Dishoom Covent Garden in City of London, Westminster

Dishoom Covent Garden proved to be an amazing experience. I celebrated my birthday with family and friends, and I can't think of a better choice of restaurants. The service was light hearted and friendly, the food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable.

The experience was out of this world. It was our first time at the restaurant and experiencing Indian food, we absolutely loved the restaurant, the staff was welcoming and efficient, everything was just fabulous. The food was to die for, and I cannot wait to return to London to go back. If you find yourself in London, it is a must you will not regret it.

Dishoom Covent Garden is such a cool spot for a relaxed night out. The vintage decor and buzzing vibe really make you feel like you’re in Mumbai. Their food is packed with flavour. It’s reasonably priced, too, so it’s perfect for groups. Service can be a bit slow on busy nights, but the friendly team makes it worth the wait. Overall, a cozy and fun slice of Bombay in the heart of London!

Exotic and spicy. Loved it. Certainly worthy a visit when walking around town. Have some sharing options, they are great for it.

The atmosphere here is lovely and you know it’s good because of the queue outside. The staff are really efficient but not over attentive and the food is excellent. It costs a little more than your average curry, but this isn’t your average curry. It’s Bombay-inspired and is nothing like the menu you would get in your typical Indian. It’s well spiced, you can taste every ingredient and you don’t leave feeling as if you could explode. Recommended.

This was one of the most immaculate places I ate at in London. The food was delicious, creamy, spicy, amazing flavors. Our waiter was amazingly attentive and friendly too, giving great recommendations a taking care of us. The absolute highlight of the meal was the dessert. Alphonso mangos on plain vanilla ice cream. It was the most scrumptious dessert I’ve ever had. You can only get it for a limited time there in the spring, so if you are there in the spring be sure to get it. Lime leaf Collins was very tasty, good flavours, but just a touch too sweet. Black daal: Complex flavour and comforting. Quite spicy for me. Monk fish curry: The tamarind was very prominent here. Lots of strong flavourful spices. My wait as a single diner was 1 hour from lining up at 5pm Friday. Not the best meal I've had in London but it's up there.

One of the best meals of my life! We had the corn, vegetable samosas, garlic naan, house black daal, and Ruby chicken. The Ruby chicken felt almost like a mix of butter chicken with chicken tikka, and it was like flavor hit after flavor hit, it was incredible. The black daal was unreal- I’ve never tasted daal with so much depth of flavor in my life. Sid’s service was also wonderful, kind, and attentive. My wife is sober and there were plenty of non-alcoholic drink options on the menu. We each had 2 drinks, 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 house chai, and 1 dessert, and it was around £100 with gratuity included. Highly recommend this place, and completely worth the price!

We had a blast! The decor is super warm, the restaurant is very spacious. The servers are multilingual. The food is excellent. However, you should wash the rice, the starch smell is too much. The lamb chops were excellent!

Shy was our server and he was great! We ordered prawn pathai, the black daal and the paneer makhanwala. It all tasted really good but the paneer portion was kind of small as there were only 4 pieces, the staff did fix this immediately though! The prawn was definitely the best and came with a large rumali roti. The masala parathas on the side were also so flavorful! The Pouri is also a must try as it comes with Halwa (sweet) but is a good mix of sweet and savory. Definitely gonna come back!

Always a great experience. Simply put the best Indian food you'll find in London. Never had a bad meal hear and everything on the menu is worth trying (especially the house black daal) been to all the branches and the decor and interior is chic and a great vibe. Highly recommended

Outstanding food, service and atmosphere

What a crazy machine this place is. Awesome though.

Everything tasted authentic and fresh. They also do an amazing job of checking allergies. We got the chili chicken. Which tasted like it was made with natural chillis. It was a little spicy, but barely. We also got the ruby chicken which was very good.. basically butter chicken but better. The chefs special was amazing. It tasted like Indian Italian fusion. The sauce was a sweet tomato sauce, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend this. For dessert we got the chocolate pudding, which was alright. The ice cream that went with it, was very good. Left a little spice flavor after eating, which was very fun to experience.

Amazing food and so helpful with allergies! My husband has a coconut allergy (pretty rare) and they had the kitchen look over the menu and highlight any dishes containing coconut so we felt 100% confident ordering! Truly above and beyond!

I can't speak enough about what a great establishment Dishoom covent garden is.. It perfectly captures the colonial Indian decor, nostalgia, food and ambience through it's menu, music, thoughtful interiors and super friendly attentive service.It's like visiting family/ friends for a meal.From the moment you walk in you're greeted by genuine friendly faces who immediately scurry to find you a seat and plunge into action in getting your meal choices. They constantly check in on you, sometimes give you free chai and provide helpful suggestions to those who are unfamiliar with Indian cuisine. Our waiter Salvador was superb. He was welcoming, friendly, entertaining and thoughtful in the service he provided. Iv been here so many times but every time the food is consistently good, insanely flavourful and service up to the mark.. Don't be put off by the queue's. They move quick and is worth the wait to have this quality food & service- which is super rare in London. Dishoom your a rare gem in this city, please never change your formula for quality and service!!

Probably the best indicator of the quality in Dishroom is how hard it is to get a table. We were lucky, and only queued for half an hour. Once inside, the tables have plenty of room. Bathrooms do require the ability to walk down stairs, but are in very good condition. The food is great. The dhaal is amazing, and absolutely reminds me of the dhaal from around Bangalore. The staff were great, very informative, it came across as a very well oiled machine. Definitely somewhere I would recommend.

Such a great restaurant. We went for breakfast and I loved it. It was my husband's restaurant choice and I wasn't sure I really wanted to go there. I was wrong. It was lovely and I cannot wait to go again for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Staff were really friendly, explaining the menu well. They also were so efficient, regularly refilling drinks but not intruding at all. I loved the atmosphere. The food tasted great. We had the breakfast bacon nann and the wrestlers naan. The Chai was delicious. And orange juice was delicious, really fresh. It was a great experience. I would definitely recommend.

The breakfast was delicious! The Keema per Eedu with the Maska Bun and Wrestlers Naan Roll were delish, and we also liked the Chai (though a bit sweet for my taste, would have preferred to add sugar if only I want it) & the specialty coffee was good too! We were full 🤤

I’ve been to many Indian restaurants but this experience was a top one for me. The food was delicious, portions were perfect, and overall the atmosphere felt lively but cozy and spacious. I’d recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area.

Seen this place all over TikTok and was recommended by locals. Hands down the best Indian food I’ve ever had. I’m dreaming of it now. My server was so sweet to chat and talk to me while I was eating solo.

Long queue to enter the restaurant and further wait to be served inside. The food was acceptable, expected levels for Dishoom. I've never had to queue for other Dishoom branches (perhaps I've been lucky), but I'd say not worth wasting an hour of your evening to dine here.

We were assigned a table where previous customers had dropped vinegar (table and floor). Nasty smell around so we asked to move to another one. Waiter recognised the issue (then why assigning us that table in the first place?) Tasty food but overpriced Very noisy place Slow service

Probably the best Indian food we had (and we have very often). The dishes were wonderful and tasty, wonderful ingredients and the spices are at a superb quality. All the dishes were wonderful but the starter of sweet potato’s in yogurt (Dishoom house chaat) was mind blowing Cocktails and Mango Lassi were delicious Highly recommended and WORTH the wait.

Literally some of the best food I've ever eaten in my life! I am so happy that I was able to experience Dishoom on this trip. Do not miss the Black Daal, cheese Naan and Chicken Ruby. We also had the most delightful rice dish with coconut. I believe it's their location's special dish. Service was impeccable. We sat in the back near the windows. Main part of the restaurant was very loud and lively, so we were happy to be seated where we were.

This is an excellent Indian cuisine that isn't too expensive. Chicken Ruby and Biryani was good.

Must visit place in London. You will wait in a very long queue to get your seat.. Atmosphere is super charged...Little noisy. They serve you tea, lemonade while you're in queue. Overall it's really good feeling.

Food was good. Service was OK, despite forgetting our water, the food taking a while to come out, provided spoon was dirty, and us needing to ask for the bill twice. Staff attitudes were friendly though. This overall earns the resto 4 stars since it was good but not great. Minus one star for automatic 12.5% service charge that one needs to specifically opt out of. Tips should be opt in not out since it should not be expected but given only in the case of a job well done. In our case, the service wasn't bad but it wasn't exceptional to warrant a tip. I did not ask for the removal to keep the peace with my dining partner, but this practice by the restaurant is manipulative and should be avoided. For this point alone I would not return

Me and my friends went there for my birthday and the food was really really tasty

Wonderful food, the prawn patia is to die for. No matter what time of day you want to come - book! There was a queue from 4:30pm until well past 9pm. The only disappointment was that the drinks we ordered never arrived. I don't know if the server forgot to put the order through or if the bar was so backed up we had finished before they arrived but either way, all we got was water.
