We were in the area for a wedding & this was a convenient and well-priced accommodation. The room was clean, spacious & bright. Although the Halfway House is off a main road it was quiet & I didn't hear any traffic. The breakfast was well cooked and there was a good choice of fruit, cereal & decaffeinated drinks. I would welcome the opportunity to return.

Booked direct with the Halfway House Inn for a couple of days around the Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds. The accommodation was excellent, the location perfect and Steve the owner was very accessible and helpful. Although we did not have dinner at the hotel the breakfast was superb. Overall we have a great stay at Halfway House and we highly recommend.

We have just returned from a five night stay at this B and B. Steve has certainly made it a real home from home. A really comfortable place to stay, would throughly recommend it to others. The beds were really comfortable, lovely to have a settee and spacious room. The bathroom was a good size with hanging area and a chair. Even though the room was facing the main road the room wasn't noisy, in fact we had very good night sleeps. We will certainly return. Well done Steve and thank you for making our stay an enjoyable one.

This delightful B&B is ideally located between Malvern and Worcester. Steve the host is very friendly, very knowledgeable and very accommodating, in fact nothing is too much trouble. Our room was lovely, big and bright, well furnished and very comfortable. There is an honesty bar in the lounge/breakfast area with a well stocked fridge at a sensible price. A very good breakfast was served and if we had wanted to order a meal delivery instead of eating out again not an issue. As has been said previously although this B&B is on a busy main road you really don't hear the traffic.

Booked to be near Three Shire Showground for Autumn show. Not a local pub as we first thought. Food and bar just for guests so you are a priority. Food cooked to a time to suit you. Nothing too much trouble. Quiet even though near a road. Very peaceful after a busy day. Rooms well designed and spotlessly clean. Bed made even though only staying for two nights. Food was beautifully presented. Your previous breakfast noted to quick to reorder next morning (personal touch). Wifey and I booked in to break up a long journey. Shown to room 2 we were pleased with the space, cleanliness and facilities of the room. A lovely comfy bed, great ensuite and plugs and mirrors to suit ladies preparations. We looked out onto a busy road but the windows had been modified to reduce the noise which was minimal. A very good a/c unit is fitted to allow you to keep the windows closed in hot weather. A good selection of bottled beers and wine in the bar and a good idea of an honesty box for the thirsty. We decided to stay for the evening meal and were not disappointed. The surf and turf was king amongst a very good presentation of lovely food. A cracking cheese board too. Very reasonably priced. Breakfast was excellent, good portions, lovely bread and butter not in packets but plated, lovely. Set us up for the journey home. Thankyou and we will definitely be back if in the area.

Three people stayed at this hotel for a family event, we arrived at bang on 4 o'clock and our rooms were ready. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very tidy with contemporary fittings and decorations. All mod cons provided (especially liked the shortbread biscuits!) including tea making facilities. We requested dinner for 3 at 7 o'clock and it was provided on time, which was really nice as it saved having to go out again, having been in the car for hours already. Nice welcome from our host who showed us to our bright, spacious room. It overlooked said road but could hardly hear traffic. Nicely decorated with really lovely ensuite and spotlessly clean. Thought about going out for dinner but decided to stay put and glad we did. Food was fab! Both had garlic prawns, hubby had steak and I had sea bass - all cooked perfectly with lots of fresh veg. Good wines too! Slept soundly in very comfy bed. Breakfast was really good - lots of choices and everything tasted great. Would definitely stay again.

Situated midway between Worcester and Malvern we booked a meal at the restaurant using a voucher for gourmet meals. What a gem. Every course of the meal was gourmet standard. Between Malvern and Worcester lies a small Inn where by good fortunes we were booked to spend two nights. The room was clean, comfortable with good beds and a superb shower room. Our friends had commented that the food was great when told we were going to stay and we both decided on the fillet steak. Service was relaxed and the meal looked and smelt wonderful. That of course was the trouble - it tasted simply amazing! even the chips tasted better than usual and I have never seen such round onion rings except at the Hoopla stand at the fair. I have had 3 superb steaks in my life and this was one of them. In due course we ordered our sweets and I decided to ask the other two couples dining what they thought of their meals. It was thumbs up all round and a very happy evening by all. I have to confess that I was so glad we had the room close by as I was well 'fed-up' and content. (Full English was good the next morning - where do I put it all?) This was a real bonus to our wedding anniversary weekend and I would reccomend a visit from anyone who wants a good meal and nights rest Or just a great meal!

My wife and I stayed at the Halfway house for 1 night as we were going to a garden party nearby (ish). The 4 star rating attracted us to the place, & with the thought of the beautiful Malverns as a backdrop we headed off. When we arrived just after 5 we rang the bell, the owner met us and showed us upstairs to the room. It was a good size clean and tidy, the bathroom was also a good standard, shower,no bath. The view from the bedroom was primarily of the main dual carriageway and trees on the otherside, couldnt quite see thr hills. you could still see the road, and oncoming cars from the shower- which was a bit oddThe shower was ok if a bit dribbly, we got ready and headed down to the bar for a drink and to order a cab.Downstairs we got chatting to the woman behind the bar, when we said where we were going she said that Taxis were sometimes a bit difficult as they were Halfway between Worcester n Malvern the middle of no where. However after only 1 failed attempt she got a Taxi for us for both ways, great service. Off we went abt 7.We got back late but had a key for the side door which was useful, a couple of other residents were having a drink outside. The bed was big, amazingly comfy, the pillowsand duvet were also top class. As it was a hot night the window was open, but we had to close it abt 4 due to the traffic noise. Although very remote there still seemed a lot of traffic. The double glazing deadened the noise quite well. I had breakfast alone, a full english with toast ordered. It arrived piping hot, freshly cooked great poached egg, delicious bacon with crispy rind, nice sausage, very tasty mushrooms, beans and a tomatoe. With 4 slices of thick white and brown toast. Coffee and fresh juice aided the recovery. Not the biggest breakfast but not the smallest either. I took some toast back upstairs for Mrs P. A nice breakfast if not a wee bit lonely in the dining room by myself. We packed up and settled the bill ( £75 ) downstairs then after a 10 point turn headed of to Malvern for a walk.Nice bedroom and breakfast, the Halfway house is small and intimate, ideal for dinner and a quiet night in, not really intended for the casual party goers. A nice place but a bit off the beaten track.

We arrived in the evening rush-hour, when the road (A449) was noisy with traffic. We needn't have worried about being disturbed at night: the double-glazing was extremely effective. The room (a twin) was not cramped; it was welcoming and decorated attractively. The en-suite was tiled almost throughout and fitted with smart white porcelain. The shower was in a very generously sized cubicle, and a pleasure to use.We chose to stay in to eat, and were very pleased with the standard of service and of cuisine - as well as the reasonable prices. Perhaps the cheese and biscuits should be singled out for praise: it was extremely good value for money! At breakfast, a high grade mix of berries was available as an alternative to cereal. Cooked food could then be ordered, and arrived hot and tasty. Much better than helping yourself to dried out items waiting on a hot (or warmish) table in a hotel! Only one criticism of this well-run and friendly place: no cask beer (real ale). Just one would have done! [But perhaps not enough takers to make its nurturing worthwhile?] But in all other respects: excellent!

We were given a voucher for a gastro pub experience as a Christmas gift and chose the Halfway House based on the reviews on this site. So we braved the -5.5c temperatures and drove through snow and ice to get there. The dining room was nicely decorated although a little on the bright side. My husband chose the Goats Cheese starter and described it as "gorgeous"' I had the strips of salmon in tempura batter which were light as a feather and very fresh, in other words delicious. We both chose the pork fillet with brandy and mushroom sauce for mains, it was outstanding, and the delicious roast potatoes that accompanied it were too, we also enjoyed the fine green beans and carrots. We would have had a dessert if we could have managed it but we're too full! We asked for mint tea and were offered a choice of three different types. The lady who looked after us was most pleasant and attentive. We just felt sorry that for the whole time we were there we were the only people visiting, as it was a Thursday I would put that down to the dreadful weather.Highly recommended.

Had a voucher from Activity superstore worth £50 for a discovery meal for two which promises a taster menu of five or more courses. We had our dog with us so had to sit outside and were next to a noisy main road. There is no kerb appeal whatsoever and some hanging baskets or nice lighting would enhance the first impression I think. Other reviews say it has been done-up and whilst the dining room did look cosy the outside was drab. The waitress was attentive (possibly owner) and we were allowed five choices from the menu. We had the sea bass, chicken in bacon and cheese sauce and pork tenderloin in mustard sauce. These meals were tasters only so about one size meal to share between the two of us. All of these meals were very nicely cooked and really could not fault, particularly loved the taste of the pork and could have eaten more. For dessert we had the creme brulee and summer fruit roulade and again were tasty and well presented. My partner had a coffee and was asked if he wanted milk or cream and this was a good omen as I hate good coffee being ruined with milk when no cream on offer. He did say it was the nicest coffee he had had for a long time. Would have left a tip for the food and service (excellent for the timing of the dishes) however as the overall voucher experience did not live up to our expectations I did not. The fault was more to do with the voucher experience than the food received. I would say my marking of 4 star is generous and 3.5 was more realistic given lack of kerb appeal. Signage needed replacing.

I stayed here with my partner Kevin for two nights and stayed in two differrent rooms which were both to a high standard, one of which had a wetroom shower. The bedding was spotless and food was outstanding, the chef was very friendly and he produced home grown food which was fantastic, wish I could take him home! The bar staff just couldn,t do enough for us and simply made our stay, and they suggested lots of places to visit. The breakfast was the best we had eaten, we have stayed in lots of hotels but this one deserves a great write up! Don't judge a book by it's cover as once you are in side you will feel at home and pampered from start to finish...We will be back and Worcester was an interesting place with lots to see and do, Linda and Kevin.

I stayed here for one night with my wife. The room was very good, furnished to a high standard and very clean. Bathroom was also very good. The room did front onto the road which is busy, but it was fitted with a good quality air conditioning unit if you didn't want the window open. We ate in the restaurant and both had a rib eye steak which was really well cooked and tasted excellent. Two steaks and a bottle of red wine for £20 was excellent value.

My wife and I had booked two nights B&B at the Halfway House Inn. When we parked outside,I must admit we had our doubts, but soon changed our minds once we were shown our room.We had room number 2. This turned out to be large and had been recently refurbished, with a very comfortable double bed and nice useable furniture. The en-suite shower room was as good as many in far more expensive hotels. We had an evening meal there on our first night. There was a very good choice and what we had to eat was perfectly cooked and nicely presented, all washed down with a good, properly priced bottle of wine. Breakfast next day was probably the best we had had anywhere at any price.Next time we need to be close to Malvern or Worcester we will be staying there again. (Only problem, if you consider it a problem, is that the inn is on a very busy main road and can be noisy, but the double glazing in the bedroom kept most of it out, and the new air conditioning help us to have a good night's sleep).

My husband and I ate at this restaurant on Wednesday 27th June. The meal was a tasting menu for 2 bought as a gift from one of our children. When we pulled up outside I must admit we wondered what we had let ourselves in for, but we were pleasantly surprised with the food. The food was excellent, every course exquisite and the young girl who served us couldn't have been more helpful. Yes the decor let it down slightly but it was being refurbished so you can't expect the Ritz. All round an excellent experience and we would go again.

The Halfway House is currently being refurbished and as a result you need to look past the ongoing work. The restaurant itself isn't thrilling, but the food we had last Sunday was very good. Most Sunday lunches involve over-cooked vegetables, but not here. I "quite" enjoy a new potato but I could have eaten a bowl of these, they were gorgeous, as were the rest of the vegetables, of which there were so much we couldn't do them justice. We had the lamb and pork which were excellent. Puddings were good but not quite of the same quality. Maybe 4 stars is a little generous currently, but it's more than average, and once the refurbishment is complete, its a solid 4/5 contender.

Recommended by several ventured out and had Marstons beer OK and ordered food. 2pints later, no starter then a disappointing deep fried mushroom arrived. The main was really not good, especially for the price, poor, probably frozen sausages swimming in bisto, with a gluey mess of "bubble and squeak" below. All very friendly but not woth the wait or the money. A pity as others have clearly had better experiences

It's never easy travelling with a girlfriend whose veggie but doesn't eat mushrooms, it does seem that vegetarians are an after-thought with a lot of chefs (especially when it comes to Sunday lunch) so the Halfway House ticked the first box ... plenty of options! It doesn't look much from the outside but dont let that put you off! There was a choice of 6 or 7 starters, my AntiPasti platter was lovely and everyone elses looked wonderful. There was another choice of 5 or 6 mains, from Lamb (which I had and was stunning) to honey roasted ham and parsley sauce. The Girlfriends Meditteranean Veg Lasagne looked lovely, as did my sisters Chicken and Goats Cheese. All meals came with a lovely Yorkshire, roasties and plenty of veg for the table. The desserts looked good but we were all too stuffed to even think about it,The waitress was very nice and attentive! A lovely find that we'll definately visit again.

food was quite expensive and was not all that filling either. pub was run down bar staff were not very talkative kids running everywhere, all over not looked after correctly and the food wasn’t that nice and there are not many choices on the menu.

After having a lovely roast at the kings head we sat in their garden having a drink. Really unprofessionally the manager came over from the star inn and asked us to join them because ‘the drinks are cheaper’ Maybe but the live music is awful and your pub is empty - we now know why. So rude. Really unprofessional and an awful attitude to have towards another local business Absolutely no business coming from our large group who would have happily spent money behind the bar.

Dont go here if your Scottish! Placed an order today for drinks and lunch for my husband and I, when we went to pay the staff member refused to take my money due to it being Bank of Scotland notes? This was all we had on us so had to leave with no lunch! Last time I checked Bank of Scotland money was still legal tender! So to refuse to take this money is just down right unacceptable. Avoid avoid !!!
