Such a lovely building & staff work hard but food is awful unless it’s summer garden bar food. Went for a Christmas party night this December, the DJ was awful, like a comedy sketch with loud inaudible mumbling & the music was dreadful & cliche; Please get someone new & good in to do the parties. The card reader wasn’t working in the bar either which was a pain & staff grumpy with it. The joke of the night was ‘how can anyone make soup taste so bland - we had to look up what it was! Please sort out your food.

We’ve been to Gupshill Manor twice this year, the first time back in May where we went for an mid-week evening meal which was, quite obviously, not homemade but prepacked/frozen which had been heated up or fried and not at all pleasant. We’d hoped that was a one-off and tried again for Sunday lunch. Again, this was prepacked and heated up meat (the beef was particularly chewy) and the ‘Nut’ roast was Sage & Onion stuffing with a couple of chopped nuts thrown in, with gelatinous instant gravy. The building is lovely and the seating areas are comfy and cosy…just don’t go there for the food!

I'd just like to say a few words regarding the service that we received at Gupshill Manor. We booked up a meal for 64 people (including the driver) as a nice finale to our day trip to Bath Christmas Market. Obviously, to book up with such numbers, it has taken lots of preparations by the hotel and the visiting group. All along, the response from the venue has been second to none. The quality of food was also second to none. I would highly recommend this venue as a group booking or even just a few friends.

I came here for a birthday lunch with my family. The food was delicious and the pub itself has a good atmosphere and is very spacious. The only criticism I have is it was quite cold but this is probably down to it being such an old building.

Having spent the day visiting Tewkesbury we decided to eat on the way back to Gloucester.. as we had passed the Gupshill manor on the way in, it was chosen to call in on our return journey … Now I’m Coeliac so I have to be careful with the food I choose.. the menu gave many options to have a gluten free meal .. the friendly barman asked me if it was an allergy or coeliac which immediately impressed me. I asked the usual question were the chips gluten free? He went and checked with the kitchen , they were and the oil had been changed that day also the chef had some GF flour and would make some GF batter if I wanted fish and chips … well that took care of my meal furthermore the chef made some GF tartar sauce to go with it ! Five of us sat down to a splendid meal to suit each of our tastes and we were all happy with what we had. The bar staff were friendly, helpful and cheerful. The price was reasonable, the atmosphere warm and inviting.. highly recommended

A few days ago we made a reservation because we were hosting some long-term military friends while they were in the area. We thought the menu was very good, covering most dietary needs and offering many choices. As many restaurants and pubs in the area are closed on Mondays, we were delighted to find they were free and had such a varied menu. On arriving, we noticed the main restaurant was empty apart from a book club meeting, so we thought the service should be exemplary. We commented jokingly to a staff member if he could light the candle on the table to enhance its ambiance, which he did. He commented that they did not normally light the candle due to a lack of customers, lol. We duly ordered starters, then three steaks (with chips), and a roast dinner (pork). We asked for various condiments, mustard, ketchup, and apple sauce. Eventually, they came (very slowly) and I mean very slowly, and the apple sauce comprised a teaspoon of sauce only and a small pot of ketchup, just enough for one person with chips, but there were three of us with chips!! Our guest asked for more gravy as very little was served with the meal. Eventually, all arrived. We found on receiving the bill that they had charged £1 for the extra gravy(we have never been charged for extra gravy on a Sunday)! Had we asked for extra pork, that would have been acceptable but we had not. We also learned that at no time even on a weekend, crackling is not served, which we thought very strange as every establishment we know of provides this, so it questions is a roast joint rather than pork pieces, probably left over from the weekend! The duty manager’s reaction although polite was a tad aggressive as he did not appreciate any adverse comments. I suggest that as they have the upper hand on a Monday evening it should be a gold mine as little competition locally because most are closed on a Monday! The fact the restaurant was empty now speaks volumes. We have been to the Manor on numerous occasions over the past 25 years but this was the worst experience that we have had. Needless to say, we have NEVER had problems with the staff or the establishment (the Manor that is) on a traditional Sunday lunch we will NOT return on a weekday for some time to come. We regards to food and ambience (even during the week) they should take a line from the other establishments not far from the Manor, such as Gloucester Old Spot, The New Dawn, and The Queens Head and not forgetting the Swan at Coombe Hill all of which, we visit often with no issues!

I went as a party of 4 for Sunday Lunch . Very quick to take our drinks order and food order which was 4 of the roast diners . Food came out really quickly but we were a third of the way through our meal before the drinks arrived which we had to chase. The mixed veg was bought to the table and the swede was completely cold . Replaced quickly with an apology .Got the impression they were understaffed - Large portions and food was good . Pudding over priced - 2 scoops of sorbet for £7.95.

We had a great early Dinner, and the Lunch Menu runs until at least 6pm. This was perfect for us, as lighter food was actually what suited us. We had a great, well presented Ploughman’s, which was very generous. We also had a couple of differing wraps. Again, delicious, well filled, good presentation, served with side salad and fries. Tasty coffee too. Lovely large carpark and plenty of outside seating, for sunny days.

Lunch on a sunny day. £30 for a ploughman’s and loaded chips with overcooked steak on. Ploughman’s was more like a plate your nan had knocked up. The loaded chips were far from loaded. Asked for rare steak but got well done. Grass outside was a jungle, the odd window smashed. Gents toilets are in desperate need of some maintenance. Urinals Leaking over the floor. This could be a great place but needs plenty of TLC and the lunch menu prices are too expensive.

Went for our anniversary, hadn’t been before, precooked, always liked the look of the place when we drove past. On arriving, went to table, hubby had to go up and ask for drinks, staff chatting to each other behind the bar. The starter of bread and olives was served with no side plates, oil dripping on clothes. Steak was amazing, but chips dry. When main arrived, the member of staff walked away without asking if any sauces were required, had to call them back to ask for mustard etc.

We have driven past Gupshill Manor several times but decided today to pop in for lunch. Big mistake! The staff were obliging and pleasant, but the food was awful. My husband ordered steak which was on the tough side, I ordered battered fish and chips with peas. Although presented nicely, the peas were not cooked, the chips were luke warm and the fish was horrible. The batter was not cooked …. very wet inside, and the fish was grey. Would definitely not recommend and will not be returning.

The food here was good (roast dinner) and dessert (brownie) but fairly pricey for a pub. It’s let down by it being cold inside/slightly aged decor (red leather chairs or wicker chairs) and a need for some tlc on the outside. Staff were friendly but for the cost- needs a little something more.

We called in for a late Sunday lunch as the pub looked lovely from the outside. The inside is nice and old worldly looking. We both ordered the beef. The meat, potatoes and Yorkshire pudding came out quite quickly and the waitress said she’d bring the vegetables. After a bit of a wait we started to get concerned that the meat would be getting cold. A lady laying up nearby tables noticed us waiting and went to get the vegetables and extra gravy for us. The meat and potatoes by this time had got a bit cold. The beef was tough and the ‘roast’ potatoes were barely roasted and not properly cooked in the middle. The veg and gravy were the best part of the meal, the baby carrots were especially nice. I would not eat here again which is such a shame as the ambiance of the pub was lovely

Waiters were pleasant enough but the food was very mediocre. 4 shop bought battered prawns with a mayonaise dip for £7.45 is a complete joke! Tastless ans oily too! The beef in our burgers was ok but the rest was inedible. Chips were cold and tasted like they had been sitting there for quite a while. We were never offered for our drinks to be topped up and the most outrageous for me is the empty plates being taken whilst other people at the table are still eating! The last person felt rushed and ended up leaving food as everyone's plates had gone. It's rude! Will not return nor recommend to anyone.

Sunday Lunch started off poorly when we arrived to be told they had no record of our booking. We were looking forward to the carvery, and despite being asked how we liked the beef cooked, it arrived all looking exactly the same (grey) with uniform slices. The ‘roast’ potatoes were like cardboard, and Yorkshire puddings were old, and tasteless. The chef (if one exists) obviously doesn’t taste his own food, or needs to look for a new career. I’m sure the microwave gets a lot of use here. Young members of staff look miserable with no people skills, and never smile. I offered my feedback to the person in charge at the end of the meal (no one asked us how the food was during the meal), and a discount was offered. Won’t be returning.

What an awful experience!! I was looking forward to a lovely Sunday lunch with some friends. The whole place really has gone downhill. Only 1 staff member above the age of 18 (or so it seemed) and those who were under are clearly trained poorly and are rude! Food was really below average and prices way to high for what you get. Potatoes are tasteless and definitely not roasted. Customer service at the bar was non existent and the main thing that really looked unprofessional was the girl (general manager maybe? Staff seemed to be going to her a lot) wearing JUST a “long” T-shirt to work. Clearly no shorts underneath and looks like a nightdress. Absolute mess. Definitely will not be returning! From the moment walked into the place the staff were friendly, attentive, professional and efficient. Struggling with dogs in tow to settle in our seat the staff offered to get drinks and bring to the table which was a real help and appreciated. The food was delicious, huge portions and delivered quickly.... couldn't find any fault with food or again service....well above average and beyond expectations. Nothing throughout the evening was too much trouble and often the thoughtfulness of the staff made the customer service here excel above even the poshest restaurants or hotels I've visited in the past. I really can't commend them enough from the bar to the kitchen it was excellence and a real pleasure to spend the evening here. Only fault I could find was... I live too far away (3hrs) so can't have it as my local!!! But if you're in Tewkesbury, passing Tewkesbury or within reach of Tewkesbury in an hour....then put Gupshill Manor....in your sat nav favourites! Food Everything was perfect. I was especially impressed that you were offered a choice of how you would like your beef (pink or medium well). The Yorkshire pudding and the gravy had a lot of flavour and it was a good sized portion when accompanied...

What a disappointment. The salmon was so dry it was difficult to swallow without a drink with it and the chicken was so hard it was nigh on impossible to cut with a knife so was left on the plate. Nice place, awful food

Had a really nice lunch here with my wife. We didn't have a booking and even though they were quite busy managed to fit us in. Menu was typical pub grub. Food was nice quality and very well presented. Service was excellent. Covid 19 protocols for hand sanitising and social distancing etc were very good and felt safe. Amazing value for money. Would recommend to others.

We received a warm welcome and it was very informative, parking was free and we enjoyed a lovely evening meal but the room was very dark being on the back which we weren’t bothered about at first but the lighting was inadequate to make up for it! The shower was fine but the beds were terrible we had the most awful sleep 😔 we didn’t mention it to reception as it was only one night and therefore there would be little they could do about it, so this review is the best place for the comments

This review for Badham Pharmacy at Aspen medical centre. Really needs to train staff. I would give O star as staffs were V v rude. There were two young ladies in front, one with light blue frame glasses and another one with silver nose pin, they were shouting to me for no reason even I did not ask how long I need to wait for prescription, I was just in queue and was noticing them their work and they were showing much attitude to customers and were arrogant. I had two another customers waiting in queue for prescription and Badham Pharmacy staff were taunting me by looking at me that we will have to wait as people are going to McDonald's and KFC they obviously wait for half an hour so they will wait here as well. Even though my prescription basket was ready, I was looking that for appox 15 minutes and she was not giving to me. When I remind her basket is ready and it is there she said you have to wait as I am busy with another things. Why????? Even if, it is in front of customers how long it will take to give customers. They made me wait for so long. Such a ridiculous ladies. No manners to behave with customers. If doctor hadn't sent my prescription there I would have never go this Badham Pharmacy. Moreover she was expecting thank you from me, when i didn't thank her she was shouted " excuse me say thank you " Thank you my foot to such staff.

Fusty smell around the hotel. Yes it was really cheap, but the noise from other rooms is so loud we won't be getting any sleep anyway so may as well not have bothered.
