Hankies Marble Arch in City of London, Westminster

We had our wedding reception at Hankies and it was absolutely fantastic. The food, the atmosphere and the service all exceeded our expectations and our guests were raving about the food long after the event. A special thank you to Florian who was wonderful to work with – he was extremely responsive, reassured us that everything was in hand and delivered the most memorable event for us. We could not recommend Hankies and the team enough!

My friend and I walked a lot of placed before we chose Hankies and glad we made the selection, the staff is very polite and helpful and the food tasted real good, yes they are bit small portions but the taste exceptional. All the 3 courses we ordered from starters to mains to deserts I dont have any complaints on the food and the staff and I would give 5 rating for these. The tiny disappointment is we got a corner window table which is fantastic but there were all wires and adapters running through our legs, luckily neither I nor my friend tripped but it could happen if we haven't noticed. I have eaten here once previously (pre Covid) in the private dining room and it was great. Due to this I have booked the private dining room again later in the month for a birthday celebration and went this week to choose wines and have dinner. I have eaten in a Michelin Star Indian restaurant and this honestly surpassed it. The service is second to none, attentive but discreet and friendly. The food is is beyond all expectations- beautifully cooked, extremely flavoursome and we all loved the fact it was Tapas style so you could try several dishes - the Ghost ribeye was amazing as was the chicken ravioli. I am so looking forward to my booking at the end of the month. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you

This place is a rip off. We ordered kofta and they only gave one piece. I was shocked. Also the quantity of dal was very less. Very bad attitude to serve such less food for the price they charge. I am sure if they continue like this the restaurant will soon go out of business.

We booked the private dining room and restaurant for our wedding. Florin and the team surpassed our expectations. In the lead up to the wedding Florin was exceptionally helpful. He was always available and we loved that he was able to share his thoughts and ideas and we really felt he wanted our day to go well. The food was amazing and all our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the food. We will certainly be visiting the restaurant again.

We went for a dinner with the family. Food quality was really good but the portion sizes were tiny. It’s not what you pay for. Even one portion is not enough for 1 person and you pay a lot. The waiter and waitress were romancing in front of everyone which we found very weird.

We visited on Mother's Day for afternoon tea as a treat but we're a little disappointed with what we received. The hotel claims to be 'one of the finest afternoon tea establishments' in London - I do not agree. Our teas were just average. The sandwiches and scones were just OK but the cakes were very disappointing and looked nothing like advertised on their website. We got what appeared to be small squares of cake that had been cut from larger tray bakes, nothing particularly wrong with that but not as expected for a 5☆ hotel

I went there based on the reviews. The food was excellent, tapas size so you would have to order several of them. Nice decoration, quick service, healthy and tasty. I went there in 2019 but not sure why the system checks another date

Decent food, not amazing for the price. Service was really very poor - we didn’t have a booking, so were put in an out of the way corner, although half the restaurant was empty for the duration. Had to chase some of our order as they’d just forgotten. Waitresses were not really familiar with the menu. Not a smile on the face of any of the staff. I get a far better level of service from Wagamama, Pizza Express, or any of the high street restaurants. Was cold - a chilling blast every time the front or back door opened. We were sat there with our coats on. Couldn’t wait to leave. Not really a very enjoyable experience.

We were so looking forward to our afternoon tea with a glass of wine but in all honesty it was a disappointment. I've had a lot of afternoon teas and for the area and price, this was nothing special. When I booked, I was asked if there were any allergies; I stated that one of us doesn't eat pork or fish.... my friend was hoping for maybe ham but all finger sandwiches were vegetarian. There were some unusual combinations and I actually asked if we could have some chicken. The scones were ok but there wasn't enough jam and cream for four; the cakes looked good but we didn't really get a vibe in the place and just decided to leave. The staff were helpful and I received three takeaway boxes, which lets you know how much wasn't eaten. The hotel looks lovely from outside but I don't think inside did it justice. If I had paid full price of £77 for two, I would have asked for my money back but luckily I had a voucher and paid £30. In all honesty, I would not recommend that you have afternoon tea here.

Received a voucher for sparkling afternoon tea - attempted to book a weekend multiple times, eventually got booked in 3-4months after I had hoped to. On arrival walk-ins were being turned away but there were still quite a few empty tables...perhaps it was a social distancing measure? Staff were friendly but not particularly attentive, and the afternoon tea was ok, but not particularly "special" - by no means a connoisseur of afternoon teas but have definitely had better, particularly on the cake front, they were all quite dry and oddly tasted the same, which was a little spicy as though they'd been made and sat with the curry for a while. It was pleasant enough but nothing to make us rush back for another booking

I loved the atmosphere, service and the food was to die for. I honestly couldn't say which dish was my favourite, but I really enjoyed the yoghurt with pomegranate, paneer chilli curry and gosht tikka. Set in a lovely cosy restaurant with attentive service, it made a lovely birthday treat. Will be back when visiting London again!

I dined at Hankies as one of a large group for a special birthday celebration. We were in a private dining room which, like the entire restaurant, had a welcoming ambience and tasteful decor. From the first couple of amuse bouche dishes which were served, all the way through to the delicious desserts at the end of the meal, the chef(s) did not put a foot wrong. The food was delicious, plentiful and varied. It was clear that great attention was paid to flavour and texture. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive but never intrusive. A perfect evening with delicious food. Highly recommended.

Cannot fault the amazing night we had at Hankies Marble Arch. The drinks, food and service were perfect and I could not ask for anything more. A great place to go with family and friends and a very memorable experience!

Delicious food. Not like your average Indian where everything is orangey brown and swimming in oil. Delicate flavours, colourful, presentation first class, excellent service and surprisingly not overpriced. Good value for excellent food.

Tonight we decided to try the Indian restaurant by our hotel because we didn’t want to go far... I’ve tried by the past Indian food back home and I was very disappointed. All I can say is amazing!!! The best I’ve tried.
