Happy House in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

It was a pick up order, we waited over 30 minutes for our food. It was like they waited for us to arrive to cook it. We were picking up to take and have dinner with our friends, late was an understatement. Fuel and energy wasted, never again.

I’m afraid I’ve tried my upmost to try to support my local Chinese Takeaway on many occasions. Tonight, I ordered a takeaway of which was diabolical hence after a few mouthfuls of my 3 orders have ended up in my bin. My video will back up my complaint. Happy House, Pool, Redruth I’ve given you the benefit of doubt, I’ve now buttered toast to enjoy

I can understand being busy on Xmas eve. However when people place a order to collect don't say a time if you can have it ready. Also maybe think about not taking more orders till you have caught up. It took 25 mins to get from the door to the counter to ask if order was ready

We ordered a takeaway for New Year, probably not the best time to try anybody. The food arrived pretty much bang on time so that was excellent. The quality of the food was OK, although the chicken chow mien was not what you would expect at all very below par which was a shame as its the only thing our youngest wanted and he couldn't eat it. The other foods were pretty much the same as every other Chinese takeaway outlet!

I fancied a Chinese takeaway and this one is 2 minutes from my house. Order was placed over the phone and collect time was 20 minutes. When I arrived I only had to wait 2 minutes before my order was ready. Sweet and sour chicken, egg fried rice and a side of chips. Only a short journey home so the food was still very hot. Really tasty sweet and sour, nice chicken inside. Sometimes I have come across rubbery bits but not with this. The big surprise was the chips. I got these for my son to nibble on. A very big portion, more than filled a dinner plate and very nice. So nice that I went back a few days later just to order some chips.

We chose Happy House after trawling google looking for dinner options whilst staying in the area. Other options didn’t have particularly good reviews so opted for this as it had enough reviews to take a chance and try it out. Unfortunately it wasn’t the best, the food was quite greasy and lacked flavour. Salt and pepper chicken was coated pieces of chicken and some sliced chillies and garlic chucked on it with no flavour or spice to it. The final disappointment was when I discovered half way through my chow mien a piece of chicken bone! Gross.. Thankfully I noticed when I bit down and didn’t choke. Safe to say I stopped eating from that point. If I did live in the area I would not reorder from Happy House again.
