Poor. Late delivery. Cold food. But helpful food awful. Called and unhelpful service. Wouldn’t recommend at all. Taking on too many deliveries

Very negative experience….you learn by your mistakes…delivered sweet and sour chicken balls that were dangerously undercooked…telephoned to complain. They said they would come and collect them and deliver more even though we were completely put off them by now. Wouldn’t give refund…none of the food was eaten, waste of £30.

Normally great BUT tonight awful marmite honey chicken dry and hard and inedible. Salt a chilli chips tasted of old oil. Beef curry very grizzly

Haven't tried Haka for a few years after a disappointing takeaway. Though we'd give it another go. Not disappointed at all. All the food was very tasty. Beef chow mein was lovely. Had the salt/chilli munch box which was very nice. Definitely going back.

So my usual Chinese takeaway was closed, so I gave these guy's a try as they are local, chicken balls like chewing tough rubber and batter wasn't cooked properly the chicken curry was the same and chips over cooked all tasted dry and vile. Its a NO from me.

I am flabberghasted by the bad reviews here. This is a great takeaway. The food is super fresh and always good quality meat and prawns - not like the frozen ingredients usually served in takeaways. I am a devotee of Chinese food and having lived in London for 50+ years have extensive experience of eating in good quality restaurants and from a myriad of takeaways, and I'm super impressed with Hakka. I guess if you want gloopy, pre cooked generic, MSG filled dishes it may not suit. But if you like fresh, light good Chinese food that really feels made to order, I would recommend you try. I live locally and do collect my order so I can't comment on the delivery aspect, but I have always found the proprietor friendly and helpful. I don't usually leave reviews but I felt moved to support an excellent takeaway.

Awful food. Over sweetened, no consistency between orders, poor quality meat and tastes horrible. Won’t be using again

The only reason to get food from here is if no other chinese are open or you are limited online and have a craving for it. All the chef specials have some disgusting marmite sauce on them thats forced on you. The sweet and sour sauce tastes vile and no idea why (for me thats the sign of a good chinese). The actual quality of the food and the ingredients used isnt THAT bad, but the rank sauces really do it any favours. As a local I would highly reccomend looking in bognor town center or in middleton-on-sea (well until they sort their sauces out).

Ordered here today at 6.55 pm was quoted to be delivered by 7.55 pm which is understandable with the bad weather and being busy. I paid the usual £3.50 delivery plus 50p service charge which I was okay with as ive never had an issue. Always delivered on time or early and piping hot. Today it got to 8.05 pm and still no delivery so I called up and was told its out for delivery...8.25 pm still nothing, was told 10 mins. At 8.40 pm it came stone cold, the sauce had congealed and was barely eatable. No apology...nothing...

We always get Thai food from here and it’s delicious! Full of so much flavour and the portion sizes are huge (ie the meat on the satay skewers). The staff (owner) is also super friendly and really cares about the food. We never order anywhere else now.

Food was shocking and claggy! Little flavour other than soy, one of the dishes I ordered (that was on their menu) the restaurant wasn’t even aware of until I pointed the number out (should’ve been a warning I guess), but defo not a place to go with or without a Glutem allergy, as if you didn’t have one, you would by the end of it, shame!

Food was shockingly bad used to be good but the chicken balls were like rubber and the king po was small chunks of hard chicken in a pool of vinigar. The prawn crackers were brown and burnt. The stir fried veg was grey and just not good. Such a shame.

Got to say I have had two meals from here and they are the best. The meal arrived hot and it was very tasty. Would recommend this takeaway

Staying in Barnham, and ordered take out as we couldn’t be bothered to go out - honestly one of the best Chinese I’ve ever had, food was amazing, delivery, via taxi was within 25 mins, cannot recommended enough ! Thank you

We have lived locally for 20 years and the Mandarin Chef is the benchmark for Chinese food. Unfortunate,y they do not deliver which I think is a mistake. We have used the Hakka before and the food was poor. Of late however we have revisited them and our last three deliveries have been outstanding. Have they changed owners? A new Chef? Either way they are very good now. We ordered a simple selection - pancake rolls (excellent) and then Singapore noodles, black bean beef and rice. Great food. The beef was very tender with a wonderful smokey grilled taste. Keep it going Hakka - we will keep using you if this new quality remains.

We used Hakka for the third time last night and as always, it was fantastic. Arrived on time, piping hot and was absolutely delicious. The quality of the meat is always great, vegetables fresh, and sauces delicious. We are regulars now for sure 🙌👏😋

Good food but terrible ordering experience. They are using too many methods which is causing big delays. Mine took 1hr after ordering for collection and when I arrived they hadn’t started cooking it i so spent another 40mins waiting.Simplify it and it will be better for everyone. The lady on the desk was moaning to everyone waiting about how busy it was, not a great impression when they’re clearly raking it in.

Me and my boyfriend ordered a few dishes from this takeaway restaurant one evening though the ‘just eat’ app. Firstly it was an estimated delivery of 45 minutes. Following placing the order it then jumped up to a further 40 minutes (total time of 95 minutes) we weren’t too hungry at the time and keen for Chinese so decided to stick with it. The time came for delivery... no sign of the food. We let it go 20 minutes until we called to see where the food was; after various muffles, rummaging and clicking around we heard someone in the background say ‘this is the worst job ever’ and ‘oh... it hasn’t been cooked yet’ the phone was then handed over to someone else who then told us that our food was cooking now and would be with us in 40- 50 minutes. Of course, unsatisfied by this we complained and offered to collect it. We were then told it would be ready to collect in 20 minutes. We arrived at the shop 15 minutes later and they couldn’t find our food, it wasn’t until my boyfriends mum called us to tell us that the food had now arrived at the house (45 minutes late). We argued the fact and everyone seemed to be very careless, pity apologising and using excuses of ‘we are busy and don’t have many drivers tonight’ ... at no point had anyone from the restaurant actually contacted us, it was US that did the chasing and investigating. Unbelievable!To top it off eventually; after stern words with 3 different people, we ASKED for our money back. We were never OFFERED any money in return or discount. We were agreed our money back but were told to do this through the ‘just eat’ appWE WILL NEVER ORDER HERE AGAIN!!!!

Only starting using recently very good all round service and food better than others in the area. Nice selection on the menu

Phoned my order at 5:15 was told would deliver it by 6;45 but by 7pm still no food, so I phoned the take away only to be told they had not even put the order through to the kitchen, and would be at least one more hour, when I tried to cancel my order they were not very helpful but in the end said they would cancel it and would put the money back on my card in 3 to 7days not the best as they took the money start away.After all that they had to cheek to phone me at 8;30 to say they would deliver it now, said no thank you just keep it. Will never use them ever again.

Haven't used this place for five years, had my reservations before I ordered and I was right. The chef simply can't cook. Batter was soggy and under cooked, curry sauce and sweet and sour sauce were watery. Special fried rice over cooked, noodles over cooked. Basically awful I will never be going there again.

I really fancied a Chinese takeaway tonight, tried all my local ones, all closed. Thought I would try on line and found you guys.I placed my order thinking they would not deliver out so far. There was a wait time of just over one hour which was fine.It arrived in just 30 minutes, piping hot, amazing portions, tasted amazing and I have enough left for breakfast. I will definitely be using these guys again, and well done for carrying on a great service during the pandemic. The delivery man was spot on, distancing and a cheery smile. Thanks to all concerned, made my evening. Top service and fantastic food.

First time ordering here tonight Best Chinese’s Iv had . food tasty and full of flavour . Won’t be ordering anywhere else from now on .

My son ordered a takeaway through just eat for my birthday, reviews looked okay so thought we'd give Hakka a try. Totally disappointed. Short delivered salt and chilli fries, chow mein made with tagliatelle instead of noodles, which was very stodgy. Curry sauce very oily, not the usual chinese curry sauce in any way. Will not be using Hakka again

Ordered a delivery last night and had a very disappointing meal. BBQ spare ribs were tasteless and Sweet and Sour King prawn was equally poor. May be an off night so will try again in a month or so.

We have been ordering from here for two years, the food is lovely and delivery prompt. Would recommend ordering from here.

We order takeaway from Hakka every other Saturday. Good portions, nice flavours and value for money.

Lovely takeaway! Better than mandarin chef, food is never greasy. Need to start adding prawn crackers for free like everyone else does! But other than that really good.

The best Chinese takeaway. Great signature Hakka dishes. They also have a reward card system which entitles you to free dishes or discounts. Delicious!

Was nearly put off by 3.5 average review. However, glad we decided to order. The food was fresh and tasty. We would recommend this to anyone.

The old hakka was great and had a very good menu, the new Hakka is just the same as everywhere else. Gone is the Pak Choo and fresh ingredients. It's a sad sad day.

Visiting Felpham again we tried the Hakka, the food was really good, will be back for sure. We highly recommend the Hakka.

Hakka menu states that you are able to order dishes not on the menu. My husband wanted a pad Thai and was rudely told that it is not an option. The staff member then went on to agree he should try somewhere else.

Ever since Hakka has been open it’s our first choice of takeaway and nothing can compare! We order a lot from here and the Hakka style chicken with strawberries is amazing! Will always go here and it’s out first choice in takeaway! The service for delivery is quick to us and staff are always so nice and pleasant :)

The food is good and the service time is quick for pickup, I wouldn't recommend the delivery though as we was once asked "How long is a piece of string?" after waiting 2 hours for our food! I'm sure the problem has or will be sorted out.

Can't understand why this take-away is not further up the charts! We've used the Hakka on many occasions since moving to Felpham recently and never been disappointed. Staff are very friendly and helpful too.

I don’t know how anyone can say a bad word about this place I’ve eaten there LOADS but his recent visit was my first for a while and still just as good, fresh tasty food, delivery is average time for somewhere that cooks the food fresh EVERY order. I’ve seen the kitchen, there’s no hot holding dishes what so ever, everything is freshly wok’d when ordered. So delicious

We were undecided for dinner and thought we would give Hakka a try, it’s local to us. I wouldn’t normally choose Chinese but my husband loves it so we gave Hakka a try. It was super tasty, generous portions and didn’t give me the normal after taste of Chinese when MSG is used.

The service a s delivery was great and effcient but the food was average... not the best but not the worst we have eaten.

Service was friendly, delivery was quick. Chilli chicken was very tasty, the crispy duck had a few boned and the crispy seaweed was not crispy.

We wanted to order food and a member of our family said it’s amazing food from here, so we ordered.

First off the staff are friendly and the service is great! the ideas of this restaurant are great the kids meal is mega cute and the online service is fantastic, but damn the food is awful. the curry is ok, the rice is not, the rice is just boiled rice stuck together undercooked and about 2 bits of egg in the egg fried rice. the satay sauce was nice but was ruined by the chicken. The chicken is hard and stringy like icelands frozen chicken, the prawns are really fishy like they are off. the noodles are hard. the recipes aren't very nice and the menu lacks choice. Tesco finest prawn toast beats this one. sorry guys but your food has no competition against mandarin chef's. As much as this food is easy to order its not worth the wait.

Was really impressed with Hakka, food was to a high standard and staff were nice and friendly. Highly recommended the crispy chilli beef and lemon chicken. Price-wise, it's on par with other Chinese takeaways but food was better quality.

We had Lemon Chicken and Satay Chicken. Lemon chicken was almost inedible due to strength of lemon sauce which was smothered all over it. Satay chicken had no peanut taste and the chicken pieces were so dried out that it was actually crispy around the edges. This was totally inedible and was binned.

He ordenado de Hakka varias veces y nunca he tenido ninguna queja. La comida es excelente, especialmente el chow meins. También están siempre servicial en avisarme en cuanto a mi dieta y todo el personal era muy amable. Vale la pena pagar una fracción más para obtener la mejor calidad y para llevar chino más fiable que he visto y recomiendo que todo el mundo :)

After literally just arriving back from Spain one evening, we ordered a Chinese from Hakka on our way back home from Gatwick. We arrived home and it was due to arrive in 5 minutes time. 10 minutes passed so we phoned to chase up our order. A woman explained that it was extremely busy and we would have to wait another 15 minutes, which we reluctantly said ok to. 15 minutes passed and we still didn't have our food, and by this point we were all tired and extremely hungry. We phoned again and were told the same thing, another 15 minutes. 15 minutes passed and yet again, no food. We'd had enough so we phoned one last time and said we didn't want our order anymore as they had taken so long. She promised it would only be another 10 minutes, but by this point we were all too hungry we told her we weren't interested in our order anymore. We got a shirty reply about how the food would be wasted, which wasn't our problem. Hung up the phone and went to McDonald's drive thru. We were back home and eating 10 mins later! I would avoid this Chinese like the plague, and after reading all the other reviews, I would honestly pay attention to what majority of people are saying. There's much better places to eat than here.

The last time I used Hakka for a delivery let month.it took with hrs to arrive. I had been told it would be an hr. So after 90 mins I called the restaurant and the girl on the phone said it was on its way. I asked her if that was true and she said. Well yours is the next one out. When I explained I didn't want to eat at 10pm and had waited 2hrs she replied..... I know I'm starving too!!!!! Really. How about an apology. Any way it arrived eventually and I ate some but was kind of past it by then.I decided to give them another chance tonight. So I called up at 18.30 pm and placed my order. I was told 50 mins for delivery. Anyway 1hr and 40 mins later my food arrived. Luke warm and disgusting and it went in the bin. What has happened at hakka. I used to love it but it's gone so down hill . I will NEVER EVER use them again.

My previous rating for Hakka was good, but they have gone downhill in my opinion.Booked a meal for 4 online and paid in full, given an hour to delivery. After 1 hour and forty minutes still no sign of food, tried to phone then, but call kept going to answer machine.When food finally arrived it was not hot and order not complete.I will not be using Hakka again and will be requesting a refund.

I use Hakka a lot, and have always experienced exceptional customer service and great food. Compared to other Chinese take always Hakka always seems to be excellent value and the food is top quality. They even have a loyalty scheme, collect stamps to get free extras and 10% off your food. I have also tried their online ordering system, which shows you a timer on screen for when your food will be ready for collection(usually 30 mins), and it always is ready!They are very popular and can get very busy at peak times e.g. Friday and Saturday nights and delivery can be a little slow, my tip is order to collect to avoid the wait.In my opinion, the best Chinese in the area!

We have ordered a delivery from the Hakka before - this time however the experience was poor. Ordered salt and pepper ribs and these were massively over- salted and for some reason deep-fried - quite unpleasant. Also ordered Singapore noodles and again massively salty. Don't know if the chef has changed but somebody needs to train him in appropriate seasoning. This was as disappointing takeaway as I have had for a while- we will be reverting to the Mandarin Vhef in Middleton.

I would like to say, anyone who says the food here I greasy. You have another thing coming I used to go to Mandarin Chef and Sunflower ( before Hakka) and their takeaways were not up to how Hakka is now. We order frequently and their Hakka style chicken with strawberries is amazing! I love the staff on the phone and who deliver to us and we love the takeaways we get, it never disappoints us. Completely recommend.

Had another take away from here last night- we ordered duck mini rolls, chilli squid, prawn toast, chicken curry, egg fried rice, chicken chow mein, lemon chicken, shredded chilli beef & chicken balls. It all came to around £34. For the amount of food we received it was well worth the price. The food all piping hot the delivery really quick and super yummy. You HAVE to try the squid it's unbelievably good!

We ordered earlier this week and had a good experience from the Hakka - give them a go. The beef chow Mein was tasty and the pancake rolls well-filled. Very good.

We use Hakka frequently, always good , lovely menu. Delivery excellent and beautifully hot when ut arrives.

Having not had a Chinese for a long time we decided on a take away from Hakka again recently. Before I thought the food couldn't get better.. Oh my was I wrong! There crispy squid & the chicken curry which comes with rice is to die for!!!!! I have been craving it ever since! I ordered online and got a phone call within 5 minutes to say it could be up to 2 hours as very busy. However it arrived within the hour. The food is definitely worth the wait- just put your order in slightly earlier so you don't get over hungry as sometimes this could ruin an appetite. I think we will be making our Hakka takeaway a weekly thing from now on!! Give it a try don't miss out!

Rang earlier to arrange a delivery only to be told it would be 2 hours minimum and if I picked up it would be 45 minster so got thereb45 minutes later and was ignored by the clearly overwhelmed young girl at the counter for 15 minutes while she was taking an order. Not even an acknowledgement to say she saw me waiting so I sacked off the order and went down to kam Too and got fantastic service as usual

Do not order online. After a 90 minute wait they called to say they were too busy to fulfil the order and deliver. Did offer for us to collect but could not promise a time to pick up as they were very behind on orders.

Thank you very much for the great food last week - we ate so much and everything was perfect, and not greasy at all - we rolled home very happy! I especially loved the steamed silky tofu and the spicy chilli veg. Also thank you for being accommodating and making me a veggie version of the Singapore noodles. The shop looks really stylish and is a nice place to sit while waiting for your order (especially liked the display with cool items for sale such as chopsticks/rice bowls/tea cups etc). Would love to come again when I'm next in the area! x

We will never order from here again. Our usual Chinese is closed on a Tuesday so ordered from here instead. Crispy chilli beef was like rubber, chicken in yellowbean tasteless, uncooked grains of rice, egg rice was basically boiled rice with tiny specks of egg. We felt like it was all microwaved as my partner couldn't hear the usual pot banging during cooking you expect in a takeaway. Disgusting waste of money!! Don't understand why it's so busy when the food is like that.

The Hakka is relatively new and replaced an old favourite Chinese takeaway but this now is a new 'favourite'.Not the cheapest but worth paying for the quality and choice.

Had takeaway food from Hakker Chicken curry - like slop with peas and mostly raw onion, fried rice really boiled solidified and reconstituted with scrambled egg clearly some hours old and was Luke warm ! Soggy chips inedible All food safety issues I thought! Our first and last takeaway from here. Our food lies in the dust bin ! Frankly the best place for it ! Don't waste your money we did !

I ordered a chicken curry with rice and chips. There was absolutely no flavour to the curry, it was just like coloured water with onions and chicken and the rice wasn't cooked very well either!After tonight's meal I remembered why I stopped coming here!

Had a great takeaway while on holiday in the area. Booked on line and they called back straight away to say that the food would be available in 10 mins! Delicious food. Recommended.

This was the first takeaway delivery we have ordered from Hakka and we were very impressed. The food was packaged attractively with clear plastic lids to the containers so you could see exactly what was inside - a nice touch. We ordered the mixed starters for two - the ribs and satay in particular were outstanding. I had a beef chow mein and the amount of beef was very generous. We will be ordering regularly from now on as our previous favourite - the China Inn - has changed hands recently and is dreadful. Well done Hakka.

We have now used this excellent restaurant 4 times for take away and will be back again this weekend it's so good ! All our pals like it too!

We decided to try Hakka a couple of weeks ago and loved every thing we had. We have since ordered again which was just as delicious if not better! The lady on the phone is very helpful and polite and the young delivery man we had is always so friendly and both times has stopped to make a point of telling us to enjoy our meal which is nice compared to most deliveries that fling the bag at you! The beef curry is out of this world and the chilli squid is also cooked perfectly and very tasty! We have decided to now make it a weekly treat!

Went to Hakka on the recommendation of our neighbour and I have to say we had a lovely meal with my wife commenting that the rice was light and fluffy and very tasty so on the strength of that visit we have since been back twice more and I have to say completely the opposite with the rice being very heavy and stodgy on both occasions ! Such a shame as the first meal was good ! Spoke to my neighbour and they commented that you have to get the day right as the food is always better on certain days as the chef changes.

We've used Hakka every other week or so since they opened, and I can definitely say that they have not only been constantly good but they are definitely the best Chinese takeaways we've had. The food portions are great value for money and very reasonably priced. It's all good quality food and none of that horrible artificial taste you get from other Chinese takeaways. The shop itself is immaculate and the staff very friendly and they offer a loyalty card. Ordering online is really convenient and they always ring to confirm the order has been placed. They are sometimes really busy which means waiting up to an hour for a delivery however they always confirm this when phoning and the food always arrives fresh and hot. My favourite part however is the fact that they offer an extensive (clearly labelled) gluten free menu with over 30 GF dishes which are all excellent.

We have a Hakka Chinese Takeaway at least once a month. The staff on the phone are very knowledgable and friendly.The food is always fantastic, well cooked and well presented. Delivered to our door by lovely delivery drivers, who are always friendly!We highly recommend this establishment, we are sure you will enjoy their food!

The best Chinese food I have eaten in a long time. Just moved to the area glad I choose Hakka as my first take out food. Will definitely order from them again.the only negative is that one of the fortune cookies had no fortune. Apart from that suburb food.

I'm not normally a fan of westernised Chinese food as I find it too gloopy, that was until Hakka was suggested to me.My husband and I viewed the menu online, made our selections and placed our order online too, 1 hour later our food was delivered in Hakka branded packaging by a very pleasant delivery driver.The driver, even took his time to explain the loyalty program the restaurant offers too.Needless to say, the food although still westernised was the best I've ever tasted....

Online ordering and payment makes the whole process really easy and gives estimated times for delivery or collection. Once you've ordered somebody phones to confirm. All packaging and staff including drivers are logo'd up which looks professional and I've not seen with a chinese beforeDislike that they charge for prawn crackers and fortune cookies; I have never seen this done before but perhaps is the norm in other parts of the country?I once, by mistake, ordered a gluten free dish (there beef chow mein is gluten free although I'm sure if you asked over the phone they could swap the noodles) and it was awful but other than that all food I have had has been amazing especially the Hakka curry

Not had a Chinese takeaway for about a year as I find them too greasy, however after a tiring day my husband sugested it and I phone in an order, they said 1hr, however 25 mins later it turn up ; piping hot, generous servings and not a bit greasy! Definitely impressed good value for money and very tasty. We will order again !
