A lovely experience at The Hampton Bar at St James’ Court, A Taj Hotel. Wonderful Champagne and delicious canapés. Service from Claudia was first class. She was professional in her manner and great knowledge to suit. The themed cocktails after were the icing on the cake. Would highly recommend.

The Hamptons bar staff were very attentive and served us promptly without any delay. Our only regret was that the bar closed at 2300hrs on a Saturday night and no 24hr room service! The bar area is clean and the staff took pride in looking after the guests

I will never forget the warmth and special attention given to us by Ivonio. He made sure all our needs were taken care of and went above and beyond to give us suggestions specific to our preferences. Really great staff. We even got to personally thank Chef Raj Rana and immediately felt at home because of his openness and his sweet demeanour. We had the prawn Malabar curry, paneer kadai and dal tadka. All three had such depth of flavour, it left us so content and fulfilled by the end of our meal. The mango cheesecake and pistachio dark chocolate mouse sealed the deal. Smoked salmon crostini is a must try. Special shout out to Ivonio and Chef Raj Rana. We will surely be coming back.

Claudia made our visit to this beautiful space very special ! We came here as a group of 3 during Tier 3 restrictions when we could only gather outside. This space , Claudia and the service/food were all super! We’ll be back and would highly recommend .

If you are lucky, you might still be able to get a drop of 'Tajhatten' - a rare, spicy cocktail that they created in limited edition and it's simply brilliant. Ask for Riccardo, who knows how to match your mood to the drink you should have. Leave yourself in his hands, you won't regret it!

Nice atmosphere with comfy chaira and no background music. There is sometimes a live pianist. Prices are high.

Vi sited with friends as we were staying at the hotel. Service poor. Waiter asked if we wanted anything else shortly after drinks arrived but didn't come back when our drinks were finished to ask then so we didn't bother.We had to go searching for staff to pay the bill. I really resented the nickel and diming of charging £5 for two bowls of peanuts given the price of the cocktails. Skip this bar

My friend and I visited this bar while I was staying at the hotel with my husband. The bar staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The gentleman that took our order gave us recommendations and explained the menu to us in a very knowledgable manner. The two dishes my friend and I chose were cooked perfectly and they were so flavoursome and fresh. The courtyard area situated outside the bar is fantastic and well maintained.

Fuimos invitados en el Taj 51 y realmente disfrutamos de regresar de nuestro amplio recorrido para tener este pequeño lugar para relajarse y disfrutar de una bebida. La pequeña bandeja de oliva que te traen es adictiva. No comimos en ninguno de los restaurantes del hotel pero disfrutamos este lugar.

Where do I start. Basically a working mans pub oddly trying to be a gastropub. Poor seating, bench seats too low to eat. Limited choices on the menu. Both my colleague and I had tasteless starters of pigs cheek, dry, tough.and disappointing. Mains, burger and fries was passable but under cooked files were oily. Main of black bean stew, dry over cooked stew with very dry rice, cabbage was good though. It had a what looked like a dry powder served in a small dish on the side, didn't taste of much, nor did it compliment any part of the dish. Wine list is appalling, cheap and nasty. Service was indifferent, told to leave at 11..00 abruptly.

Slightly tacky physical ambience. Indifferent staff and very average food. But the music in the evenings is nice and lends flavour to the bar and lobby area.

I went to the Hamptons bar tonight - we are staying in the hotel. My father ordered the chicken club no pancetta. I ordered the ravioli with tomato emulsion sauce. My sauce was basically a curry, which is not listed on the menu. I sent it back and said I would like the same order as my mother. After waiting 30 minutes, I called the waiter over who said he thought I was sharing my mothers meal. Then, my father realized he had no chicken on his sandwich just the pancetta. We told another waitress about all this, she said 'let me speak to my manager' then came and delivered us the bill. I would rather go hungry (again) then try to eat in this horrible place. To not even comp a glass of wine is horrendous. Go to The Albert up the street. It's better food and the service is great.

We stayed in the hotel for several days and at the end of the day this was a comfortable place to relax, review and refresh. The drinks list is more than adequate and there are some excellent light meals available. Our favourite "waiter"was doing an internship at the hotel and was quite a raconteur when the place wasn't busy.

This bar is located in the St. James Court Hotel off Victoria St. It comprises a club style lounge with deep upholstered chairs (short height patrons struggled to reach the table with comfort and I noticed that one had to ask for a cushion). This is unsatisfactory and chairs of higher depth should be available so that patrons are not discomfited.The hotel is part of the Taj group of companies and the brand is obvious. Secondly,the waiter was unaware of the special Shakespearean cocktail on offer and had to ask the barman. Staff ought to be properly briefed as to new, occasion cocktails. Cocktails looked lovely but disappointed.The McBramble ordered was overfilled with chunks of ice leading one to be suspicious. The second, different but also alcoholic cocktail drank was also overfilled with ice and although delicious was not exactly strong.. The bar food was delicious, plentiful and well cooked and arrived promptly.The waiter service was prompt, attentive and amiable. Full marks for this. The bill was produced when asked for and was accurate. Pianist (doubling as vocalist) and a double bass musician played jazz which was a definite plus. Washrooms in good condition. Had the cocktails reached advertised expectations, this bar would have merited 5 stars, as it had a nice ambiance.

We had a few drinks at the bar after a day of site seeing. We had a total of 6 drinks and it cost more than our dinner that night. The service was good and friendly, it is located inside a nice hotel, which we stayed. My suggestion would be to get the bill/check if you don't want a big surprise at the price.

You could not have asked for better service from the staff in the bar at all we had been too a show and got back late to the hotel and was very hungry and it was not too much trouble for them to get something organised food wise and there gin is amazing well worth a visit

We had a drink in here while waiting for the room to be checked over before we were able to have the key for our stay. It was cosy and relaxing, with a good range of drinks to choose from and reasonably price considering some prices in London hotels.

After a long day walking around London, we decided to finish off here with a few cocktails and some snacks, the service was very efficient and the cocktails where lush, so was the chicken skewers and chips. A great end to a perfect day.. The place was very quiet, but I think it was because most people where sat in the piano bar.

Loved the staff, friendly and helpful. We were so tired from sightseeing they put our party of 4 in a small private room just off the bar. The pub type food (wraps, sandwiches and burgers) was well prepared and tasted great. We went back for a second time and ordered the crabmeat with pasta. The staff were concerned that I did not like it because I could not finish the entire serving. Quite large a portion.

I had reservations at 3:30 pm on a Tuesday for one person and I was promptly seated in a very comfortable chair next to a window. This was my first experience having Afternoon Tea. I had a pot of Darjeeling tea and the food was nicely presented on a 3-tier serving tray. There were five different types of sandwiches on the lower tier, two scones on the middle tier, and five types of sweets on the top tier. Everything was tasty and delicious. It was so filling that I couldn’t finish two of the sweets and a container was kindly provided for me to take it with me.Service was friendly, efficient, and prompt. Afternoon Tea at The Hamptons Bar was a relaxing and satisfying break from sightseeing.

The Royal Afternoon Tea served at the Hamptons Bar is truly regal. I loved the tea selections and chic atmosphere. If you haven't been to this hotel, a little walk around outside is definitely in order first. My blog, Sunny in London, features pictures of the stunning courtyard and all the food from the tea. The scones are the secret to the tea's success. However, the sandwiches are commendable because they aren't the 'typical' afternoon tea offerings. I loved their unique ingredients. Finally, the pastries are almost too gorgeous to eat! Make sure you visit my blog for the reason why it's 'Royal'!

As an American this was my fist experience with Afternoon Tea. My husband and I were on a weekend trip to London when we decided to try this quintessentially English experience. There was a large selection of pastries and sandwiches. The scones were very yummy. My only complaint is we had used the Book it Now link on the St James Court webpage and the Bar staff had no idea we were coming. However, we were quickly seated with courtesy.

Good atmosphere good service and food the menu is a little limited but what you get is good quality. On cold days I would go to the room at the back whis more intimate if you want a quiet discussion.

Hamptons Bar at the St James Court Hotel is a great place to meet for business discussions or just for a casual drink. I have been visiting Hamptons for a number of years and highly recommend it. Looking forward to returning to Hamptons during my next visit to London...

While the afternoon tea is being promoted heavily within the St. James's Court Hotel, don't overlook the opportunity to have a lovely single malt scotch or glass of wine and a bite to eat. I've been ordering the Hampton Bar's burgers for several years, and they are terrific. It's a lovely, cozy place with very nice staff. My only cautionary comment is that drinks are pricey.

We went here for the 24 karat gold afternoon tea and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent and all the waiters were very attentive. The sandwiches were a nice twist on the classic with filo and parma ham and grilled veggies. The pastries were amazing, they look and taste heavenly. Perfect afternoon tea, would definitely recommend.

A nice relaxed space that is easily accessible with a good choice of light fare with abundant beverage choices. The only think that detracted from it was a (French) staff member who was just a little too fond of himself. Otherwise a comfortable space to catch up

We stayed at the London's newest luxe hotel - the St. James' Court, A Taj Hotel ! It has great Location, Fabulous Service, Delicious food & drinks ! The Hamptons Bar is a very good place to relax after work or even after dinner for drinks. Very good service here, along with great food & drinks.

I had a couple of cocktails here before dinner and they were OK but not the bestI have ever had. I asked for mine "on the rocks" and the ice cubes were huge - which made the drinks difficult to drink and watered down!The decor is really nice though and the outlook is good.

Just had afternoon tea at the Hamptons Bar.I think my expectations were too high. The service, quality and ambience was way below par compared to Taj West End in Bangalore which I have just visited last week.Service was luke warm, food was okay, ambience was not that great. I was embarrassed to have taken my friends to try the London "Taj" hotel, which turned out to be average at best.Wont be visiting again.

Lovely little bar in the Crowne Plaza hotel. The bar is nice, great ambience and a quiet little place to finish off your hectic day. The food prices are expensive for what you receive.

Staff superb food brilliant. Place immaculate very clean well laid out and very comfy. Can't complain.

The bar/lounge was very pleasant, staff on the whole very good, but were a bit inattentive, you had to wait ages to be served and the staff were overly keen on folding napkins?Overall a nice spot to finnish of a day with a quiet drink with the one you love.

We went as a group of 5 to celebrate a colleagues birthday. They sat us in a private room and not the actual bar and then immediately forgot about us. Eventually we were brought our afternoon tea, and 5 minutes later (after I had scoffed a few sandwiches as I was starving from the long wait) it was taken away again as it was supposed to be for someone else... Not sure why they couldn't have left it for us - if they were taking it to another party some of the food had probably been touched by our party - made me worry about hygiene and more importantly, common sense. We were offered a complimentary glass of champagne for the mix up (nice gesture - thank you), which went straight to my head as we had another fairly long wait before we finally got our food. The afternoon tea itself was very nice - good sandwiches and cakes - and I couldn't fault it. So had they redeemed themselves you are wondering??? Well no. When trying to pay another fiasco ensued. We all wanted to pay for our tea separately which seemed to completely flummox the waiter. I even worked out how much we each should pay and told him to take a specific amount from my card, but he put a different amount through. Then my colleague wanted to pay for 2 people but he put these transactions through separately so she had 2 card transactions??? It took about half an hour to get out of the place.

I felt I simply had to write about my experience of my afternoon tea at 51 Buckingham Gate. I have been to nearly all of the afternoon tea locations mentioned by the Tea Guild - about 30 in total, this was one of the worst!I had previously booked a table a couple of months ago for my father's birthday. I was assured that our table had been booked alongside the fountain. When I arrived with my disabled father, nobody knew anything about my booking. We were informed that there was a group booking and no table was available. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager was kind enough to offer a complimentary afternoon tea upon our next visit. We visited this weekend. All I would say about this particular hotel's afternoon tea is 'poor'. The ambience of the room was at best 'average', not what I would expect from a five star hotel! The choice of teas was good, the cakes and sandwiches 'average'. You would do a lot better visiting Claridges, The Athenaeum, The Savoy, Egerton House or The Intercontinental, Westminster.

A good bar menu. A reasonable wine list but limited beers and ales (try Bishop's Finger). Service is mixed. Don't be afraid to get up and track down your server.

Tucked away in the back of an ordinary looking London hotel, The Hamptons is a very sophisticated and suarve cocktail bar serving everything from Veuve Cliquot to Old Speckled Hen. And not only that you can have a perfectly presented light bite served with satyle and panache. A truely wonderful place.

Friendly service, nice atmosphere - was a lovely spot to sit and have a drink after a busy day in London.Cocktails are all around the 12.50 mark which isn't cheap but it was a nice place and we went daily.

we went there expecting a business lunch, but it's basically a hotel reception (albeit a nice one) the place caters for afternoon tea or brunch. Food & service OK.

This bar has a tremendous variety of liquors, wines and (less varied) beer. The bartenders are really good and can mix cocktails very efficienty. They also are really proficient at identifying the clients who want to chat and those who simply want to be served and left alone.The drinks are somewhat expensive but, hey, you're in London.

The food was lovely, if a little overpriced for bar food.There was nothing too tempting for younger children.
