Happy Valley Fish and Chips in Basingstoke and Deane

Chips undercooked and fish overcooked. £22 on an awful dinner. My Dad and I threw most of it in the bin. 😔

Got the special offer of feed 2 for £10 to try and rival the other new fish and chip shop in Tadley. Everything was soggy and lacked seasoning so tasted so bland. The batter on the fish wasn’t at all crispy whatsoever. Would’ve been a 1 star if it wasn’t for the value for money offer.

Oh dear....pretty poor overcooked chips. I'm afraid that I won't be heading back here any time soon.

Went there yesterday with large order for 8. Had a great choice. All fish was fresh and tasty. Good amount of chips which were nice and the curry sauce was delicious. Service was quick. Would definitely go back.

A complete waste of over £21 for 3 fish and chips and curry sauce. The chips looked liked they were the left overs from dinner time, just chucked in the fat to reheat. Was so disgusting we ended up throwing the whole lot in the bin as it was just not edible. Will never go there again, and would suggest people to think twice before buying anything from there.

Great freshly fried fish and chips. They do a £5 special of fish and chips and mushy peas/curry sauce which is great value

Our regular go to for takeaway fish and chips. Good value. Quick and friendly service. Social distancing observed but staff unmasked. Not an issue as you are not in close contact.

Awful chips fish dreadful, and so bad we threw them away. The worst fish & chips I’ve ever had, they should be ashamed.

This is the worst fish and chip placed that I have visited. Generous portion of chips, most of which are discarded. Why is it still going?

Don't often have fish and chips but when we do we always come here. Yesterday it was very busy, which is always a good sign, and again it was a good decision. Portion size is huge, with large chips sufficient for three people. The fish ( skinless and boneless cod, and haddock) were cooked to order and the batter was light and thinly coated, with the fish still moist and juicy. Chips, whilst plentiful, could have been a bit crispier, but this tends to be a 'failure' at most chips shops. The pea fritter was also cooked well. Once taken out of their wrappings, chips, fish and fritter did not have loads of fat left on them - the paper having absorbed it - and they were a joy to eat. Overall worth going back to as good value and well cooked!

Good place for fish and chips well cooked. There was a descent pice of fish inside a very good chrisp batter with proper chips.

Fish great, chips to die for and lovely staff. Also you can get Huss which is also a bonus. The fish is always cooked to perfection and the chips ar not overly fried.

Been using this place for many years with a number of owners, and yes if you are lucky you will get something good and fresh. However increasingly have had more and more items that were dried up and well past when they should have been served. As a Take Away that you may eat a a drive away from purchase, you rely on being given fresh edible food, as finding one or more items inedible when you get home is a real pain, especially when the rest is good to drive to take an inedible item back spoils the rest. Now if that one item is for an adult you can usually suck it up and enjoy the rest. However when its your young sons Fishcake that has been there so long in the heated cabinet it has not only dried out it is burnt to the point he has fled to his room bawling his heart out, action is required, that will mean your meal gets spoiled, even though that was good and enjoyable To this end I may have been a little short and annoyed by time I returned to the shop. What I did not expect was the immediate scowl that started to appear as well as serving person starting on the offensive, this was joined in with the rest of the staff throwing insults and the resulting replacement being thrown at me. A lovely take away doing really delicious fish & chips. Prices are very competitive and food is very fresh. We visit here regularly.

Great fish and chips what is also nice is they do a half fish portion which is great for those with smaller appetites. Ford was produced quickly and was super tasty. Great place
