Really nice place to eat. Great service, tasty food, I had a nourish bowl and a sticky toffee pudding. It was very tasty, prompt service. I brought my dog with me and the lassies couldn't have been more lovely to her, bringing a bowl of water and even a dog menu! Would highly recommend. Thanks Charlotte C for taking care of us.

A garçonete mal humorada falou que o segundo andar não estava aberto, apesar de terem pessoas subindo, depois ela falou que não estavam servindo comida sendo que 1 minuto depois ela estava anotando pedido de comida na mesa ao lado...! As bebidas são ok, mas o péssimo atendimento não compensa.

Large, modern pub tucked away on the edge of Bath city centre. The food (I had steak) was pretty good and they have a decent selection of beers.

First time for us visiting here…..it’s a fantastic building with a great atmosphere. The staff were great and the service timely. It was a little frustrating that a couple of our menu choices weren’t available, but I just found the food we did have wasn’t as good I was expecting. It wasn’t overly hot, portions a little on the small side and mine had sat under the heat lamp a little too long.

staffs attitudes were disgusting , food was cold and wasn’t nice, three drinks forgotton 3 separate times no apology and when we tried to ask for a diet coke (that we payed for) a woman seemingly the manager was boarderline aggressive and asking for the size of the drink in a rude tone making us all feel uncomfortable and hesitate to give us the drinks we payed for. the waiter was awful at his job he didn’t know where any of the food was going and was extremely unwelcoming from the get go along with all the other rude staff who obviously didn’t want to be working, 100% will not recommend don’t bother visiting

Honestly £14.25 for a single g&t and a no alcohol cider is just a shame.

We’ve always loved H&W - one of our favourite spots in Bath. Clean, cosy, great selection of draft beer and local ale. Lovely spots to sit and have a drink. Staff friendly and polite - highly recommend!

Overcooked food, dried out Yorkshire puddings, overcooked halloumi in the salad, unrecognisable as halloumi. Toilets bit grubby. Expected a lot more but seems a lot of other reviews are correct. I always go in with an open mind but this visit was disappointing

Popped in for a cup of tea and a soft drink on our way out of bath centre. No idea about the food but the restaurant was very spacious, comfortable and welcoming. Bar and service staff were very good and plenty of space for a buggy. A few steps to the front but the disabled lift functioned very well.

Didn’t think much great looking restaurant unfortunately the staff were terrible and the food was cold and stale. Very expensive for what you get with tiny portions and high prices. Won’t go back.

Great place, accepts dogs, good food. Would have given 5 stars for food as well but some of it came out warm and not hot. Staff had it sorted with in 10 minutes. Beware there are steps into this venue, This is our third visit here and on our last visit and this visit the wheel chair lift was out of action. Wheelchair users or those less abled people like my wife may struggle.

Servers were amazing considering it was packed and had to run up and down the stairs. However for the price the food was just a let down, the sides were obviously frozen and were undercooked and bland, the gravy was runny and tasteless. The portions of meat were oddly unbalanced, one person who ordered the beef roast had half as much as someone else. But the building is lovely and i’ll definitely be coming back in the summer for drinks on the terrace.

This is eighteen quids worth of food if you are a coeliac veggie!!! They did latterly bring me fries after I said something. The service and staff were pretty good but really someone needs to look at either pricing or portions or both.

AVOID THIS PLACE !!! For my birthday my 80 year old mother traveled from Shropshire to Bath to treat me to a Sunday roast. Me and my mother had beef and my nephew had pork, I was surprised how quick we got our food but very disappointed that all 3 meals were cold and it was taken back to the kitchen, 5/10 minutes later the waitress brought the food back on very hot plates but all 3 meals were still cold. I can only assume that they put 3 plates in the oven for a minute or so and placed the food back on the plate. I was not happy at all and wanted to complain but was asked not to by my mother, so when the waiter asked if everything was OK, my mother politely said it was cold and we were given a £15 discount off an £80 bill, which covered our drinks. Personally I would of insisted for a full discount, except the drinks. Thanks for nothing Hall and Woodhouse. Minus 5 stars

Five adults and three children made the mistake of having lunch here on a busy Boxing Day. The food was poor. Most of it was barely warm. Chicken skewers were dry and chewy. The chicken wrap was worse and we asked for it be replaced by a burger. No steak and frites or H&W burger available. We weren’t expecting fine dining and this place lived down to our expectations. Good place for a drink especially when the roof terrace is open but as a food venue it is struggling to provide anything other than over priced poor food.

Something of a hidden-gem this place as whilst it’s quite a large venue it’s a bit tucked away. We were looking for somewhere to have a nice lunch to finish of a great “Christmassy” weekend away in Bath and so settled for this place. My wife ordered Roast Beef, whilst I went for the Pork Loin dish which comes with mash on the menu, plus a few sides/extras. The mushroom starter is a lovely dish to get going with, great to share we found. The Halloumi Fries were okay, a bit overcooked unfortunately but the dip worked well. The roast Beef was very nice, moist and full of flavour. The Yorkshire puddings were overcooked sadly. In regards to my Pork Loin dish it served as a sort of hybrid as it didn’t come with mash as advertised but instead Roast potatoes. Erin provided us with great service going above and beyond in my opinion, not often you find that these days. Toilets were found to be clean and generally in good condition aside from a broken tap in the gents. I would have happily given this place a 5-Star review if the food hadn’t been overcooked and served correctly, sadly I have to mark it down as I would have expected better.

Booked a table same-day through Google and received a confirmation email. Showed up a few hours later and were told our reservation was cancelled because the reservation system doesn’t account for availability of tables (???). Actually received a cancellation email 12 minutes after the time we had booked. 2 stars because the staff were very kind and apologetic, but ultimately we had to figure out somewhere else to go last minute. The problem with the reservation system needs to be fixed.

Our Christmas lunch at another venue was cancelled and these guys fitted us in. Food was fairly good and I really enjoyed the Chicken Wings starter. Beer was nice and the staff were very good. Surroundings were very pleasant even though it was very busy.

Been here twice with a large and a small group. They were amazing both times. Food is good. Had fish and chips and fish pie. Both were good, fish pie was my favorite.

A fantastic Sunday lunch with friends was had by all of us. The service was really friendly. The attention to allergies and tolerance was caring, and the kids loved their food. All parents know that is a battle won and a huge tick box.

Decent decor, staff was friendly, good space between tables. Burger was ok, the best was Triple cooked chips crunchy freshly cooked, and the small cup of caramelised onion served on Charcuterie was tasty; the club sandwich was like my son’s own packed lunch not worth it. The table surface was a bit sticky and toilets were dirty although it was still morning before noontime. Some reason, we were very thirsty after the food.

Had a table reserved. Enjoyed our main course, although I would have preferred my burger to be on a plate rather than a wooden board. Service quick. However they were quick to move us on after we finished our main course even though we had booked our table. We felt pushed out!

This is a lovely place to visit. The interior is great and there were lots of real Xmas trees and decorations. The food was ok. I was expecting slightly better for the prices they charge. However the friendly service and atmosphere make it a good place to go. My husband had the chicken with nduja butter and it was a really small bit of chicken. It tasted nice but wasn't enough. I had the chicken schnitzel which was lovely. The starters were small but nice. The banana waffle my husband had for pudding was very good.

Mediocre was the word of the day. We had the Sunday Roast (beef) lunch. Nothing was offensive, but nothing stood out and we were overall disappointed. Would not recommend unless you want a nice looking place to sit and have drinks. The beef was dry and overcooked - later when we walked past the kitchen we saw that all the meat is pre-carved and sitting on the warmers. Which means that if you're lucky to get the top of the plate, it's nice and juicy, but if you're unlucky like the 4 of us, you get the dry overcooked ones at the bottom of the plate. The gravy was nice but so little was given that the dry beef remained dry and we had no gravy to eat the yorkshire puddings with. Portions in general were just ok for the price. While not rude, the service wasn't amazing either. Warm apple pie with custard was just ok. While nice, nothing to write home about.

Met with a couple of friends for lunch today, I ordered the fish finger sandwich. What came out looked like the fish fingers you used to get at school looking very sorry for themselves lost it twice as much bread to fish. No tomato or tartare sauce ( as advertised ). Very unimpressed with this meager offering, definitely not worth £11.25!

Overall an ok visit, staff were friendly but not very attentive, we had to chase for menus, to order, for more drinks, for the bill and then for a card reader. We weren’t offered desserts or anything else when the table was cleared. Food tasted nice however portions are definitely on the small side for the prices charged. I wouldn’t necessarily rush back! We felt as though we were sat and then left too it until we flagged someone down for anything.

This was a family treat, having surprised our son, by bringing our dog for a visit & catching up after he started Bath uni in September. After searching for a dog friendly pub / restaurant on the internet, we couldn’t have chosen any better. Great food, great service, friendly staff, but the bonus was how our 3yr old lab was treated. A fantastic night.

Only minor things I’d say is that there weren’t adequate vegetables, I only had 3 half potatoes and 2 tiny parsnips (which are my favourite), I wanted to order some cauliflower cheese to go with my roast beef but it was an extra £5.25 (!!) that’s a ‘rip off’ I’m afraid…such a shame as that would’ve just topped off my meal perfectly. Anyway had a lovely time with my family.

Lovely looking restaurant let down by the food. We visited on 28th Oct and picked this place based on it's location and several good reviews. The restaurant itself is a nice, modern environment with lots of different seating areas. The food was a let down. My steak frites was so tough it was inedible and while I don't expect this particular cut to be high quality (flat iron steak) this was like shoe leather and I left more than half, which at £20 is not something I'd usually do. My daughters pizza was simply tomato puree and cheese, overcooked and dry - a bit like a kids home economics project. My wife had the pie which looked and tasted good. No point complaining as the staff gave the impression they don't want to be there. Of all the restaurants in Bath we could have picked, this was a disappointment on the day.

We booked a table because dogs are allowed, and on arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. The staff were friendly, the beers were great and the food was outstanding; our fish was restaurant standard.

Do not visit if you have allergies. You will be asked to sign your/your child's life away in the form of a handwritten waiver on a back of a receipt!!!!! It wasn't even a major allergy, more of an intolerance which makes you wonder their standard of food safety if they cannot guarantee cross contamination in their own kitchen. Food also has gone downhill massively since our last visit last year. Update: Mind you, we've already paid for food at that point before we were asked to sign the waiver.

When I called to book, I was bluntly told they could cater for people with allergies, that the people in my party would need to pick appropriate food from the menu!!! I didn't receive the booking confirmation, had to chase it up! Parking was very limited. At the meal, the food was very average, the service was slow & the staff looked well & truly fed up. One place I WON'T be returning to!!!

Family catch up with one of our daughters who is studying in Bath. Visited for Sunday lunch to be told on arrival they were off the menu (we had booked in advance), then 5 mins later they were back on. Ordered drinks and a bottle of tap water, the water never arrived. Sunday dinner was good however one of our party didn't fancy a roast and instead opted for a burger. When it arrived it had clearly been sitting for a while, as the plate was hot but the basket of chips barely warm. The bun for the burger was just a soggy mess on the bottom. Having called the server over an apology was offered with the assurance of a new fresh meal. I rrequested this time that tthe lettuce and pickles be left on the side of the plate. The meal was taken away and returned a short while later. The same pot of chips (not even barely warm now) and all they had done is scraped the sald off of the original burger, put the burger itself, together with now cold and congealed cheese in a new stale bun! (The evidence being the remnants of sauce on top in an otherwise sauce less bun) 1 mouthful was all i could manage. I now realise why at no stage did anyone ask if the meal was OK. As others have mentioned, the serving staff didn't seem interested all of which is a real shame as the place is really nice and we really expected a great experience.

We entered the premises to enjoy a traditional Sunday Roast whilst staying in Bath. The young lady serving behind the barsaid they were fully booked but if we would like to sit down at a reserved table as long as we left 10 minutes before the booking. We sat at a table which was reserved quite clearly for 2.30pm for Sally. THEN A VERY AGGRESSIVE, RUDE ABUSIVE OLDER WOMAN INSISTED WE COULD NOT SIT THERE AS IT WAS BOOKED FOR 2pm ! Which wasn't true. This was only just after 1pm. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER BEEN SPOKEN TO IN SUCH AN APPALLING WAY. AVOID AT All COST.

Best cocktails in town! Enormous Sunday roast- and one of the best I've had in a loooooong time. Good deserts too

Went on a busy Sunday afternoon. We sat down and it became obvious that the noise was too much for my Autistic child. Our waitress, Ruby, was lovely and said she would see if we could go to the upstairs section which was currently closed. The manager arrived and was amazing, not only did she take us upstairs but she sat us in a private dining room. Such amazing and understanding people. The food was amazing too.

Nice place, great decor and design and dog friendly! We all enjoyed the food which was good value for money.

Wine selection was reasonable, but the food was very mediocre, I ordered grilled nduja chicken that felt more like steamed chicken with some sauce, chips were just the average pub grade and there was a very small handful of salad too, but I wouldn't go back for dinner or lunch.
