Hamers in Bexley

Very nice cuisine , the German lady Claudia that runs it is great, our own that work there are a bit cliquey, or stuffy as I used to push my elderly mothers wheelchair in there and some neighbours went there and the staff would tell them we were coming and you'd see said neighbours go flying out the other door, even though when they felt like it they'd come in to us and sit there for hours watching the TV, cook them lunch , cut her grass etc, say la vie.

This looks like a cake shop but there are 4 or 5 tables by the counter and I believe more upstairs. People come in and out for cake, coffee, lunch sandwiches but there is also a hot menu and the food we chose was excellent. Staff are very attentive and professional and service was quick but the food was obviously freshly cooked (the chips are amazing). Prices are very reasonable. Park in public car park across the road. I would happily visit again.

Been to Hamers several times. Five of us had a lovely lunch on Friday. Great food. Claudia, Chris and the team looked after us. Would recommend this place to anyone. Clean plates all round.

Our first visit since Hamer's opened for evening meals. Chose the Christmas meal - good choice, excellent food, excellent service and good value. We shall be back. They do only open of a few days of the week for dinner. We have always enjoyed lunch there.

I’m so glad it’s now opened in the evenings for dining. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Based on the same style menu as the day and they do have an alcohol licence so you can enjoy a nice relaxing evening with good food. The staff are extremely polite and helpful.

A great place to eat in Bexley we have visited twice in recent weeks. Back tomorrow night with friends. Excellent steaks and high quality wine. Eton mess for desert was perfect. Good value with really nice people to serve you. My wife is coeliac (allergic to gluten) and there were plenty of options

Great venue for breakfast. Use of upstairs area good for larger groups eating together. Excellent choice for breakfasts from simple eggs on toast to a full English or a steak for those with a big appetite!

Had a lovely breakfast last Saturday - all the works plus black pudding. Staff were very attentive and helpful.

We had a lovely lunch today in Hamers. The staff were as attentive as always, dealing with the lunch rush very well! The food was tasty and fresh. I was hoping that there would maybe have been a new non-meat salad added to the menu or perhaps the option to have the Caesar with grilled salmon or halloumi instead of chicken. Hamers is always clean, the staff are always welcoming and the food is always delicious. It's great that they now have an alcohol license and I hope they start to open in the evenings soon.

We’ve been going to Hamers for a spot of breakfast on a Saturday morning for some time now. The service is second to none - always friendly and polite and nothing’s ever too much trouble. Feel like we’re locals!!!! It’s spotlessly clean on EVERY visit and the foods good too. A great local eatery, reasonable priced with fantastic service.

Dropped in for a light lunch whilst in Bexley and had a well served, very fresh, home made lunch which was both tasty and wholesome. Service was efficient and friendly and the establishment looked to be very well run. The eating area is quite small but there is a courtyard at the back, which is partially covered, and fine for using in reasonable weather; there are heaters on the walls if it's cold. The paintwork outside could do with a little freshening-up but it works well.

Had a fantastic time and a very good experience here. Will be returning as the food in exquisite. Especially the breakfast.

Went there for a group breakfast meeting, found the venue excellent with good food and staff. We will return

This lovely place had been recommended to me as a fab place to meet my mum for lunch and they weren't wrong. We called & made a reservation for the table by the window upstairs for a lovely breeze on a vary warm Saturday & I'm glad we did as every table was taken by 12.30! The menu is extensive with everything looking delicious. Once again, I had been advised to try the Hamer's Club Salad, which I was dubious about as I was very hungry. But wowzers, it was massive. And amazing. Huge amounts mixed lettuce leaf, chicken, crispy bacon, boiled egg, cucumber, grated cheddar with a honey & mustard dressing on the side. And as I don't eat tomato's, I asked for them to be replaced with prawns. And it was delicious. Plus for it's size, was very reasonably priced at £8.95! The service was very good & friendly & the restaurant was spotless!

I went here for breakfast and the staff were really lovely and very attentive but not in an intrusive way. I had the vegetarian breakfast and it was gorgeous. It was egg hash browns potato and beans and I had a side of mushrooms and toast and a pot of tea...it was really lovely and very reasonable . My friend had toast and scrambled egg and it was all lovely and fresh and cooked to order. I loved it....and so did she. I will be back. Only thing I would change is the toilet as it was less than hot water which I do not like ....as I feel its not hygienic...that said it was clean and well maintained but not child friendly or wheelchair. The cafe is set in the village and is big as it has upstairs as well. I would say the tables are very close but we were able to talk and there was not lots of loud music...i would give it the thumbs up... close to the station and to buses and there is a car park... go here and see what you think,

Love this place staff are always really friendly and go out of their way to see that you're ok and the service is good.

This has to be one of the best cafes there is in the area. I've tried a few things off the menu and all have been delicious

Their food is lovely but I normally go for the full English or bacon and egg sandwich which I can say is the best I've ever had. I get tearful just thinking about it.

I came here for a coffee with my Dad and was pleased to see that they offer soya milk. The menu is lovely, extensive and caters to all needs. The food is always fresh and of an incredibly high standard. Will return.

Visiting my sister in England, we and her grandchildren went to this small eatery based on my niece's recommendation. The food was excellent and the staff extremely pleasant. I had a ploughman's sandwich, which was delicious. The meats were free range and/or organic, which is important to me and so reasonably priced.

Been many times before to this excellent little gem in the village,

went there with my wife, for a nice afternoon lunch, was seated upstairs which is very clean and tidy, was seen to as soon as we sat down, drinks order was taken and arrived within 5 minutes of the order being taken, them the mains order was taken, and that arrived with 15 minutes of it being taken.

Why better? Always attentive, great selection of food, good price and always cooked/made to order. This by far is one of the best in the village.

Our family love to have breakfast/brunch at Hamers with the occasional lunch there too. Always a friendly service and the best chips anywhere in the area and above all very reasonably priced.

I've often had take away sandwiches from here and they've always been great. Had a sit down meal today which was lovely. Nice wine selections. Good menu choices. Friendly and efficient staff. Would return again.

Great deli in the middle of bexley village. Stop in here most Saturday mornings for a baguette. There's load of great looking bits to take away as well. If you ever get the chance to have a scotch egg still warm then go for it. They're delicious.

Popped into Bexley to scout around for lunch venues as we are getting tired of eating up in Bexleyheath all of the time. We'd walked around the village when I noticed Hamers across the road. The traffic was so heavy that we almost gave up trying to cross the road but am I glad that we did. We'd had a good nose through the window and knew there would be something that we would eat and so walked in. They were already busy inside but the friendly staff offered us a choice or eating inside or outside. Given the hot day, we opted for outside, and we managed to secure a shaded table. The courtyard is definitely a sun-trap! The waiter followed soon after with the various menus. He also explained that there were a number of additional dishes that were not on the menu as they changed daily but we could view them inside. We opted for the fishcakes and a brie, sweet onion marmalade and rocket baguette. The fishcakes were superb as were the accompanying chunky chips. The baguette was fresh and the brie had a slight tang which was lovely and offset by the onion marmalade. The portions were generous and not being big eaters at lunch, we asked for a doggy bag to take the rest home. The drinks (hot, soft and alcoholic) were VERY reasonable. All of the staff were lovely and courteous. All in all, it was a nice way to spend a warm Friday afternoon and we'll certainly be back!

Recently visited for Brunch and the food was of a decent quality. I had the Eggs Ronnie and the Hollandaise sauce was of excellent quality & taste. The menu selection is varied and geared more towards breakfast / lunch. Alcohol can be purchased which is good and there is good home made food options on display that change on daily basis.

I visit here once a week with a friend for lunch The food is always good. The sraff are always welcoming fruendky & polite. Previous comment saud staff were rude. Never ever found that.

Ate breakfast/ brunch here twice last week. Both meals were delicious. We had jacket potatoes the first time and full English breakfasts the next. We were both thrilled by our meals. Been so many times and the food is unbelievable !! Especially the burgers, can't fault it at all. Very fresh food and very very attentive staff. Favourite place to eat !

Have paid many visits to this Restaurant/Cafeteria. Always very busy but service is invariably prompt and courteous. The food looks and tastes delicious with great attention paid to the quality and presentation. Whether you eat-in or have a take-away it is always a first-class experience. Highly recommended.

Been to Hamers a few times and all i can say is that the food is cooked to perfection....If your looking for food that's freshly cooked then look no further looking forward to many more visits in the future.

Went here with friends for breakfast , the place is immaculate and lovely people. Lovely scrambled eggs and everything was very fresh. I do believe they are going to be open in evening for dinner, which would be great as they deserve to be as busy as they are down to the service and hygiene.

Had lunch at Hamers for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I had heard many local poeple tell me the food is good and I am happy to say this was true. The staff were so professional and attentive, really first class dining as far as the staff were concerned. The menu was extensive and well priced and the food arrived promptly and even though my 2 friends and I had very different meal orders, our food arrived all together and piping hot. Well done Hamers. Do visit and see for yourself. Great quality, great service.

Visited for the first time for business breakfast this morning and was pleasantly surprised and impressed by this hidden jewel. Its a little tucked away at the corner, unassuming, but very clean, has an air of openness all be it very cosy. The breakfast spread was fabulous and the staff very friendly. coffee was great, so was the bacon butty! definitely going back there.

Wow this place is great, lovely and clean, friendly and efficient staff, delicious coffee and Eggs Royale to die for we will be back!

The restaurant itself was perfect upon entry, tables were clear and the atmosphere was friendly and open. The food was ultimately perfect as well. The eggs Benedict I decided on was unbelievable and the dishes my partner had (I couldn't help trying some) were cooked and presented sublimely as well as tasting amazing and the price was extremely reasonable for the quality of food I received.I would highly recommend this restaurant to others in search of a warm and caring atmosphere whilst retaining outstanding professional and eloquent service, delivering unbelievable tasting food.

We visited for lunch one day. The reason I have put average is because my food had obviously been sitting getting cold whilst they waited for my friends food to be prepared. I would have preferred if they had just bought the food out at different times rather than serving cold food.

Can't find fault at all with this place. The food is good the staff are amazing and there is more seating room upstairs if you look in and think it is full. In the summer there is a small cosy garden to sit and have a wonderful lunch from the vast menu which I have found so far to be cooked to perfection. Will definitely keep going back.

Just happened upon Hamers while in Bexley for the first time. We were six, and were seated at a nice big table upstairs. We had a selection of brunch and lunch dishes - eggs benedict and florentine, burgers, Caesar salad etc - and they all arrived quickly and were fresh and tasty. My own Club Burger was a gluttonous construction of excellent burger, perfectly cooked bacon and a fried egg. Delicious! Six big dishes and a bottle of Prosecco came to a princely £62 without service. Incredible value for money and exceptionally lovely staff.

Got served by a hot blonde waitress with curly hair and had yummy scrambled eggs on toast with mushrooms on the side.Fab.

Went there last Friday at about 3.30pm for a late lunch - checked on the closing time which was 5pm. Walked in and a lady behind the counter told us that they were closing. We thought you closed at 5pm we said and the response was that recently they'd been closing early due to staff shortages ! Would it not be helpful and even courteous to make this info available to potential customers rather than keep it a secret ?!?! Anyway we went to Melucci's and had a really nice lunch there

A great independent restaurant, food always a high standard and the staff are always happy to help. Prices are also very reasonable.

Great place to eat. Friendly atmosphere with a very homely feel. The food is excellent on every level, and more than satisfies a healthy appetite. Whether you pop in for a quick drink or stay a little longer and eat you never feel rushed. There is a cosy garden area where you eat, drink and relax weather permitting!! I should add that it is not my first visit and will certainly not be my last.

I visited Hamers for the first time while staying with my daughter. We went for lunch and I had the gammon and chips which was good. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I've only been to Hamers on the one occasion. There is a nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly. The choice of food is good and everything looks very clean and well presented. I was disappointed with the portion size so I would say it is a very light lunch and you don't get much for the money. The food is of a good standard but quite basic. Overall a pleasant dining experience.

First thing to say about Hamer's is that you'll find yourself in a fantastic atmosphere! From somebody who sees the importance in customer service and rapport, I always have the best experience from the moment I come through the door to the moment I'm waving goodbye after eating a fantastic meal!Danke Claudia für die Gastfreundlichkeit. We absolutely love this place. We travel from Farningham often to get lunch.Lovely to eat inside and the owners are lovely. Friendly and helpful. Place is spotless and food cooked fresh. What more can you ask for?

This place does what they do very well. We live closeby and have tried a few things. Never disappointed. The staff are lovely and the food is very tasty. What more could you want.

First time visitor this week for lunch. Absolutely loved it! Chose the Black & Blue Burger which was very tasty and well presented. Also at a more than fair price for the quality. Didn't try a pudding because I simply didn't have any room for more. But the cakes looked lovely and I noted a gluten free option which would help those with gluten intolerance to enjoy. Polite, attentive and welcoming service. Spotless surroundings and simple calming decor. Quietly busy atmosphere which made chatting easy. Deli items but they looked VERY appetising and tempting too. I will definitely revisit and I recommend highly.

This cafe/deli is a little gem and has really brightened up the culinary landscape in Bexley since it opened a couple of years back. The place is spotless, the food terrific (good portions, well priced), the surroundings lovely and the staff delightful. A new upstairs seating area has just been opened which should do away with the problem of people having to be turned away during busy periods, although that in itself should tell you just how good Hamers is - highly recommended.

First time I have been here and loved it. Had lunch with one of my daughters and will definitely be back, service was spot on, so was the food, so was the decor. EXCELLENT!!!

I use Hamers most day for lunch. Food choice - ExcellentService - ExcellentValue - ExcellentCleaniness - ExcellentStaff - ExcellentMatthew and his team have done so much at Hamers and there is still lots more to come from them. If your looking for somewhere to eat or need someone to arrange food for a wedding and or party then Hamers comes highly recommended.Well Done All.

I get the coffee as strong as I like it. It whoops Costa for coffee. Then there's the food selection ...

This place is what a delicatessen and restaurant should be. The staff and the owners just ooze class and friendliness. There is no acting going on here. It's real homemade food at fair prices cooked with skill and served with care.The full English is lovely and is my regular order. It's so good I have been known to eat 2...... That reflects my appetite and gluttony not any criticism over portion size.

We've had proper coffee, fresh pastries and tasty sandwiches in the little sun trap garden at the back. However the tastiest food I've had is the stuffed peppers, delish! A great, friendly place with no hassles, you could sit here all day and chill.

I haven't eaten in the cafe but the takeaway sandwiches are fantastic and really great value. There's a very good choice of hot and cold sandwiches and also a choice of different breads. There's always nice hot food options on display too as well as homemade cakes and biscuits.

This place is a little gem. It's spotlessly clean, well run and the staff are very polite, efficient and well presented. Their food is reasonable and of a high standard. If I'm wanting somewhere to go for a coffee with friends, I wouldn't go anywhere else. By far the best in Bexley.

I cannot fault this deli. Been in there many times and everything about it is great. Good food, spotlessly clean, polite and smart staff and very good value. Cannot say anything bad about this place. Definitely comes recommended and well worth a visit.
