I had an appetizer and main course, but it felt like a main course and dessert. My appetizer, chicken tandoori, was so big and the amount was so huge that neither could I properly cut it on the small plate nor had I much appetite on the main course. I had chicken tikka masala, which tasted like some type of chicken paste with half of it consisting out of sugar and overcooked, dry chicken. The rice was also not included and had to be payed extra. The waiter even had the nerve to ask for dessert. The main and our waiter always bickered so loudly that I began to wonder if they were bitching about us or their own service. The music was so poorly chosen that it didn't feel like an Indian restaurant but madam puddifut's teashop from Harry Potter.

Super pleasant evening in company: excellent food, service a little slow but acceptable. They don't serve alcohol.

Great food. Good quality ingredients - we ordered chicken-based dishes and the meat was of great quality. Lots of sauces. The dishes were served quickly. Efficient service. Just a 90's decor, but with food this good who would care about the decor ;-)

We have stayed nearby on this vacation and as we passed by it caught our attention. The food is very good, with a lot of flavor, we tried different dishes and we loved them all. The service was very good, we allowed ourselves to be advised and they were right with the suggestions. I am not a scholar of Indian food, but this experience was worth it.

Very tasty Chicken Tikka Massala !

A small but cozy restaurant, the waiters very helpful and fast serving. They made us recommendations (some we accepted and others we didn't and they never stopped smiling), and we ate a lot and well.

Brilliant food and friendly staff

The food was tasty and the portion sizes were decent. The glasses and utensils we used had soap residue on them, leaving our meal tasting a little funky. Would definitely give this place another try.

We visited this lovely little restaurant 12 years ago on our honeymoon and just had to return on our recent return trip with our 10-year-old. The food is so delicious, we’ve been reminiscing about it since that first visit, and it didn’t disappoint this time. The service is very nice — the server was willing to make recommendations but was also content to let us make what was probably a strange variety of selections. The ambiance of the place strikes just the right note so that we as a family we’re comfortable, but so (apparently) was the couple on a date and the small group of friends that came in together. I highly recommend a stop here for some of the best Indian food I’ve had outside of Silicon Valley.

They are fooling people in the of Indian food. Nothing is close to authentic taste. Madras chicken and briyani were awful. It is a narrow walkway with a dining area. .

Great place for a casual but delicious Indian meal. We came on a weeknight and it was quiet, so we were served quickly. Tried several dishes that were new to us and enjoyed them all

The food was good, but terrible service. After asking a waiter for a carafe of water, a second waiter brought a glass of water. Whereupon, after asking again for the carafe, we were brought two glasses of water. Then apply this approach to everything and get an idea of ​​the service.

Excellent food, reasonably priced in an easily accessed part of Notting Hill. The curry is exceptional. We will be coming back!

They will tell you the vindaloo is spicy, they are 100% accurate, but it is delicious!! Highly recommend.

Small Indian restaurant that doesn't look like much in the middle of Notting Hill but offers saffron rice like I've rarely been able to taste! Excellent value!

the staff was very rude and disrespectful

Server was terribly rude, refusing us entry because of our buggy, despite the fact that it folded and fit under the table without disturbing anyone. Space is cramped and you practically have to sit on top of each other. Very unfortunate experience.

Very good food, there are both meat and vegetarian options, the waiters always tell you which dishes are spicy and which are not, but the service was a bit poor, the waiters were very elusive, we tried to ask them a few questions about the dishes because on the menu it wasn't written what they were and what the ingredients were and they continued to leave after every question without waiting for us to finish asking, but the food was recommended

A really lousy Indian restaurant. Cramped and stuffy premises. Poor and disinterested service. The food was almost inedible. The lamb had a strange metallic taste. The samosa had probably been deep-frozen and heated in the microwave. The sauces looked like they had gone in and out several times. The rice was probably cooked several days earlier. It was not possible to eat. The toilet was filthy. Don't go there.

Detta var den sämsta och sunkigaste indiska restaurang jag nånsin varit på. Personalen var ointresserade och nästan otrevliga. Maten var uselt dålig. Samosan till förrätt var liten och saknade smak. Troligtvis djupfryst som hade värmts i mikron. Såserna som serverades hade nog åkt in och ut flera gånger. Vi vågade inte röra dem. Lamm Masala hade en underlig smak av metall. Chicken Balti smakade inte som den skulle och var inte varm vid serveringen. Riset var helt oätligt. Lokalen var trång och tråkig. Toaletten snuskig. Gå inte dit!

As a regular customer, I can confidently say that Maharaja is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Queensway. The menu is fairly priced, whether you choose to dine in or take away. Highly recommended!

Chicken masala and lamb masala were perfectly seasoned. Mushroom rice incredibly flavorful and fresh naan. Highly recommend.

Nice waiter, but the lamb jalfrqzi and other dishes tasted a little off, and all 5 of us were ill overnight. I would not go back.

I visited this restaurant twice during my stay in London, as the food was absolutely delicious. We had the Lamb Vindaloo and the chicken korma which were divine. The ambience is nothing special, but it’s ok. The prices are good, the only complaint is that they charged me an additional service charge not only for the food that I had there and that’s ok, but also for a takeaway meal that I took for my friend.

I loved this place! The food was amazing! This was the best Indian restaurant I have been to. I haven't left a review in a while but these guys deserve it.

We had the chicken tikka masala, lamb rogan josh, and prawn curry with rice, garlic naan, and raita. All were very good. The dishes were not as "hot" with spice as we are used to in the US, but there were more subtle flavors that made the meal unique and enjoyable.

Food was great, service was pleasant. Unlicensed, so all non-alcoholic beverages are served.

Being called itself an Indian restaurant is really a disgrace to the Indian community. We booked the place, once we reached there they suddenly denied our reservation - only a couple was sitting in the restaurant - rest complete resturant was empty. They didn't allow us , seeing that all are Indian people, and same time did cancelled our reservation- is this really the etigates- dont use indian name if you don't respect your own people. Plz bycot going to such place

Efficient friendly service but cannot understand how this place is so highly rated. The menu refers to “meat” dishes, which can never mean a good quality meat if they can’t even identify the animal it comes from. And no alcohol is served. I understand there are religious or licensing reasons for this, but a lot of people expect a beer or wine when eating a curry in the UK and so this alone made for a disappointing experience for us.

The food at the Indian restaurant was fantastic – authentic and full of flavour. The service was friendly and attentive. The ambience was cozy and atmospheric. Absolutely recommended for all lovers of Indian cuisine!

Waiter was super polite and very forthcoming with everything. Ordered the vegetable biryani, vegetable curry and chicken tikka masala to share for two. Perfect amount. All were served nice and hot and were really flavorsome. A bit oily, but that's coming from someone who doesn't even keep oil at home. Would eat here again in a heartbeat.

The food was good ! Service and atmosphere driven by 'how can I optimize money by client'. Alcohol-free wine called 'Cabernet Sauvignon' is an attack to your senses (smells and tastes like vinegar). Restrooms are a shame.

We were 3 guests, and two of us shared one of the menus and got stomach sick (a friend threw up). The food is very oily and is missing the full blend of Indian spices. For example, the samosas were hot (in terms of spices) but otherwise tasteless. One waiter was friendly, two not so much. I would not recommend to go there. We regularly eat Indian food and never had the issue before.
