Can see the shop has closed down...and aren't paying baristas who worked for them. Poor form.

Now only open for 'private events' (men smoking inside, drinking and shouting till 4am :/...). Nice daytime staff all gone. What a shame.

Nice little cafe with a small but delicious menu. Got a chai latte and within a few sips it was done, the cups in which they’re served are quite small so you’re not getting the best value for money. It’s also quite dark in there, so if you don’t sit by the windows at the front it does feel a little like a cave in there. Would be a nice place to work during the day if it wasn’t so dark.

Damn fine food here! Dog friendly, great tunes, bright and airy. Service is fun and friendly and the Chipotle beans and homemade corn bread is the breakfast you never knew you needed! Fab place!

Initially tried Ground and Grapes for a business meeting and now we are regulars! Every time we visit we are greeted with fantastic service and unbelievable food! I would highly recommend to anyone. The team are wonderful and clearly very passionate about their menu. I honestly couldn't pick a favourite dish, and I've tried pretty much all of them!!

We probably caught it on a bad day - wet and autumnal - but the experience not as good as we hoped. Very agreeable barman but several bar flies at the bar, clearly there for the session. Quite a male atmosphere and a tad clique-y. I was with a male pal so didn't mind so much but I wouldn't come with my partner on this evidence. Music was also overly loud, unnecessarily so, and at times quite aggressive sounding. Wish the place well but do feel it needs to be more inclusive and receptive to passing trade, who need a reason to come back. We tried it because the Two Spoons nearby was closed and interested to see if it was a place worth frequenting. I recognise it's a tough gig - the place needs the revenue from regulars but also needs to be welcoming to strangers, not an easy balance. It's probably different at other times of the day - as other reviewers indicate.

My favourite local brunch spot. I'm so lucky to have this cosy brunch place on my doorstep. Honestly just walking past this restaurant with the gorgeous seasonal floral installations is enough for me to be in love with Grounds and Grapes. I've visited multiple times with my partner and friends and the food is always perfection. I highly recommend the Turkish Eggs and hot chocolate! Staff are always so friendly and everyone is welcoming. It's easy to book a table for brunch via opentable I wish there was a dinner menu - I've never tried the cocktails but I'd highly recommend this as a great brunch spot in SE London. Have to visit again soon x

Had a wonderful breakfast here today. The staff were lovely. Really friendly. The interior and exterior are both really cool. The food was gorgeous. I had scrambled eggs & feta cheese on sourdough, and added salmon. My partner had the same, but with Parma ham. Generous portion, but not too much. Presentation and taste was lovely. Loved the pesto mixed with the eggs. Definitely will go back

Coffee is overpriced and just meh also poor customer service. The indoor place is very stuffy and the staff gave me a rude impression. I don't know if it's just my experience or what but was my second visit and it was the same, I'll never go back.

Love this place. For Saturday brunch or a quick coffee on the go G&G is my go-to in Honor Oak (great service too!) The Turkish eggs alone are worth a visit!

G&G is my most favourite local brunch (and cocktail!) spot with just the funniest, friendliest staff (kudos to Kas and Alex for brightening up my mornings!). I come there almost every day and it feels like my second home now - I've made so many local friends! Great vibes and customer service come with a great brunch menu too: my absolute favourite is shakshuka, but there is salmon bagel, sourdough avo toasts, frittatas etc too - all freshly made and delish. SE23 would not be the same without you <3

We happened upon this place by happy accident. Clean, tidy and friendly. Great coffee and the food was top notch too. The staff were very helpful and if I am ever back in the area I will be having the Shakshuka again!

So where do I start? Recently moved from East Dulwich to Honor Oak in search of pastures new. After sampling several local bars, I stumbled upon The Grapes as I have fondly renamed it Nester welcomed me with a smile and served a nice pint of IPA a few pints later the rest is what they call history. If you want to go to a place that's full of yummy mummy's with kids running around, get charged half your salary for two drinks and a packet of crisps then East Dulwich is the place for you. However, if you want an evening of quality cocktails, great beer with a real relaxed and amazing atmosphere, then make your next night out at The Ground and Grapes. The brunch food was good (and inventive), coffee very nice but the service wasn’t the best and staff made it feel like you were disturbing them if asking for something.

Would have loved to have tried this place. Stopped by at 9:30 on a Sunday, the place was completely empty with just three staff. We were turned away and told they were fully booked.... I don't know whether they didn't like the look of us, or if capitalism is just lost on them... Went to two spoons next door which was nearly full but they were happy to make room for us.

Such a lovely place. Great atmosphere. Where you can just relax and converse. Easily accessible too. The owner sincerely makes you feel welcomed. Highly recommend.

I was having very intense morning already week ago when decided to pop in for coffee and relax a bit. Lady that was serving me made me feel very comfortable and I had an absolute divine cappuccino while sitting outside. Calm and relaxing vibe, even tho inside was pretty much full of morning coffee fans with their laptops on. Good spot in my new neighbourhood. I definitely will know where to get a nice coffee locally now.

Visited for brunch yesterday. Very friendly and attentive staff. We were recommended the Turkish eggs and were really glad we ordered it, as it is an excellent dish. We will certainly be visiting again.

We hired G&G for a private hire to celebrate our recent engagement and so say we were impressed with this venue is an understatement. They were beyond attentive, organised, friendly, polite, fun, welcoming... the list goes on. My family and friends have all raved about how nice the venue was and how lovely the staff were- could not recommend enough if you are looking for a small intimate party with great drinks. Only been here in the evening when it's working as a bar but this place is awesome. Lester is the most welcoming and skilled barman you could ask for, an expert in his trade he makes all the customers feel welcome. The quality of cocktails is excellent, the rum old fashioned especially, but most of all it's the vibe and atmosphere in the bar that makes it so great. Chilled but fun, the cocktails are great value and make you stay for more. I can't recommend it enough.

I’ve been here a few times now. Food is always great. Today my coffees came very slowly - others who came after got their food before I got my coffee. But! They spotted it without me saying anything and I got my coffees on the house without asking because of the delay. It happens, but the gesture was really appreciated and the food was great. Good food and they seem to care. I’ll go again soon. 👍

Really nice looking venue good music but very small. Also lack of investment meant the place had maybe 15 customer but was around 35 degrees. AC vent in ceiling but it was not being used either broken or lack of common sense meant it was not being used. It ashame as I liked the venue and music but will not go there again. Management sort it out. It a bar not a sauna.

Tasty food and a friendly team there. We had pesto scrambled eggs which were really good, as was the smoked salmon with whipped ricotta on rye bread. Drinks nice too. Have a few tables on the pavement at the front.

Six of us went for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. Trendy cafe in Honor Oak, with a relaxed atmosphere. Friendly and accommodating staff.

Really disappointed. I booked a table for brunch at the weekend to meet up with family who travelled into London to visit. After waiting for around an hour and repeatedly asking if we could order food, we were eventually told the kitchen was closing due to the cafe being too busy. We had to leave hungry and disappointed, though they did offer us coffee on the house.

Horrendous service and no food. My daughter booked a table for a family brunch. After some time we were eventually asked for drinks order. Then about 45 mins later after third time of asking if we could order food we were told the kitchen would be shut for 30 minutes. We asked for the manager and he said he couldn’t guarantee when kitchen would open again. We were told we were a big party (5 people) and it would be difficult to serve us. Interestingly table of 2 next to us had also waited similar time and were told about the kitchen closure and also decided to leave. Shame as the menu looked good and we were looking forward to it.

Went for cocktails with my wife, really friendly staff, great service and the cocktails were fantastic. I think it might have been the best cocktail menu i'd ever seen, just a personal thing, i really wanted to try everything on the menu.

Arrived - and had to wait for a while to be seated – had to catch someones attention to ask where our reserved table was. Sat at the table for 15 minutes with no menus so made the decision to go and collect ourselves from the bar. Ordered food and coffees, food arrived (no one later checked if the food was okay) but no coffees arrived as they forgot to write order down. Had to re-order them a second time. They didn’t have the ingredient needed for one of the dishes but said they could replace it with something else (which was fine). We then ordered a second coffee - again didn't receive and had to go up to the bar to ask for this to be made (was beginning to think if they were winding us up as we could see the waitress writing down the second coffee order). When the bill came I was informed that I would have to pay the full price for the dish I ordered (which didn’t have the key ingredient of salmon as they had ran out of this) and would also have to pay extra for the replacement item (parma ham) – tried to argue with the waitress that I was essentially paying for the salmon which I didn’t receive. Was told that there was nothing they would do and that it couldn’t be changed. In summary, the food was great, however, the service ruined the whole experience, won’t be visiting for brunch again. Final note, serve spoons with the coffee, I had to use the base of my fork to add/stir the table sugar in my coffee.

Massive shout out to the owner, who was very friendly and knowledgable about the wines on offer. (Amazing also to cross paths in Victoria the following day!) Both the white and red I had were excellent! I did not eat there but would be open to so doing for my next visit…but overall, a SE London gem!!

Good food, decent prices, fast service.

Didn’t realise how limited the menu was until we already sat down and settled, they basically only do a few toastier and avocado on toast mid week. Suspect they offer a lot more at the weekend. Anyway sandwiches were dreadful, tiny and not very tasty at all. Also took over 30 mins to bring out despite then being empty. Very disappointing .

I just went there for brunch and everything was embarrassing. Service was completely rushed, cutlery were dirty and the food tasteless, greasy and the combinations of spices completely wrong. Such a shame because the location is really nice. I’m sorry for leaving one star as I rarely do it but to be honest I would have preferred a can of beans in tomato sauce from Heinz rather then what has been brought to our table.

I do rarely leave a review with 1 star but I am really disappointed about this place. The floor staff was clearly rushing the service and it was obvious that they did not know what they were doing. Food was less than avarage, burnt and lava temperature coffee... They gived me dirty cutlery and not even bothered to change it for me so I had to eat without the fork. They did not even gived me tap water which I asked for twice. Really sorry guys but I do not understand how people can leave more than 2 stars in this place.. they have a great location and they could create a really nice business but defenitely not like that.

Everything myself and my family have tried on the menu has been absolutely delicious and so fresh. The coffee and hot chocolate is also lovely. Staff always make us feel welcome and dog friendly. One of my favourite places.

EL MEJOR AVO EN TOSTADA QUE HE TENIDO⁣ ⁣ ¿Aguacate en trozos sobre masa madre tostada con tomates confitados al romero? desde un lugar muy lindo cerca de la estación de Honor Oak Park ⁣ Honestamente, esto fue 10/10, no me puedo quejar. El aguacate estaba tan perfectamente maduro, y el condimento estaba a punto, sal, pimienta y aceite de oliva, tan simple pero tan delicioso. Y los tomates, no sé cómo lo hicieron, pero vaya. Ah, y había TRES trozos de masa madre, no como los tacaños Bills que te dan avo del día anterior con dos patéticos trozos de pan. ⁣ Este plato costó 7 y valió la pena cada centavo. Servicio super amable también.

Lovely little wine bar in the evenings. Really busy on a Friday evening, and a nice atmosphere. Very friendly bar staff. Short but decent wine list and some lovely cocktails. Particularly enjoyed the white port and tonic.

Delicious coffee - the best iced coffee of the summer! Cute spot to stop and catch up with friends. Food was good (recommend the fritatta!) but such a limited menu during the week meant I will come back at the weekend next time.
