Great place for a light bite & a coffee, been there a few times just because the food is great & people are very friendly. It's unique & quintessentially a small true Village Store but so accommodating. I will make ride (motorcycle) 32 miles each way just to take my wife there, I sure she'd love it.

Visited at 1.30 on Wednesday to get a coffee to be told they had stopped serving drinks for the day despite the sign still being outside and lots of people at tables drinking coffee. Very disappointing when you are really looking forward to it. The raspberries and blueberries we bought in the shop were delicious so 5 to the shop and 1 to the cafe.

This community store, comprises a deli cafe with delicious fresh food, local produce, artisan farm shop and post office. Run and supported by Volunteers, Hambledon Village in Surrey would be lost without it. It stocks a good range of everyday products alongside fresh local bread, vegetables, fruit, local meats, beer and wine for the parents, sweets, treats & ice creams for the children! All great quality and carefully thought out. The deli counter offers a wonderful selection of sweet and savoury treats, breakfast, lunch, snacks, sandwiches, milkshakes, pies & pastries, plus drinks. A popular meeting place with beautiful walks surrounding it, life on the Village Green does not get better than this. The staff are very friendly and efficient - many being locals, they know most of their customers. However, all customers are very warmly welcomed, quickly becoming friends and advocates of the shop. On top of this the shop hosts BBQ's in the summer and a fabulous Christmas Carol event every Christmas eve, with village choir, mulled wine and mince pies. Village life at its best.

Idyllic setting overlooking the cricket green and a magnet for walkers and those passing through. Slightly ramshackle which only adds to its charm. The sausage rolls were probably the best I’ve ever had and the freshly made sandwiches also very good. There’s a small post office there too which would be a good excuse for a coffee stop if nothing else. It has to be said that it’s certainly not cheap but maybe the old adage of you get what you pay for applies.

The establishment appears to be staffed by local volunteers, and this shows in the way it is run. As an outsider I felt that I was intruding in a family's own home, it was very creaky, and I was ignored until made my presence known. It is a less than typical village shop. Might be worth moving the village first before entering.

A truly horrendous visit to this establishment. Upon ordering three sandwiches the staff took 45 minutes to make and serve them for myself, my brother and father. One of the sandwiches had an incorrect filling which then took another ten minutes to remedy. The sandwiches tasted pretty good but the amount of time it took was a joke given we were due to be playing cricket across the road. Worst of all, for three basic sandwiches the total cost was over £16!!! Over £16 for three sandwiches at a village shop!! Absolute madness. We certainly won't be going back anytime soon...a real shame given how idyllic the setting is there.

A regular weekend treat after dog walks with my granddaughter. A real asset to the village, run by staff and generous hearted volunteers. The deli with the option to 'eat in' or takeaway is the primary attraction for us, but the well stocked village shop with fresh veg, flowers, newspapers, bread etc more often that not tempts us to buy! The deli is not a fast food outlet and all the better for that. But you will generally find a good choice of pre-prepared food ready to take away, if you're in a screaming hurry. Or place an 'off piste' take away order and it will be prepared immediately whilst you wait at the counter. We normally 'eat in' with coffee, soft drinks or the occasional cheeky beer, and the service is equally as efficient. Sandwiches, filled baps, scones, cakes etc, are all generously portioned, Truly Scrumptious, and very fairly priced given that they are home made with quality ingredients. If you value cost over quality and taste, there is a Tescos convenience store in Milford!

My wife and I decided to to stop off here after visiting Godalming. I am so pleased we did, it is in a beautiful tranquil setting opposite the cricket green and pavilion. It was a beautiful warm sunny day, and so we sat outside, we were very lucky. The shop and cafe (bakery) are very well stocked, and the staff are very welcoming, efficient, and friendly. We were a bit late for lunch, but nothing was too much trouble, and they would have provided us with hot food if we so desired. Instead we opted for sandwiches, I had coronation chicken,in lovely fresh bread, and my wife had the chicken with bacon and avocado. They both came with a very nice salad garnish. The sandwiches were delicious and huge, and therefore I was unable to manage any of their delicious looking cakes etc'. We were also served a very refreshing pot of tea. What a gem of a place, I can strongly recommend it, and would go back anytime. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Well I've just had another delightful lunch at the Hambledon Village shop Cafe.. Passing this way from time to time, I've never been disappointed with the quality of the food, quite the opposite, outstanding.. Today a delightful mushroom soup (clearly home made) and an amazing slice of pie in a pastry... On last weeks visit I fell in love with their own home made sausage rolls, out of this world; meaty, herby, sweet, slightly spicy, who knows what else but the Rolls Royce of the sausage roll in a puff pastry..
