What can I say 🤷🏻‍♂️ Everything was amazing. From the minute we stepped in through the door, the vibe took us over. Nothing pretentious. A modern Greek restaurant, offering beautiful authentic greek meze plates (I'm Greek and I can tell if something is authentic or not), with super friendly and knowledgeable staff, upbeat music (thank god, not the cliché greek bouzouki music), mixed crowd (from young people to 'golden girls' -there were some lovely ladies sitting at the table next to us), and overall a beautiful dining experience. Well done to everyone and a special thank you to Kristin who was looking after us tonight. Thank you, guys, and we'll see you soon again. P.s. for your customers. Service charge is not included, so don't forget to add a tip at the end 😉

Fulfilling portions, delicious food, good veggie options, halloumi overload! Was sad that the grilled octopus was unavailable—it would have made my day because I love octopus, paprika, and houmous. Cosy and warm ambience, you can even see the staff preparing your food and drinks.

Staff were disinterested and service was slow. The items I ordered arrived 10 minutes after my colleagues had finished theirs. Won't be going back

Food was tasty but pricey , service was bare minimum but what ruined our experience was the flies issue (which i noticed has been mentioned before.) We were trying to eat and we had loads of small flies all over our food.Raid wont help you and its not nice spraying at your restaurant when people are eating around. You need to call pest control

Was in Glasgow with my friends who were visiting from Greece 14th of Feb 25. We felt this restaurant was very poor, had to wait on one meal for a long time , which they charged £ 9 for two skewers of chicken. Also the drinks are well over priced. The portion are very small as well . Would not recommend this place.

As a Greek myself, I would not recommend coming here to anyone. We came to try it out as we have very good experience from another Greek restaurant in the area, but yeah we shouldn't have. The price of food is a bit too expensive for the small portions they provide, menu doesn't have enough information on it and the server didn't help either with it. Place looked clean, but a bit too many flies were swarming around us which we had to cover our food and drink so they don't go there. All in all, a terrible experience and not worth it

Reason for the one star is that the place was full of fruit flies. We asked to be moved further away from the kitchen and toilets, but the flies were really persistent. I appreciate they can happen but there's an issue with hygiene when the place was swarming in them. I have been here couple of times and food is nice but I won't be back until the fly issue is resolved.

It was my second time at Halloumi and it was simply incredible. The food was amazing, I really like how the Greek dips come with a Pitta bread that you can share with the table. The dessert was definitely the best part! I also loved the service and atmosphere, definitely recommend to come here for dinner.

Overall the food here was pretty good. Perhaps the red pepper dip was a too salty but the souvlaki was great, whilst being quite expensive considering it doesn’t come with anything else. Unfortunately I had 4-5 tiny flies buzzing around me, my food and wine throughout the meal. I mentioned it to the staff and they agreed it was a known issue. I couldn’t finish the wine as flies had gotten inside. Not a great experience tbh

The food was the most mediocre I've had in and outside Greece. I did not like the ambiance and the attitude of the employees. I don't recommend this place.

I have become at least 25% olive oil after eating here. It's flavorful, healthy, and delicious. The service is fantastic. P.S. GET THE OLIVES WHILE YOU WAIT.

I ordered pork souvlaki and it came with a dressing and vegetables on top. I dislike onions very much and there was no mention on the menu that this dish would contain any. On the menu is just simply listed as pork souvlaki with no further description. If it was listed, I would’ve asked for them to be removed. I have scraped them off myself. Otherwise, the food was good. Portions are quite generous and with the starters you also get some pita bread.

We have returned "home" to visit family and came here , as we know it to be good. Well, it's not good , it's blooming FANTASTIC. The food seriously is to die for. Wonderful flavours, perfect presentation and great ambiance. Star in the crown was our server Daisy , and absolute credit to you Helpful, smiling, lovely personality, she's a star. Thank you everyone for making it a meal to remember . Until next time .

What a fantastic meal we all had, excellent quick service. Food was tremendous. All set in a wonderful friendly atmosphere. This was all done while the place was busy. Well done, we shall be back.

Lunchtime experience marred by "get them in and out quickly" inappropriate music blaring out of the speakers. Otherwise, good food at good prices (drinks on the expensive side) and nice service.

The food was genuinely great. But I was completely unable to hear the people sitting right next to me from how loud the music was. We even asked two of our waiters to turn it down, and they both said they didn't like it either and would speak to their managers. Nothing changed. I am not hard of hearing, and neither were the other 7 people we dined with, but we all had to shout at each other while sitting next to one enother... we all agreed we won't be back here after today. It's a shame because the food is so good, but if we wanted a space with loud music, we would have gone to a bar, not a restaurant. I came back home with a sore throat and ringing ears after being in there for only 2 hours. And before anyone says that it's to cover the people talking, it's curious how nice and quiet everyone was in the small breaks between songs. Genuinely disappointed to not have been able to enjoy a dinner with people I see once a year...

Lovely food and caring staff. Nice atmosphere. We ordered the mezze and everything was delicious and well presented. Also the Greek white wine was perfect with the meal.

A few things tasted good (not the gyros, unfortunately) but we found the combination of food, service and atmosphere average at best.

First time in Glasgow and looking for a place to eat near the hotel and found this gem. Food was tasty, fresh, service was excellent. The small plates were great because it meant we can try lots on the menu. Highly recommend. The feta tempura with mango dressing was my favourite.

We arrived 30mins early and staff were kind enough to let us have a table. Having recently spent time in Athens & Hydra I wanted to taste more of that beautiful Greek food, oh my god it was really great authentic food. They did fantastic cocktails too! I can't wait to go again.

Came for a dinner with a group of friends. I tried several dishes and I was pretty underwhelmed honestly. The portions are quite modest and the quality of the food isn't exactly exceptional. The prices are slightly higher and the food a bit worse than similar restaurants in the area, so I can't recommend this place.

Really nice Greek food and nice ambiance 🤘

We have been using this place for over a year now and had enjoyed decent food. However more recently had a really bad upset stomach 5 months ago with the King praws and chilli which prawns felt weird and should have returned them, and more recently with the calamari where both myself and daughter where serioulsy food poisoned and both lost 6 days out of our lives.Managment advised of issus and got refunded but will not be returning after these two incidents.

Wow! Food was absolutely incredible, tasting fresh, authentic, and full of flavour! Staff were kind and friendly. The space is beautiful, and an awesome atmosphere! Highly recommend visiting this absolute gem, we are so grateful to have found it. Thank you Halloumi Glasgow.

Disappointing experience with friends. We were asked when we were seated if we wanted the drinks menu and they’d come back and take our order. 45 minutes later, our drinks order was taken and we only had the table for two hours so then we still had to order food. There were food allergies in our party that were taken note of but then food still came to the table that had the allergens and when we mentioned this, a member of staff just shrugged his shoulders and was very dismissive. Once the food was sorted it was lovely but it all took so long that we didn’t have time to order dessert or another drink. Another disappointing move was our change from the bill wasn’t returned until we asked. A service charge had already been added to the bill and we had change to get back but it had been kept. Nice food but overall disappointed with the service.

Excellent authentic food. Was very busy when we were there but after the food order was taken, the food didn't take too long to arrive. Meze so lots of different dishes gotten and all perfect. Definitely recommend. Now my favourite Greek restaurant

A fabulous Greek restaurant in the middle of Glasgow. We had the express lunch menu which gave us lots of choice and we shared our food. It was delicious and great value for money. The staff were really friendly and efficient. It was reasonably busy at 2pm on a weekday. Really pleasant lighting and ambience.

Popped in on spec. Had a super lunch off the quick menu. Great food and ambience. Staff very friendly. Recommend the lamb meatballs and the spanakopita.

Assolutamente consiglianti. I piatti erano ottimi (da 5 stelle), cucina greca abbastanza fedele alla tradizione ma in un ambiente contemporaneo dove poter bere anche un buon cocktail in un ambiente carino e rilassante. Ero in viaggio da solo, ma lo consiglio anche in coppia e per una cena con pochi amici. Il servizio sufficientemente rapido e nella media in quanto a gentilezza, ma direi buono e non ottimo, per vie di piccole sviste sulle bevande. Lo consiglio e ci tornerei nuovamente

Lovely food and authentically Greek. The current fad of small plates is nice to try different dishes, but having 3 per person pushes towards expensive. But highly recommended all the same

We had a delicious meal. It was busy and yet we were able to eat quickly. We shared our dishes and everything was tasty. Definitely recommended.

Tasty food for decent prices! I’d recommend the halloumi gyros and the feta tempura. my partner had the calamari and a lamb gyros and he enjoyed them a lot as well!

Stopped in for a drinks and takeaway. The young brunette hostess was quite rude and didn’t speak at any point after taking the order. Each time she brought something out, she had an irritated look, but would immediately turn around and start talking and dancing with other staff members….The salad was good, but wouldn’t come back just based on the negative experience.

Moussaka was salty and the Stifado was tough but everything else was nice.

This place on the Southside of Glasgow no longer exists !!! It closed down 4 months ago. However the venue has re-opened as the Torrisdale. The barman was very welcoming. We had their small plates for lunch and the food was very good 👍

A modern Greek restaurant with a tasteful and well thought out interior design. Not your standard mixed grill, but multiple mezzes to share with your company. The quality of the food was really good. Excellent choice for both vegetarians and meat lovers. Yamas!

Visited after reading previous reviews and weren’t disappointed. Service great and food was amazing, lovely atmosphere and setting.

Had the express lunch menu and it’s fantastic value for money. You get a lot of food so make sure you’re hungry. Food was also really tasty and the staff are really efficient and friendly. It’s a nice place too if it’s a work lunch, not formal but not a cafe either. Have recommended to a few people who like to have a more restaurant vibe for work lunches.

Absolutely delicious food and the service was amazing, 10/10 would come back!

The food was alright but not good enough for the constant rush over our table time from pretty much the moment we arrived. The server was time checking us every 20 minutes which made it feel like I gulped down my lunch. Their card reader wouldn't work and the assumption was I didn't have any money in my bank. That's not good service in any place, technology does fail occasionally and rather than insult their customers they should bear that in mind. Will not be back

MOUSE IN THE KITCHEN ! I have been a customer to Halloumi (Glasgow City Center) for years and I have always been amazed by the food and service. I went two weeks ago, and it was an absolute disaster. I saw a mouse crossing the restaurant twice, so I advised the waitress and the Chef, who both saw it. A guy (I assumed he was the manager because he did not introduce himself) told me that he was calling someone. He never apologized and just brought the bill to our table since we were leaving. They offered no apology for a mouse running through the restaurant and their open kitchen, seeing chefs take photos and continuing with service, it was shocking. The main shock was the attitude of this manager, which was unapologetic unprofessional and almost aggressive when I brought it up. I have worked in hospitality for years, and this behavior has never been acceptable. Unfortunately, I’ll never come back.

Had a lovely meal with family. Service and the food were excellent. All the dishes we picked we all enjoyed. No room for dessert as was just too full.

A bit expensive, the meat was chewy and overcooked. The service was ok, but I didn't get any Greek vibes. Unfortunately, GYROS is only real in Greece!

We got here quite late (9pm) buy luckily they had a spare table. The staff were very efficient and the food was delicious. Only thing I can say that could be viewed as bad is that the suggested 3 dishes per person is a bit on the upper end of how much food it is comfortable to eat. Would probably say 4-5 dishes for 2 people.

Superb food with excellent service. Thought the drinks, the wine in particular, were a bit pricey..but otherwise a great experience.

Loved the Halloumi in Strathbungo. Bright, airy, spacious, unhurried, easy parking. Halloumi Hope Street is tightly packed, airless, very loud, customers shouting over the music....tables small....plates crammed on to them... parking is a problem. Food mediocre at best. Very disappointing compared to our experience South Side. We won't be back. Staff, to their credit, unfailingly pleasant. If the owners had to decide which Halloumi should stay open...they chose the wrong one.

Our food and cocktails were all amazing. We got vegetable moussaka, halloumi and sweet potato burger, loaded halloumi fries, houmous and pitta and extra pitta between two and we *almost* finished it all.

They used to have a spot on the Southside that was large, relaxed and airy. This is the opposite. Tables crammed in with barely enough room for one plate let alone sharing plates, loud music and everyone jammed into a tiny space. Food was underwhelming (why add batter to halloumi?). Generally was a disappointment compared to our experience in the now closed location in Strathbungo.

Booked Saturday night. Arrived and had to wait for table to be set. Seated right beside a large noisy hen night party with the noise so loud we could not properly discuss menu and how best to order . The large hen party spoiled our night entirely and staff could do nothing about it. Staff were attentive and food was tasty. Menu could be a bit better explained as it appears that for main courses you only get what you asked for. EG meatballs you get 4 meatballs in sauce. Chops you only get the chops with some onion. No chips or potatoes or veg served with main dishes. So beware and think carefully about what you order. No need for restaurant to take large parties on a Sat night as restaurant would probably fill up. Sorry but we will not go back as the environment was exceptionally noisy and totally unsuitable for a meal with friends

Food 4.5**** Service 1* Not a personal criticism of the waitresses but more of the service culture of the restaurant. Rushed and impersonal, first they placed a bottle of wine at our table without even opening, let alone pouring it! We reserved a table of 4 for 1830 and spent about £180, they kicked us off the table after about 90 mins while a large group of 20 at the next table seemed to have unlimited time, and were made to feel like an inconvenience....

I consistently find the cuisine at this establishment to be highly enjoyable. My recent meal consisted of a Greek salad accompanied by tahini and tzatziki sauces, pita bread, olives, calamari, and pork souvlaki. The calamari was characterized by its crispiness and tenderness, while the pork exhibited a delightful tenderness and the distinctive flavour imparted by the barbecue grill, as is customary for this dish #foodie #greekfood

Excellent food. My partner and I shared 3 courses each. Portions are small but surprisingly filling and tastes amazing. Chicken Gyros, Stifado and halloumi fries definitely recommended!

First visit and it was good in the main. Seated straight away at our booking time and the server took the time to explain the menu. Food was excellent. Pork gyros. Chicken souvlaki. Meatballs. Loaded halloumi fries and the star for me...swordfish and prawn souvlaki. All good so far but things then took a little turn. We'd ordered an espresso and when dropping it off the server mentioned that they needed the table back in five minutes. Now that would be fine if the liqueur we ordered didn't take 10 minutes to arrive and then another 10 for the espresso which we actually had to chase up. If you want people to stick to 90 minutes you need to make sure you're on your game with the speed of service. Time was the only issue. All our servers were polite and friendly. It was a shame because the food was excellent but the end of the visit is what sticks in our minds. Would probably try again as the food was lovely.

Came here for my wife's birthday and it was fantastic. Quality of the football was outstanding, prices reasonable a service was first class. Will be back again...as again and again and again...

Amazing greek food would highly recommend!!

Just to list off a few of the main issues • Table was very cramped for 2 with drinks and plates of food • Food was sub paar at best, the tzatziki was very bland and the pitas were a bit overdone on the grill so we're rather hard • The gyros were decent although the chicken was a bit overdone, not as soft as I've has on my trips to trurky/greece/Cyprus. • Music was legitimately rap music at 5pm on a Sunday. I like rap but is this really fitting the mood? • Was a little dark considering its advertised as light There are other small things that do not need discussed but I think you get the point. Paying good money for a pretty average at best experience is kinda a shame. I am very fond of the food and frequent other traditional Turkish and Greek/Cypriot restaurants because they're always such a pleasure. Wouldn't return at all because it just isn't worth the money. The service was great and unfortunately the drinks were the best part of the experience. The Mango Daiquiri was amazing and watching the chef allow meat to catch fire and a server to go into the kitchen to point at it was also a highlight. I wish I was kidding.

Services are excellent! The servers are friendly and nice. Food comes fast and hot. Love their dip so much! And the price is so reasonable! Highly recommended!

The food was really good we were pleased with everything

Had heard mixed reviews from friends but really loved the menu so decided to go. The food is excellent, got a table which was a little cramped but the service was excellent. Lots of options to choose from, opted for 3 dishes each but the gyros was an overstep, was too greedy :-) Everything else was great, the deep fried feta with mango chilli (I think I've got that right) was immense, everything else was delicious. Great and very attentive service and very good value. Would probably prefer some other beers to choose from but the cocktails were excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to go back. If you find this useful please hit like, I'm trying to be an expert reviewer 🤣

Our first visit to this restaurant and we weren’t disappointed. We went just after 5pm and it filled up very quickly, so would advise to book. Food was delicious and staff pleasant and accommodating. Will certainly return and recommend. Ty 😀

We loved the variety of flavours in our food. Every dish was a hit. I was a big fan of the vegetarian options! Staff was very attentive and friendly. Honourable mention to the early naughties hip hop soundtrack playing when we were there.

The food was good and the place is pretty cool. Regarding the service, it could be improved. The waiter reproached us for arriving 10 minutes early, and brought us a beer that was not the one we had ordered, arguing that it was the same... (photo attached).

Went in to try their lunch deal. At £12.95 it’s not the cheapest if you add on a juice and a tip but not too bad! I got pitta bread with houmous, crispy calamari and halloumi bruschetta. Calamari was just okay but everything else was great. Really enjoyed the bruschetta. Server was also great, looked like she was on herself and she was doing a great job.

Beautiful setting cosy with good atmosphere I love all the small plates and the portion sizes are good, the staff will answer any questions about the food etc and are lovely I have been before and will return.

We were recommend to visit Halloumi on Hope street by a friend and had a great experience. After a long day trip shopping in Glasgow we had worked up an appetite and ready to feast. We booked a table of three people at 4:00pm for Saturday. Upon entering the restaurant was busy yet staff were attentive with a warm welcome before swiftly seating us at a table. The restaurant has a casual dining look with quirky Greek decor. Wooden seats were a little uncomfortable but could be easily improved with some cushions. The menu offered a great range of mezzo meat/seafood and veggie options to choose from. Our lovely waitress Katie recommend ordering 2/3 dishes each which was more than enough for three hungry dinners. The fried halloumi, keftedes - lamb meatballs, swordfish & king prawn souvlaki were all delicious. The Chicken gyros were good too but very large for a mezzo and more like a main. Even though the restaurant was busy, dishes were served quickly but at slightly different times, so some people were left waiting a little longer than others. Appreciate the kitchen area is small so they appeared to get dishes prepared and served quickly. Overall positive experience 9/10 and plan to return.

Had a really nice meal here, apart from the chicken gyros - the meat was so dry and overcooked it was actually unedible and was sent back. However, everything else was absolutely delicious and the staff couldn't have been nicer about it all.

Small Plates were decent. Halloumi Fries were decent. Calamari was stringy not crispy, chicken skewers were nice n tender. Service wasn't very evident but may b its city centre thing. Busy spot, booking is must.
