We traveled all the way from Edinburgh to try this Mediterranean restaurant, and it was absolutely worth the journey! From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance and friendly staff made us feel right at home. The highlight, however, was the dessert paired with a cup of smooth Turkish coffee. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who were happy to accommodate our requests and even share a bit of the story behind some dishes. It’s rare to find a place that combines authentic cuisine, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere so seamlessly. We’ll definitely be back—this restaurant is a true Mediterranean gem in Glasgow.

Wanted to try something different. The meals we chose weren't available, but the ones we got were lovely and there was lots of it. The atmosphere might be different at weekends, it was very quiet when we went.

I didn’t have a good experience at this restaurant. I chose this place based on customer’s google reviews. We were 5 people, we were not all served at the same time. we have noticed that the rice is the same regardless of the name of the dish! The meat was undercooked. However the staff is very friendly and the restaurant was clean.

The mince kabbab dish was so delicious, the babaghanouish was so good, the Iraqi bred was so yummy, staff very nice, price was very fair. All the mentioned so far I gave it 5 stars. The atmosphere only 2 stars, the place looks dark, and could use some re-decoration. There were a very loud group of men, speaking on the phone on speaker, it ruined my experience a little bit.

I recently visited AlSultan restaurant in Glasgow for dinner at 7:45 PM, but the experience was highly disappointing. We waited 45 minutes for the first portion of our meal, followed by another 15-minute wait. The food was poorly cooked, with cold meat containing ice inside. Despite reporting these issues, the staff were unresponsive. I found raw chicken in the mixed grill and haid in qozi meal, posing serious health risks. The manager’s response was dismissive, offering only a 10% discount on uneaten food and becoming hostile and confrontational. He even threatened to call the police with baseless accusations. Additionally, the lack of basic facilities was appalling—no heating, hot water, or toilet paper, reflecting severe hygiene oversights. I am deeply disappointed by the unprofessionalism and lack of customer care at AlSultan. I caution others to reconsider their dining choices here due to subpar food quality and poor service.

Third night this week Me and my partner have ordered in the full grilled chicken with rice, bread and salad. It's always reliably delicious and amazing value for money. Need to actually try something else on the menu next time!

What can I say... Myself and my partner were attending a concert at the nearby O2 academy in Glasgow and needed somewhere quick to grab a bite to eat. We entered this restaurant with little expectations, but we're soon impressed. The cleanliness of the restaurant was second to none, from the dining area to the bathrooms it was spotless. My partner ordered chicken tikka kebab and I ordered a chicken korma and a garlic naan bread. The portion sizes were fantastic, food extremely fresh and enjoyable. When the bill arrived we were absolutely shocked at how cheap it was, two main courses and two soft drinks for £25. Absolutely unbelievable. **Do not be put off by the building site that's happening outside, it's out with the restaurants control. The owner was explaining the situation to me and I felt sorry for him because it will without a doubt take away from his custom, do not let this deter your visit this is a place that is absolutely worth your time.** We will be returning here in the very near future.

Last night I went to a concert in the O2 and came across this little empire. We went in for a meal and they did not disappoint! The food portions were fantastic I couldn't eat it all as I was full. The food was beautiful and all very fresh. The staff where fantastic and not came to the table on the right about of times and not over bearing when having your meal. This is one of the best meals out I have had in a while. Very reasonably priced as well. I will defo be returning very soon with the whole family as I know it will be a hit!

The food from Al-Sultan is heaven. I absolutely loved everything I ordered it is super delicious and it is as good as the food you make at home there’s no doubt about that. The prices are affordable compared to other restaurants and the price is worth the food you receive. I highly recommend this place it is amazing you must try the food there, taste the actual flavour of traditional Middle Eastern foods is amazing. Love it

I had a great meal here, but ordered too much food. The portion sizes are big! I had mixed shawarma, some bread, hummus and a salad. Add the rice and bread that comes with the swarma too and I was not going to finish! The menu is kinda confusing with menu items from the middle east and India and then burgers n pizza too. (Feels a bit like a takeaway with a dining room) I'll be back.

An absolute gem in Glasgow just south of the City centre - walking distance. Please try the lamb Qozi, you will not be disappointed. An exquisite dish served with soup and Bamya (okra) stew, rice and naan. My wife and children love the place too. Usually there is spa e and the staff do their best to serve as quick as possible. P.s try the Arabic tea with cardamon and sugar 😋

At an iftar event held during Ramadan, despite the number of attendees being specified a day in advance, the service was very weak and negligent. Unfortunately, the organizers themselves had to assist with the service. There were no dates and water at our table to break our fast. They were brought some time after the iftar time. However, the lamb mince kebab, baklava, and ayran were good.

Service almost zero! I do not suggest to eat Shawarma! Atmosphere is not good because no window and the air is so poluted in the restaurant.

We went to iftar as a group during Ramadan. We had determined the menu in advance. But what was on the menu was not the same for everyone. Some had salad on their plates, some did not. The tables were not fully prepared before iftar time. The taste of the food was not bad, but the lamb smelled a bit. The service was not very good. Friends who went to dinner also helped the waiters. The employees were polite, but unfortunately it is not a suitable place for crowded organizations.

Food was all very dry, my kids ordered the cheese pastry and keema pastry, they got a vegetable spring roll and a vegetable ready made samosa. Would not come back, wanted to order baklawa but after the experience with the food, we just left anything else. Only one person serving.

We had a full tray of mix kebabs and rice 2 different kinds) for 5 people and a lot more. It was very good quality. Fresh and warm. Don't forget the black Syrian style tea at the end. The service was very good. There was a birthday party going on at the bottom of the hall that made the atmosphere a bit more noisy. Overall worth to give it a try. I recommend 👌

Extremely overhyped. Ordered full roast/grilled chicken, tasted so bland. Ordered lamb shawarma which was good but not something I'd return for. Also fried crispy chicken which I assumed would be like Al Baik but it was horrendously dry. Also got hummus with nan to start with which was okay. Spent roughly £35 so that's the only plus, I felt food was reasonably priced.

Food is clean and tastes nice. Place is cosy with nice Arabic songs. Service was really quick and people were polite. Dishes aren’t quite accurate. Instead of presenting a traditional local dish they mushed it up from other dishes. For example, Iraqi kabab can with Iraqi naan AND Lebanese naan under the kabab. It would make sense if you stick to the typical cuisine.

The food wasn't bad. But I won't say it was great. The staff was really helpful. The atmosphere was amazing.

We went for dinner today but unfortunately we ordered the platers for 4 people but been told after 15 minutes no kebab are left over. So we continue our order with kebab but on end we been chargers full amount not deducted. Customer service is 1/5 lady don’t understand we want or what we said. Food was ok but not good as need to.

Nice authentic feeling middle eastern restaurant. We were the only white Scottish people in the restaurant but felt welcome. Good range of food options but be aware they don't serve alcohol for obvious reasons.

Aye no bad for a quick lunch , nothing fancy in fact a bit rough round the edges which suited fine since i had unruly fussy kids with me , the food is OK if you keep it to the middle eastern stuff and grilled choices, but again nothing outstanding. Friendly service, fairly cheap. the bogs were surprisingly clean and good order which is a definite bonus. Take heed though..... I foolishly ordered a curry from the 'indian' section , a move i regret , an utter travesty . i think they are trying to approximate the 'scottish style indian takeaway' curry , unless they thought they were doing me a favour as a white guy ? . An Asian would have been horrified at the vile ketchup abomination i got ! critique was given but i think it went in one ear and oot the other. Anyway they do what they do perhaps playing to the home delivery market. Stick to shawarma etc you will be grand. if you want desi grub go elsewhere like the fabulous Namak Mandi just up the road. next time im going there, minus the bairns!

Ordered x4 pizzas and x2 wraps and I must say that each was consistently delicious. Will return for a 2nd try to make sure the consistency carries between orders but I'm happy to give it a 5 star based off the food I received. Often the problem with Pizzas is that they're too mozzarella heavy and greasy or they use a mozzarella substitute which doesnt taste right or they use some premade dough base whereas here the mozzarella was geniuine and in portion big enough so each slice had that stringyness to it but wasn't greasy at all and the dough looked like it was freshly made. Portions of chicken were also good and the taste was enchanting. Very much recommend and will happily try again!

It was soggy and overly spiced, with ingredients such as garam masala and English vegetables that felt out of place. It seemed more like an instant preparation rather than a carefully cooked biryani. However, one standout element of our dining experience was the Arabic tea. It was a truly wonderful experience, both in taste and presentation. The flavors were rich and satisfying, and the way it was served added an extra touch of impressiveness. Overall, dining at Al Sultan provided a refreshing break from bland food and offered a unique experience. While the biryani may not have met my expectations, the exceptional service and the delightful Arabic tea made up for it.
