Everything about Hala is Brilliant! Delicious and authentic Lebanese food, 900%so much better than Comptoir Lebanese. Will definitely come again (My visit tonight was the 6th time). Please keep the good services and high quality food at all the time.

I visited this Lebanese restaurant, expecting a great meal based on the reviews, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. Not only was the chicken was burnt, which completely ruined the flavor, the portion size was surprisingly small compared to other Lebanese spots and there were also no side salad with the main dish. On top of that, they also charge a 10% service charge which is balanced out if you have a student card. Overall, I wouldn’t visit again.

Very tasty & fresh food, thoroughly enjoyed the dinner.

Ridiculous!!!!! I was there tonight with kids.We ordered different stuff on menu. After waiting half an hour waiter showed up after 30 mins that shawarma is not available and asked to changed the order however we noticed it was there on the grill while ordering it. How come they didn’t realize while preparing the ordered. Though the order was supposed to get ready in 20-25 mins. Very disappointed and had to leave because kids couldn’t wait another 40 mins.

I go to this place regualrly to get the Lunchbox meal deal. Its a great offer and good price. You get a choice of lamb or chicken or mixed, rice or chips, its come with bread, humous and salad. Should check it out for sure.

I love this place - always such delicious food and at a really fair price. The Hala mixed grill, shawarma wraps and arayes are my absolute favourites. I will always recommend people try this place!

This place used to be better but it's gone downhill. The portions are now very small (3 falafel in your falafel dish, 3?). Tariq is a bit surly. I turned up at peak lunch hour (it was empty) they were in the middle of a cleaning session and it was a bother to find me a place to sit inside.

Had lunch today which was delicious and good value for money. Tariq always checks to see if we need anything. Highly recommend trying the lunch menu.

The food here is absolutely amazing—freshly prepared and full of flavor. The staff are incredibly helpful, making the dining experience even better. The quality of the food is exceptional, and the prices are surprisingly affordable compared to other local restaurants. Highly recommended!

Arrived at 2 pm with only two people inside the restaurant. Ordered hummus and grill chicken wings. Took 45 mins to bring my wings, joke! I wouldn’t be returning to this place again.

The staff at Hala Lebanese were exceptionally helpful and hospitable. The food was exquisite, and even with a party of eight, it was served in a reasonable time. It is advisable to check availability before visiting, as the restaurant can become quite busy. I highly recommend trying the lamb shank.

We got our first takeaway from Hala tonight, and it won't be our last. The restaurant itself is very basic, but looked clean and tidy. But the food was delicious. We all enjoyed all our starters and mains, but would highly recommend the Shawarma, Fassulia and Calamari. And there was enough for leftovers another evening, I'm looking forward to that.

Ordered delivery finally after so long looking at them online. Why did I not do so earlier? Beautiful food and amazing chilli sauce just wish there was more sauce compared to amount of meat you got. But was so tasty. Definitely my new go to place

Average food. Not bad, not great. Good service.

Overcooked, not very fresh very greasy and service was slow. Ordered a takeout and waiting almost 15 minutes for food to very sitting on top of counter for a further 5mins as the cashier is also a waitress and no one else seems to speak English or want to communicate with customers. Also got my order wrong as asked for shawarma meat and chips and was given a wrap meal!! Didn't complain as would have had to wait another 20mins for food probably no parking either as laundry next door seems to alwsys be busy the restaurant wasn't even very busy had 2 customers inside eating, cold and unwelcoming food area maybe okay for a quick bite but after my mixed shwarma had stomach pains 😢

Very decent Lebanese restaurant, we stopped for a quick lunch and very served delightful food so quickly. I'll definitely pay this a regular visit!

Ordered from Uber eats around 10pm, was told it would arrive at 10 45. The store kept extending the time to prepare the food, from 11pm, to 11 10pm, 11 30pm and so on, until 11 40 when the food was finally declared as prepared. Then I had to wait 20 minutes until a driver was selected, until the store decides to just cancel the order overall and left us hungry. Horrible service

If I could score higher I would. The food was so delicious and flavoursome. Huge variety and reasonably priced. The staff were so friendly. I can't wait to return to try some more dishes.

We were looking for halal options and this restaurant was just a wonderful find. Food was fresh and cooked very well. The people were genuinely friendly and wanted to serve you really well. My family and I loved it and we would definitely visit again. Parking was a bit of a challenge but that was maybe because it was our first time in the area. Highly recommended for delicious halal and a friendly service. Keep it up Hala!

This is the best Lebanese restaurant in Reading. Hummus beruiti and Tabule are my favourites. Shawarma wraps are cheap and best for a quick takeaway!

Tasty shawarma and falafel. Thank u for working late. Updates: Had lamb shank with rice, mint tea and Mahallabeya. The food is very delicious, the lamb shank was soooo soft and delicious as if cooked on slow heat for a day 😋. Thanks to the staff , all of the team.

Parking is minimal Infront. Maybe space for 4 cars. The restaurant is a little cramped & the decor is basic & has a Take-away with seating vibe. However, the staff are friendly, service is good & The food is fresh, crunchy, crisp & very tasty. I had the Mixed Grill & my friend had the Sea Bass. I will definitely be trying more on this menu.

Best takeaway. This is the best food one can get - easy to eat. Well balanced on flavors. Having tried almost everything from the menu. The Shawarma & Cheese Sambosek & fried Calamari with those lime onions is my top recommendation. For dessert it’s the Kenafa. Their’s is a bit different. It arrives hot. I wish the top layer was very crispy and crunchy but it’s still worth every penny.

Hala was a recommendation from my barber and definitely worth it. Good service from the beginning as we are a family of 5 including a baby. We ordered chicken shawarma wraps with chips and lamb chips which were flavourful. The lamb chops could have been bigger however they were juicy and tasty. The chilli sauce was really good, probably the best in Reading! I would buy it if they sold it Only issue is parking as it is first come first serve with limited spaces however we parked around the corner which was only a few mins walk so not too much of an issue. Hala - we will definitely come back!

Me and my friends visit this place every week after football. The quality has always been top tier with the best grill you could get for affordable prices. They also have the friendliest staff that are always so welcoming and happy to help. I would definitely recommend the food here, it has become a household favourite, including the legendary ice cream which is my go to.

Hands down a deserved five star review for Hala Lebanese. Personally, I have eaten my way through the array of delicious dishes on the menu and not been disappointed. We are always greeted by happy smiling faces and made to feel welcome. Camilla and Tariq are always friendly making recommendations and suggestions if there are dishes not to be missed!

We've recently discovered this complete gem of a restaurant on the Wokingham Road which serves THE most delicious and authentic middle Eastern food ...we just can't keep away. It's both a takeaway restaurant but also has a completely charming sit-down restaurant with a distinctly chic and retro feel, with old and new art, Arabic and English slogans and sayings, fun photos and music and movie advertising posters featuring Marilyn Monroe, The Beatles, Amy Winehouse and the Mona Liza smoking a hubbly bubbly pipe. This gives the place a really relaxed, friendly and fun-loving vibe to enjoy while waiting for your food which always arrives piping hot or fresh and crunchy. We love the exquisitely marinaded lamb and kofte kebabs, so tender it melts in your mouth and super garlicky shish taouq chicken skewers, moist, succulent and delicious. Then there are the mezze dishes ....oh, let me tell you about the mezze dishes! I immediate honed in on the Homus Beiruti and boy, we're we in for a treat. Truly authentic with garlic and chilli just like my Beiruti ma-in-law used to make..Then there is Hala's very Beiruti take on Baba Ghanuj ...which is perfectly smoked and chilled aubergine, but without the tahini of popular versions, just with a freshly chopped tomato and parsley garnish that frankly I can just shovel up with a spoon it's so delicious. Thrilled to find labneh on the menu too. The fatoush was lemony, crunchy and fabulously fresh. If you'd like to have a real taste of great Lebanese dishes, with super friendly staff and pleasant ambience, but without breaking the bank, I recommend you make your way down to Hala and check out what's cooking. You can even order Gaza Cola or super-refreshing pots of fresh mint tea. We shall be visiting again and again. Thank you Hala for bringing a little slice of Levantine scrumptiousness to the Wokingham Road. See you very soon, no doubt.

We have been here multiple times, the staff are brilliant and the food is even better. I have tried many Lebanese restaurants in Reading and this is the most authentic by far. It reminds me of being back in Lebanon. I absolutely love it and have been recommending to everyone

Amazing food, quick service and very friendly staff.

Came here as we saw on Google they had good reviews and thought to try it out. This isn't proper Lebanese food, the chief isn’t even Lebanese. We had fatoush, you shouldn’t put green peppers in fatoush!!!! It also came with no fried bread on top. The lettuce for some reason was dull, it wasn’t fresh. We had the sojouk, which was okay but needed some more flavour. The place isn’t as clean as I would expect, floor and tables are sticky. The toilet is in between tables so imagine someone using the toilet and you sitting on a date by the toilet! Not ideal. They added service change on the bill when all I could hear is the waitress in the back laughing with the chief, the walls are thin!!! We were not greated when we came in and I had to go up to them to ask for a menu. Please relook at the way you are making Lebanese food because it’s missing a lot.

i ordered mix grill with rice.. the lamb kbab and tikka was awesome however chicken shish was slightly dry… overall the food taste was very good the boy who took order can add more smile and show concern to customer by asking how was everything

Came here to visit with my family it's a very calming atmosphere, the staff were kind and helped us order our food gave recommendations I ordered a chicken shawarma with chips price was good the chicken was fresh the vegetables were crunchy and nice the chips were crispy and fluffy my younger sister ordered something she didn't enjoy and they gave her another menu item on the house the food and staff were very kind will definitely come again 😁😁

Small cute, cafè like restaurant. Food was quite good. We had a beef burger, a mixed shwarma wrap and a chicken kofta with rice. All of them were great authentic taste. Service was good too. Wasn't too busy, but good turnout of customers the whole time we sat there.

Had lunch there, breaking a long and arduous journey home and left both revived and uplifted. The food was excellent and beautifully presented by pleasant and caring staff in an informal and spotlessly clean environment. Sujuk was the best I have tasted (and I've tasted a lot)! Absolute highlight though was the bamieh (okra) served in a delicately spiced sauce. This will become a favourite dish in what is set to become a favourite eating place. If I could give 6 stars, I would, in every category!

Very nice food and the staff are hospitable

“Hala” is a warm way to say welcome in Arabic, and this is how we felt when we entered the restaurant. The people who work there are so lovely, especially the two adorable girls serving. The food is sooooo delicious, and tastes like a proper Lebanese and Arabic home-made food. The price is reasonable, the amount of food comes with it is enough, and as an extra bonus NHS members and students get a 10% discount (which worked out for us nicely). I’m not sure since when the restaurante has opened, but the lovely decoration looks like new for me. If you don’t have a car, just take the busses number 17 (purple) 🚎 or X4 (gold) 🚌 from Reading city centre towards Wokingham, and it should drop you next to the resturant. Good luck guys, and surely I will come to visit you again and again.

Stopped on the off chance but was blown away by the amazing tasting home made food. Had the mixed grill and the chicken was amazing along with the lamb. Came with rice which was nice and we had a humus to start with Deffo going again

We had a lovely meal here quite unexpectedly as we were searching for something to eat and hadn't had Lebanese food for a while. We ordered the Hummus Beiruty, The Baba Ganouj, Fool and King Prawns as well as The Lamb with Butter Beans. Everything was very fresh and tasty, the Hummus was creamy and delicious and a little spicy which was perfect! Would highly recommend Hala, the chef knows how to create a delicious meal! Will definitely come here again when I'm in the area.
