I have never given a perfect score in my reviews, but this establishment is deserving of one. Despite the fact that they were about to close, the kind staff accommodated us and allowed us to dine in. The service was exceptional, with the staff being extremely attentive. This cafe is without a doubt the best in Bury, and even the sandwich was exceptional.

Had a flat white and it was spot on! The food is always class and usually opt for the cheese toastie ❤️ Also the introduction of the gift board is a beautiful thing in times like these. Wanted a coffee while waiting for the shops to open - best flat white I'd had in a long time and the avo, tomato and feta on sourdough was delicious, guy behind counter was sound too. Top it off was expecting it to be about £10 but was shocked at how good value it was at £6.50. Will be returning.

Another great lunch at Ground Up. One of my favourite spots in Bury. They do a wide range of sandwiches on really nice bread well packed with delicious fillings. Lots of different drinks to go with the food too. Today I had roast vegetables with houmous, previously had smoked salmon and cream cheese and my first encounter was a delicious chicken sandwich that they heated up for me. Service is always good, can't recommend it highly enough. Also there's plenty of sockets around the cafe if you wanted to work from here for the day.

Very nice. But no Tuna, it was only 12:30pm. Asked for a toasty with brown bread and only white was available because the the brown bread falls to bits apparently on the toaster. Took ages aswell and the area we sat to eat hadn't been wiped clean and I got a sticky patch caused by what I believed to be a currant on my very expensive jacket. I wouldn't let it put me off the place though.

We had coffee which is always on point and the food is so good I couldn’t decide between a tostie or the soup of the day so I opted for both and I wasn’t sorry my partner did the same also. Went in today with my partner and baby in pram. As soon as we walked in to the virtually empty cafe (one other couple in) the you g girl behind the counter barked at the other couple to make space for our pram. Then asked me to move my pram out of the wide space to allow for a queue. You could have fit a double buggy in the space left next to my pram. She was horrible. Shouldn’t be working in a customer facing role. Won’t go back. Not family friendly. It was also completely dead compared to Bloom next door where we usually go but there was no tables in bloom as it was so busy (speaks for itself) so we went to Wax and Bean round the corner and as soon as we walked in we were greeted with a smile and they couldn’t do more to accommodate our pram even though they were also busy. Funnily enough Ground up was still really quiet at 12.30 and again at 1.45 🤣🤣 not sure where this imaginary 2m wide 5m long queue were.

Found this place by chance as i used to frequent Wetherspoons but since they treated their staff the way they did during Covid I’ve swore I’d never step foot in there again. So i popped in here 5 weeks ago and I’ve been a regular ever since. It’s not the biggest coffee bar but its fresh food and efficient Service and friendly staff make you feel right at home. I opt for the Soup which is always piping hot and the toasties are a must so its a meal deal of a soup and a toasty which sorts me out for lunch every day. And their choice of fresh made cakes is an added bonus and they make a good excuse to have these with a nice cup of coffee or a pot of tea . They also have back ground music playing which is a must for me and you can a lot about a eatery by the state of the toilets and here the toilets are spotless which is a good sign for me. The two young ladies and the young lad behind the counter are very polite and friendly and the Managers sound he ordered me a loaf of sour dough as I remarked how fresh and tasty the bread was , so if your in the area and you fancy a cup of soup and a cup of tea / coffee with a piece of cake Ground Up is the place to Visit. 10/10

Genuinely terrible service on the Saturday afternoon we visited. Not a friendly face to be had. At one point every single table had dirty plates and cups on whilst the young girls behind the counter slouched over chatting. The drum & bass music being pumped out seemed an odd choice given it was the 21st December and the main clientele was Santa Special and Christmas pantomime. Someone even asked if they couldn't put Christmas music on which was ignored. Food was ok to be fair, and the price reasonable. But not a warm welcoming environment at all. - also no kids menu, not a lot suitable for a toddler. The owner wants to look at the shambles hes got working a Saturday for them, they couldn't care any less.
