This is a lovely place to visit. The interior is great and there were lots of real Xmas trees and decorations. The food was ok. I was expecting slightly better for the prices they charge. However the friendly service and atmosphere make it a good place to go. My husband had the chicken with nduja butter and it was a really small bit of chicken. It tasted nice but wasn't enough. I had the chicken schnitzel which was lovely. The starters were small but nice. The banana waffle my husband had for pudding was very good.

Mediocre was the word of the day. We had the Sunday Roast (beef) lunch. Nothing was offensive, but nothing stood out and we were overall disappointed. Would not recommend unless you want a nice looking place to sit and have drinks. The beef was dry and overcooked - later when we walked past the kitchen we saw that all the meat is pre-carved and sitting on the warmers. Which means that if you're lucky to get the top of the plate, it's nice and juicy, but if you're unlucky like the 4 of us, you get the dry overcooked ones at the bottom of the plate. The gravy was nice but so little was given that the dry beef remained dry and we had no gravy to eat the yorkshire puddings with. Portions in general were just ok for the price. While not rude, the service wasn't amazing either. Warm apple pie with custard was just ok. While nice, nothing to write home about.

Met with a couple of friends for lunch today, I ordered the fish finger sandwich. What came out looked like the fish fingers you used to get at school looking very sorry for themselves lost it twice as much bread to fish. No tomato or tartare sauce ( as advertised ). Very unimpressed with this meager offering, definitely not worth £11.25!

Overall an ok visit, staff were friendly but not very attentive, we had to chase for menus, to order, for more drinks, for the bill and then for a card reader. We weren’t offered desserts or anything else when the table was cleared. Food tasted nice however portions are definitely on the small side for the prices charged. I wouldn’t necessarily rush back! We felt as though we were sat and then left too it until we flagged someone down for anything.

This was a family treat, having surprised our son, by bringing our dog for a visit & catching up after he started Bath uni in September. After searching for a dog friendly pub / restaurant on the internet, we couldn’t have chosen any better. Great food, great service, friendly staff, but the bonus was how our 3yr old lab was treated. A fantastic night.

Had a delicious roast, friendly staff. Only minor things I’d say is that there weren’t adequate vegetables, I only had 3 half potatoes and 2 tiny parsnips (which are my favourite), I wanted to order some cauliflower cheese to go with my roast beef but it was an extra £5.25 (!!) that’s a ‘rip off’ I’m afraid…such a shame as that would’ve just topped off my meal perfectly. Anyway had a lovely time with my family.

Lovely looking restaurant let down by the food. We visited on 28th Oct and picked this place based on it's location and several good reviews. The restaurant itself is a nice, modern environment with lots of different seating areas. The food was a let down. My steak frites was so tough it was inedible and while I don't expect this particular cut to be high quality (flat iron steak) this was like shoe leather and I left more than half, which at £20 is not something I'd usually do. My daughters pizza was simply tomato puree and cheese, overcooked and dry - a bit like a kids home economics project. My wife had the pie which looked and tasted good. No point complaining as the staff gave the impression they don't want to be there. Of all the restaurants in Bath we could have picked, this was a disappointment on the day.

Do not visit if you have allergies. You will be asked to sign your/your child's life away in the form of a handwritten waiver on a back of a receipt!!!!! It wasn't even a major allergy, more of an intolerance which makes you wonder their standard of food safety if they cannot guarantee cross contamination in their own kitchen. Food also has gone downhill massively since our last visit last year. Update: Mind you, we've already paid for food at that point before we were asked to sign the waiver.

Family catch up with one of our daughters who is studying in Bath. Visited for Sunday lunch to be told on arrival they were off the menu (we had booked in advance), then 5 mins later they were back on. Ordered drinks and a bottle of tap water, the water never arrived. Sunday dinner was good however one of our party didn't fancy a roast and instead opted for a burger. When it arrived it had clearly been sitting for a while, as the plate was hot but the basket of chips barely warm. The bun for the burger was just a soggy mess on the bottom. Having called the server over an apology was offered with the assurance of a new fresh meal. I rrequested this time that tthe lettuce and pickles be left on the side of the plate. The meal was taken away and returned a short while later. The same pot of chips (not even barely warm now) and all they had done is scraped the sald off of the original burger, put the burger itself, together with now cold and congealed cheese in a new stale bun! (The evidence being the remnants of sauce on top in an otherwise sauce less bun) 1 mouthful was all i could manage. I now realise why at no stage did anyone ask if the meal was OK. As others have mentioned, the serving staff didn't seem interested all of which is a real shame as the place is really nice and we really expected a great experience.

We entered the pub, looked very nice but was soon to be disappointed! We wanted to sit in the roof terrace but there were no signs to say if you order downstairs and take your drink with you or there is a bar upstairs. The member of staff I asked said she didn't know! I asked another member of staff and they said order here ....I ordered our drinks, they were out of Outland Tropical and sparkling water. I carried our drinks upstairs, to the terrace, the floor and table were filthy and sticky.....also the seagulls which I know you can't avoid but it would help if there was a member of staff on the terrace permanently clearing the tables as soon as the customers left...loads of empty plates and dishes encouraging the gulls! Lots of complaining customers mainly saying they had their food but not their cutlery! I'm in hospitality and rule one before the food goes out, make sure the customers have their cutlery!

Had a family meal for four here today. Atmosphere was nice, looked great. Very disappointed with the food which cost me 85 pounds for four. I had a satay burger. the chicken was a tiny portion no where near even half a chicken breast. On top of this it was dry and tasteless. And the satay for this was a small spoonful of satay sauce atop the chicken. Not very inventive there. They fries were ok, but hey it's fries right and the chilli jam was tasty, but when the small pot of sauce is the tastiest part of your 18 pound meal, it's bad. Not exaggerating but a meal deal of the day McDonald's chilli chicken wrap for 1.99 beats this for taste and value hand's down. My partner had mac and cheese, and a small dish of this came with a scrunch of salad leaves, that also is not a good values meal for another 18 pounds. Sorry but in today's world they need to try harder.

I visited Hall & Woodhouse Bath on a Saturday evening for dinner and drinks with some family. The restaurant and bar is spread over several levels, with the ground floor mainly a bar, then a restaurant level on the first floor. They've also got a rooftop terrace, which would have been nice to enjoy a pre-dinner drink if it wasn't being a typical British summer and raining. The meal started off very strong, as I shared a Baked Somerset Camembert - which was very well flavored and had plenty of things to dip in it. I opted for the Nduja Chicken for my main course, which was very disappointing. The sauce with the rather small chicken breast was essentially a spicy oil - but it was completely over-powering and just made everything greasy. It cost nearly £20 too - so not cheap 'pub grub'. The drinks at Hall & Woodhouse were good, and I must say the Long Island Iced Teas were very well made and good value too. The service we had in the bar was quite slow and the waitress who served us looked like she wanted to go home. However, the service once we were sat in the restaurant was much better. The staff were friendly and attentive, and made sure we were well looked after. Overall, it was a mixed bag whilst visiting Hall & Woodhouse. Parts of it were good, parts of it were bad. It's definitely a place to visit for drinks - however I would potentially think twice before visiting again for food.

If you find yourself meandering through the picturesque streets of Bath, bathed in its classical elegance, you'll stumble upon Hall & Woodhouse. Now, this isn't just any run-of-the-mill boozer. No, it’s a masterful blend of old-world charm and modern flair. As you step inside, you're greeted by a warm, inviting ambiance that says, "Yes, you are indeed in a traditional British pub." But then, just as you're settling into this comforting notion, you spot a spiral staircase. Yes, a spiral staircase that whisks you away to a rooftop terrace that’s rather nice, I must say. It's the perfect place to gaze over the rooftops of Bath while nursing your pint or getting slightly tipsy on something a bit more effervescent. Now, let’s talk drinks. The beer selection is robust, reassuringly British, and designed to please even the most discerning ale aficionado. But here’s where things get interesting. Come Saturday night, the place transforms. Suddenly, you’re surrounded by ladies in their finest attire, sipping cocktails and Prosecco like there’s no tomorrow. It's like a scene from a film – utterly brilliant and completely unexpected. But wait, there's more. For those early birds or, dare I say, the peculiar breed who don't appreciate a good pint, there's a coffee bar. Yes, you heard that right. A coffee bar, catering to the caffeine enthusiasts and the morning shoppers who pop in for a quick fix. In short, Hall & Woodhouse is a bit of a gem. It's got the traditional pub feel, the modern bar vibe, and a rooftop terrace that’ll make you the envy of your mates. Whether you’re there for a beer, a cocktail, or even just a coffee, it’s definitely worth a visit. Cheers!

It was quick service but the food came out cold. The mac and cheese was not great. They seemed to wait for everything to be ready and by that time it was cold.

I've been here before and no doubt it has an interesting and feature full decor to be enjoyed. What really rubs me up the wrong way is having to wait 10 minutes to get served because there was only one bar person on, and then having to stop her pouring the drink because the glass was obviously very dirty, and then being charged £11.45 for an Amstel and a Thatchers gold for the privilege of being in the establishment.

I had a business meeting and lunch with some clients on Friday, and I just wanted to thank a particular member of staff called Daisy. She was absolutely delightful, and could not have been more helpful, a real star!

We booked for a table of 8 for Father’s Day. Upon arrival we were stood waiting to be shown our seats, then were left without any service. Had to go out to the bar to ask for food and drinks menus, as well as asking for service to take our orders after sitting there for half an hour . We were surrounded by a few different tables who all were experiencing table service, and due to the high number of us, we chose not to follow the QR code route as could see that table service was an option. After waiting half an hour to get service we finally placed our orders, 20 minutes later our drink orders were then lost and had to wait another 10 minutes to finally get our drinks in which the wrong drinks were bought several times. Upon the drinks arriving, one of our two shared starters came out and the second nearly 10 minutes later. Then when our mains finally started coming out nearly a 15 minute wait between the first and last plate , half the food was cold, we mostly ordered beef in which was all very chewy. i was the last the receive the meal after being asked if I even ordered a main as they had only another one to bring out even tho 8 mains were ordered in total. following this, after asking for cauliflower cheese when ordering and being told they had sold out, we opted for pigs in blankets instead, which were forgotten about and brought out later with a side of cauliflower flower cheese on the house due to the disrupted service, even tho we were told they were sold out? Incredibly disappointed with the service, especially after recommending my family to dine here and being met with staff ignoring our table and being stared at multiple times by servers once we complained about the lack of attentiveness to our table as well as being ‘ we will deal with it, pleas sit back down’ when going up to ask about the problem with the drinks when waiting 30 minutes. Would not recommend here, seems that other reviews have shared similar poor service even when the restaurant was not full.

Emma and the rest of the staff on Saturday made our experience amazing and by request embarrassed the birthday boy by singing him a song and making him wear a cowboy hat.

As predicted despite my wife registering her car registration number at reception before having a lunch with friends, she has just received a parking fine! This is the second time over two visits over 2 years to the restaurant; each time we registered the car licence plate details and each time we have received a fine! What is the point of registering our car registration number at the reception to the restaurant if each time we then get hit with a truly exorbitant parking fine?? I tried calling the pub and every time I call it goes to the voicemail. This place SERIOUSLY needs to get a rein on the car park operator as two out of two is completely unacceptable!!!

Domingo asado, Don, t molestia . . . servicio lento, comida fría, y nada en el plato parecía nada apetitoso, , la pastelería en el pastel de manzana no estaba cocinado! , , es necesario cazar un chef decente como el lugar / escenario es increíble.

What a great way to start a Saturday morning. Service with a smile from Heidi and a fantastic coffee from layla. Thank you both for starting my weekend off with a smile.
