A very tranquil trout fishery where took a very relaxing stroll around the lakes and saw many trout flip themselves out of the water. This is a very nice spot to come to and have a nice, relaxing, contemplative drink or some food next to the lakes, while enjoying the sheer beauty of nature that surrounds the restaurant. We also saw an amazing herron which flew over the lake and a number of super young ducklings. The lady told us that the fishery is a catch and release. The size of trout in there is substantial, but I am guessing that anything above 8lb will be a massive catch and a rarity in there.

Great food, great service and also a great venue to book for any event, happy or sad.

Attended a wedding reception at the end of August. Location is lovely but the food was atrocious. Two absolutely awful buffets were served to guests with the lowest quality food I have ever tasted. Pringles served with tinned olives on the tables and soggy appetisers on sliced bread. Buffet was sandwiches, and other cheap beige food. Apparently this was not what had been ordered but i wouldn’t have served this food to my dog. Also rude aggressive manager shouting at children who were just being children and running about. Beware if you are thinking about a wedding here, they may just not provide the menus you have paid for!

Venue for my father-in-law's wake. Staff were excellent, and excellent location for the event.

Beautiful place. Quiet, hidden, good food and so peaceful. Also a lovely place to have a celebration, be it wedding, Baptism, engagement, etc.

My wife woke up and decided we should go out for Sunday lunch so I googled “riverside restaurants near me” and got the best ever recommendation in The Halliford Mere Lakes. What a find. Fantastic customer service and superb food in a wonderful setting. Currently working off a reduced menu to enable chef to produce top quality dishes given the restrictions on supplies caused by the market and the heat. Clever use of the best ingredients available and enough choice to satisfy the most critical palate. We even managed a beautiful walk through the trout lakes before desert and delicious decaf filter coffee. Lots of extra brownie points for my choice of venue at short notice. We WILL be back!

What a beautiful setting for a lovely meal. The staff were very attentive and made sure we had a lovely time. The food was delicious. We will definitely be going back again and will be recommending it to all of our friends.

Was very disappointed in our lunch. The calamari was chewy and the crab was tasteless. Then our mains (mahi mahi) 2 out of the 3 were very tough and chewy. We let our server know and there was no acknowledgment from the mgmt and considering it’s an expensive restaurant I find this appalling to not discount one of the mains.

Lovely restaurant, beer and fishing

I've fished here a number of times, lovely setting. The owner is a top bloke too, very friendly and his advice always lends itself to a successful day's fishing. As the fishery is spread over four lakes, which you can freely roam around if fly fishing, even when it's relatively busy you have a lot of privacy and solitude.

Had our wedding reception at Halliford Mere and it was just perfect! The food was amazing from Franco and Bill and Lynn were amazing at getting the restaurant decorated just as I wanted. I could not be happier and cannot recommend enough! Thank you all so much! It was an absolute pleasure and we will be back for dinner for sure! X

Lovely venue for local summer gatherings. Anytime if the weather is ok. Cab be indoors. Have done one wedding and a funeral here. Now arranging our 50th wedding anniversary. Good fishing in the lakes and relaxed atmosphere with lots of room inside and out for events depending on the weather, up to 80 people or so indoors. We now hope it will be good for us. No venue charge, profit comes from food and drink so there is minimum number.

We had an intimate wedding reception here yesterday. The location and ambiance was perfect. Great views of the lakes and great food. The service was perfect well within the covid measures. Tranquil setting aside the lake, you feel as though you could be in the middle of the countryside. Lovely food but unfortunately child portions.

Difficult to give a star rating says open at 12 on website. Notice on gates closed due to Lockdown. Shame would have been a pleasant walk with a takeaway coffee perfect.

Very good food, good service, wine very reasonable, very nice surroubdings, especially good on a nice sunny day, lots of outside sesting next to the lake.

My son fished here from 8.10 am until 4.pm caught a small trout around 1.5 lb and foul hooked another. No other knocks, now my boy can fish , to end up with with a result like that means the lake is seriously understocked and the fish are suffering because there is pike in the lake. 4 other rods there with no takes. Lack of oxygen in lake .

We saw numerous colourful, hovering, mating dragonflies as well as the plentiful water boatmen swimming across the lake by the restaurant. It was an easy stroll around the lake but a footpath could be installed to avoid treading on the many instances of dog manure spotted on the grass.

How have we never been here before?? What a stunning location, with lovely staff and wonderful food. We pre-ordered a lobster thermidor, as a special treat for my son to celebrate him achieving his degree... And he confirmed (after a long period of mouthwatering silence) it was delicious!! We also had giant prawns and a dressed crab.. plus some non fish dishes for my non fish loving husband!! We had a fabulous evening and we will return!!

This is a great Mediterranean restaurant. There was 7 of us and between us we tried a variety of dishes. We all really enjoyed our food. The restaurant is located within lovely lawns next to a lake. There is also seating outside below a large gazebo, so great on sunny evenings too. Tonight was a too cold to eat outside, but the ambiance is rustic and homely, so with the wood burner going it would be great on cold winter evenings also. Great for fish lovers and my son enjoyed his fillet steak. Yum! 😋

When I pulled into the car park up a steep ramp, swung round and saw what I assumed was just a small tackle shop on the edge of a fishing lake in Chertsey, I must admit I was quite apprehensive about my pre-booked family dinner for 28(ish). My apprehension deepened when I walked into the small bar and saw a dual cassette tape deck, old school PA system and amplifier setup straight out of the early 90's behind the bar. I need not have worried, the place was amazing, the staff were incredibly accommodating to my entire family and the food was consistently good across all 28 meals. My Italian family are not the easiest to please, fiery and passionate they love their food and they love their food cooked well. The table was situated in a lovely summer veranda room, not to hot, not to cold, well lit and situated with a stunning view of the lazy, picturesque fishing lake and all it's wildlife. The staff were happy, reasonably attentive and patient. they dealt with all requests from our table with professionalism and kept everyone happy. The owner/manager personally greeted us through the door and said goodbye when we left, this was a very nice touch and made everyone feel welcome and settled. A three course meal with drinks and coffee came to around £35 a head. This seemed very fair to me. If i'm ever in the area again I would definitely revisit, if only to check if the have upgraded the entertainment system yet!

Fabulous location and staff. We've watched this place grow over the years from a lovely fishing club to a 1st class restaurant with a great view of the fishing!

I fished here many years ago and even had my wedding morning here wetting a line before getting married. I grew up in Shepperton and have memories of driving motorbikes and go carts round those lakes. Today we held my mother's wake there. The owner was charming professional and sympathetic . The atmosphere was perfect for our guests. We will return and try the restaurant which I'm told is excellent. Thank you so much.

Have just looked at the reviews for Halford mere cannot believe several of the comments made 500 pounds to fish is incorrect !!! it is 480 pounds for annual season ticket allowing 365 days fishing with unlimited catch and release ,on a day Ticket it is as little as 15 for a 5 hour ticket or 20 pounds for a full day (unbeatable value)in my opinion ,Albury although a fine fishery you will find is far more expensive and limited to the amount of fish you can catch ,as for the restaurant have dined here over the past 6 years found to be very reasonably priced considering food is freshly prepared and not bought in and heated. Have recommended to friends and business colleagues and have only had very positive reviews Keep Up The Good work

Unfortunately arrived too late for Sunday lunch, last orders 14.20. Can recommend as a beautiful location to spend some time and they have Stowford Press cider so I was very happy.

The food wasn't bad, staff are friendly but the views are awesome. Would like to go back on on a sunny day. Book in advance

Nice, but so much more could be done here

Lovely location but food was a disaster. Chef obviously had no idea about combining fish flavours, making a roulade of lemon sole, smoked salmon and prawns. Extremely overpriced and they could have invested some of the money they make on proper stools, not cheap, wobbly plastic garden chairs. Would not recommend eating here and I will certainly not be returning.

Lovely restaurant and the atmosphere is beautiful. Would recommend to many people and the food was great.

Ate again on Friday night. Amongst the best fish restaurants I've been to. Relaxed friendly atmosphere. Francesco is a fantastic chef will be returning soon.
