Wanted t try this lace out, looked interesting, given its name, was not disappointed. Good food to eat, lots of options from various countries, all with a eastern taste..

This place is truly a hidden gem. We are visiting the area while cruising on a canal boat, and found this restaurant purely by chance. Then restaurant is sited in an assuming property on Leicester Road, but when you walk in the ambience is immediately obvious. Welcomed by the owner (as we later found out, one of 3 partners - the other two being the chefs), we were shown to a table impeccably laid. The walls are covered in an eclectic mix of photo posters showing scenes from various sites around India. Service is excellent, with a very attentive staff. The owner explained the restaurant ethos, and how it came to be - very interesting stories in themselves, but the menu is something else. A wide and varied range of dishes, around 50% of which are vegetarian, with origins ranging from Nepal in the north to Kerala in the south of India, together with an Asian wide fusion of other dishes from across the continent. On arrival the food was piping hot, and flavoured exquisitely. Spices used in authentic amounts, so the dishes were not overly spicy hot, but had a more delicate and original flavour. All of my party were more than impressed with it, more so as most of us have travelled extensively in Asia so are very aware of the difference in real Indian flavour to the westernised, often over spiced, offerings. We were given enough time to eat and rest between courses - and you do need to rest as the quantity is, shall we say, generous. Tat said, we all managed to clear our dishes, bar one of our party who asked for the half she couldn't eat to be boxed up. I wish we could persuade the owners to move to Plymouth - we would love to visit again, unfortunately, this will not be possible as we travel on tomorrow. For a taste of authentic Indian cuisine, you have to try this place. it is one of the best Indian restaurants we have come across in the UK

My boyfriend and I have been visiting Ryan’s quite a lot over the last year and last night we went with his family. Without fault, every time we go to Ryan’s we are met with friendliness and incredible hospitality combined with the most amazing Indian food. The food is always delicious and my favourite Indian restaurant by a mile. I couldn’t recommend Ryan’s enough and we will miss it so much now we have both graduated!
