Lovely place but very expensive. The staff were amazing but the food let's the place down. £9.70 for a glass of wine. The sizzling prawns were underwhelming. Six prawns and two slices of hard baguette. Mussels were laced in garlic and most of then were closed. Didn't meet expectations 😕

We were told about this pub after it was highly recommended by a local dog walker who we chatted with during our stopover. She explained that it was super dog friendly and the staff were great there too. She wasn't wrong. We went in around 11:30am and there were a handful of people in the place. The fire was roaring and the feel of the place was fantastic. My wife got me a pint of real ale and the dog a bottle of, 'Bottom Sniffer' dog beer too. It even came with a bowl and an individually wrapped chew. We ordered our food from a very inviting menu and weren't disappointed when it arrived. The food was fantastic. The lady serving could not have been nicer. Her name was Sue and she was a genuine delight to talk with. We told her how nice the food was and she named the staff working in the kitchen that day. Sadly, I forget their details, but I thank you all as a team. By the time we left, the pub was full. We wished we could have stayed longer, but our time was limited. However, we will be back. 5 star review... I wish there were more stars to give.

There are many places to eat in Padstow from celebrity chef venues to cafes. The Harbour Inn is a traditional pub and offers good food at reasonable prices. It was well staffed with prompt service. What I really liked as a treat, was the fish and chips using freshly caught fish and chips cooked in beef dripping giving a true 1950s flavour. Also has local (St Austell) pump beers as well as many other beers.

Lovely old world pub feeling, where we were treated with a big friendly smiley staff and shown to a vacant table. Our food was delivered by another smiley staff member and nothing seemed to be too much for her. My wife had the Porthtilly muscles of which she said were excellent. I had fish and chips, being allergic to shellfish. I must say the fish was very tasty in a good crisp batter but a little greasy the chips likewise. A good time was had and we certainly intend to return again.

Lovely staff dog friendly with water bowls and treats available great selection of food great tasting with good prices drinks good price as well in a nice quiet spot just ofsett from the harbour about 20m so it's not so busy you won't get a table. Also they have live music if that's your thing overall a great pub with brilliant atmosphere. Side note when we ordered our food the first thing the barmaid said was "any allergies which I thought was rather prompt of them to be so on it with customer food safety especially when it's the customer responsibility to ensure they tell them instead.

We ate at the Harbour Inn twice during our recent stay in Padstow. From the welcome to the atmosphere to the perfectly chilled and sensibly priced white wine to best of all the food. Outstanding ! We had the steak pie on our first night. Filling tender and proper shortcrust pastry on top and bottom. Fish and chips equally top notch. It's real testament to any pub as to how they execute staple dishes. Both hit the brief full on. A welcoming and warming atmosphere completed both visits. So nice to walk in to a pub and be properly welcomed. Well done guys

We went round the pubs in padstow looking for something to eat and it was very quiet in all of them. We kept looking and went to the Harbour Inn. When we walked in, the place was full, and we were lucky to get a seat. There was a man playing on the piano who was exceptionally he could play anything and did requests. We ordered food my wife had seafood linguine and i had home made steak and ale pie and chips which i totally enjoyed and my wife said the sea food linguine was on par if not better than the Italian resterant we ate at the night before. We had a great night here, and the staff were so friendly and made us really welcome and a big shout out to Jack who is a topman, and we wish you we'll in you pursuit of your new career. Staying in Padstow last week with family inc our 2 labs. Found this pub by chance and we ended up eating here 3 times . Food was fab especially the sea bass , monkfish and seafood linguine . Burger was good too. Very reasonably priced and staff were very attentive and helpful. It’s just a great authentic pub . You can’t book a table but let the staff know you’re there and they’ll ensure you get one soon . No complaints at all about this place, definitely recommended . PS…. I didn’t see a crab sandwich on the menu but if this is what you want in Padstow then be prepared to pay high price anywhere you go. Bageyes reviewer - you need to have a word with yourself , stop moaning, get a life. Don’t give unnecessary bad reviews about places that obviously try hard, serve good food and give great service .

Ah, the Harbour Inn in Padstow. Picture this: after a fortnight of dining at establishments that flaunt their Michelin stars with all the subtlety of a peacock in full plume, you find yourself in this unassuming gem. It’s as if the culinary cosmos conspired to surprise you with a revelation. The Blue Ribbon Burger is, without question, the zenith of the gastropub experience. Imagine, if you will, a burger so perfectly constructed that it could be presented as an art piece, only it tastes even better than it looks. It was as if the culinary gods themselves had assembled it for a divine, albeit slightly greasy, intervention. The Harbour Inn is a quintessential English pub – cozy, warm, and unpretentious, with an atmosphere that suggests genuine care rather than affectation. It boasts a splendid assortment of beers, all well-kept. And for those who are abstaining, the non-alcoholic options are far from an afterthought. Service here is brisk yet personable, the sort of friendly efficiency that suggests the staff enjoy their work, or at least are proficient at hiding their disdain for your dietary whims. Adding to the charm is the dog-friendly policy, which is not merely lip service but includes an entire menu designed for the canine connoisseur. It’s a rarity to see such consideration for man's best friend, and it adds an unexpected layer of delight. So, while the Michelin brigade may strut about in their star-studded finery, the Harbour Inn quietly asserts that sometimes the best meal in town is the one served with a smile and a well-kept pint.

Found this pub online. We were looking for a family friendly pub that could deal with food prep for 2 children who had nut and sesame allergy. The staff were very helpful and spoke to my daughter in a reassuring manner. Knowledge of food content/preparation was good. There were 7 people in our group. There is one area allocated to families with larger tables which made our meal more ralaxed. A good selection of meals at reasonable prices. The quality of food was good, as was the service. The staff having the knowledge re the meals and allergen possibilities is really helpful. This allows a rare opportunity for us to eat out as a family. Thank you 😊

Had a Sunday roast here. Asked for the 18.00 pound one and a side dish of cauliflower and brocolli cheese . Just the two if us and 2 dogs. Was disappointed in it. Says on menu stuffing with roast didn't have any. The vegetables were so small a child could have eaten it. One thinnest parsnip you have ever seen. Looked like it had bern boiled. Not great flavours. And cartot thinnest you have ever seen. The bedt part was the side order with it. At least it had some flavour. Overpriced and flavourless. The young lad that bought my dogs over some treats was very polite and friendly. Apart from that wouldn't recommend Sunday roast.

The woman was rude about telling us to go out side. Will do be going back here we spent £100+ and even had to have our puddings in takeaway packaging because they refused to give us a refund as they were already cooked but you wanted us to leave? Absolutely fuming we come here every year never any problems but never seen this woman before and she’s the one that was rude and told us to leave. After waiting an hour for food I got a sandwich that I could’ve made at home in 5 mins before I left. (The wait was down to ordering mussels and the staff did apologise) I get it’s not the most expensive item on the menu and most people probably order seafood but I get better from the local cafe or garden centre for less. What is that side salad too? That’s meant to be a ‘dressed salad’ and it was literally 3 lettuce leaves not even separated, a quarter of a tomato with no dressing. Not forgetting the 1/4 of a slice of cucumber. Was going to give 3 stars because the fish and chips my partner got was apparently rather good but in writing this I just think how mad it is a place that could easily do better actually served a school packed lunch level sandwich for just under £9. I think even at £12 or so, if it had a better side salad, some nicer bread and perhaps a filling that didn’t taste like I could get it all from the Tescos basics range I’d have probably been quite satisfied. Likewise if it was £4-6 and I was in a slightly rundown cafe it would probably have met expectations.

Being in Padstow, I fancied a pint and crab sandwich, which was advertised outside this lovely looking pub, but no prices listed. On ordering at the bar, I was charged £23.10 for the pint of lager and the sandwich. I thought that this was expensive but didn't want to prejudge the food nor cancel my order to save me from embarrassment. In anticipation, I was expecting at least half a dressed crab and a spectacular sandwich. I was so disappointed when my sandwich arrived 😩. There must have been less than a teaspoon of Crab Paste spread in it. NO white crab meat to be seen, served with a few salted Crisps. I must say that I feel completely taken for a fool and conned. It spoiled my visit to Padstow and has played on my mind to publish this review.

Start with the positive, nice selection of beers, nice enough for a drink and quite friendly staff. But paid £17 for probably the worst roast dinner I've had since school. One slice of beef, three potatoes, 1/8th of a carrot, 1/8th of a parsnip, one floret of broccoli and gravy (plenty of it, the only positive). And none of it well cooked either. Our complaints were met with disinterest from staff. Not a good experience unfortunately. **Have contacted to complain on response to the useless reply below..will update when I hear back.**

We returned to padstow like we do every year (all the way from Bude) as it’s a significant place in our journey together, we made the trip specifically for a crab sandwich, ideal we thought with the “premium crab sandwich” board on the corner, popped my head in to see if the dog was allowed and the lad behind the bar was as welcoming and friendly as you could ask for. Good start and credit to him, waited for a short time with a drink until the kitchen was open and ordered the eye watering £16 premium crab sandwich. That’s where the good ended, a premium sandwich I’d expect to be made from a fresh loaf of quality bread(the bakery up the road for example) and something you look at and smile, but no, it’s chucked together with super market medium sliced rubbish and comes with a few crisps and a bit of salad drowning in some sort of paint stripper dressing, the filling….. not quite what was expected either, a frugal smear of crab and plenty of crunchy bits of cartilage and shell to test the fillings out on with no hint of lemon mayo either, as a local I was embarrassed that the visitors get ripped off like this and certainly won’t be returning, the beef dripping chips were good, the garlic bread unfortunately soggy and cold, disappointed to say the least, and not doing padstow justice for the beautiful place that it is.

Warm welcome, delicious food and dog and family friendly! The Harbour Inn fish stew and catch of the day (sea bass) were highlights but all food was fresh, piping hot and tasty! We will be back - thank you for having us!

Fabulous pub/restaurant in Padstow harbour. Lovely ambience, live music, super friendly and helpful staff. Visited three times during a week's stay in area. Food is wonderful, highly recommend the steak and ale pie. Very large portion absolutely packed with steak, wonderful gravy. Special mention to waitress Jayne and chefs Ben and Shane. We will definitely be back. Dog friendly too 👌🐕

What a superb experience. Lovely friendly staff. Ruth , Jane and Frankie , so welcoming . We had a meal. Well can truly say the BEST fish and chips I’ve had. The batter on the fish was something to be experienced. Thin , light and did not overpower the delicious fish , something that usually happens. I’m not a “ foodie “ but I do know what I enjoy so a big THANK YOU to Ben the Chef , obviously a talented young man. My husband had the ‘ catch of the day ‘ - Cod , unbattered with fresh vegetables. Again his verdict on his meal - superb. A lovely pub and very well worth a visit.

The Harbour inn is a very nice, I like the proper old pub look, it makes for a good pub atmosphere, The menu has something for everyone, I had the scampi, portions are a good size and good value, they also have a separate limited menu with two meals for£20. Definitely recommend a visit.

Fantastic pub with outstanding food and drinks. First rate service and great staff. Can highly recommend the steak pie with chips and seasonal vegetables and also the scampi. There’s even doggy beer and treats It doesn’t get any better than this.

Love this pub, really welcoming and friendly, spent every evening of a 7 day break here after trying all the pubs in Padstow. Thursday live music was brilliant, busy and full of locals but so friendly. Got through so much Korev and Carslberg and never a duff pint! We've walked past for so many years, so glad we stopped by last year as it's still as good..if not better.

Friendly atmosphere with a good selection on the menu. Live music was very enjoyable. Try the Blue Ribbon pale ale, brewed specially for the inn.

Here on business, off season so mainly locals, this would obviously be different during the peak season, recommended.

We had a lovely meal here using the offer that was advertised. The food was delicious and quick to be served. It was clean and tidy in there and the staff were all very friendly. I would return again and recommend to others.

I love this place. Maybe I'm a bit biased as I grew up in st Ives but the location and the atmosphere especially during winter with the two lovely log burners set in grand old inglenook fire place really gives a cosy old traditional feel. The owner and staff were very friendly. I haven't tried the food yet but certainly will.

We've been going to the sloop for many years and it's become more or less part of a tradition to go there for a drink.Me and ma went at lunch time and just wanted a sandwich to share, we ordered a crab sandwich which when it came was just a sandwich with some watercress on a warm plate , there was more watercress in the sandwich than crab.We were so disappointed. We had a wine, an orange juice and lemonade and the sandwich , it was £30!! We don't mind paying the price for something good but this was not good.Gutted to be giving this review 🥲 We're not tourists , we live in Hayle so quite regular to St Ives.

Tonight I experienced the best customer service from your wonderful staff. Whilst they were preparing to close the store, I explained that my dad was very ill in hospital and my mum had requested a coffee. The staff went over and above to make sure I had everything I needed. Thank you so much. They made a very bad week much brighter. Please pass on my thanks to your staff.
