As a group we go to a Nottingham restaurant once a month and having enjoyed our previous visit a few months earlier we had booked in again. When we arrived we were told that there were 8 items unavailable that evening also the prices of wines had risen dramatically since our last visit with most of them in the £30-£50 range. This seems an excessive mark up and at that point we discussed leaving but as we had had to give our credit card details and were unlikely to get in at another restaurant at such short notice we stayed. Because of the prices we only ordered 1 bottle of wine with the rest of the group having beer or tap water. If the wine had been in the mid £20 range we would probably have ordered 3. Having said all that the food was excellent and the service great. The only other problem was that was that all the plates were cold. It seems such a basic thing – why spoil good food by serving it on cold plates so that you must eat it quickly before it goes cold?? Will we be going back? The jury still remains out. A great time had at Gusto, Nottingham for our company Christmas Party. A special shout out to our waitress, Evie. Great service and such a bubbly personality. Keep up the good work.

We had a fantastic meal last night at Gusto. Didn’t leave a bite of food left! We started with Bruschetta and Petals and then had the Crab Fettuccine and the Scallop and Prawn Ravioli. Amazing!! Oh and you have to try the chocolate brownie for dessert! Our server was Evie Walker and she was very nice and professional and extremely helpful! All around, a perfect evening!

The service wasn't up to standard and the food was poor for the price. Carbonara is usually a reliable dish, yet somehow I was left disappointed due to the fact they have recently changed their recipe. I would urge Gusto to change it back.

Having arrived ten minutes late, we were told our booked table had been given to a party that had arrived early! We were sat away from all the other customers, on the top level. No one else was on this level! There were tables in the other area! It was cold and not very welcoming. My wife commented to the waiter about the cold and his reply was “It is up here but I have been walking around, so I a can’t feel it”- wow!! The food was ok. My Son booked it, so I did not complain on the night, as I did not want to create a scene.

We came here for our Xmas do, 15 of us. Even though we arrived bang on time, we had to wait awkwardly for maybe 15 mins or so. The food was good, if a little small on the portions but overall a good experience and great drinks.

I’m not one to leave negative reviews but our experience at the Nottingham branch was just appalling. Rude staff and absolutely awful service for what was meant to be a special festive meal with friends. We booked online weeks prior and subsequently received a phone call informing us that there would only be high tables available. We specifically wanted a low table so we agreed to move our booking time-slot (and hence juggled our schedule for the day) as we were assured that a low table would be available at that time. When we arrived, we were placed at a high table. I understand that oversights can happen but when we initially informed the staff that we were promised a low table, we were met with rudeness and a dismissive attitude. While we would normally overlook the table mix-up, the way the situation was handled left a sour note and a foretell of an uninviting atmosphere, not exactly where you want to celebrate the festivities so we decided to leave instead. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

My husband and I had a fantastic anniversary dinner at Gusto Nottingham. Our waitress, Evie, really looked after us and went above and beyond to make our evening as special as possible which we really appreciated!

Visited on Wednesday (4/12/24) with colleagues from work. We had a table booked and arrived a little earlier which wasn't a problem. We were shown to our table by Evie who was our server for the evening. She was very attentive and provided amazing customer service. One of the guests chose the Steak Tartare and she walked us all through how she was preparing it. The quality of the food was amazing and served in good time. We all agreed that we would be returning! It is a little on the pricier side but you get what you pay for! I would advise booking in advance as the tables did soon fill up!

2nd visit, still great service, wide choice of food for all us fussy eaters and excellent selection of drinks. Food was lovely, although the restaurant a little busier this time and not all dishes as hot as could have been. The food was still lovely and tasty. Their coffee is wow! Will definitely recommend and revisit. Lovely ambience and decor.

The sole reason for 5 star review is Eve, she is an incredible host and we will be sure to rebook due to her amazon hostess skills

Good restaurant but disappointed with the pizza with very few toppings, I paid extra for ham to have 4 tiny little pieces.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my dad's birthday, but unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. The seafood ravioli was a particular disappointment. Priced at nearly £20, the portion was minuscule—just six pieces—and the flavour was underwhelming. It felt wholly unjustifiable for the cost. The pizzas were unremarkable and similarly overpriced, offering little to make them stand out. The Caesar salad, however, was the most disappointing of all. Its presentation was shockingly poor: a few limp lettuce leaves tossed into a bowl with no effort or flair. To make matters worse, we requested cherry tomatoes to be added, and while the waitress vaguely agreed, she neglected to inform us of the additional £3 charge. This felt both cheeky and opportunistic, especially given the already steep pricing. When the bill arrived, we were astounded by the total, even after applying a discount. The restaurant also included a service charge, which felt presumptuous, given the lacklustre experience. We ultimately asked for it to be removed, as it didn’t feel earned. Overall, this was a deeply disappointing visit. The poor value for money, underwhelming food, and lack of transparency left us regretting our choice.

The Atmosphere was wonderful, We were served by Andreea and she was lovely. The food was also very nice.

The food was great, the atmosphere was great but more importantly, Evie our waitress was fantastic. She was fun, “bubbly” l, attentive and professional. We only dropped in for lunch and had a great time and will be back next time we are in Nottingham, and thanks to Evie for the great service.

Not a place for other ethnicities. The staff who show the table is not respectful. If you are not British, don’t go there.

Service was slow. Our mains came before we had finished our starters. My main was returned as it was cold. Once I got my meal it was very salty. Not the same experience when we have dined here before. Won't be going back.

Went out with colleagues from work. The food was nice and the ambience was nice as well. Customer service was on point 😊 I had sourdough pizza; carnivoro. It was not cheap, but it was worth it. Specifically, the dessert portions were good. I had sticky toffee pudding, and it was really nice.

Delicious food, super cosy. I went on a solo date and wasn’t rushed at all, unlike in some others places. Andreea served me and she was great too.

The food was great but the service was so poor. We felt rushed to make a decision and weren’t given a kids menu when there was a child with us. The child was still eating and so were one of the adults when they started clearing plates and asking if we want a dessert menu. We asked for two minutes so we can just finish our meals but the staff member said “that’s fine you can look at the dessert menu whilst you’re finishing off your meals”. They then came back and asked if we wanted to order dessert when they could see the child was still eating. We declined on desserts and just asked if we could have two minutes (we wanted to sit and have a few more drinks whilst the child finishes) but they instead just went away and brought the bill. We felt so rushed and all together were not in there longer than 40 mins 👎

First visit to this restaurant whilst visiting Nottingham and it was great. We will certainly return when visiting the city next. Superb food and cocktails. A little disappointed they add a service charge as we would have liked to have tipped our waitress ourselves.

The decour is nice and the service was fine. But the food was cold and pretty tasteless. How can you serve cold food? That's pretty basic. We wouldn't return.

Lovely waitress and good service, but not the best Italian food. Ordered a Hugo spritz and tasted just like fizzy cucumber, no elderflower quite disappointing for £10.50 The carbonara was quite dry and had a strange aftertaste, have made better cooking myself at home However the carnivore pizza was lovely!

We had a wonderful evening at Gusto Italian in Nottingham, made even better by the exceptional service from our server, Evie. From start to finish, the experience was delightful, and every dish exceeded our expectations. To start, we shared the hummus and dough petals with slow-cooked beef, which was an absolute treat. The hummus was creamy and well-seasoned, pairing perfectly with the soft, flavorful dough petals and the tender, rich beef topping. For mains, I had the Carnivoro sourdough pizza, which was generously topped with a variety of meats and had the perfect balance of crispy edges and a chewy center. My girlfriend opted for the crab fettuccine, which was a standout dish—delicate, fresh crab in a creamy, flavorful sauce that clung beautifully to the al dente pasta. Finally, we couldn’t resist sharing the warm chocolate brownie for dessert. It was served with a scoop of ice cream, and the contrast between the gooey, rich brownie and the cold ice cream was divine. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy yet sophisticated, and Evie made us feel so welcome with her warm, attentive service. She had great recommendations and ensured everything was perfect throughout the evening. We’ll definitely be returning to Gusto Italian—it’s a gem in Nottingham!

I had a very nice lunch with my grandchildren at Gusto in Nottingham. The creamed mushroom starter was particularly good.

Food was good. Due to how busy it was service was a bit delayed. When a discount was scanned it did not go through on the bill, which is unfortunate considering the prices. Only realised when I got home. Make sure to double check your bill because customer service ignores your email.

Loved this atmosphere in the place, staff were on ground and welcoming straightaway. Overall service was great. Enjoyed the drinks. My husband and I both had pasta meals. I don't know if food were made fresh but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. I would definitely visit again and try a different item on the menu.

Reheated pasta and poor service. 50 minutes for a main, complained twice and they still added a service charge at the end. With so much incredible Italian competition in the city, go elsewhere

Went to gusto for a bottomless brunch. You get 90 minutes on the brunch, in that time we only managed to get 4 cocktails due to the slow service(bare in mind it was a week day and not a busy Saturday) We also had a member of our group with several allergies which meant she could not eat any of the food from the brunch menu or drink any of the drinks, we were told she had to order from the brunch menu if she wanted to sit with us. They said she could have the gluten free alternatives of the food but they could not substitute the drinks. We checked the website and the brunch menu and nowhere did it say the whole party had to order from the brunch menu. They tried to make her pay £37 to not be able to eat or drink anything. In the end she sat on a separate table and they allowed her to order from the main menu

Delicious Italian Food - great ambiance - the service was great - we would be regulars if we didn't live across the pond! The staff was great - our pastas were all flavorful, nice and hot and delicious! We would definitely recommend!

We came yesterday for a bottomless brunch, we like to try different ones. By far this was the worst, not for food, this was good but little choice, but the drinks and time. Most places give you 2 hours, this is only 1.5 hours. The drinks are not proper cocktails and are all filled up with soda water or prosecco. We had to wait 15 mins for the first drinks and then one of them was forgotten. 15 minutes before the end of service we were told that would be the last order of drinks allowed, all other places ask you at the cut off point if you want to place a last order. Then when the bill came there was a non optional £38 service charge, well wow. We will not return to this one and will not recommend.
