Had evening dinner here a few times, as part of a stay at the hotel. The food and friendly service each night were excellent. It is particularly good for fish/seafood. Thanks go to all involved.

We dined here as a family of 7. The restaurant is in a beautiful location, we had a table in the window overlooking the bay. Unfortunately our dining experience did not match the quality of the location. We sat at the table for 30 minutes before we were offered a drink and that was only after asking 2 different servers to take our order. One of our party ordered a mocktail since he was the designated driver and was given an alcoholic drink. Both water bottles and wine were plonked on our table without being opened. Red wine glasses were provided with the bottle we ordered, however the glasses already on the table were not cleared. The ‘artisan’ bread board was just chopped up granary bread. The starters were very good- particularly the see bass ceviche, however the plates were only cleared as our mains were served. Our mains were average and a little overpriced for the quality. We sat for at least 15 minutes after completing eating before the table was cleared, and again this was only after asking. We declined dessert and asked for the bill which was bought to us by the manager. When we declined to pay the service charge, instead of trying to make amends, he became very angry blaming other guests for arriving at the wrong time and telling us we should have spoken to him earlier in the evening - he had not been visible until this point. Overall a disappointing experience given the £400 bill.

Perfect lunch on a sunny day in Salcombe. Good service, ambience & food in a delightful setting, right next to a beach. We chose to sit inside the restaurant as it was air conditioned but it’s lovely to sit outside when it’s a sunny day.

Staying nearby and booked a meal for a Friday evening. Staff polite and friendly. Problems arose when noone came to take drinks order, someone got sat behind us a few minutes after we arrived, and had their drinks and food taken before us. After eventually ordering the food came and the portions were small, home made thick cut chips were all undercooked and hard, steak came without a steakknife which had to be chased up, and all in all for a +£100 meal it was poor.

Lovely location overlooking the beach and sea, outside seating is available with the inside restaurant having big floor to ceiling windows. We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and ate in the restaurant for 2 of those nights and 3 breakfasts. The restaurant a la carte menu has a good choice of seafood, fish, burgers, steak, chicken and a few vegetables dishes with a big emphasis on the seafood and fish. There was also a 3 course set menu for £35. The first night my mussels starter was lovely with plenty of big juicy mussels, they then got my sea bass muddled up with someone else’s cod which was served on the same chorizo, white beans and chickpeas, I thought it was a bit chunky for sea bass but too late to swap them as I’d already cut mine so I assume the poor person who’s cod it was had to wait for another one to be cooked. The second night I’d said it was our 10th wedding anniversary celebration so we did get a glass of complimentary fizz which was a nice touch. The scallops starter was lovely but the ribeye steak was nothing special. Breakfast we had to chase up our coffee cafetière on 2 mornings, surely that’s not that difficult to prepare or get. Breakfast is continental with fruit, yogurts, cold meats, cheeses, granolas, cereals, pastries, cakes and a self service toast station. Monday morning several platters were empty and there were no plates or bowls left. Staff were nice enough but seemed to have certain duties and could only clear and clean tables not take orders which was frustrating when you’ve been waiting ages for someone to take your cooked breakfast order and they say I’ll go and get someone, again is it that difficult to take an order? A cooked breakfast was £10 extra regardless of whether you had a full English or eggs on toast. Our third night we went across to the South Sands hotel and had great service and food.

Dined here as non residents one evening. Allowed to use the car park as we had a reservation. Thoroughly enjoyed all meals and desserts ordered. Beautiful place and location with lovely staff. No strict dress code, just smart casual. Price didn’t feel overinflated considering the location.

Went for a meal on our first night. Wish we hadn’t. Expensive, which one expects. But small portions. And mediocre quality and taste. I had the trawlermans burger, which was literally a small fillet of fish in a bap, lots of tartare sauce. No salad or garnish. Pretty tasteless, poor presentation, very unimpressive. Nice chips I guess. And £14 for 4 small scallops? Please…

Great restaurant and fabulous food . I attended this restaurant with my lovely friend for her Birthday and it was a gorgeous experience we had some amazing cocktails followed by dinner . The restaurant staff were very friendly especially Mikolaj who attended to our every needs. The atmosphere was splendid and the sea view is absolutely breathtaking. I would highly recommend Harbour Beach Club .

The hotel is really let down by its restaurant. The service and quality of food was very poor, with an unimaginative range of food on the buffet table at breakfast time. Waiters were seemingly determined to walk past our table without making eye contact. Low point was a waiter bringing us a plate of burnt toast - by that stage we’d lost the will to ask him to him have another go. Luckily the restaurant at a nearby hotel - the South Sands - was excellent.

Warm friendly welcome on arrival to the restaurant. Great views looking out towards the hotel and South Sands Beach. We had breakfast staying at the hotel, lots of choice from cold and hot foods amazing quality. Also had dinner which would recommend booking before arriving via phone or website as can get busy. Great menu choice from drinks to food. From starter, main and dessert all food was delicious and lovley atmosphere.

The worst and most unwelcoming place. Full off snobbery to put it politely. Was told it was full because we weren’t a ‘resident’ and shoulders were shrugged at us. Disgusting and will be letting anyone I know not to come to this place. Never been treated so appallingly by staff pretending to be posh.

My mum and my wife attended the spa for my mums birthday which by all accounts was excellent. Staying on for lunch was the worst idea ever……. Seated at a table we were given one menu between 4 and about 30 seconds to choose. Waiter very unimpressed when we asked for more time. Think we were the last table for lunch. When the waiter returned and we placed our order we were informed that our mains selections were unavailable. This would have been useful information as we shared our menu. Not wanting to take up any more of the waiters precious time we ordered 3 “panic” burgers and the plant based burger. Starters arrived, scallops good, tiger prawns good, beet salad good….things were looking up and we were having a laugh about our grumpy waiter. A different chap arrived with our mains and we were asked the standard would you like any sauces question. The usual tomato sauce and Mayo were asked for. 5 minute went by. No sign. Asked a different waitress and while the next 5 minutes were passing, chips going cold, I lifted the lid on my burger to see what can only be described as a meatball in a bun. It was shocking. I get that the chef might think cooking burgers is beneath him but if that’s the case make sure you’ve got enough of the other stuff on your menu or don’t put them on your menu. No floor staff could now be found so I took my meatball in a bun to the bar where our original waiter was hiding. He agreed that it was not acceptable and took it off to the kitchen to show the chef. He returned with my plate of “food” and said the chef would cook me something else. Why? There was nothing else to cook. By now the whole tables food was cold. Just to point out the other 2 burgers were of same meatball size. Maybe they didn’t have enough burgers and divided one between 3 to try and get away with it. An aside here….if you are going to offer a plant based burger make it yourself, it’s not hard, or at least buy in a better one than the rubber my wife was served up. In the end there was no charge for the food and our drinks were discounted but this is hardly the point. We all left hungry and the day was a bust. We received a voicemail on the way home from the general manager. I assume in an attempt to avoid this review. Maybe leave a direct number to call back on because being on hold twice while waiting for reception to answer is not a good look when the customer is already not impressed. I gave up and think this lot should too

Called the restaurant 3 times, they were wanting for the driver to collect. Arrived more than 30 minutes late even though it was marked as delivered at 6.30 but didn't get here until 7pm. I called restaurant to check and it hadn't been collected yet

Lovely walk to an old haunt that my family used to frequent in the 70’s. It still has the same charm. We all ordered the fish and chips and were not disappointed.

Strange but quaint place to get to. Be prepared for a staircase, a handrail on both sides, and you'll need it to, to climb upstairs. Once upstairs, we were approached by a smiling member of staff, who said, "Sit where you like." The floor slopes, but once seated, it seems you forget. We all had Devon cream & jam scone with a cup of coffee each. Wow, the scone freshly made earlier, was warm. It just melted in your mouth. Once you got the jam & cream on, or is it cream & jam. My aunt & I had a latte & my husband & uncle had a cappuccino. Stand carefully for the loo, you may fall. There is only one unisex toilet. We paid and left. Back down the staircase again....the restaurant is above a shop, which is situated by the museum. Not for disabled people..though I made it with my walking stick. No car parking.
