I’m from Newcastle came on a Saturday, if u know rusties, it’s basically rusties expect the drag queens really show up & there is room to breathe. Fantastic night & DJ does song requests!

On Monday opening time Is not 8pm. We reached there on 8:00pm but found out it's opening time is 9:30pm on Monday. So please Google make the correction.

We went here for a throwback Thursday and it was the best night of my life. They had drinks on offer for 1.50 and entry is only £3 cash (they have a free atm inside) after 10pm. The atmosphere was great and outside area was a great place to have a sit down and a breather. They even have a photo booth out In the garden for £5. Would go again 100%

Its a retro club, only if you are into pop music from the 80s-90s. I could count on one hand any music pass the 00s in the entire night ...

Staff has terrible attitude. Terrible DJs. Worst club in Portsmouth.

This club is pathetic, every time I go in there they say I’m too drunk to get served even when I’ve just come from work, The bouncers are really really rude, horrible with their language, never do you ever step foot in this club it’s Vile

Need to speak to a manager asap due to unsettling behaviour I and others have experienced from staff as I do not think their behaviour alligns with the companies.

Telling me how this place works when I get in, easily find the right lady-man for my best bud they both have a fantastic friday.

We had a fantastic night out at HB with a friend recently. It was our first time and honestly this place was a revelation! Felt really safe and chill, great atmosphere (felt like everyone was there to have a good time and dance dance dance), no pervs, not too big so felt quite nice and intimate, nice mix of people of different ages and genders, clean loos, fantastic tunes, good bar. Absolutely fab and will defo be going back.

I love it here. It's not massive and I prefer It that way. The atmosphere is brilliant and the music is just great. Nice mixture of decent tunes. Not just new tunes that have just come out has older tunes too which are great because everyone sings along and dances to. Great atmosphere. Also it's so much quicker to get served here not waiting too long.

Well last night why having a good time I was asked to leave by the female bouncer On going outside I asked what I had done and she punched me in the face continuously I had nose bleed and swollen cheek and cuts to my eye Police have been informed and I’m not letting this drop I’m not a young silly girl , I’m a mature female and have never ever had this happen to me ever This was Saturday night March 9th 2024 I hope this is taken seriously because I’m not letting this pass by I’m currently quite sick today and in a lot of pain

Shocking- partner had ID, I didn’t- is this shown anywhere on website that each person, to prove who they are? We were visiting from Bristol ( please don’t judge us) disappointed. Answers not real only because necessary to post review

Boucers seem to be bully-ish as I was thrown out as they said I was sick in the toilet, which I was not, I was polite but the boucer (with a large beard) said "I been seen" so it is sad but will never visit it again, never been treated like this in the past anywhere.

Staff a little abrupt and the charge to get in was quite expensive. Atmosphere good though

Always a great atmosphere with the other customers and entertainers. DJ is always on point with the vibe and it's a great night as long as you leave early (minus the cash only entry with is an unnecessary inconvenience). Unfortunately let down when it's time to close; staff become rude, doorstaff moreso. Regardless of your right to finish your (overpriced) drink you're relentlessly yelled at until you throw it or neck it so they can clear the venue in less than 5mins. Neither option favorable (at 3am) and to force the latter is not responsible service of alcohol. An avoidable dampener on your (otherwise fun) night, unfortunately, that always leaves a sour taste.

I wish to give it a better review however, me and my partner got lwt in on Portsmouth pride last year with our id (which is still valid), and then after that we got refused entry, with the same id, unfortunately we are doing Portsmouth pride again, but we are now planning to go to a different nightclub that we know takes our id as we don't trust hb no more, my mum and her partis going there however we possibly will be left to sit out front and wait for them to leave when it closes, or fine another nightclub and hope we are back at hb for our taxi home. This is unacceptable, as the people that issue our id are the same person that issue the doorman licenses.

Pretty please ignore previous reviews, it’s so sad to see a great bar with this low rating. Yes, there is a compulsory ID system in place (like many bars) first time to this place so ID is required. But the security are amazing, if you are a good person looking for an amazing night you will love this place … dancing to the classics like there’s no tomorrow ….. however if you are a drama lama looking for trouble then the security will be there to protect the fabulous from the tragic x

Got pushed over by the bouncer causing my shoulder to dislocate, was offered no help getting it back in on top of that. Horrible place - the least people can do is respect one and other and offer help even if they’ve messed up.

My first time was on new years, it was good, the music was good, I haven’t been clubbing in agesss but I would like to see more of what it is like. I loved being insulted by the person I presumed dressed in drag HILARIOUS 😂! The music is good! I am intrigued on the Tuesdays also 👀

got kicked out for being “too drunk” after accidentally knocking over my own drink in the outside area. despite being “too drunk” to remain within the establishment i was not asked if there was anyone that could assist me in returning to my house or that i sober up outside for 5 minutes, instead i get asked specific questions about medication to which i answered honestly then get told to fend for myself, it felt like it was targeted harassment against me by people either at the club or that weee heading to the club as security came straight for me rather than just doing rounds as i was sitting in a booth on my own. it’s a shame cause this place is mean to be a safe space for queer people like myself but instead it gets added to the numerous places i feel ostracised by society.

After really enjoying this club I had quite a bad experience last time I went thanks to security being very unfair when dealing with a situation that occurred. A member of my party was pushed over by someone who had too much to drink and was kicked out because of something that was entirely out of his control. No matter how much we could negotiate with them, they refused to accept that there was no reason to remove any of us from the venue. This forced us all to leave so as not to leave our party member alone and caused us all problems. We eventually found somewhere else to go and would rather be repeat customers there. I wouldn't recommend HB despite it being the only queer space in Portsmouth simply because the security here abuse their authority which I find saddening The bar staff however are amazing and I wish them all the best

So MY NAME IS TYRELL READ (i will be bringing this up again at a later date) i got kicked out because people i know had been inappropriate WITHOUT WARNING and someone i was talking to FELL ON ME. When talking to the people out front about this, they acknowledged that I was correct but that they had "already made their decision". So appealing how they consciously ignored that, especially after i said there are employees there who would vouch for me such as Lucy Caboosi, and they ignored that and stood by their decision regardless. Would drop hb but unfortunately it's the only club for gay people in Portsmouth. Shame it's policed by such bigoted staff.

So I was persuaded to keep the night going and visit after having a chat with a bouncer at another local bar who regularly does shifts working here. Was refused entry despite not nearly drinking as much as the rest of my party who were waved in...

One of the most bad experience to visit Hampshire Bulevard. Staff very ruthless music frome 25y ago, inside very dirty and bad smell security aswell one of the most bad security frome Portsmouth. I think his better to shut the door for good after 20 yers of trading.

This place is really a hit and miss with bad customer service, if you are not a regular or from Portsmouth. As a solo traveller, I visited this place on a Friday and I was given a table inside, which was good fun and the vibe was very good. On Saturday, I decided to go back and I had a table booked, as I did not want to wait in the queue. When I made the booking (via an online booking form) I was asked if I want to be inside or outside. I clearly indicated that I wanted to be inside and my booking was confirmed by the venue. When I turned up, I was placed outside and when I asked them to move me inside, security reassured me that I am at the “top of the list” for a table inside. An hour later, two groups that came after me and were seated outside got moved inside. A waitress kindly reminded the person who runs the place that I have asked to move in (I could see them staring at me), but yet again even though I allowed enough time nothing was done. I simply left and continued my night elsewhere as there are many other great places just down the road. If you really want to be called a diverse place maybe start with appreciating everyone that visits you.

If you're not from Portsmouth, this is going to be tough going. Stricter security than getting into many countries. Pay a fiver in (by cash only) to sit in the dark listening to songs from 25 years ago. And what the hell is with the waterered down drinks? I left more sober than when I arrived.

Very poor, sadly gone down hill, none existent customer service and a place that values money 100% over giving guests a positive night out. Also, if you have a problem or health condition such as cerebral palsy, do not expect a respectable response from the staff or management.

Visited on a Saturday night. Bouncers are very unfriendly, it is possible to have strict door measures and be pleasant. Bar staff welcoming and fun. Worst DJ ever, I think the music was a Now album from 5 years ago, although it is catering for the large, young straight crowd. Could have been a fun night if the music had been a bit more inspired.

Waste of time. Bouncers and staff are on power trips - if they don’t like the look of you they will verbally assault you and force you out the door. I was forced to leave last night for asking the manager to calm down after screaming in my friends face and being very aggressive and almost threatening towards her. Joke of a place. Not much of a gay bar - full of straight teenagers who will openly mock most gay people in there with most staff doing absolutely nothing about it. It’s sad that Portsmouth doesn’t actually have a gay bar anymore. Don’t waste your time.

Since when in the 21st century do you have to show your ID at 40+ to enter a one horse gay club!!! So if you are that desperate to go parting please take your ID with you!! You might just give the place a bad name!! Waste of time!!

Not my type of pub. Ideal for youngsters. I appreciate a decent pint of real ale. I believe that The Vic is now closed (?) Remember this venue as The Wiltshire Lamb and later Drummonds. More of a homely pub in those days, instead of a night club.

As two married gay men (35 year old Senior Accountant for the MoD and Sales Director for a IK media business) recently moved from Covent London to the the South West we travelled to Portsmouth on Saturday evening to learn a little more about the South West's hospitality. You could imagine my disappointment that the venue's two door henchmen refused entry because he want carrying a passport or driving licence (I had mine of course). We did decide to travel to Southampton and enjoy a fab weekend so please think of better venues if you wish to have a good evening...
