Gurkha tandoori restaurant in Worthing

Disappointing experience trying this place for the first time. Took around 20 minutes to have our order actually taken even though restaurant was almost empty and others appeared to be finished, perhaps they focus more on take-out. The woman who did seemed totally uninterested, she was looking in the opposite direction as my wife was trying to speak to her. When the food arrived we had both been given the same dish. The manager(?) came over after a while and I told her but she seemed to ignore me and walk off. Food was bland anyway… Very annoying as we were both looking forward to trying this long established restaurant but don’t think we’ll be returning any time soon.

Took an hour and a half to turn up, was cold when it arrived and items were missing.

As always amazing food! Always given advice about what to try. Cooked fresh to orders, tasty, lovely curries. I had the Nepalese Style fish curry - a winner 🏆

absolutely shocking ordered at 18.58 still no show at 20.41 and charged me £4 delivery to bring it if it ever gets here 500 yards

Really delicious food, great quality and wonderful flavours. Food was hot (temp) and on time. Would recommend and will be ordering from Gurkha Tandoori Restaurant in the future.

Always order every week only downside I would say is every week we try the chips and they just get worse there soggy and undercooked and always cold

Had a takeaway delivered to a caravan park. Arrived on time by pleasant driver. Ordered by phone and spoke to polite friendly lady. Food was excellent and arrived hot. Recommend it 👌

Excellent food as always yum yum

I really didn’t enjoy any part of this meal at all. The rice was flavourless and the korma didn’t even taste like korma, it was a weird flavour and the chicken tasted cheap. The Keema Naan was horrific I couldn’t even finish it, it had like a lamb paste and stunk compared to other ones I have had from elsewhere, the onion bhajis were okay, just crumbled and fell apart, didn’t keep their shape which made it difficult to enjoy. Really wish I could’ve got a refund on this because it feels like a huge waste of money.

Sorry to inform you that I didn't like the taste of raitha and biriyani sauce. The biriyani was average in taste.

Fantastic little find in Retford family ran with big smiles and fantastic fresh cooked food , centre of Retford and very accommodating, dine in or out , wheelchair access and takeaway , as a Chef I look at everything and I can not find 1 fault with this beautiful heart in the centre of the town.will definitely return. Absolutely gorgeous dinner but what really took my breath away is the amazing service by Arsana (spelling may be wrong). She was amazing and explained to us they’re a family run business and have been open for thirteen years. I can’t speak to the take away experience however if you’re looking for a nice Indian dine in experience in Retford this is unequivocally the place for you.

Archana (the owner) is lovely. She has a brilliant aura. It’s amazing value for money. For the two of us we only spent £25. Absolutely gorgeous food.

So we ordered two rices and a naan but when we ordered it said it would be earlier an then it took 1:30 hour mins for it to come

Ordered a take away from Gurkha. Ordered a lamb rogan Josh, special rice and Gurkha remix. All very nice. The lamb rogan Josh when delivered was chicken. But the flavour was lovely. Despite them getting the meat wrong, I would definitely still order from Gurkha again.

Unfortunately the delivery was around 15 mins late and was only lukewarm.I’ve had numerous deliveries and this was the only one I have ever had a slight issue with.

I have always used Ghurkas for my Indian takeaway but have been really disappointed the last couple of times. My prawn dish was absolutely tasteless. I’ve ordered this dish numerous times before and it’s been beautiful so I’m not sure what happened this time ! There wasn’t very much lamb in the bhuna either . Very disappointing and very sad to say I don’t think we’ll be using you again

Pickle tray for the popadoms was literally a watery substance for all the sauces , these had most obviously been watered down to the extreme, what a let down, rest of meal was good but the fact they would send these sauces out to a customer speaks volumes about the quality and care of this restaurant

Really happy with the food as always. Good quality and very tasty. Bit disappointed that there wasn't any salad or mint yogurt dip with my order though, not the first time either.

Been a few years since I've been in but still excellent

Food was late. Once I dished my food on to a plate there was a pool of water on my plate. I had to try and drain the water to one side. It made the chips soggy and rice cold. I ordered this exact same order a month ago and it was amazing. This time not so great.

Ordered lamb ceylon and received chicken ceylon. Food wasn't very hot when delivered probably due to the fact it was late

Order placed at 1800 for a 1900 delivery. Delivery time wads stated as 30-45mins. At 1900 we were informed the delivery time would be 1915. At 1930 I asked for an update and was informed it would be 2000. Really great food, just poor delivery time.

I was not impressed with the wait time order confirmed at 19:22 and didn’t arrive until after 21:00. 2 curries 1 rice and 1 naan 2 chapatis. Should not of Taken that long. Won’t be ordering again

Went as a group of 6 food was excellent and staff were brilliant would definitely go there again.

Not up to the usual standard tonight but still enjoyable. Salad wasn't very fresh and I didn't get the usual Mint Yogurt dip. I would still order again.

We ordered Prawn Ceylon, Tandoori Mixed Grill and Onion Bhaji. The mixed grill was very nice, pretty much as expected nothing special though. The prawn ceylon however very poor indeed, they were no prawns at all only shrimp and the whole dish was a let down. The onion bhaji, definitely have had much better. All food was warm but not hot. This is the first time we have used Gurkha from recommendation but all in all considering the prices the whole meal was very disappointing 😞 and although delivery was on time this was only just. We did try to call the restaurant at the time but couldn't get a reply.

Me and the family got a large takeout from here and it was all together not great. The food arrived an hour late and the food was luke warm when it arrived, we had to call maybe 10 times before we got a response from them asking where our food was and only when we said that we were fuming did they apologise. Maybe it’s different eating in but I don’t recommend ordering from this restaurant.

Been here a few times now. Staff are great, always friendly and happy to help. Food is also well cooked and lovely. I would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be returning.

If you follow any of my reviews, you will know I love Indian cuisine/takeaways! This place was recommended to me while I was in the area. It did NOT disappoint! We had the Tikka Masala and madras... 2 pretty common dishes... but my gosh, were they better than what I have at home! The gentleman on the phone was polite... the food came fast and was hot/fresh. It was top-notch 👌 What was crazy was that it was such good value for money! In the North West where I am from, the prices are crazy and the food is good... but not this nice! Thank you, and if I'm ever here again, I will be back... but as don't leave yet I may get another order in! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Meal for two - great portion rice and main curries well cooked and delicious. Nan breads delivered hot and soft. Spiced Pickle tray four pots full of flavour. Enjoy meal for two and would recommend - good to reasonable price for great quality… well done team.

They delivered the wrong order,one order was for a vegetarian dish and was sent a fish dish!! They sent out the veg curry but this was the worst curry I have ever tasted,the veg was frozen veg! The whole meal was disappointing,had to leave nearly all of it,absolute waste of money.

Food was nice but the lamb in the curry was abit tough, keema rice was lovely as I’ve never had it before. Took the delivery driver over half hour from a restaurant 5 minutes driver away to deliver the food so it was abit cold. Portion sizes are good as is the prices
