Lovely place, nice decor and food and drink options.

We go to Hollands every week and it is fab. The eggs benedict is delicious and all the cakes are home made. Lovely place with really friendly staff.

This was my first visit to The Bower and I was really impressed. The food was great, the staff lovely, and my dog was made welcome too.

Advertised as open until 10pm, but I was turned away at 8pm and told by the staff 'he was closing up'

Awesome place for a few drinks with family or friends day or evening. Great food in chilled surroundings.

What a great find! A cosy little place, with a lovely atmosphere and friendly service. The menu is short but everything is home cooked and both our choices were absolutely delicious...a hot smoked salmon nicoise salad board and yesterday's special of slow cooked brisket, caramelised onions, apple wood smoked cheese and garlic mayo ciabatta...with a pot of gravy on the side. We will definitely be back, and would highly recommend The Bower for food and drinks.

Welcoming, Vibrant, Clean and now upgraded with modern decor and restructured layout giving a more spacious open plan feel. A new more modern menu that caters to a more sophisticated palette, with a surprisingly affordable price point. Excellent service and tasty food all served up in one of the most promising new ventures in Holcombe.

More than a cafe,small menu but well done, good veggie choice, reasonable prices,clean,welcoming staff and good coffee and alcohol available,will return.

Lovely place, went for lunch. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I loved the atmosphere of the place, I sat in the window seats and it was so nice. I had the Korean Stack which they made vegan for me - it was delicious, I wanted something tasty that wasn’t the same old avo & toast which is normally the standard vegan option - they said as the food is freshly cooked they could just adjust anything on the menu for me - will definitely be going back ❤️

Can’t rate the food as only stopped for drinks. But the menu and food we saw looked very good. A fairly new place for a drink. (Used to be a cafe) Unfortunately they had run out of rosé wine but had a lovely glass of white wine instead. Friendly service, lovely decor inside. It was a sunny day so we sat outside. Will return.

The Tuesday night deal was incredible a sharing board which was plenty for 2 and bottle of wine for around £30 in total. We had the hot smoked salmon which we loved and it came with a range of accompanying items such as salad, olives, potatoes and bread. Food was amazing and the pina coladas are by far the best I’ve ever had

Lovely friendly staff, this was our 3rd visit 2 for a lovely bottle of wine ans dish of olives but this was the first one for food. My partner is gluten free and I wasn't sure if the menu was OK. The lovely young lady serving us went and checked in the kitchen and returned with really helpful information and alternative ways the dishes could be adapted. We had a lovely tea tonight, a smoked salmon board for me and a pork board minus the sausage roll but with ample roast ham and a bowl of fries. Of course we had the obligatory bottle of wine all for just over 50 pounds!!! Our little dog was given treats and made welcome too

Such a shame,this was a lovely place to eat when it was Holland's,now it's dark and dingy with an extremely limited menu. The menu shown here on this site and any reviews over a month old,belong to Holland's. Will definitely be giving this place a miss in the future.

Went here for a coffee , hot chocolate and some cake great cake lovely coffee however the hot chocolate could be a bit better with just a little more chocolate and to be made with milk not water

Took my son for a full English breakfast. Straight away we could tell they used good quality produce. Lovely food nice staff great setting. Highly recommend.

Always such a quiet, pleasant time at this gem of a venue! Ornate teapots, elegant flat whites, we love it here, such a treat!

Lovely little place, family run & glorious fun. Only disappointed I didn't try it sooner! I always leave with a slice of cake to eat later & it's always tasty. I recommend the brunch options but I'm biased as they are my favourite menu options Worth a visit!

Food as usual was lovely but the wait for it was not! I think if food is going to be a while it is better to tell customers when they order rather than continually having to apologise for the wait. 30 minutes is not acceptable for a sandwich I’m afraid.

Family visit for early mothers day as shift workers. Everything was 'just superb'. Spoilt for menu choice, every course delicious . Food presented well lovely temperature good portions. Great to take your own drinks, very appealing as restaurant drinks so expensive. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to visit again

Lovely atmosphere, varied menu, good food

Cheerful and friendly cafe with delicious food and a range of gins. Just the spot for a bit of lunch. We ordered the ploughman's and shakshuka and were delighted with the cakestand and homemade bread. There was just the one table outside, with room for more, so hoping they put out more tables over the summer! Dog friendly too and the lovely waitress brought out a bowl of water for our puppy.

Lovely cafe with friendly staff. Have been a few times and have always found the food really tasty and good value for money. Parking space is limited at the back but I usually park on the shopping precinct just a short walk away.

Nice little place we popped in for brunch during the coviditus pandemic. Good effective staff. Food was good, breakfast let down by naff catering quality sausages. Some good butchers sausage would have made it so much better even if it was 50p more. Can recommend Greenmount Butchers on Vernon Rd or MR Cook at Edenfield if you need a butcher!

Visit here most Saturdays. Lovely food and very friendly staff. Absolute no complaints. Love the Shakshuka..!!

Lovely Tea room and local which is extra nice. i just wish that it stayed open a little later so I could meet up with friends and very well behaved child after the school run ! Also: I need a Veggi option on the breakfast too please xx

We had breakfast here today on this very cold and fresh morning, it was wonderful to walk into a friendly and warm welcome from the ladies serving. The food was excellent and all 5 of us were served together even though we all had different items. I can’t recommend them enough and we will certainly be back. Thanks again ladies xx ☕️ 🫖

I love coming to Holland’s the food is to die for, I don’t think there’s anything that hasn’t been exceptional. Shelley and Ann always make you feel so welcome nothing is to much trouble. I have took so many friends here and they all feel the same way, can safely say will be back soon

We are lucky to have Hollands within a couple of miles from home. They serve the best cooked breakfast around. Quality bacon and sausages (clearly Butchers quality) and plum tomatoes instead of fresh are a welcome change on a breakfast. The staff are attentive and friendly and the owner is happy to chat and make you feel welcome even when taking a little family time herself before starting work she seated us and arranged menus for us to ensure we weren't waiting. Whether breakfast, lunch or just coffee and cake we've always found the quality of food excellent. All cakes are homemade and worth every penny. Little added touch of quirky teapots and china teacups makes this a place we will keep going back to.

We love this Tea Room and can't stop going back. Shelley and her mum choose the best ingredients and cook them to perfection. We always feel welcomed and are looked after from the moment we walk through the door. Breakfast is by far the best in Bury. But Lunch is unbelievable too. Try to save some space for the cakes.

The food at Holcombe Tea Room is always great so we keep going back. The ingredients are excellent and they are cooked to perfection. I can't recommend this little tea room enough. Shelley and her mum are a great team. We always feel welcomed and looked after from the moment we walk through the door. And it comes with a great a view of Holcombe Hill/Peel Tower. What more can you ask for from a village Tea Room. Keep up the good work!

This is a great local business situated on the perfect location after a ramble up the hill. Food is delicious and all home cooked. Very tasty and lots of lovely little touches. We will be back

The best place in the Bury area to have drinks and eats. Staff are extremely pleasant. Drinks and food are excellent, The décor is lovely and the outside eating area has a fantastic view of Holcombe Brook.

Amazing find today for lunch with my two kids after climbing up to Peel Tower. Food, drink and service was amazing - especially the kids juice served in mini teapots and tea cups :-). Will be back - thank you x

We had been out for a morning stroll with our dog and thought it would be nice to stop at Hollands for a spot of breakfast. But as we were ready to sit outside with our dog a young girl who worked there informed us that dogs weren't allowed couldn't really understand the issue as where the location is most people that walk around the area are dog walkers. We was approached by a leaving customer and they said you have just saved some money as the food was swimming in grease and horrible. Went a bit further on, had breakfast somewhere else WITH Our Dog!!!

I took three of my grandchildren for lunch. We hadn’t booked but they kindly squeezed us in. The food was so delicious that nothing was left, they ate it all! As a treat I bought them all a Rocky Road cake. I had the lemon drizzle. Me and the children loved everything about Hollands. Thanks for the good food and great service.

Firstly the staff: lovely and friendly. Food doesn’t take long at all to come but it’s all fresh and tasty. Holland’s is a bit of a gem and certainly with a visit. Very well priced too. Highly recommended.

Nice place, great staff, just not great for breakfast as it’s more of a brunch as doesn’t open until 10am, food then 30 mins later. Closer to lunch. Be great if opened at breakfast time

Booked the afternoon tea for 3.The service was excellent, efficient and friendly. Food was plentiful and beautifully presented. We were also given 'doggy bags' to take home what we couldn't eat.

My niece bought cream tea for my birthday on Saturday,not only did I get cream tea,I had happy birthday sang to me from someone I've never seen which was so funny, what I manage to get of the cream tea (after the lads had drives in) was so fresh clean tasting and blooming fab. Thankyou for making what would have been a very dull birthday yummy !! Ps my sister and son said they were one of the best sausage rolls they have had,and they have had many. Jane H

Owner is so rude and really quite threatening. Made a complaint and she was horrifically rude and confrontational. How you can run a business like that I’ll never know. So rude to her staff as well. Will never ever visit again, completely embarrassed herself in front of everyone.

First visit . My daughter and I had eggs benedict , done perfectly . Lovely coffee and the best service . Extremely clean , hand sanitizer on each table and I must add beautiful and quirky crockery . Can recommend to all , please support our local business’s . Will return ASAP for lunch .

My daughter booked us both in for afternoon tea on Mother’s Day. Sadly due to the Coronavirus you could only give us afternoon tea in a box. I was so impressed with the amount of lovely food, which was absolutely delicious and I can’t wait to come to the coffee shop when it opens again.

The staff are marvellous, so friendly and helpful. The food is also delicious, the sunshine soup is gorgeous. Absolutely great with kids as well. I can't wait to go back.

I couldn’t eat it all the cakes so they provided a takeaway box to take them home. Food was delicious and service was great. I would definitely recommend it and come back again!

Visited today for breakfast. Whilst I have been before it was my husband’s first visit. He had the full English breakfast and adding extra items was not a problem. I had the avocado, egg and tomato. Everything was cooked beautifully and we both cleared our plates! We have had several breakfasts locally and this is by far the best quality and certainly value for money. My husband was very impressed by the decor and cosyness of Holland’s. I will be back and look forward to trying the lunch menu and maybe a cake! The service was really good too.

There were a few tables of two that where unoccupied however the owner decided to make the point of changing the table of four that was reserved of us into a two. I found this a little strange but just brushed it off. We were then seated, not asked if we wanted a drink and left to look at the menus. After a while, a waitress came over to the table and asked if we were ready to order. I asked for the afternoon tea and was told that this was preorder only. I said that's really disappointing as when I phoned I had mentioned that we had heard good reviews about the afternoon tea but wasn't told that we had to pre-book. At this point I was confronted by the owner who snapped and said it's on the website, however, I hadn't viewed the website as I had just googled the telephone number. My Mum and I continued to discuss this at the table and decided not to stay as the atmosphere had become very uncomfortable. On the way out the owner was behind the counter and rather than just leaving I thought it would be polite to just let her know that we had decided to leave and apologised. At this point, the owner demanded that I waited while she checked who took the booking and proceed to say it was her and practically called me a liar in front of all the other customers. I tried to explain that I thought it would be a good idea if when people called to perhaps ask if they were wanting afternoon tea as if you don't know it is a pre order, like me, how do you know you ask! I say tried, as I wasn't able to get my words out as I got continually chastised in front of a room full of people and the owner walked away while I was trying to explain. I explained to the waitress what I was trying to say and said that I would leave my feedback online as I was unable to explain to the owner. We then left. Thinking this was the end of the matter and still shocked we got in the car only to see the owner coming out to the car. I thought just ignore her and she will go back inside but no knock-knock on the window. Everything was beautifully presented with vintage crockery which was certainly impressive. Mum was in her element saying it’s better than betties!! Lovely place, service and food.

I visited Holland’s today with my friend for lunch I had looked online for a menu and found a menu with only 3 things on. Don’t be fooled, the menu is extensive and the food homemade. From soups to omelettes, sandwiches and toasties to cakes, jacket potatoes plus the delicious sounding cheese scones toasted with various toppings plus some delicious sounding specials. There is also a wide selection of teas (leaves of teabags) and coffees. I had a sandwich and a cup of the mushroom and chestnut soup which was delicious and my friend had an omelette. The atmosphere was just right, the service was great and the owner very knowledgeable. We are going back in March for afternoon tea and we cannot wait. A must for those who want to support local businesses who live in the area.

Recently came here for breakfast with some friends. Found the service was awkward and slow as though there hadn’t been much training done. The owner was there with young girls working and she was awfully rude to the girls about things as simple as putting ice into a glass because she ‘wouldn’t do it that way’. It was uncomfortable to listen to and I felt sorry for the poor girls, I think she needs to train her staff up rather than wait and complain when they do something not up to her standard. My eggs came and were salty and inedible and I ordered something which came with bread on the side which I never received. Overall wouldn’t visit again and wouldn’t recommend to others.

We were 3 ladies celebrating with a birthday lunch. Three different meals ordered and all three were delicious. A very comprehensive menu to chose from. Very friendly and excellent service. If there are three or four of you book the window table and watch the world go by as you enjoy your meal. Probably best to book anyway. It's a very popular place and you'll see why. My first time but not my last!

Just popped in for a quick coffee and bacon buttie. Both were excellent. Place is nice and clean with lots of little touches that add to the experience. Staff are pleasant and attentive. Recommended.

I didn't like the service, it was very fragmented, three times we had to ask for milk for our drinks, there was no sugar brought, the food when it came was fine

Had a wonderful breakfast in this delightfully quirky Teastro. Service was friendly, food was delicious, the menu was both traditional and modern and decor was unusual, loved the cladding on the counter of drawer fronts and handles. The food which is locally sourced where possible was served on lovely mismatched china and the ambiance was perfect. Highly recommend a visit.
