dining experience here last night.The staff were great, helpfull ,fun and Jane was the epitome of great customer service, and made the meal for us.The Steak and ale pie was to die for and the beef dripping cooked chips were just fantastic my son is still going on about how great they were. We are here three times during our week’s stay in town, 2x dinners and 1x lunch. All meals were fantastic, although take note, chips are cooked in dripping! Highly recommend the pie, the ploughman’s and the mussels. Harry the barman was fantastic with my daughter, as were the other staff. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Amazing staff, amazing food and atmosphere. The local feeling but so very welcoming. Would definitely come back again and recommend it to anyone. Main, pudding and drinks we had.

Says there dog friendly but defo not we got kicked out because our dog was harmlessly barking at a dog next to us the woman next to us giving us dirty looks and apparently people were complaining. The woman was rude about telling us to go out side. Will do be going back here we spent £100+ and even had to have our puddings in takeaway packaging because they refused to give us a refund as they were already cooked but you wanted us to leave? Absolutely fuming we come here every year never any problems but never seen this woman before and she’s the one that was rude and told us to leave. Rest of staff member seemed fine and no one else had a problem. And the food was really nice so this is really disappointing.

Loved it here, the food was lovely, the plates were ferociously hot, but the food was beautiful. Staff were very friendly, the locals were friendly and spoke to us, they made a fuss of the dog, who was welcomed in too. There is a good range of drinks, a pool table should you fancy a game and a lovely friendly atmosphere. We returned two days later on our last night as there was live music, the pub was extremely busy, again the staff were great, we were served quick, considering how busy it was and another fantastic night was had. Definitely check out Harbour Inn.
