The Greyhound in Lewisham

We came at 6:45pm and the meal came at 20:40. and cold. Lucky Rafael was very nice and offer more drink. Fish & chip cold my Caesar salade with chicken 3 pieces with 1 bone. I wont recommender to eat.

Had lunch with a friend here today the week before Christmas. It was super busy and the reason I am writing the review is to congratulate the staff. They were polite, friendly, efficient despite having to weave between tables to serve food and drink. Despite me being sceptical that the food 'wouldn't be up to much', my fish and chips were absolutely fine and my friend's sea bass likewise. Congratulations to the whole team.

No great experience. After I finished my food, I found 2 strand of hair on my plate. I told the staff and I was offered a discount, however only the service charge was removed from the bill, which is optional anyway.

Thank you to Jessica and all the team for making our wedding celebration so special. We can not thank you enough for the excellent service and food that you provided. Everyone of our party had an excellent time and the venue was perfect. A special thank you to Rafael that was looking after us all night. Me and my partner had a series of unforgettable nights there during our stay in Sydenham. We ate, drank beer, and ordered many cocktails. The latter ones could use a bit of improvement. When a certain bartender was on shift, the cocktails were spot on! Otherwise... well. Overall, it is a great place which we're looking forward to visiting again, and again!

Absolutely pi## poor service, sat at a table and then just waited, wouldn't have been so bad,if the restaurant was busy but there were only two other families in the dining area.Stop coming here a year ago due to bad service and nothing has changed, very disappointing. Went elsewhere in the end, staff didn't seem when we gave our table away.

The upstairs function room was a great venue for our 30 strong family group as we celebrated a big birthday. Children and adults alike enjoyed excellent dishes and drinks served with a friendly calm professionalism by Jessica. Nothing was too much trouble for her. And all on a very busy Sunday service. Impressive.

Used to be great before change of owners. I live locally to the greyhound and this pub is such a staple in Sydenham. Perfect for lunch/dinner with family and friends, Sunday roasts or a few pints! The staff are super friendly and the pub itself has a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. Thanks guys!

The servers went out of their way to accommodate our large party. The food was delicious, the fish was crispy and light, the pork belly was unbeatable. Everything was better than expected. I fully recommend it, it was delightful.

Great service at the Greyhound but the service charge doesn’t go to the staff as tips, and cash tips don’t go to them either. Pretty bad. Won’t be going there again.

I lived in Sydenham for four years and this place was always derelict so the fact that it is now a beautiful pub serving great beer and food makes me very happy. It looks fantastic and the staff are awesome too.

My friends and I took part in a brilliantly led and enjoyable quiz at this pub. Unfortunately we were underwhelmed by the table service and the food though. The pork ribs I ordered were difficult to cut and were not flavourful (though one of our party, who has plainer tastes, had no complaints about his order of ribs.) I ordered truffle chips that were absolutely not worth the upgrade: The portion size was small and I felt that that very little truffle oil was used. Our designated driver found that the choice of non-alcoholic drinks was limited. Service: Our plates were not cleared promptly, and we were not offered drinks after our initial order was taken (I appreciate that this is a pub though. We ordered additional drinks at the bar.) We were dismayed not to have been offered the opportunity to order dessert before the kitchen closed. We were not even advised of what time the kitchen closed, so that we could order more before it did. Staff were friendly though. All in all, I'd come back for the entertainment. This isn't a pub for foodies.
