La cena fue muy agradable, por lo general no tenía pastel de pescado, pero los dos lo comimos y lo disfrutamos. Los platos principales era snitzel de cerdo que también era encantador. El desayuno era de estilo buffet y muy agradable también.

On a sunny day we were able to sit in the garden for our lunch. You order and pay for your food at the bar and the orders are quickly broight to the table. We enjoyed both meals and look forward to visiting again.

I have paid £50 for our annual St George's Day Lunch. Never again!! 4 servers serving 150 diners. Lovely roast beef served with 'German' mustard!! Ran out of Horseradish sauce & asked for that & English (remember this is St George's Day!) but neither came!! Eventually spoke to the duty manager - a play on words for 'wet behind the ear'! The chef planned the menu with German mustard she tells me. I say, I like it with 'Bratwurst mit pommes mit mayo'. But this IS St George's Day, is he German. No she says - English! .... Priceless!!! Still no horseradish either!🍢 Hope we are not here next year!!! 🙏🏻😩

While the serving staff are friendly and polite (when they appear) there seems to be a 'standard delay' thereafter following making a food choice. Judged on two separate evening dinners, with only one other table (of two persons) occupied, it was a full thirty minutes between ordering and receipt of the starter. The menu is not an exciting one and for longer stayers in the hotel the better alternative is surely to eat outside at another restaurant.

We had bar meals here and various cocktails. The bar meals we had were delicious home made soups with crusty breads and club sandwiches with a variety of fillings. The seats were quite comfortable and there was also a choice to seat on a sofa with a lower table. Service is excellent and I had the best cocktails I have ever tasted.

very poor service, waited half hour between each course and had to keep asking and asking when food would be out, eventually had to ask for our pudding to be had back in our rooms as we had children to settle, and an hour and half with fractious hungry little ones is not ideal for that length of time.

This hotel is really curious. There is quite a turnover of staff. Whilst they are there, they are very friendly and customer orientated. But they don't seem to last, which is a shame.Parts of the hotel are smart, but most of it is very run-down. The front automatic sliding doors never seem to work properly, the decor is very tired. Some of the carpets look like they've been down since the place was built in the Victorian era.The main restaurant gets extremely hot in the summer - there is air conditioning present, but it either doesn't work, or can't cope. The chairs in the restaurant are all stained and horrible. But, they have function rooms which again are very tired, but they are a good size. We had a family occasion in one of these. We couldn't fault anything. From the planning stages right up to the day. A phone call the day before from the hotel to check everything was OK, and to double-check and confirm requirements. The food we ordered was just superb. Fresh, home-made and delicious. And plenty of it. Represented very good value for money. Every detail of our requirement was attended to.At the end, there was still a lot of food left over. Boxes were brought out without us even having to ask so we could take the excess home!If you need a conference room, or room for a family event, then you can't go far wrong.

Booked in to hotel for 3 nights and have tried the hotel brasserie and bar for the last 2 nights. The hotel website boasts about "Our menu blends British and European classics – from beer-battered fish and homemade pie of the day to arancini, bouillabaisse and Belgian waffle sundaes – with spicy favourites from further afield including Goan prawn curry and slow cooked Moroccan style lamb" however other than the Moroccan style lamb and beer-battered fish, none of the other specialities are featured on the bar or brasserie menu. I would describe the menu as expensive and limited. Tonight I had the beer-battered fish with chips and mushy peas at £13:50. When finally served, the fish was at best 8" long and less than a dozen steak style chips. Not great value in my eyes. In order to appease my hunger I needed a dessert and at £5:75 I choose an Eton Mess which duly arrived of similarly poor proportions. With two fairly simply dishes and bearing in mind the cost, I would have expected a well delivered dish. Again I was disappointed, the mushy peas accompanying the fish were stone cold below the surface and the Eton Mess was completely devoid of any meringue. With regards to service, this was equally disappointing. Food took 45 minutes to arrive and was delivered without any care. The question about whether we required any sauces etc seemed to be a reluctant question which was uncomfortable as the table lacked even basic salt and pepper. When returning cold food, there was no acknowledgement or apology and took several minutes. Dessert took nearly 15 minutes to retrieve from the fridge and the accompanying spoon was in desperate need of a clean. When dishes were collected there was no conversation or customary question around how our meal was. The waiting staff were clearly stretched with only 3 staff visible. A hotel has a captive audience with its guests and I rarely dine elsewhere when staying in hotels, but it seems that in this particular hotel, they are taking advantage of there guests. I will be making the effort tomorrow to go out for dinner. Come on Hallmark hotels, raise you game.

The tired old three-star Durley Hall hotel has been given a facelift and reincarnated as the upmarket four-star Hallmark. So I suppose we should not have been surprised at the outrageous wine prices. But we were definitely entitled to be amazed at the time it took to get through a three-course dinner … over two and a half hours. The Brasserie is a fairly recent addition to the hotel: the interior is spacious and the décor is tastefully minimalist. But the recessed overhead spotlighting, typically found in bathrooms, is unflattering and creates no atmosphere. In France, a brasserie is not the same as a bistro, and we would have expected a tablecloth on our wooden table. The combination of tasteful wood panelling and dressing the hotel staff all in black reminded us of a funeral parlour. That said, the food, when it eventually arrived, was excellent, being both plentiful and beautifully cooked and presented. There was rather too much salt in the creamy sauce and an over-enthusiastic use of capers, but overall we were impressed. The waiting staff were charming and did their best to compensate for the backstage delays, at one point even sending a manager to apologise. But the Brasserie has only about thirty covers, was only half full when we arrived, and emptied steadily after that, so there was seemingly no excuse for the tardy service. Surely it can’t take over half an hour to put some smoked salmon on a plate and butter some bread, can it? If we come again, which seems unlikely, we’ll bring our sleeping bags, a good book, and a flask of coffee.

Thought I'd give the Hallmark restaurant a try after a conference ended at 930pm, I was really pleased to hear food was still being served.I went for a Caesar salad which was absolutely not worth the £11 price tag or the very long wait. It was essentially a bowl of iceberg lettuce with 5 pieces of chicken and some awful anchovies. Equally my boyfriend thought his club sandwich was 'mediocre at best'.I wouldn't return here for food, would maybe come back for a coffee one day. Decor is okay, perhaps a little dated.

My elderly mother and I have been reminiscing about the past summer and the lovely places we visited. One in particular sticks out in both our minds and that was an amazing Cream Tea we enjoyed at The Hallmark, Bournemouth. It epitomised the traditional English Cream Tea! The service matched the quality of the food and nothing was too much trouble. The attentive lady in charge noticed my mother was feeling a chill in the air, offered us another delightful table inside and, without a moment's hesitation, moved the entire meal inside for our comfort! We feasted on platefuls of delicate, tasty sandwiches, fluffy and light scones with lashings of clotted cream and fruity jam, followed by freshly made cakes and biscuits all washed down with the tea of our choice (from a wide selection). The atmosphere was relaxing, friendly and meticulously fresh and clean. Thank you to all the catering, waitress and domicilary staff who made the experience so memorable! We will certainly include another visit on next year's itinerary!

My wife and I visited for afternoon tea on August 1st. First point to note is that there is virtually no on-site parking so you have to take your chances in the side streets. If you want to save some time - don't bother to read the rest of the view and just avoid this hotel like the plague! When we went into the hotel there was a long queue of people at reception and we had difficulty finding anyone to ask about where the afternoon tea was served. In the end I went to the bar and were told that's where it's served. We were promptly supplied with Pots of Earl Grey and mint tea along with large coffee mugs for our drinks! The food arrived after about 15 minutes and comprised the usual multi-tier cake stand with sandwiches at the bottom plus a couple of cheese scones. The middle layer had fruit scones along with cream and strawberry jam. The top layer had a couple more scones and some stodgy cakes. The sandwiches used ordinary brown and white bread (slightly dry) and the cucumber sandwiches were particularly poor with just cucumber, no butter and dry bread! The cheese scones were also dry and supplied with no butter and had just the faintest tinge of cheese. If they hadn't said they were cheese I'd never have guessed!Moving on to the sweet scones, these were hopelessly dry and mine broke into about five pieces when I tried to cut it. The cream and strawberry jam was ok.We only tried one of the cakes which was uninteresting and stodgy. Needles to say we didn't ask for the cakes to be boxed up.Best part of the visit was getting back home for a decent cuppa. I'm afraid this hotel hasn't the faintest idea of how to serve a traditional English afternoon tea. It should be held in pleasant surroundings with high quality delicate sandwiches and pastries and attentive service. Other than plonking the sandwiches on the table we didn't receive any other attention from the staff.

This year myself and the family decided to go out of our comfort zone and try something new, it was defiantly the worst decision made. Christmas lunch cost £59.50ph which I thought was fairly reasonable but at this price I did have high expectations. The number of staff was appalling, 4 members of staff to cater for about 15 tables the starter was satisfactory but the main was dreadful I had three roast potatoes which were not roasted they were uncooked inside the other tables had whole sausages wrapped in bacon but as it took so long for us to be served we had the ends of a sausage obviously where food was running low one small dish of veg between 5 people it was not appetising to look at very small portion and very basic. I then found a hair in my food an after telling a waitress it toons 20 minutes for the manager to come and have a look I would therefor never recommend anyone to eat here for Christmas Day lunch it cost us £297.50 an between all of us the amont go food we had was the equivalent to one plate of food from the cavery which would of cost £10 and would of been of a better quality!!!

I had anticipated a traditional tea(that was depicted on the voucher). We were served with a slate platter with a selection of sandwiches and a scone each and a couple of pieces of what appeared to be shop bought cake. We really didn't enjoy the food unfortunately. There were swimming lessons going on in the pool that we were overlooking- therefore mums and dads sitting waiting for their children with other children running around. Lunch was included, we selected which sandwich we wanted in the morning (so giving them plenty of time to get the ingredients). The waitress talked to us as if we were stupid, and was very rude. When the sandwich arrived, my 'prawn' sandwich was basically 2 slices of bread from a cheap loaf, full of seafood sauce, so much that I couldn't pick it up to eat it as it overflowed, and about 5 small prawns hidden in the sauce. the 'fries' that we'd ordered arrived after we asked where they were, and were soggy, floppy oil soaked bits of cooked potato. No desserts to speak of, which we really fancied. Just terrible food and service. Will definitely not be going back, shame as the spa day would've been lovely otherwise.

We ha prawn cocktail and warm duck salad to start, followed by braised beef and slow cooked leg of lamb and to finish selection of ice cream and cheese and biscuits. We finished off with the best liqueur coffee I have ever had whilst relaxing in the loung chairs in the bar area.

As we booked a very well priced package, I did not expect great things from the restaurant. However, it was surprisingly good. Choices were varied and interesting, portions generous and quality very good indeed. Thank you!

Great although service slow at times. We felt the problem was more eminating from the kitchen than the floor staff.

Good selection on the menu. The only thing that annoyed me was having to pay extra for vegetables.

The waitress who served us was very accommodating and very apologetic that my meal was not up to standard. I think there are just a few things that need to rectifying to transform the food from average to very good. Also better facilities for keeping the breakfast warm/hot would greatly improve the whole half board experience.

Not that many really good Brasseries in Bournemouth - this is one - thoroughly rccommend it. Very good wine list too.

I had food from both the dinner and bar menu during my stay. Food was very tasty and good portions; excellent meat-ball linguine and the club sandwich was very substantial even for a big eater!

Staff were really friendly and the food was good, however after a certain amount of time eating there as part of the package with the hotel, food choice becomes limited! Sometimes a real lack of atmosphere within the restaurant, and the decor is certainly an acquired taste (not mine.)

Without doubt the best food I have ever eaten in a "hotel" restaurant and I am still trying to think of nicer restaurant food. Main courses of ham hock with mash and fish & chips were delightful. I had fish and chips, with every mouthful to die for and luckily my wife could not manage to finish the ham! The amount and quality of meat with the ham was superb. Without doubt you have to try this restaurant especially if you are staying at the hotel.

Lots of out of stock items at 7:15! Cocktails are fab. The cocktail waiter went to some trouble. Food not so much. Had a lovely waiter. Food a bit disappointing.

Just don’t get the strip platter and the medium sauce, we got home with our takeaway and everyone agreed that it smelt like vomit. I thought I’d brave it and it might just be the smell but no, the aftertaste was also that of vomit. I don’t know if the sauce was off or the chicken was off or if the workers have a broken sense of smell but overall just a super off putting meal and really not worth the money, ended up chucking all the chicken away and enjoying some under seasoned chips

Staff here were great and friendly, no issues with the service here . Resteraunt was clean. However , I used to visit nandos every week and have not been for a while. After visit today it explains why. Compared to what it used to be, the portions are now absolutely rubbish . Some of the "thighs" were more like small chunks of chicken, the corn on the cob was soggy and tasted like it had just come out the freezer. If you want to put prices up- fine, but dont make the food a lot worse and make me pay more !! . I won't rush to return .
