What a wonderful find...and just in time for lunchtime service. We both had fish and chips which were gorgeous. The view is spectacular and the customer service was friendly and efficient, would easily recommend!

A walk along the glorious coastal path found us at GTN and we stopped for lunch on the sheltered terrace. The view is quite out of this world and the food (fresh crab) and service impossible to improve on anywhere. We were so impressed we came back in the evening and had the best fish and chips in a long while .... service was efficient and friendly on a busy Saturday evening.

How do you manage to get not one, but TWO lon, black, stringy hairs in a burger? Absolutely grim. Put off my food, I was offered some scampi, which was above average. Put me and everyone else off our food.

After having been the day before for a pleasant tea and scone afternoon, we were looking forward to an evening meal tonight. The service started off very pleasant and we enjoyed the brie and cranberry parcel as a starter. We both ordered the lamb rump with red cabbage and mash. The lamb arrived as a sizeable piece of meat. However, it was raw in the centre! Don't get me wrong, we like our lamb pink, but not raw. When we showed this to the waitress our plates got whisked away. Then we waited. And waited. There was no contact, no explanation, no apology. We weren't kept informed what was happening. Eventually, I went to the front to ask about it and was told that it had just been served. Again, no apology... One of the pieces was now perfect, just slightly pink, the other (smaller) one slightly overcooked and grey. The flavour was very good, and the red cabbage as well as the mash were faultless and tasty. There was a sense of being ignored afterwards, and no eye contact from the waitress when our plates were taken at the end. We understand that this was a fairly new winter menu, which was obviously not well "rehearsed". However, as much as we were disappointed with the very undercooked meat, we expected better customer service following this experience. If not a complimentary dessert or a reduced price then at least an open and honest explanation and apology. Management and staff training could definitely be improved. Were in the area for a while longer, but regrettably won't be returning here.

We stayed here for a short break in Oct. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. And we couldn’t ask for a better view of the sea! We dined in the restaurant both nights and the food was amazing, the staff we friendly and the outside areas were cosy and warm even in October. We will definitely be returning to such a lovely hotel

Stayed at this hotel for two nights and was absolutely thrilled by the experience of tranquility and beauty! Located in the bay, directly at the beach, there are few other places that can match this. Rooms with a view of the sea, waves steadily rolling in and the slow tidal change.

After pre booking a table for 4 on the Thursday before , when we turned up we had not been put on the system Allegedly. There was a big party of people in the middle , so reading in between the lines our table must of been given away. As my wife is a diabetic we had planned to eat at 6.15 and then to be turned away .

Tried to book a table for 8 and a tiny dog but the receptionist informed me that the pub doesn't allow dogs inside. Fair enough lots of places don't, I've no issue with that. So we tried to book a table on the terrace where dogs are allowed but were then told that they don't book terrace tables it's "rock up and see". We really didn't fancy our chances with that!!. So they lost our custom this time.

Fantastic 2 night stay. Superb sea-view. Love snoozing to the sound of waves breaking on the beach. Breakfast was a notch above the norm. All down to skill at egg cooking if you ask me...lol Staff experienced, professional and pleasant to interact with. Possibly the best located hotel in the UK? Few sundowners on the terrace with waves breaking beneath your feet...gawd... More seafood needed on the menu, local would be best. Would cause an opening of my wallet.

Just went in for drinks .The place was totally empty. Sat at a table that was reserved but in over an hours time. We're told very rudely by some lad who obviously couldn't be bothered seve us to move to another table as that was reserved. Not being spoken to like that so left pub. Went to pub over the road The Ship and the place was packed with fantastic service at the bar. Pretty obvious why all the locals and public choose that one.

I left my heart at Aberdaron.. a small lovely village in the middle of nowhere. We reached it by bus. The hotel is directly on the beach.. the ocean in front of it. People was always very welcoming and trying to please customers. The hotel was clean and very welcoming. The room was quite big and you could see the sea from the window. Comfortable bed and very silent room. Nice bathroom with a big shower. We ate lunch here and they have many gluten free options. I had a gluten free sandwich with shrimps, chips, and salad. I also ordered a cider, very tasty. We reserved a table for dinner and I had a gluten free soup with fried potatoes and coleslaw. Big surprise: there was a gluten free dessert -> I had a caramelized sponge and custard. Breakfast was complete: you had to order through a sheet -> I had gluten free toast, butter, honey, salmon, scrambled eggs, fruits, orange juice. The price was absolutely worth it and I recommend it.

Booked a table for 8 for 6.15pm Saturday, 7th October. It was absolutely heaving when we arrived. Unfortunately one of the group was late which caused a bit of stress in the kitchen. We were warned there was a 45 minute wait for food. Fine. We weren’t too hungry at that time anyway so it wasn’t an issue. We ordered our food. A variety was ordered from lasagne, gammon, curry to Tuscan chicken. Everything looked lovely when it arrived. Home made chips, fresh salad. There was 4 members of waiting on staff and they all worked extremely hard and did not stop all night. Nobody came to our table during the meal to ask if everything was ok or if we wanted more drinks. Which we did want but they were so busy we didn’t want to be an inconvenience . Unfortunately the garlic bread was rock hard and inedible. We bought it to the manageresses attention when we asked for the bill and she did remove it from our bill to be fair. Very busy place.

We were staying at this hotel, and enjoyed our first meal there so much that we ate there every night. Interesting menu, great ingredients carefully cooked and served by friendly, professional and eficient staff. We found the helpings to be very generous too - the seafood platter for two, with a side of chips, did us very nicely for a main course, although it was only supposed to be a starter! Other highlights were the Greek lamb plate and the salmon with grilled veg and sweet chilli sauce - all excellent. Strongly recommended - nice atmosphere and stunning views all added to the great experience.

We were in Aberdaron for a week and ate here twice. The first time we booked ahead and ate indoors. The expensive seafood platter for two was lovely but about the size most restaurants serve as a single portion . House wine was £21 per bottle for ordinary plonk. Limited menu (unchanged since last year). The Greek Lamb and Tuscan Chicken were delicious and the table service good. The second time was like a different restaurant. We didn’t book because we’d planned to eat in The Ship across the road but their restaurant was closed because they’d “lost” their chef. We opted to eat on the terrace to enjoy the sunset. “Order food at the bar” we were told - easier said than done as the bar was crowded with local drinkers. Order taken and charged for immediately. After a short wait the food was placed on the table and the waitress disappeared. My 10oz rare rump steak was actually a small sirloin steak plus a small piece of rump - both were over-cooked with no sign of being grilled as if they’d been cooked off well in advance and left to keep warm. The chips were inedible. No sign of any staff throughout the meal and frankly I couldn’t be bothered to queue at the bar to complain. This used to be an excellent restaurant - maybe the manager is off on Wednesday nights?

Cakes available were advertised out of the front of this establishment. However, when I asked at the bar what cakes were available, I was told, "We don't do cakes." So, my partner and I have a Cappucino instead. The Cappucino tasted like instant coffee, with a spoon full of froth put on top. There was absolutely no way this was made with filter coffee. It was weak and tasteless. If you're looking for a quick dink and a snack, i'd avoid this place.

After a long journey we needed a good, early evening dinner and Ty Newydd did not let us down. The restaurant (and the terrace, though it wasn't the weather for that on our visit) is at the waterfront, so there are fine views over the bay. Facing the water the bar is at the right-hand side and the restaurant tables go round to the left. The staff were nicely attentive and efficient and we were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the dishes we ordered: chicken breast (her) and swordfish (him), especially the chicken. These were washed down with a fruity merlot (her) and a really tasty IPA (him) and finished off with a well made coffee (her) and a delectable white chocolate cheesecake (him). The restaurant appears unprepossessing, but the food is extremely good and very fairly priced, we thought. Well done to all at the Ty Newydd: we enjoyed our visit.

We sat out in the terrace overlooking the sea - perfect spot and dog friendly. Had a sandwich with chips and hubby had burger. We both really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Would definitely go back and recommend.

The location and quality of decoration of the interior are unbeatable. The food is standard pub fare plus some fresh crabs. Service was generally good. Some of the staff were welcoming, others less so. The toilets are made, freely available and clean.

Good food, reasonably priced, helpful staff. Best place to eat in Aberdaron (we tried everywhere, and this was the one we went back to!)

Big family group and a small dog visited for an evening meal and had a wonderful time. A separate, dog friendly dining room was a good start. The food was the star, excellent portions and the rump of lamb was superb. Highly recommended

Delicious meal served rapidly while looking over the sea, what more could you want? An excellent dining experience. Fish had a bit of a soggy bottom but other than that it was top marks.

Had lunch here while staying in Aberdaron with family. The food was average I had gammon which was a good sized portion. Staff really friendly. Clean throughout. Lovely beer terrace looking out over Aberdaron beach. Good choice of gins.

Awful experience. We arrived around 2 pm, and we asked what the soup was. We were told it was Parsnip and immediately ordered. The member of staff went to the kitchen to ask something and then came out to say they are no longer serving food. We found this odd given that she had just confirmed the soup with the kitchen, and the cafe is open until 4 pm. Fair enough if we were trying to order at 3.45pm, but this was at 2pm. We ordered coffees and welsh cakes, which took 20 minutes to come (cafe was empty, save for ourselves). The rude member of staff then slammed them on the table, didn't even take the items off the tray, and walked off. Never have I had such an awful customer service experience. Complete letdown to what is a lovely area.

An out-of-town farm/campsite/farmshop. Reasons for 5* = service (friendly), quality (.take a look round the shop), price (very good value) . I thought this was a lovely place. As a family we’d all happily revisit. Good value for the quality of produce. In Leeds (where we come from) could charge a lot more. We’d happily happily revisit

We stayed for 3 nights… a cracking hotel, rooms really comfy, great breakfast and evening meal… staff were lovely. Thank you to Dave for the local information for walking…. Will be back again!

A most welcoming local pub with an excellent chef who happily adapted starters into a main for me - veggie! Although menu catered for everyone. Mine hosts were so cheerful & hardworking - many could take a leaf out of their books! The place was absolutely buzzing with people of all ages - locals & holidaymakers having the time of their lives singing along to the live musician of the evening who sang everything from Beatles/John Denver to modern day...talented chap! We will definitely be back - next time we may stay if not during the summer months, perhaps for an Autumn/Spring walking holiday!
