Gave it another try after a disappointing experience last time. Won't be rushing back to eat. Service initially good and food arrived very promptly. After finishing we sat there unattended for a good 20 minutes before getting up and paying at the till and taking childrens ice cream home. Even that took another 10 minutes. Food itself disappointing, childrens burgers dry, roast beef tough and roast potatoes rough to cut with the blunt small knives given and very dry in the middle. Plus no horseradish sauce, this happened last time so I wonder if they ever have any? Customers should be told this when they order not when the food is placed in front of them. I for one would have ordered something else. The pub cat was also seen on a vacated table licking sauce out of a bowl, not surprisingly it had been left uncleared as appears to be the norm. I hope they thoroughly wash the dishes as this has serious health and safety implications.

Was a real disappointment today! We usually Love coming here not sure we will be coming back to eat here again now. Ordered at the bar and the lady behind the bar wasn’t welcoming what so ever. Didn’t even try to act like she wanted to be there. Mostly everything on the menu wasn’t available. Sat in the garden food was delivered and was not great at all. Really bland, nachos under done, curdled sour cream sticky fish batter!?! Real shame such a lovely venue that use to be brilliant.

Went to this place for a family dinner. Food was awful. Burgers with a burnt crust, kids goujons and chips were overfried with dark brown crust. Just terrible. Drinks were good and waitress service was good. Just don’t eat food there. Overpriced and badly cooked.

We have been going to the manor on and off for years. Over the past year or two the service and everything about the place has been going downhill. We decided to give it a try one last time as we were really hoping they would have made improvements with staffing etc. This was not the case, the staff seemed to have no idea what they were doing. Talking amongst themselves, swearing behind the bar in front of families and not putting orders in correctly or at all!! Will not be returning

Terrible experience last weekend. Food took over 2 hours to come out, which when it finally did, the chips were freezing cold, potatoes and vegatables in the roasts were were half cooked and my partners salad completely forgotten. No appologies or explanations until after we raised a compliant. Icing on the cake was when they 'forgot' we had paid a £50 deposit despite being unable to book without paying this and didn't take it off the bill, whilst at the same time bringing out a seperate bill for the salad they never sent out. Wonder how many times they try the deposit trick to see if people forget. It should be a default action.

Well what can I say ! We arranged to go for lunch with my family Saturday 15th June to celebrate my husband's birthday and father's day 8 adults 5 children. We were shown to a large table out the back of the restaurant looks like were they put large groups. Almost immediately they wanted to take our food order . We ask for time only 5 mins we hadn't even sat down yet 🫣. We were not given children's menus when clearly had children age 5 to newborn. Once we had ordered I looked around 🫣 big mistake the place was obviously dirty all the panels on the walls had thick dirt/dust tables sticky and uncleaned properly chairs grubby all around the table legs base ect . Pot holding a bit of cutlery dirty clearly not cleaned for a prolonged period . My granddaughter needed the restroom and omgoodness it smelt like a stable. Painted toilet seats that have seen better days peeling and chipping and everything grubby. Food arrived in prolonged stages half had finished before the last meal (the birthday boy) which he couldn't eat as it was a chicken pie ice cold in the centre. Eggs on ham eggs not cooked so snotty on top and cold. Children's meals contain bigger portions than the adults . I had barley 10 chips. 3 members of staff 1 male 2 females wandering about but only 1 working by the looks of it (the male ) nobody checked our table to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything. So no drinks were had . We sat with plates of uneaten food for over 40 mins . Then my son had to approach the bar to ask about pudding were he was sent back with 3 types of ice-cream for the childrens meal (no adults were offered pudding) were he then had to go back to the bar with his ice-cream choice which he had to wait for and came back with 3 ice creams and spoons . I don't expect the Ritz we just wanted normal food and normal service. It seems such a waste of what could be a lovely venue.

Not 100% staff fault due to layout but they could be likely staffed to allow them to walk in to see if people need anything IE coming 2-3 after handed meals if everything is okay? Aka basic food practise Had to chase for several things Triple cooked chips are lovely but in the smaller portion sizes, Kids meals looked more generous then adults to be honest I didn't have it but pie meal looks packet Bratwurst looked not genuine or was expecting at least somengrill marks..No onions? Only coke zero on tap, premium bottles for not having chemicals Nice garden area, kids will enjoy Indoor looks like needs work, deep clean

They have a pub cat (which I personally wouldn’t mind if the cat was simply walking around on the floor since I like cats). The cat jumped on a chair on top of a handbag that was there, grabbed my son’s stuffed toy and dug it’s claws into it playing with it, and jumped on top of the table to grab some of the food when a group picture was being taken. Starter food portion was laughable it was so small for the mixed sharer for the price. Most staff was in inexperienced and not responsive enough although they were trying their best. Cauliflower bites were small and tasteless. Loaded chilli fries were a small portion but actually incredibly tasty.

Best Sunday roast I've had in a long time, many thanks for the superb service and answering the many questions we had. Importantly the roast beef was a perfect medium/medium rare (even the fat had been rendered down perfectly), the braised red cabbage was a hit, the potatoes were supreme and the assortment of seasonal veggies was only triumphed by the magnificent yorkie.... seriously you have to try it.

Sadly not a great place to visit. Food choice limited, and to be asked if you want your change after a £120+ bill is not good. Building looks nice from the outside, but seating and tables in the restaurant hall area is tatty. Items not available from the menu. Even a Coke is over £4 a glass. One of the most disappointing and expensive places I have had the misfortune to visit. Would never go there again. Even if it was free. Thank you for the reply, at least. I hope it does manage to improve at least, but just me contacting me, will not improve the place and service. I will not be returning, but I hope the place improves for others. As I said, I would not be returning. Even if it was free. And In it’s self, that would influence the service. Just please fix it for the others. And I wish you all the best.

Dining hall was cold when we arrived and had to request the fire be lit. Excessively long wait times to be served in the bar which was clearly understaffed. The whole place needs a really thorough deep clean, the toilets smelled bad and the floors were filthy. Food was OK but nothing to write home about. It was particularly frustrating to find no prices on the drinks menus making the choice of wine a difficult process necessitating the bar staff individually researching the price for each bottle. The whole place was shabby, for example cat food left in the public passage from bar to dining hall. We won’t be rushing back!

Well, easter weekend! What was i thinking? As; n i thought id sit in the lovely gardens, in a bit if sun, Kids running around everywhere , the place was in a huge mess, but that shows how popular it was ! Theyd run out of some wines, the var was packed, loads of olates and mess EVERYWHERE, again, this shows how very popular tgis place is, a lovely building, big airy rooms, though the bar was probably too small to cope with the volume of people who turned up that day, 20 mins wait for a drink, i think they were totally overwhelmed, very young staff, not a problem, just again were overwhelmed. The roast dinners seemed a massive winner, i will go back when its quieter and eat. A lovely building and outdoor space, go and investigate for yourself, worth going. Came for Sunday lunch. Been somewhere between five and ten times previously, this one a little disappointing. Two people had roasts, one the sharing platter of wings. Roast potatoes weren't boiled or roasted long enough, and the chicken roasts were a bit bland and pale looking for us, a bit of rosemary and garlic woud be nice and a bit more colour. The chicken wings were supposed to come with tempura (battered) onions, but it didn't have any. The younger waiting staff could see, and agreed to bring us some chips as a compensation and so there was at least some contrast in texture to the dish. But then a manager came out and said there were a chives added instead because they'd run out of onions. No apology. But then promised chips didn't arrive either. Left a bit of sour taste, to be honest. If you don't deliver as advertised, there should at least be an apology. You might want to avoid the roast potatoes!

My brother and his family came to visit so I brought them here for lunch as I've always rated Hangleton Manor. Part of the pub was closed off for a wedding - fair enough. My brother and I went to the bar to order food and my brother ordered for his family first. I went to place my order immediately afterwards and was told that the kitchen was now closed so that the food for the wedding could be brought out so they couldn't process my order. The guy behind the bar told me he'd let me know when I would be able to order. My brother's family's order was brought out quickly and I asked if the kitchen was open yet. I was then told that the kitchen would be closed for the next two hours. It was very clear at the bar that my brother and I were part of the same party and I feel that this whole situation was handled very poorly by staff.
