Delicious food, good price, good portions, great staff.

first thing expensive place was empty no atmosphere 3 of us hardly any drinks £101 2 starters 2 currys 3 nans it use to be a good place busy its lost all its hype having to look for someone everytime u need something

One of best curry I could have find in Leicester,Uk. Specially the Himalayan king prawn and macha Modi khola even thought the staff very well knows about hospitality of a customer and did their job greatly

We were at this restaurant. Booked for 7.30 pm. As nain restaurant was busy and noisy we were given a smaller room where it was empty but freezing. The radiator which was right on other end still it was cokd room. We changed as soon as the table on the main restaurant was available. This was a better and warm . The food we ordered was enjoyable and we had a good time. There is a need of heating in a small room during winter time.

We ordered the meat sizzler, most of the chicken on there was over cooked, the seekh kebabs were bland. Fish pakoras were the only good food there. Then we had lamb and chicken kharia, lamb had too much salt in it so we told the staff, they immediately took it and reordered it for us but the replacement was chewy. Can't fault the service, staff were excellent and always willing to listen and resolve any problems. Shame about the chefs, but tbf there were a lot of people there so I can appreciate that speed over quality would be the thing they would need to do.

Not any more we have found the one we’re sticking with. Absolutely love it the food is perfect Real curry. Staff are friendly to wow. Hats off to the chefs Beautiful food. .

We had an amazing time at Gurkha Curry. We only had starters but it was really nice. I would highly recommend this place. The mixed grill, chilli chips and lollipop chicken is to die for.

Ordered paneer jalfrezi, received a non veg dish instead. Manager Hari refused any compensation / replacement due to not having drivers? Ruined a celebration dinner.

We've had a booking for the all you can eat restaurant, though the servers didn't understand that we are there for the restaurant not the bar. Otherwise, the food was great and a huge amount as well, so it was worth it.

We ordered food for 16 people as outdoor catering and Harry's service was impeccable in providing burner's to keep food warm and enough food so there was plenty to go round and above all the food was amassing. I would definitely recommend them and use there services again.

Some excellent food with a nice atmosphere. The only thing was we felt super rushed by the staff. I met some friends there and as we hadn't seen each other in 15 years we obviously got chatting away. However, the staff were really pushy to get us to order quickly.

We visited Gurkha Curry Restaurant on Kerrysdale Avenue Leicester. We ordered drinks and starter as we weren't too hungry. We were served by Hari. Our friends never been here before. So it was my first introduction to them. Our friends and we were very happy with food and drinks. The food served is fresh and hot. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We will be back soon. Booked table but they struggle to find Space , Food had no Taste , chicken wasn't fresh( it was so bad that all of decided to leave starter and not to order anything more), No staff member bother to check if we need anymore dishes, asked to take order for main course few times but no one bother to come and collect order, Waiter's were running like they were in some kind of marathon , Felt like place wasn't safe, If i could i would only give them 0 Star, If you want to go safe an hygiene place don't go, Note: Most important we all had Food poisoning from this food ,

Let me start with the food first. If you going to this restaurant then you must try Gurkhali chicken, and butter chicken. The lamb is very tender and portion size are massive. The atmosphere is very nice and Comforting along with the great serving staff. I highly recommend everyone specially for parties.

I recently visited this place for an evening meal with my friends. The food was authentic and tasted amazing. The chilli chicken and crispy began is a must when you visit. The staff are very friendly. Will definitely visit again.

Freshly cooked dishes beautifully presented, friendly service. One of the best places in Leicester to celebrate your occasion.

Quite possibly the worst place I’ve been to. Food served cold. Taken back and told we would be given a fresh dish, comes back reheated and meat like leather. We knew it was reheated as could see my teeth marks in the same bits of meat in the rubber like meat when initially served. Service also terrible. Almost like there are no staff. We called the manager and even then over half an hour later still no one to take our order. Don’t bother wasting your money coming here. It’s rubbish.

Today was my son's birthday. So we decided to visit Gurkha Curry. The service and food was well below par from previous experience to say the least. I ordered two drinks as I was early with my wife, her coke was ordered with slice of lime, the waitress brought it without. We ordered amongst other starters a sizzler, the content underneath was cold so I returned it. When it arrived the sizzler was reheated. Several times we asked two serving staff for extra serviettes yet only two handed out! Our next round of drinks took 15 minutes. Three times I tried to draw attention of the serving staff to order our mains but no response. When I did manage to draw attention it was the manager who assured me he would be back in few minutes, half hour went by but no one attended. I asked for the bill and asked to speak with the manager too when he turned up he didn't even apologise that he hadn't attended to take our order. Customer service seem to have left the building end off.

1 Star as I’m unable to give anything lower! We came for a birthday celebration, arriving at 5pm we had the restaurant to ourselves, the party included 3 under 3s who would usually dine around 5.30pm We quickly ordered drinks and starters, the service was shocking and the food poor, our fish and particularly the prawns were cold, the manager confirmed the dish would be replaced but they clearly just reheated it as I could still see the teeth marks in the food on its return. We had to constantly call for service (drinks, napkins, clear our plates and to place an order for food) By 7pm we had still not managed to pin any staff down to take our order for mains so we decided to call it quits. The food from what I tasted was below average, I wouldn’t eat here again even if you paid me.

Awful service would not recommend at all. Came here for a nice meal with the family to have some tasty and traditional food. We were seated without a menu and were not served for about 40 minutes. Once we had finally ordered, our food took at least 50 minutes to come out. Poor service and would never come here again.

Absolutely brilliant tasting curry's 👌

Used to be the Wyvern pub. Looks like its been split in 2. One side is the pub and the other is the restaurant 'The Gurkha Curry'. Its a lovely place not very big, so expect it will get busy on weekends. We went on a Wednesday night about 8pm and it was fairly empty. Food is lovely, had a mixed grill sizzler and a chicken curry. All reasonably priced and standard for this type of place. Service was quick and pleasant. Worth a try.

The curries are good, but what ruined the meal was the beer, which at £5 a pint is more expensive than in town, and no where near as good. Stay clear of alcohol here

First visit tonight, so impressed! The momo are phenomenal, the sauce it comes with is so good you can eat it with a spoon! What a gem of a restaurant, we really enjoyed our curry and cannot wait to try the rest of the menu. Fantastic view of the stunning temple too 💚

a group of us go to a different places to eat good indian food and have a laugh - we have visited almost all places in Leicester, however Gurkha Curry was my first - we had the best food ever, the masala and taste was perfect, the food was plentiful and cooked perfectly. what I was very impressed with was that when the food arrived we did not see any oil or oil spills as you see in most Indian restaurants. Food we ordered was masala fish, veggie and non veg chicken sizzler, chicken tawa = Amazing and we are going back this week

Been a couple of times and thought the food was excellent. There are lots of Indian pubs around Leicester, many of them are excellent but the flavours here do stand out as being unique. Keep up the great work.

Food was very tasty. Flavours are suitable for Indian taste buds. We ordered chicken lollipop and Gurkha chicken curry and both the dishes were good in taste.

I took takeway Order was not accurate. Fish fingers was too much oil and they gave old chips for child . Very costly. Portion was very small according to price .

I came here with my family for an evening meal that we never ended up having. We were taken to our table but we waited over 15 minutes just to be given menus and asked for our drinks order. It took a further amount of time to receive our drinks and one of the drinks ordered was no longer available but none of the staff thought to inform us of this. It was only when I asked why my Auntie had not received her drink did they respond saying that it was no longer available. We considered ordering our food but we ended up waiting too long to even get our drinks that we paid and left and went to eat elsewhere. I am truly disappointed by this service we received as the orders for takeaway were being dealt with quicker than the customers sat in the restaurant. This is not a restaurant that I would come to again. There was no hospitality, no one came to ask us for our drinks order or food order until we had asked and even then, this was after us asking many times. We were not the only ones who were waiting long but it was a shame we had to wait as long as we did.

Seating seems quite dull but the food was good with big portions.

We had their yummy salt and pepper chicken starter with methi chicken on the bone curryand garlic naan.. The chicken was not at all dry and was full of flavour.. Their garlic naan is thin and crispy making me drool for another.. Special South Indian style paneer curry and Chef Raj's special fish curry was perfect, delicious, non oily and perfect to the pallate. I would highly recommend gurkha curry at wyvern..

Worst food I ordered in Leicester. Chicken lollipop was just chicken wings fried in simple batter without any schezwan sauce etc. Their dishes as they named does not resemble the actual dish at all. WOULDN'T RECOMMEND.

Average not great. Fell ill after having the tawa chicke. Mixed Grill on the other hand was good.
