I cannot fault the excellent food from the Gurkha Tandoori. The food is slightly different in taste to the traditional Indian takeaway but only because of small changes in the Nepalese way of cooking these dishes. Try it, I am sure you will like it.

Delivery was very slow, food delivered was wrong and the food that was correct was not very nice! Wouldn't use again!

Ordered at 1805. Delivery ASAP. Time offered 1900. Delivered at 2014 after phone call to Gurkha Tandoori. Not impressed as they said order for 1930. Even so still 45mins late!!! dennis

This place has just become our favourite take away in the area. This was second time we ordered. Rani Chicken was amazing, I wish they made it a main dish. Balt lamb was delicious and tender.

Absolutely let down. Didn't even turn up and claimed they didn't get my order. Never again. Rang just eat who confirmed that they had accepted the order but restaurant claimed they didn't get it. Wasted 2 hours waiting and ended up with no meal. Joke

Delicious range of food, absolutely stuffed myself! Lots of distinction in the taste and texture. Love it and would definitely go back. The only think that could have been a bit better was the Roti but overall really impressed.

Probablemente no sentarse para tener una comida como el lugar necesita en serio renovación, es desalentador y poco atractivos. Sin embargo, la comida es para morirse. Siempre pedimos para llevar o entrega. Este hotel es una pequeña joya, la cocina única de Nepal en la zona. Estoy cansado de Tikka masala poxy estándar de seguridad todos los lugares al otro lado de la carretera vender. Me encanta opción de media ración, lo que significa que se puede probar platos más.

Ordered around 19:40 delivery was supposed to be 20:25 but then it got changed to 20:55, which I gave the benefit of the doubt because they may have been busy, food then didn't get delivered till around 21:10, delivery driver apologised, we then realised that they had forgot to put chips I ordered in with our food, rang them up woman said "she forgot, she'll send some out straight away" 10mins later the chips arrived with another apology from driver. Food overall wasn't the best, I expected better from looking at other reviews and then also hearing from family who had eaten in the restaurant that it's a nice place. Portion sizes weren't the best, sorry to say I don't think I'd order from here again.

Went to pick up the food, they told me to come back in 30 minutes. When I came back it still wasn't ready. The order was wrong and cold. Very disappointed

Este es un ejemplo perfecto de decir no juez el libro por su cubierta. Mientras estoy de acuerdo apariencia y organización podría hacer con poco de trabajo. La comida es comparable a ninguno. Usted puede probar frescura incluso con el olor. Tales son los sabores de platos que si tuviera un millonario que me gustaría visitar Manchester cada semana desde Londres.

Walked in and straight away thought needs a much better extractor fan.Returned my plate on the table as it was not properly washed.Extensive menu with writing in different sizes and fonts that I found confusing.Food was very disappointing bar one of the starters that was very good.There is no attention to any detail-we were presented with a roti that was more charcoal.The waiter/owner was a lovely guy and listened to my complaints.I didn't want to write this review but the whole purpose is to help other TA members not waste their money and I felt the experience spoiled the evening with my friend.The Himalaya restaurant on stockport rd,manchester is in a completely different league-which I recommend when the owner is cooking there which is usually monday-thursday.

Great tasting good. Definitely one of the better variety on offer. Timely delivery and very pleasant delivery personnel. We would definitely recommend ordering from this place.

Fuimos a este restaurante esta noche, el exterior no es muy acogedora, pero no te desanimes. La decoración interior está en necesidad de renovación sin embargo la comida era deliciosa, fresca y sabrosa, es un negocio familiar y el camarero;madre de s hace todo el cocinar 10/10 para ella. Muy amable y hospitalario, sin duda volveremos. Si vas en un domingo por la noche es 2 4 1, teníamos dos cursos cada uno y fue 17 libras por tanto de nosotros y bebidas. Visítalo y no te decepcionará.

If you're not pushed for time, I'd recommend this restaurant.

Definitely a brilliant alternative to an Indian with a whole host of alternative flavours to enjoy. So good that I am ordering again tonight! Namaste! ;-)

Mi colega y yo les encanta la comida de aquí. Es sobre este mundo de sabores. El pan plano en forma cebolla kulcha es precioso. Va bien con el niño el cordero y el pollo.el Nepal Baltimore BWI Airport es también fantástico! cum de amigos de Wen nos orden desde aquí también porque es difícil encontrar comida como este al norte creo. Me encanta love! Ellos hav olvidado algunas cosas a veces cuando pedir, sin embargo me perdonar, ya que la comida es tan delicioso. Y siempre entregar wateva hav olvidado que en buen tiempo. olvidar cualquier casa de curry si comes después sabor, entonces este es el mejor lugar eva! Gracias gurkha. Me encanta que xxxxx

Choice and quality of food is striking, authentic-seeming Himalayan fare, freshly prepared to eat in or take away.

Tenemos una comida para llevar tandoori gurkha la mayoría de los fines de semana y nunca hemos tenido una mala. La comida es fresca y llena de sabor y auténtico. Generalmente nos dan el menú para dos, que es una gran relación calidad-precio. Incluye dos un montón de nuevos vestigios curries y lados con un par de botellas de cobra tirado, días felices. Como para cenar en el lugar probablemente podría hacer una renovación pero la comida más que lo compensa. Pruébalo tú mismo y no pagues juzgar un libro por su portada como algunos críticos han. Si lo que quieres es decoración moderna con basura refrescante que todos saben igual y luego ir a akbars o eastzeast. Si quieres probar comida sensacional.

Ordered from here as there was a variety of both vegetarian and meat dishes as my partner and me will not eat the same dishes (not just the boring vegetarian options normally available). I had the vegetable madras which was exceptional. I would also recommend paneer chilli, methi ladies fingers, bhindi and daal The staff were really friendly and helpful as i forgot to add the dietary requirements on the order and rang panicking - he sorted it out with the kitchen. The meat dishes were equally good as my partner says and this will become our go to restaurant.

Pedimos desde aquí la noche pasada. La peor comida y experiencia que hemos tenido el disgusto de tratar de comer! Pedimos en 7,45 pm se le dirá que había una 2 hora de espera para "comida" (si eso es lo que lo llaman). Esperamos hasta las 10,05 h hasta las llamadas a preguntar donde nuestro pedido. Me dieron el típico taxi firme respuesta que estaba en camino, que era un poco extraño, ya que no había en este punto les dijo que estaba o lo que había pedido. Una vez que ya habían establecido lo que habíamos pedido, me dijeron que era quizás a unos 10-15 minutos de entrega(puede un establecimiento de tales inusitadamente mala comida que ocupado o no tienen que entrar a un supermercado abierto las 24 horas para satisfacer nuestra orden? Mmmmmmm). Pregunté por descontar la comida debido al retraso y saludó desinterés completa. Resultó que tendría que negociar con la entrega conductor sobre el precio! Nos dieron una sóla llamada de dicho conductor que había perdido a pesar de que darles instrucciones claras de donde vivimos y nos llevó a 5 minutos para él para encontrarnos. Él estaba a punto de hablar con él, 30 segundos! apareció desconocen de mi conversación con un miembro del personal que luego discutir conmigo lo tarde que eran. Dado el hecho que tenía el recibo impreso en su mano cuando pedimos, me preguntaba si esto fue un fracaso común. Pedimos £27 la pena de comida y después tuve la incómoda situación de negociar un descuento con la persona francamente inútil de entrega.

I asked about a discount due to the long wait time and he said that I would need to argue this out with the delivery person(They clearly respect their staff)The delivery guy eventually called to say he was at a completely separate address despite us giving clear instructions as to how to find us. He turned up eventually with our order. I explained the situation that I had spoken to somebody at Gurkha about discounting the meal and they had said to speak to him (A rather awkward situation). We then had to work out how much I was going to pay for the meal through an impromptu bartering session (Food going colder as we speak). After agreeing a price, we took the un-labelled food out of the wrapping to find un-decipherably shocking food. Some points to note: 1. Do not order the Ryaz chilli starter. It is a sliced onion with past it's sell by date raw and ill-looking chillis. 2. If you order a Kulcha, expect to be welcomed by a dry, disheveled cumin saturated piece of cardboard. 3. If you order the Garlic Naan, expect the above in a different shape! 4. If you order Pea Methi, expect 3 or 4 Pea's with a lot of Spinach 5. If you order Paneer Chilli ( A vegetarian dish), expect it to smell and taste distinctly of chip shop fish! 6. If you order a Rogan Josh, expect a non-descript casserole with no heat or substance whatsoever! 7. If you decide to order the Karahi, expect undercooked potato (beyond al dente) and a bland taste overall. 8. If you decide to order from here, you have been warned. Ordered a takeaway on the spur of the moment, as I remembered that I'd been here over 8 years ago and was blown away.Glad to report that the food was absolutely delicious and had a truly authentic taste - instead of the mass produced westernised gunk most restaurants churn out.As well as being able to taste the fresh ingredients, another pleasing aspect was that it didn't leave you feeling bloated, as it wasn't over-laced with Ghee. A hidden gem on the A6 in Swinton and very reasonably priced.

Food was fresh, really flavoursome and the small half portions were pretty generous. Would recommend!
