Happy Valley in Gwynedd

I used to eat here all the time but the food has gone downhill. I'm not sure if it's due to the change of cooking oil as they now use rapeseed. This oil isn't a good oil. It's really bad for you. The food tastes really greasy. This Chinese was the best one locally but now it's terrible. I tried 3 weekends in a row eating the same dish and I couldn't eat it each time. My family also noticed a change in the food with exception the the chicken curry. Unfortunately we won't eat here anymore as it is expensive and for the price we are paying we would expect the food to be good. As I said, it could be the oil but if it's not the oil then whatever has been changed has lost custom. Not just myself as some of my friends have stopped eating there also. I now travel to foos caernarfon instead. It's much more expensive but excellent food.

We ordered salt&pepper chips,salt&chilli ribs and some chips and curry sauce. The ribs were so rubbery that i couldn’t even tear them apart, trying to chew them was a task and a half. Chips were undercooked. In the salt&pepper chips I could barely find the chips under all the garlic. I’m not sure why they had a batter on the ribs either, it didn’t have any flavour whatsoever.

Awful food. Awful customer service Food was overpriced and basic. Small portions and extortionate prices. Chinese woman very rude to her staff in front of customers. The sausages were freezing and my 2 kids didn't eat the chips as they were green and undercooked.wouldnt recommend as dog food let alone human food

Got a takeaway from Happy Valley while staying in Penygroes and were very pleased! Easy to order and collect, very friendly staff, good value for money and the food was delicious.

First Take-Away since before Lockdown and we were not disappointed Very well organised following Covid-19 regulations. Excellent communication. Lovely food. Will call again!

Been coming here on and off for some years. However, visited 20/08/20 and ordered the chicken cantonese. Bits of chicken with sliced onions and what appeared and tasted like a pre-bought disgusting pink sauce. Had to wait an hour and wasn’t exactly cheap either! Sorry guys but really disappointed

Chinese Happy Valey of Pennygroes has the best reputation in the area! Customer service is excellent accurate _food always delicious.Its a reason to stay in this area definately!!congratulations to the chef and the whole team!!! Bravo !!

Lovely helpful staff and a lovely meal. Much recommended. large portions and extremely tasty. By far the best Chinese takeaway in the area by far.

I've bought from here on numerous occasions and not once can I fault it. Fast service always and very tasty food. By far the best in the area. Salt & pepper chips are always to die for, and the chicken curry is full of flavour just how it should be !

I went last week with my husband and was served by a young lad. Usually the owners serve but as it was busy i assume they hired extra help. He was very polite and after i finished ordering and paying my husband asked me to order some duck. I added to my order and paid with my card. The owner lady came to get the order from the new staff member and he said the duck order was with my other order. She then scolded him quite nastily in front of myself and my husband because he let me use my card to pay and the transaction was under £10. Even though my other order was over £30. She was extremely disrespectful to him and also myself. After her tantrum about the transaction she stormed to the back kitchen. The food took nearly an hour and when we finally got home to eat it we were disappointed. It was not very nice and the rice was overcooked and clumped together. The food itself was edible. I cannot say it was great. The way she behaved was astonishing and after speaking to the person directly behind me who was also disgusted with how she spoke to her staff memeber i can say she has lost myself as a customer and also the person behind me. The food used to be nice from here but lately all they seem to care about is money. If they think it's acceptable to speak to staff the way she spoke to her staff in front of me i am worried on how she is when customers aren't in front of her. I always went elsewhere when her brother was serving as he was absolutely miserable but i will just avoid the place totally now. I have found a great chinese at the back of table table at the harbor in Caernafon that i never knew existed until tonight. I would recommend going there. I would certainly avoid Happy valley as the food and the service is not worth the price they charge.

I’ve lived in the area on and off for 42 years. My first taste of Chinese food came from this takeaway and I visit once a fortnight at least. Sarah the owner is warm, friendly and probablyKnows my order better than I do by now. The best Cantonese sweet and sour pork I’ve ever had.

Been coming here for a couple of years now when I’m in the area. Friendly and helpful staff . They do the best duck in plum I have ever had . Food is always tasty , plentiful and hot. We have tried various things off the menu and never been disappointed . We often recommend here to other campers on the site we stay on. Keep up the good work and I’ll see you again soon.

We stayed locally and used Happy Valley for a take away one night. The food quality was excellent, one of the best Chinese take away food I've had and given I come from the Midlands, I have lots of choice so to find this little gem and experience such good quality food was a very pleasant surprise. Good prices too and the food was ready to collect at exactly the time stated. It was quite popular, even on a Monday night.

The food was excellent and a service second to none. The staff were polite and helpful and my order was served in good time.

You can tell this place is going to be good by the amount of people queueing up especially at the weeknd! I know that peiple come from miles around as it’s the best one in a large circumference of miles!! It’s a matter of personal taste what you choose but everything is freshly cooked and very tasty!

The fact that there's a constant stream of local people coming in is always a good sign and the phone was going constantly on Fri night. The portions are big and the food is of a really high quality. I'd recommend phoning your oder through at weekend as there's always a queue.

No sé, pero me fue a ver qué alimentos podrían proporcionar una orden de 200 libras, pero cuando me dijeron que utilizaron el GMS en todo, YO ME. Me pase en GMS. Hubiera preferido una actitud de "podemos cocinar lo que te apetezca, sin nada que elegir no incluir. "tanto para mi idea de probar un establecimiento relativamente local con valoraciones aparentemente bueno de la prensa local para un evento temprano en el Año Nuevo. Para muchos, el GMS no es un problema, pero para mí tiene graves consecuencias.

Just had a very spicy chicken curry it was amazing, will be returning again as its only 3 miles away and convenient. Friendly staff too.

Happy Valley is the best Chinese takeaway I've had so far very generous portions and the food if full of flavours! This place is always busy so if you want a take away I would phone them very early

Never had a bad meal from here. Always great food and friendly staff and have a good selection of dishes to suit all tastes.

Have had take aways from here quite often and they are really tasty and plentiful. If you are phoning an order please allow plenty of time at busy periods. Last night we enjoyed the sharing starter for 2 with chicken chop suey and their own noodles which are by far the best we've had. Not too expensive either.

Friendly service, and they made a real effort to cook what we requested even though it wasn't on the menu. We all enjoyed our meals and found ourselves thoroughly stuffed and happy afterwards.
