There is nowhere I would rather eat out - anywhere! The food is out of this world - I am a regular, and each time it keeps getting better and better, from the ever changing main menu to the delicious cakes and beautiful raw vegan cake bars. The food is so tasty and healthy that you feel completely nourished and looked after, knowing that is doing you so much good. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and gentle and the beautiful courtyard garden is an oasis of calm. Ady, Emily and their team are incredible!

Super coffee stop in the middle of Kinsgbridge right opposite the bus station. Up on the first floor (there's an art gallery downstairs), it's sort of arty with individual decor. There's a lovely garden area out back too. Great coffee, super cakes, friendly service. Credit cards only.

Be aware: this cafe serves cooked food until 2pm! The board outside says -3pm but they stop cooking at 2, without going overboard with details it'll be enough to say that I decided at 1.30 to leave it for a while!! So annoying. Would like to review the whole thing, it looked nice!

We had previously visited and enjoyed our visit. I get the impression that it has changed management as it didn't have the same friendly welcome as before. The 3 of us order meals and drinks, the 2 hot drinks came before the food but no sign of the iced coffee. We patiently waited as we could see they were busy at the till. When the food arrived, the lady didn't ask if we had everything but I said excuse me, and explained we haven't received one of the drinks. Her reply was "I work in the kitchen" in a disinterested tone and walked away. I then left my food to enquire about the drink. When the person who took our order arrived she didn't apologise but said I'll need to see it's been put through the till. Making us feel like they thought we were trying to fraud them out of a drink! When the iced drink arrived with a 3rd member of staff they were nice but obviously unaware of the build up, so no apology was offered. The food was reasonably good and I would return but I definitely won't because of the awful feeling created by the staff, completely ruining out meal. Sad really, I appreciate we all have bad days but don't take it out on paying customers and expect them to return.

We were on holiday in Devon and just visiting Kingsbridge for the day. We happened upon this cafe and I can honestly say the lunch was one of the best I've ever had, vegetarian or not. It's a warm and cheerful place with a great choice of food and drinks. We had the sweet potato, lime and coconut soup which was delicious, served with warm home-made ciabatta bread to die for. We also had a fennel and feta tart which was also delicious, and although I don't normally like chickpeas, I was surprised to find I really enjoyed them in the salad. You can tell that the food is prepared with real passion and care to detail. If I lived near this cafe I'd be going there on a very regular basis. A fabulous place.

A lovely, bright and cheery cafe, somewhat tucked away on the first floor of the Harbour House yoga and arts centre. Open from breakfast through to afternoon tea and cake. And open when the centre is open. Nice contemporary, slightly funky, decor, a charming courtyard garden at ground level and dog friendly. A relaxed and informal vibe, books and magazines to read, comfortable for solo dining as well as in company. The modern, rustic style food is freshly cooked and prepared on site (generally by the cafe owner) as far as I can see. Food is delicious, wholesome, full of flavour and ample in portion size, and served promptly. It was difficult to make a choice as everything on offer was so tempting!

Lunches are great too, I had a butternut squash sage red pepper and tomato pizza with salad, the pizza was made with a base of squash and light cheese its savoury on a spelt bread base, never had that before but its savoury and tasty without being too rich or heavy, I think thats how I would sum up all the food here.A destination cafe for me now!

They were very welcoming with a wide selection of teas, coffees, drinks, light bites and cakes. I ordered the tomato and basil soup with gluten free bread. The soup was lovely, freshly made and tasty and the bread was light and came with a proper chunk of butter on the side. I like the Harbour House Cafe, it has a pleasant atmosphere and I have eaten there many times and enjoyed the food. It has recently changed hands and I went there for lunch on a sunny warm day in May. Two of us had the vegetable curry and two had the frittata. The food was fine and nicely made but rather lacking in flavour. The curry would have benefitted from a bit more spice and perhaps some mango chutney. The frittata would have been more interesting if it had been served with some local chutney to give it a bit more flavour, perhaps also some more herbs in the mix.

The member of staff who served our tea did apologise and promptly wiped the table down. The menu looked very nice and we may well pay this noce little place a further visit in the future. Nice atmosphere and lovely cake and cup of tea!

I didn't know that there were new owners, so was pleasantly surprised when I went in yesterday to find a bright, much improved decor and friendlier welcome. The menu is still veggie, but reduced to about 8 daily choices on the chalk board. I had a broccoli and spring onion tart with salad and a wodge of sour dough bread. Service was very quick and the portion size much better value than previously. I didn't have afters but there were some yummy looking cakes on offer. A much improved atmosphere. I hadn't been in for ages, finding it a bit expensive and service slow when you are on a tight lunch break, but shall be coming back asap.

It looks lovely after it's been refreshed. It has a beautiful garden and nice space in side. Delicious cakes and good vegetarian food. My tea was so good, real dried fruits instead of tea bags, very nice :) and smiling, happy staff make you feel very welcome.

Ordered a tea, coffee and a tap water from the counter and was told it would be brought to our table in the garden. This duly was done but without the water. When I asked about this I was told " jug is upstairs if you want it....." which is both unhelpful and rather rude so would not return although setting and drinks were fine.

The food is locally sourced and several vegetarian choices with an excellent soup of the day always on offer. Superb outside seating area when the weather is fine and, sometimes, an art exhibition going on at ground floor level and lots of information on local classes, t'ai chi, writing, painting etc: Very helpful staff.

We took my mother in law here for lunch on a weekend trip to Devon as we like vegetarian food. Impressions weren't great from the beginning with dirty tablecloths, but the menu looked nice. Bad start when my husband was overcharged and the waitress denied it. Then a very large party who appeared to be relatives of the cafe came in and were served immediately. They were so noisy that we moved out to the garden. We were finally served an almost cold cappuccino. Mother in law got her tea cake ( cold), almost thrown across the table. Finally, after complaining, our food came after nearly an hour! Overall awful experience, the cafe is totally disorganised and certainly doesn't seem interested in customer service.

We always enjoy going to Harbour House, for the Art Exhibitions and the great cafe. The coffee is excellent and the food very tempting. It is lovely to sit out under a sun brolly in the garden and have a coffee and cake. There are lots of places to have a light meal and tea and coffee in Kingsbridge but I think Harbour House cafe is the top one.

When visiting the area we noticed their sign after finding somewhere to park.3.15 thursdat half term when we climbed the stairs to cafe H ow disappointed we were to find CLOSEDsign.Surely this, is too early to close, especially when i noticed there was a costa coffee nearby,no wonder unlike Totnes which fought hard against one coming there had cafes open till much later. So we were a very disappointed vegetarian couple starving hungry having done a long walk nearby,.Come on get real and have longer opening hours. Then you will have trade.

Nice and cosy setting - perfect to visit after having explored the Harbour House gallery downstairs. Friendly service. Had cheese and cherry tomato toasties and really enjoyed the brie and cranberry Panini. Not too sure about the cappuccinos.

Three of us came for lunch on a Saturday during covid restrictions. The outside part under canvas was full so we waited at one of the un-covered seats with our menu until a table was free.We were then seated in the dry and had an enjoyable meal followed by cake. The food was tasty and the service was friendly and efficient - we all enjoyed our meal.We didn't realise it was dog friendly, which I would usually avoid as I prefer not to have animals wandering around when I am eating.

Often stop for a coffee when visiting Totnes on farmers' market day. Outside only during extended lockdown hysteria. Hospitality has been thrown under a bus. Grab a table and chairs on the pavement in the sunshine and enjoy their range of absolutely delicious and lush savouries or soup of the day. Lovely team.
