Hamadan in Fylde

Food was good but not top level. The lamb Rogan Josh was slightly small but all the other meals we ordered were good portions. Restaurant is relatively cheap with the 5 course meal which is only 3 courses really as two courses are rice/naan and dips for poppadoms. Not sure if it is cheap otherwise. Staff were helpful and food was served at a good speed. The restaurant felt very clean and has improved a lot in this respect recently and recovered from their bad hygiene rating and now have a 4 hygiene rating. No outdoor seating but not normal anyway at an Indian.

The service and quality of this establishment has gone down a steep slope lately. They serve you the wrong food and the replacement came back swimming in oil and was not edible. The overall appearance is worse now than ever. The toilets are not fit for purpose and the carpet in the restaurant is black and needs replacing.

Haven't been here for several years. The staff are friendly enough, service is perfunctory. Their 'meal deal' is very good value for papadoms, starters and main course. All the food was well presented and full of flavour. Individual spices were prominent rather than a bland curry sauce. Above average for this type of restaurant.

apparently they do not serve tea or coffee as a recovering alcoholic I was made to feel very awkward.

We have been here a few times and haven't been disappointed, can't say that about Wednesday. I was disappointed with my main meal! It was lacking in flavour, and what there was was overshadowed by mint. The staff, though efficient, were lacking in personality and didn't engage in conversation or look at us when speaking to us. Wondering if we will go back. Hopefully they were just having an off day!

The title says it all. I’ve been frequenting Indian restaurants for 44 years and I can honestly say that I’ve finally found the worst restaurant in the country!!! How people give this establishment 5/5 is beyond me. They must like dining in a squalor and have their eyes shut when visiting the toilet. I’m also presuming they are regulars and get treated a lot better than new customers? There are so many 1/5 reviews on here that all say the same as each other…..so let’s start. First, the positives…..there isn’t any! Now the negatives and the truth about this place! It’s dirty, run down and shabby on the exterior. Unfortunately, it’s even worse inside. The carpet looks like it’s never had a vacuum over it and the walls are adorned with three different wallpapers, presumably because they were too tight to do the whole restaurant. Both the carpet and wallpaper(s) are something you’d expect to find in your great great grandmother’s house 100 years ago. The men’s toilet is nothing short of a health hazard, it’s got mildew, mould and black stains on the floor tiles, walls and ceiling. There’s also 3 large holes in the wall behind the urinal. The whole room stinks and I fully intend to be sending a letter to the appropriate authority with my findings. I’m amazed a restaurant is allowed to serve food to the public in these conditions. It was also noted that there is no hygiene rating sticker on any window of the restaurant which itself tells a story! The staff are extremely rude, condescending, arrogant and disrespectful. They have no idea how to treat customers, deal with any problems or even be polite, helpful or just smile! They also have no idea how to run a restaurant, interact with customers or communicate properly. They constantly brought drinks and food to the table and placed everything in front of me at one end of the table and told me to pass them down. Given we were a party of 12, not only was this impractical, but also dangerous with hot plates of food. Never have I come across this before where the customer acts as waiter! On the occasion where they did hand them out after being told dumping them with me wasn’t acceptable, they put hot plates of food within touching distance of a 1 and 2 year old children. When I asked for my Pakoras and Bhajis to come with my main meal, I was told adamantly ‘No, we serve the starters then the meals’. Again, never before have I heard of this where a waiter dictates to a paying customer how they should eat their food. They also made too many starters, served a different dish to what was ordered by someone, and my Peshwari Nan had no sign of coconut or sultanas in it. So, now my assessment of the food. The food is average at best, the portions are extremely small, and my chicken could easily of been rubber. My daughter’s curry was also full of water. All in all this restaurant is a disgrace as are the staff. Dining out should be a pleasurable experience and not a chore. Luckily for Hamadan only 2 of the 12 diners have bothered to do a review, otherwise they’d have another 10 reviews of 1/5. My advice to anyone thinking of coming here is to read all the reviews on here that are 1/5 and that should be enough evidence for you to take your hard earned money elsewhere. Needless to say this restaurant has acted appallingly and has made it easy for 12 diners to never return again.

Twelve of us went here on Saturday for my little boys birthday and I wish we never bothered. Staff are incredibly rude and my food in particular was terrible. The service is the main thing which put a dampener on the entire evening. They got quite a few starters incorrect and brought out too many, when we told them they’ve got it wrong there was nothing but attitude and standing there with a face on. When they brought drinks over they kept putting them at the closest end to them and not bothering to hand them out, to which my dad told them to hand them out properly. When they brought our food over, they put boiling hot plates and food right in front of my 1 and 2 year old, which my 1 year old was a split second away to putting his hand right in it, no common sense whatsoever! I ordered a chicken tikka masala which was 80% water, I didn’t even eat it it was that bad, I ended up just eating chips. When we’d had food, we got another round of drinks, to which they huffed and puffed at. Then they were continuously asking me to bring out the cake in which I refused as we wasn’t ready and wanted it to come out when we were ready. When they did eventually bring it out after they kept nagging, they put the cake with a sparkler on right in front of my little boy (again absolutely stupid!). I had to move it immediately and at this point I asked if they were taking the mick. Overall it was a total disappointment and I wish we’d never booked this place. I would avoid!!!

Lovely restaurant / take away with very friendly service. We thoroughly enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Pasanda and the Chicken Tikka Balti - both were absolutely delicious and full of flavour. We will definitely go back to Hamadan.

Had a meal here a year ago and it was excellent. Went back this evening and had best tasting Indian meal ever. Can't fault the place . Best Indian in Preston area.

We had not booked a table but as it was a Friday evening we thought at 9.30 pm would not be to late to call in for a last minute meal We were abruptly told We are closing ! After a few seconds of reflection the staff changed their minds and offered a main course with a time limit The food was good But attitude not so Surely try harder !!

Fantastic food, great service and the food and drinks were reasonably priced, will be visiting again. Chicken pakora and Bhuna delicious

we were booked in as a party of four on friday and the restaurant was already busy when we arrived, we were quickly seated but had to wait a few minutes for a drinks order to be taken. its a while since we have dined in at the hamadan and we really enjoyed our starters and main courses. We all commented on how had enjoyed everything. Service was efficient and friendly and we are looking forward to returning soon

I called in to book a table for two for our anniversary dinner after a few people recommended the food was really good. What a disappointment to say the least! The ‘manager’ who took our booking couldn’t even acknowledge nor even look us in the eye whilst taking our details. He was incredibly nonchalant and extremely ignorant whilst asking the basic details ie: name, date, time. I politely requested a menu to which he simply pointed to a table. I wanted to cancel then straight away. If that is the kind of service when booking, I dread to think of the service on the day. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and will be posting my review forthwith.

What a fabulous meal! I chose my favourite foods which can often be disappointing, but not here. It was a Thursday evening which meant poppadoms, chutneys, any starter, any main course with rice or nan cost less than £12. The service matched the food. Mr Khan was superb and ably supported by Liton. It was my first visit but I’m looking forward to dining here again soon.

I have been using this place often for takeaways - various family visit me from time to time and im always pleased to impress them with this Indian. What I would say is I wish the chefs would share the same skills as each other, as there is a big difference on quality and taste some weeks days as opposed to the weekend? yet still good - the only grumble i would have is the waiting time for meals, if a time is given for collection it should be ready then or couple of mins delay and not just start cooking it when we arrive....

Me and my family we all went to hamadan resturant to celebrationmy in-laws 60th wedding anniversary. We booked a table for 13 on a weekday. The food was great, staff was well attentive, everything was perfect but could do with few more part-timer as we only saw one person running around with the food. Service was great too cant complain. Menu was okay as we had the 12.90 deal. Only problem was we couldn’t get our seperate bill as i ended up paying out more. The decore is per-average needs to redone in my opinion, drinks was okay just didn't have what we normally get and the chairs not great they need replacin. Not comfortable to sit on. Other than that everything was okay. But could have been better.

I visit Hamadan regularly and I have never been disappointed . The food is absolutely delicious and there is a wide range of dishes on the menu . The hosting is amazing and the manager is always welcoming . I always enjoy my experience and it is just an amazing high class restaurant . The value is very good and worth the money . I would definitely recommend this place !

Could not fault there was 15 of us everyone was served together hot plates food hot it was delicious as usual 1st time here for most of them but will all return staff were very friendly

I visited Hamadan for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was ! The service was fantastic and the short manager with a kind face and not of a beard welcomed us and made sure we were ok . Our food arrived fast and it was nice and hot too . I loved the bar and the atmosphere was so relaxing . I definitely will be coming back . Thank you very much .

As stated. Not that good. Expected more from an Indian restaurant in Longridge. But understand the staff are from Oldham and they are bused in. Maybe look to find local people.

Myself and friend had, yet again another excellent meal at Hamadan. Couldn't fault it. My favourite Lamb Korai is just delicious..as always. Perfect meal and friendly staff

Popped in for a quick curryThe menu is very interesting with a series of dishes I had not seen before so I chose one of them at random.What arrived was a very tasty lamb dish though the description of "medium" overstated somewhat the strength of the chilli flavour.The cucumber raitha was good.One downside was that the young man who served seemed to have little idea about the dishes on the menu or maybe it was just that his english was not too good.Definitely worth a try as the ambiance is nice.

We came in to eat and we got the mead deal. The service was really good, drinks where good too. We had a lovely time with family. Had a stunning time at Hamadan. Food was delicious as always never been let down by the food. Having said the the naan needs to be cooked more feels doughy on top but enjoyed the food. Service was on point other than the odd time where chap with the beard kept on coughing loudly other that all is well. Lovely happy bartender. Kept us all happy made us laugh. Would go again only just for the great services it was exceptionally well organised. The atmosphere was bright. Menue price was reasonable compared to the other restaurants. Loved every single bit of it. Would like to thank the staff and especially thanks to kan and his lil apprentice for looking after us and making our day one to remember. However, just on the down side the they do need to revamp the place.

Hamadam has been our local Indian restaurant for a couple of years.We are never disappointed by the food or service.Yes it's not a fancy place, but does exactly what you expect, great food, great value and great service.Recommend the Salmon Bahar and Cheese Kufta (it has meat in it!)Just as well it isn't open at lunch-time!

This little restaurant remains popular.There have been some staff changes sinde my last visit and I did't find them as friendly, perfunctory service but they were very busy.The menu is extensive.Our food arrived relatively quickly.On the whole the food was good but I don't like the red colouring common to many of the dishes.Prices are average.OK for a basic curry night out.

Visited on Saturday night. It was very busy, which we took to be a good sign. The menu was large and you can practically get anything. We ordered curries and poppadoms and it was all fine. The naan was fresh, as were the poppadoms. The service was professional but definitely not friendly. It was all OK, nothing special.

The food is good quality, most of the staff are really nice, but the,I presume manager, short slim guy,is a disgrace. On two occasions he has been, to say the least extreamly unfriendly. The first time stopped us eating there, we stupidly decided to try it again and he treated us like second class people again.

I come here regularly, really nice, great value for money, you never have to wait long for your food.

Not been for a good 12-18months and nothing’s changed! They do the best chicken tikka korma going, it’s like heaven on a plate. Very reasonable price wise, quiet and cosy and super efficient.

Been going here since it opened in Longridge several years ago. The last two visits have been great. The food was great and the staff as usual very attentive and personable.

A fabulous curry night with my Sis, the staff at Hamadan were great. The food was tasty, fresh and there was a good menu to choose from with lots of variety.

Called on a cold midweek night, restaurant empty, looked comfortable, seating for takeaway waiting is comfortable, had takeaway, friendly service, food kept warm till I arrived home about half hour later. Varied Menu from several South East Asian countries, with several specials not seen elsewhere, curries marked to various heats, many available in mild or medium or medium or hot. On-street parking, high step at entrance with grip bar. Open 7 days.

Better than average food, a good range of dishes, friendly and attentive service and keenly priced food and drink.

La primera visita aquí la última noche y mi pareja y yo tuvimos la oferta de cinco platos y un par de cervezas. La comida nos pareció bien hecha y sabrosa, las raciones eran un poco pequeñas, sin embargo, había suficiente para nosotros. . . . .

Tuvimos una comida 'Aceptar'. Nada de que quejarse, pero el menú podría hacer con algunos platos diferentes; algo para hacerlo un poco diferente. Habiendo dicho que había una promoción en enero que hizo la propuesta, platos principales, guarniciones y 2 cervezas sólo £33, así que no puedo quejarme. Servicio estuvo bajo presión de sábado por la noche y si yo no había solicitado a la orden que pueden haber sido esperando bastante tiempo más. Para una comida cuando no quieres cocinar o después del pub esta bien pero no es, de ninguna de las maneras, un lugar al que acudir para una celebración.

Este lugar no parece ser mucho desde el exterior, pero sirven comida deliciosa en los precios muy razonables. Teníamos poppadoms, Gambas Puri, pollo Tandoori Tandoori Mixed Grill, a Tarka Dahl, Sag Paneer, Pilau arroz y un Keema pan. Todo estaba muy sabroso, único inconveniente era, pedí el naan para ser bien preparado, pero aún así era pasada. Sin duda comer aquí.

No he sido un poco pero fuimos anoche con algunos amigos. Terrible comida. Porciones muy pequeñas y el pollo estaba cocinado y comprobar gomosos. Las salsas eran blanco junto con azúcar y no muy agradable. Los camareros muy interesado en nuestro exclusivo. No volveremos.

Very clean and fresh. Staff very attentive. nice food with a good choice on the menu. reasonably priced, called in here with family after a trip out, was early evening, offered a table immediately. quick service and didn't have to wait long between courses. first Asian restaurant I've been to in ages that also has a sweet menu as well, however shame it didn't include Indian sweets and was basic ice cream etc.anyway that's only a little thing, food was lovely and plenty enough all the family enjoyed.their meal

After having a few take aways from here and the rice being hard I was very impressed with our experience of eating in at the weekend. The service was great and efficient, the food was tasty and very reasonably priced.

Been here lots of times, only round the corner from where we live, how lucky are we! Only just thought I ought to review! Love the food here tasty hot and good value. The staff are always attentive and look after you. It's clean and well cared for opens at 5.30pm so great for tea. There s a good variety of dishes and the food is always well served at a good pace between courses. Yum!!!

Come here once a week on average and can honestly say we have never had a bad meal. The restaurant is clean and the waiters are always friendly. We travel from Blackpool and pass many Indian restaurants to get to the Hamadan.

First time I have been here and pleasantly surprised. Very clean and tidy - toilets fresh and no odours. Menu more exciting and not the usual range. The meal deal was excellent value and table service very good.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Hamadan - the starter of Prawn Puri was tasty, main course curry was fresh and fragrant and naan bread delicious. Will definitely visit again.

Trip Advisor's robots are always nagging me to leave reviews and it struck me that I'm probably one of the best-placed to review this local restaurant since we either eat there, or get a take-away from them, at least once a month. And have, ever since it opened. I was surprised to see that the Hamadan has a fair number of indifferent and poor reviews. We have, in all honesty, never once had a bad meal or poor service from them.I do remember reading a review of the place, once, which complained that the food was "too spicy" but I put this down to NFL (normal for Longridge) it's Bangladeshi food and it's kinda supposed to be spicy, like beer is supposed to be wet and people are supposed to be reasonable. Now that I've read a number of unfavourable reviews, I'm starting to wonder if it might be one of those places that people either fall in love with, or immediately dislike.Fortunately for me, I love the Hamadan and so does the rest of my family. They have a fantastic range of curry dishes and they will happily make you a more powerful, or more mild, version of anything to suit your palate. Chicken Jalfreizi is my firm favourite but the vegetable curries are also excellent. They have Cobra on draught. They are incredibly friendly and helpful. As a life-long curry enthusiast I'd say that the only place where I've had a better curry (apart from my wife's cooking, obviously darling) is in the Wee Curry Shop in Glasgow. Since the Hamadan is 3 miles away and the Wee Curry Shop is 200 miles away, it's a bit of a no-brainer.I think that the best advice that I could give a first-time visitor would be to talk to them. If you like more or less of a particular flavour, tell them when you order. They are good, but they probably don't have strong telepathic powers. Oh, and don't put too much faith in the "heat rating" on the menu. It's a bit arbitrary.Finally, you may be surprised, but because they run so many promotions in the restaurant, it's often cheaper to eat in than to go and pick up a take-away.

I have had good meals here before. Decent flavour good service. We went a week last Sunday and feel their standards have slipped. The food was quite bland and service adequate. That's the best I can do.

This is the best Indian (actually Bangladeshi) restaurant I have ever had the fortune to visit. The food here is spot on, tasty, with a great subtlety of fresh spices and a marvellous pickle tray. I've eaten at countless Indian restaurants and Hamadan always comes out the best.

Haven't been here for a long time and won't be returning. We had the meal deal which was well priced. The poppadom was tasty but the chutneys were not very inspiring. The main courses had sauces that were far too sweet. The naan was very thin and quite tasteless. The rice was ok. Seems such a shame as I am sure that they could do better. The service was ok - they were polite and friendly and the food arrive quite speedily.

I visited this resturant last night with family and can't say I was impressed. Staff are not freindly enough or welcoming. The food was average it wasn't bad but nothing to shout about.also the lay out is awful I went to the loo before leaving and there are tables right outside the toilet door! Not very nice for the couple sitting there! Overall I would not reccomend to others this place would be great with a shake up! But until then I feel if u visited here it would be a disssapointment and rushed meal. Perhaps try the sangam in lostock hall the service is excellent much better than here and a extremely high standard of food.

I haven't visited Hamadan for a few months so I was really looking forward to a good curry, they have meal deals on most weekend so I booked for 8 8clock .We arrived at 8 wasnt as busy as I thought so no problems waiting drinks to start they have Cobra on draught nice beer I ordered chicken tikka to start followed by chicken madras and plain rice my girfriend ordered chicken chat for starter followed by chicken dopiaza with rice both meals just perfect .They have a good selection of dishes on the menu but different choices become available all the time and if what you want isn't on the menu just ask and they will make it for you.A great night all round fantastic food top class service all at a great price , what more can you ask for thanks Hamadan.

Went a few weeks ago and was charged £2.00 for a jug of blackcurrant juice...went today and tried to charge us £4.50! When I asked why it has increased so much he told us we need to hurry up as our table was pre-booked! We have been a few times and the staff (in particular the balding one with the quiet voice) are extremely rude and always try and con you out of a few extra pound's. On top of that the food is really greasy...go to Indian Lounge up the road it's much better. Try both and you will see what I mean. I have never met waiters as rude, arrogant and conning as they are...watch your bill very closely and work out the cost before you part with your money...they must make £100's doing this, it's every time we have been there.

Had the 6 course for £9.90. Found it amusing that chutney tray is a course but my friends and I all enjoyed our meals and it's great value too.

Been here a few times now after being recommended to go by my boyfriend and his family. Originally went with my boyfriend, told my mum about it and now she's always wanting to go! Staff are lovely and are always making the effort to have a conversation with you. Food is delicious and service is good. It's such good value for money too :) I've moved away from Preston now so don't know when I will be able to go again but I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!

I have been going to the Hamadan for last couple of years and never experienced a bad meal.The service is so quick and waiter very attentive and helpful. The dip with poppadoms are lovely and extremely well presented. We both ordered the special dishes and the were lovely,well prepared and extremely tasty.The cost of the meal £9.90 for 6 course meal per person I remembered instantly why I keep going back to this restautrant.

I travel a lot due to work and found this place by luck. Very nicely set and very warm and staff were very welcoming. There house specials are the best I have had so far. Been there number of times and done a few big business deals there lol. So keep it up lads and keep my clients happy. Thanks for the bottle wine.

This is the second time I had a meal here sadly, every time I'm ill terrible stomach ache, the food is absolutely tasteless very greasy not authentic Indian food, service is also quite slow...Only thing going for this restaurant good value for money if you like poor food!

This was a spur of the moment decision to go here for our first visit. The restaurant itself lacks a little in quality and the initial service was not great but that quickly improved. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. I will certainly give it another try.

We are frequent visitors to this lovely little Indian Restaurant. The staff are always eager to please, and if time permits they will engage in conversation and make you feel welcome. The food is always excellent even at their busiest, we have never been disappointed in all the time we have been going there.

I have eaten at this curry house multiple times and have thoroughly enjoyed every visit. Not only are the curries absolutely divine but there is always a fantastic offer on making it an easily affordable night out. The portion sizes are great (if not a bit on the big side!) as is the quality of the food. The service is also faultless with a team of very pleasant gentleman. The only negative I can pick on is the fact that it is slightly lacking in atmosphere, mainly due to it's size - but the food more than makes up for this.I highly recommend!

Great food, great staff and brilliant offer at the moment. Food half price until Jan 31st. We had never used this restaurant before, but we will be back. This is a small well presented Indian restaurant. We like tasty food, you get this by the bucket here. My hubby went for the faithful chicken tikka I tried the garlic mushroom puri. Was not disappointed hot and flavorsome. We then had chicken bunha and the chiefs special recipe. Again well presented and very tasty. Many thanks for making us feel welcome and answering our daft questions about the menu. Can't wait for another excuse to go again. If you go at peak times, book ahead.

Have been to this restaurant several times over the years and never been disappointed.Visited on a Sunday evening this week.Pleasant clean uncluttered decor gives a relaxed atmosphere. Friendly efficient staff. The usual 'Indian' menu. The chutney selection is tasty. Starters are well presented. Main courses are ample and flavoursome. Despite being busy with a large party the evening was very enjoyable [in sharp contrast to another local restaurant last week]The bill was about £10 per head with drinks because of a half price offer! Excellent value without compromising portions or standards. Will be back.

First timers for a family meal and was fantastic. The hospitality was top notch, approachable and accommodating staff that couldnt do enough for you, all food was fresh and tasty which was enlightened whilst there by the knowledge it had just received a 5* food and hygiene rating. Not only great food and service but for a 6 course meal it was £9.90, absolutely wonderful value for a lovely evening out. Would recommend for any type of social occasion wanting a good value traditional Indian.

This is one of two Indian restaurants in Longridge and both always have a reason to offer half price meals, strangely. We've been to both and they are just as good as one another though Hamadan is smaller. The food at Hamadan is reliably good, the service is great staff are always friendly, and it's always very cheap. The only slight negative is the restaurant is small and quit closely crammed in, but that doesn't stop us from going. If you're after a quality Indian meal you can't go wrong with this place.

Good food with reliable consistency. They like their spices here so stress if you want it mild. Never had a bad meal. Would be great to see some specials occasionally but i know that's not the norm. Not a large restsurant so book at weekends.

Went to the Hamadan last night to celebrate a family occasion. The staff were very friendly, unfortunately the food was only mediocre, it was served well, but it all tasted the same! We had the six course meal, The starter tasted the same as the main course, The chutney tray tasted the same as the starter. All in all the meal was OK, but it won't be a place I'd be visiting again.

Since the Hamadan took over the old THYME premises, it has had a delightful re-vamp, which gives a welcoming ambience as one enters.The staff are extremely pleasant and the food is good and appears to be freshly made.
