We enjoyed a family meal at this friendly pub on a busy Friday evening. There were 9 in our party, including a toddler, so it was nice to be given a table upstairs in a quieter area. The food was delicious and we chose sea bream with patas bravas from the specials menu, steak pies, rib-eye steaks and a vegetarian risotto with fish fingers cor the toddler. Desserts were also very good with chocolate fudge cake, lemon cheesecake, hazelnut and raspberry roulade, bread and butter pudding, mango sorbet and a cheeseboard. We would thoroughly recommend visiting this restaurant but bear in mind that parking is limited and the nearby roads are very narrow,

Saray Restaurant

20/09/2018: This was our first visit and we were not disappointed. We had booked a table, but it was a bit difficult getting in as the was queues of people waiting for tables who hadn't booked. Once we got through the queue we were quickly shown to our table and given the menu. Before we had ordered we were give a basket of sliced bread and olives, yoghurt and a spicy tomato dip, these were super. We placed our order and did expect a wait as it was very busy, but the service was quite quick, it would have been better if all meals had been served at the same time. First two came, then a wait and one more came and then another wait and the last meal came, not really good when your are out with friends. The food was well cooked and tasty, though not as spicy as I thought it would be. When we had finished the meal we were given Turkish Tea and Baklava, this was really lovely and on the house. All the staff were very friendly and it seemed as if nothing was too much trouble for them. The only down side was it was really noisy as there was a child's party at the next table with quite a lot of people, once they went it was quitter and very pleasant., it was just one of the things and we couldn't blame the restaurant for that, but next time I will ask for a table near the front and not at the back.
09/09/2018: This is definitely the best of its kind on City Road, and I’ve tried them all! Perfect Lebanese/Turkish cuisine. Large portions, fresh ingredients, very tasty. The marinated chicken pieces are to die for! And the sea bass was a complete bargain! Nice crispy grilled skin. Lovely choice of fresh fruit and veg smoothies too, as they don’t serve booze. Free bread and dips to start and free baklava and Turkish tea for dessert. All in all a 3 course meal with sides cost two of us £30 and we took a whole meals worth away in a doggy bag! Love it. Staff were so nice, definitely returning soon - keep it up guys! :)

Casanova

25/11/2018: Just what we were looking for on a quiet Monday night. Calm atmosphere, great food and friendly service. Even our Italian host was impressed...
30/09/2018: I'd always assumed this was a run of the mill Italian restaurant so I was very surprised to discover that the food is excellent and prepared with a lot of skill. The service was also very attentive and I got the impression they are very knowledgeable about the food and wine they serve. My only slight criticism is that the decor is very outdated and could do with a revamp.
