The Courtyard café or Hall farm shop and café, easy to get confused. We called in for a veggie breakfast in early February. It wasn't at all warm and we sat by the radiator that wasn't hot. Food was very good as was the service. Added bonus is the farm shop next door.

After travelling around 17 miles to come to visit this farm shop to support a local small buisness, who in the current climate I would of assumed would of been grateful of customers showing loyalty by travelling such a distance, I’m must say I’m really let down about the fact that upon arrival at 3.02 pm I entered the shop as there was customers being served, the young lady serving behind the till very abruptly informed myself that the shop was closed and I wouldn’t be allowed to purchase any items. In the current climate I would have assumed that a extra 30 seconds and a polite response would of given the shop a £30 to £40 sale. Obviously customer satisfaction is far from high in the management priorities. One final suggestion is that they should employ a slightly older workforce who would have learnt some life skills and manners in the way to speak to a customers Without the ignorant attitude.

Found this via our 'Extra Mile' book which lists places close to motorways, it's a real gem. We stopped off for breakfast; oatcakes with cheese & their own bacon washed down with plenty of tea. Then visited the shop to buy things for a picnic lunch. Excellent quality, exceptional value.

I can't fault the café at Hall Farm. I've been for afternoon tea here several times with family and friends, as it's very reasonably priced, and I can definitely say it's the best afternoon tea I've ever had. My most recent visit was particularly impressive - the service was excellent and the food was brought out quickly. Everything was beautifully presented and the variety of cakes and sandwiches on offer was fantastic - much more interesting and varied than most other afternoon teas I've tried elsewhere. I'd highly recommend this lovely little café! They have a great farm shop too with lots of fresh produce and gifts. Make sure you pay them a visit.

visited here as we keep driving past the signs so decided today to visit this shop.not a large shop but had the usual things you would expect to see in a farm shop (although there was not too much of a selection of fruit and veg).a large butcher section wich runs the full width of the shop and there was plenty of meats on display which on another day we would of bought some from there.went into the coffee shop and had a a coffee and a piece of cake which were quite reasonably priced and as they were not very busy it arrived at the table quickly.did not feel rushed so we were able to enjoy our drink and coffee.will go back there again as it is only 10 minutes from home

Seems like a nice shop with a good selection of items. Disappointing however that when I went to purchase an item with a price tag of £2.75 on I was charged £3.25 and when queried was simply told 'that's what the till says'. Not impressed. Won't be back.

The shop is EXCELLENT with friendly staff, a good range of products and first class quality meat. The cafe is pleasant as well, with a good range of snacks, drinks and light meals. What a pity some of the staff don't seem to be as willing to match the friendliness of their colleagues in the shop. It might not be afternoon tea at the ritz, but I don't think it unreasonable to expect a smile and a friendly "hello".

There was only one empty table when we arrived although we had to wait for someone to clear it, which she did within minutes of us sitting down. Understandably there was a wait for food but not so long that it was a problem. We ordered the Full English and Poached Eggs on Toast, both were very hot and very tasty. Hot drinks were good too. It was our first visit and we had a look around the ship too. Lots of interesting foods and beers and we will definitely be back. I'm surprised I didn't know the place was here but glad I've found it now, we will be back.

We've shopped nearly every week at Hall Farm shop since it opened. Their meat is always very good quality - we really notice the difference if we have to buy meats at one of the better supermarkets - Hall Farm is definitely better. Because it is good quality you don't need to buy such big portions as you do from supermarkets. I also like the fact that I can buy 1 chop or 200g steak mince or 4 rashers bacon because the meat is not pre-packaged.

I went here to do some shopping and decided to try the cafe for lunch. I had a Ploughman's, which was enormous, with chunks of Cheddar and Blue Stilton cheese, home made pickle, pickled onions, two slices of ham, salad and a bread roll on a large plate. The only thing that could have improved it would have been some butter, but there was none.

Lovely farm shop with a good sized butchers at one end and greengrocers in the middle. All fresh and locally sourced/produced. You can smell the different vegetables and there's something so inviting about that. The cooking apples smell absolutely delicious (buying some on our next trip). The meats are well presented and can vouch for their tastiness. Interspersed there are knickknacks either for the home, garden or as gifts, again all locally produced. There's also jams, preserves, beers, wines, spices, sweets and cakes.

We used to regularly walk to Miola for a coffee and can’t believe how it has changed. Outside is a complete dump with tatty pieces of furniture up for sale at ridiculous prices . The elephant and giraffe which have been there for years are still for sale at a ridiculous price. Toilet was filthy with no toilet paper. Chose to sit outside as had children with us and tables were tatty and dirty. The food was overpriced and mediocre. Bacon sandwich with virtually no bacon. Peanut butter on toast which was slimy and greasy. Children took one look and didn’t touch it and can’t say I blamed them. It is so sad as Miola used to be such a lovely place to go to. Can only assume that with Holmes Chapel closing its on the cards that Sandbach will close as well. So disappointing and what a waste of money !
