Took myself here for a little ‘me’ time and I was so glad I chose this place. Really chilled feel. I sat by the window with a book and had a beautiful cappuccino (really creamy) and fogs and ricotta on toast which was a generous portion and I couldn’t eat it all! A nice little spot to people watch and I can’t wait to try other things on the menu!

Nice Cafe, Dog Friendly, Welcoming Staff, only had a coffee so no idea as to the food. Excellent Strong Coffee, we had Cappuccino priced at £3.20. My only criticism is the Cost of a Coffee in Relation to the size you get, ie you get a Cup which was Disappointing when really you’re paying the price of a large beaker as per the large coffee shops. Can never really understand why coffee given the price isn’t always served in large cups/beakers. A good idea would be a picture of the cup/beaker used alongside the price advertised.

Went in for late lunch with mum and sister. Mum had cheese on soda bread which was just a pile of overcooked bread with melted cheese - sister and I had poached eggs on soda bread. One slice of bread, two snotty undercooked eggs - all overpriced. Tea was ok. Coffee served in an orange glass - just serve it in a cup for goodness sake! Only good thing was my glass is of Chardonnay which was delicious. £27 for the privilege - and not even table service. Won’t be going again. Very disappointed and leaves a sour taste in my mouth that it cost so much and I didn’t complain.

Went today with family. We only went for a drink but the girl serving was really unfriendly and told us we only had half an hour and couldn't order food (which we werent intended) Sat down and she came over with the drink, said nothing even when we thanked her. The atmosphere was awful. Felt like just because they were closing soon we were made to feel uncomfortable Wont be returning

A very nice little cafe in Ramsbottom with a good selection of brunch and breakfast items. The food was well presented and tasted pretty good, but knocking off a point as all 4 of our poached eggs were overdone - the yokes weren't runny, but the American style bacon was tasty 👍 Overall, a nice atmosphere and they've tried to make the best of a small space, so you might feel a little cramped and close to others if all the tables are taken.

Very disappointed. My wife had been in for coffee previously and was impressed. Having looked at other reviews I can only assume others have more money than sense. We were all disappointed , my wife had a bagel as did my stepson, minuscule portions he was still hungry afterwards. I had the bacon and waffles which were quite good, except for the ice cold maple syrup poured over the hot meal. Coffee good but small servings, waited 15+ minutes for over priced not well cooked food. Won’t be going again, ever. Ramsbottom resident

Nice and cosy place but food took 25 min to arrive. 2 bacon sandwiches and salmon bagel, a bit too long in my opinion. The girl also behind the bar was a bit rude, only open her mouth to tell you how much it costs otherwise she just move her head and hands, that's what I had when I said thank you goodbye 👋 overall, not a place for me

Very intimate cafe. Coffee and turmeric latte were good and hot, however there was a choice of one cake; it was Poruguese custard tart or nothing. So I had the Portuguese custard tart which was delicious . The absence of cake stock though made the ambiance austere and the experience diminished. Savoury menu looked nice. Confusion about service (counter. V. table) could have been sorted if the staff had been more communicative and friendly, instead of just standing there trying to look cool.

TL;DR – Knowledgable and extremely friendly barista serving up top notch coffee (only tried the pour over, would rate it 10/10). I was on the hunt for a quality cup of coffee this morning and hiked all the way from Helmshore to Grind & Tamp (which is ~1hr). Was not disappointed one bit and would do it again on another day. There's an over spill of coffee shops in Rammy but this is by far the best. This place knows their stuff with the option for coffee to be made with espresso or a number of filter methods. Don't expect a quick fill. It takes a few minutes to grind beans, make coffee and if need be add milk. In my case I asked for an oat latte which was absolutely spot on.Bean quality is key for a good coffee with this place offering some decent quality roasts. Space is tight but if you can get in you're in for a quality experience.

You always get a warm welcome at Ground Up, the owner is friendly and approachable and this cafe always has a nice relaxed atmosphere. The coffee is excellent and the cakes are amongst the best in Bury. I've not tried any of the other food but some hot food is available and the toasties and sandwiches look good. They also have a pre-paid items board which you can contribute to for anyone in need of food or a hot drink without the means to pay, which I think it's a fantastic idea. It's a great cafe!
