Food isn't great, carvery seems to be better on a Sunday. Beef was really fatty, roasties were very salty, yorkies were a bit dry and chewy. Veg and gravy was decent though. Service was good 👍🏻

For a carvery we are usually left with a choice of Marston. This was a whole lot better. The taste and quality of the food to the presentation. Superb. Staff were all polite, friendly and helpful. Now a regular visit after hospital appointments

Me and my partner must order a too good to go box weekly, we love the food & usually are allowed to pick what meat we want and help ourselves to what ever trimmings we’d like. But not tonight!! The young boy serving behind the unit had already plated the food in the boxes, the roast potatoes were anemic & I don’t like half the stuff in it, how is that too good to go as half of it’s going in the bin!! Shocking service why not let us choose what we want. I am not happy and will not be coming again to even pay a full price!! Defeating the objective of too good to go if you ask me!!!

Rebecca served us all evening. She was super friendly and approachable. We even had desert and she was super friendly when we asked for a spare spoon with our desert. I had not the best experience at a farm house in Thurmaston last year but today visit has made me want to visit again! I would say the quality and friendliness of the service received was the core of my visit. Thank You Rebecca!

Last night me and my partner visited&would like to say a massive thank you to the staff; becca, jade, marie and ebony, they were extremely friendly, they made sure everything was okay for us, made sure we were happy with our meals, and were quick to clear up after us, we were made to feel very welcome throughout our visit. The best team of girls you could wish to have around when you go out for a meal, thank you ladies!

Bloke behind the bar is rude, looked like he was a manager as well judging by being in his own shirt unlike others in uniform, ask for a clean glass and you get a dirty look overall his customer service skills are slim to none. Grabber machine for kids on the right looked like it had mouse poop in the bottom of it. Toilets look like they are falling apart with flush buttons missing. Kids play area has wallpaper coming off the wall, you stick to the tables. Food all over the floor under tables. Not a bad price for food though and reasonable quality.

We stayed at the premier inn attached to this restaurant on the 7th and 8th March we had travelled from Plymouth to spend time with family, we went for breakfast on the morning of the 8th and decided to just have the standard £7.49 breakfast which was just the hot food buffet, when we got to the counter to pay I asked for the hot food buffet for 2 people, the man who I believe is the manager who was serving tried to charge for the 10.99 buffet, I told him I just wanted the hot food buffet and not the premier inn price. Well you would of thought I was asking for his right kidney, talk about rude, he went on to say that the continental wasn’t included and that tea coffee and juice wasn’t included which we already knew, I told him we were happy just to have the hot food buffet. He gave us the look of disgust. We went and sat at a table but there was no cutlery so I asked him if we could have some, he said it’s on the table which I pointed to the table and said there isn’t any on the table, he literally passed me the cutlery in the pot in an aggressive manner and said there you now have some. The food was sub standard had to wait on eggs, bacon was hard and over cooked, the rest was ok but not very hot, We ate what we got and left, not a very nice experience. The man who served me was a tall slim man who was dressed in black trousers and a dark jumper, I wish I had asked for his name, maybe this man could take a few customer service lessons and not be rude with customers. We went in the next day reluctantly and had breakfast again this time we have the 10.99 breakfast, the cups were filthy still had coffee or tea marks in them, the glasses were filthy they had smudges on them, I had to ask for clean cups and glasses along with some other people. Food again wasn’t brilliant had to wait on eggs again, there was a queue of about 9 people behind me and they bought out 4 fried eggs not the best breakfast again but it filled a hole. On the plus side there was a lovely young lady who served us didn’t get her name but she called people babe, she was happy cheerful and lovely, a better experience with customer service for us on the 2nd day of our visit.

The manager was very welcoming. Unfortunately, we were just too late for the buffet breakfast. However, he explained that the breakfast menu was served until 12 noon. Therefore, we opted from that menu. As the refillable tea/coffee was being cleared, we were offered 2 large pots of tea as per the refillable option. The food served was as described and very tasty. Thank you so much.

We went to Gynsills for a suprise birthday meal for a family member, there was around 25 of us there. It really was such a shame how bad the night turned out! After being told we needed to get a pre order beforehand and deposit, we did all of this, got all orders sent in, to then turn up on the night being told we never should of done this. Management going mad, communication was horrendous, all staff arguing over this. Massive mess up with our food orders, food arriving at all different times and some starters cold ( soup). Highly disappointed, really was such a shame for a suprise birthday meal, to then have the night ruined like this! Wont be returning for sure. (If it wasn’t for the poor woman waitressing and dealing with us all night, I think most of the staff would of just walked out, (Rebecca) was the lady, who kept everything going for us and was the only one who seemed to no what she was doing. So thank you so so much to this lovely woman, she was so calm, helpful and well and truly made us feel that tiny bit more at ease when all went wrong!

Ordered 3 carveries on just eat Saturday night to be delivered 1600hrs Sunday. Was following on the app meals were being prepared and driver was at the restaurant. At 1610 I received an alert that the order had been cancelled with no explanation. Totally unacceptable , now I have to run around to try and feed the family. Very disappointed indeed

Been here a few times and it’s lovely. The food is nice for a carvery. We celebrated my Mums 60th and my Brothers 40th here, Rebecca is awesome as always! Very friendly and helpful member of staff that makes the experience all the more welcoming. Thanks Rebecca for making our days here more wonderful!

We have met for a family celebration , brought baloons and cake and had great time with kids who spent time in kids area. There was no preasure from stuff to leave they were very helpful with our requests and service , food was good pub style quality , nice steak and kids meals , we tried some chicken dishes and also traditional roast dinner and everyone was happy , we were pleased with kids drinks , hot drinks and cold drinks , overall lovely time we will come back 😊

Came with some friends for lunch as we were staying at the Premier Inn next door. The food was excellent, especially the carvery. Quite possibly one of the best carveries I've ever had! Rebecca was really friendly and helpful as a server and Ian on the carvery was incredibly nice and funny, a really good guy and the food he makes is absolutely delicious! Fantastic kitchen manager, keep him!!! We're planning on coming here in future when we're in the area for events!

Came for a weekend away with friends at the Premier inn. Missed breakfast but it was a blessing in disguise as we were on time for the cavery. As a lass from the south coast, this was the best cavery I've ever had! Rebecca our waitress was an absolute delight and so friendly. Ian on the carvery was a sweetheart, good sense of humour and a fantastic chef. We plan on coming back here again. I suffer with anxiety but everyone was so lovely I was really comfortable and had no issues.

Decent pub, ate there for the buffet breakfast and a carvery in the evening. Was busy in the evening and a bit noisy but the staff were still friendly and efficient.

We visited today with three generations of us and it was just perfect for what we wanted and needed. When we arrived our server told us about a great offer of children eating free and they also got an ice cream. Rebecca was so helpful and friendly! She couldn’t help us enough and told us about other offers at other times that would suit us all. The food was really nice and comforting, good value for the price and what you would want and expect.

It was a real quiet evening the food was really nice The only thing I wasn't really happy about was how sticky and old the furniture was

So we came for an 18th birthday. We were quite a large party but it was a Tuesday so not as busy as a weekend. You go up to the bar for drinks and to order food. The staff were so friendly. The food came out quick. We had starters, me and the kids split a chicken Sharing platter it was really nice, chicken wasn't over cooked and crispy. My eldest had a steak which was cooked well. I had the chicken curry with half and half chips and rice and it was great. Such good value with a naan and a poppadom. And the chicken curry was tasty. My youngest had a kids meal and again good size and great value. Everyone who ate enjoyed and 4 of the group had the carvery and they all tucked in. They brought out the cake for us and asked if we wanted to chop some of it up. Rebecca was our server and she was so helpful and professional. Nothing was enough. The bar staff sorry didn't get your names but all very chatty and friendly. I think the food is well priced. The only negative is the interior is looking very....well used....it looks like they could do with a bit of a refresh. But if you can look past that. The food is well priced and tasty and service during not peak times was good and quick. Would definitely go again.

First time there and it was very nice!

Ordered gluten-free bbq chicken meal came with a jacket potato. The jacket potato was cold, I was offered a new potato that came just as I was finishing the rest of my meal. Due to staying in the hotel next door, I had to have breakfast here as the hotel didn't do it. I was brought out half frozen bread, the buffet was very empty and was lukewarm. This was on the first day on the second, which was worse due to it only being open half an hour again it was lukewarm and hashbrowns that were freezing cold. I can only hope that they can take not to the reviews and build on it.

Stayed at the Premier Inn next door and decided to grab breakfast at Gynsills Farm the next morning. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with some good old-fashioned service the kind that’s getting rare these days. Ordered poached eggs from the kitchen since I was trying to be healthy, but the staff didn’t let me off easy when they spotted a hash brown on my plate. Got called out in the best way, with a bit of banter that made the morning feel a little more personal. It’s great when you get real people who actually engage with customers rather than just going through the motions. The breakfast itself was spot on, and the experience has definitely sold me on coming back to try the carvery next time. Great food, great service, and a bit of personality, what more could you ask for?

We went here as a family of 5 for a birthday meal. Fair to say we were treated like royalty by the staff. Rebecca was lovely, showed us to our table and made sure everyone was happy and comfortable. We got 5 carvery’s which were all served by a chap called Kyle who again was really attentive and helpful, Kyle even helped take some of the kids plates back to the table because we didn’t have enough hands! Rebecca made us feel so welcome and continued to make sure we were all taken care of. Such a lovely experience made by such lovely people! I couldn’t recommend this place enough, we will certainly be returning!

Where we were seated was rather murky. Our table was quite close to other groups, so and they lacked privacy. Small plate menus would have been appreciated.

My daughter and I popped in for a cheeky mid week roast dinner and we were met by a lovely front of house the great customer service carried on to the bar and right down to the chef/kitchen manager who was happy to have a chat, smile and allowed us to feel really welcome and comfortable. Our dinner was 10/10 and even got a take away for my mum, honestly lovely experience well done 👏🏾 to all of you

unfriendly staff at the bar! the website states it says kids eat free on saturday’s in January! apparently you have to tell them you want this before you order food! the tables and the surrounding areas were dirty. We used to come here alot but its gone downhill. Wish we had gone a couple of extra miles and gone to Grove Farm instead, its a lot better there.

Sunday lunch. Service a little slow. Ordered on the app, but had to ask about our order after 20 mins. We were then told our drinks were available to collect from the bar and that because we’d ordered Carvery on the app, we simply went to the counter and showed our receipt. No one explained this when we were seated.

Overall it was ok. Nothing special. This was my second visit and the wide range of food meant we all got what we wanted. I like to always order the same thing, and for that need, this place is good. It was ok. Straighforward. Nothing to shout home about but simple and easy. What you see is what you get.

Absolutely amazing service! Super quick and accommodating to everyone! There was quite a big group of us , We had a few children with us and all staff were amazing. Interacting with them and Rebecca was brilliant kept coming over to us seeing if we were okay, if she could get us anything else and recommending things to us! Ebony in the bar was brilliant. We came here on Christmas Day for dinner and I must say the carvery was top notch. I wasn't expecting great things but the beef was lovely. My only criticism is the choice for starters was poor but even then the Winter Soup I had was tasty. I'm seriously considering coming back next year!
