A group of 11 of us went for the early bird. Garcia welcomed us and made us feel super at ease. Food was exceptional. Service was fun and attentive. Portions are huge. Very satisfied and keen to return soon. Thankyou Garcia and all the talented people at Gringos

The food is always amazing here - today did not disappoint. The restaurant was full and the staff were busy but the staff were super friendly and had smiles on their faces the whole time. Garcia is the coolest server around

Staff were excellent. They advised when we got there they were a little short staffed and to bear with them. They were incredible. Can’t praise Becky and Holly highly enough. They were very professional. Excellent value for money, as was there in time for the early bird. 2 mains for about £14. It is noisy due to low ceilings and being busy, so if you like a buzzing atmosphere, it’s the place to be. Could not fault it.

Stumbled upon Gringo's, The food is absolutely Sensational, Mouth Watering! The options and portion sizes are amazing, if you love good food, and Smoked Meats! this is the place to Go! GORGEOUS! The staff were all extremely hospitable and the Manager, Garcia was extremely attentive! Will certainly Revisit! :) Thankkkyou

Chilli beef nachos starter was delicious an absolute must followed by chicken burrito served with rice. All served with a smile by Holly who made our evening a pleasant experience. Definitely coming back here.

Beautiful food at a bargin price. Went on a date this Thursday for 2 for 1 and got starters and mains. The wait for starters was about 45 minutes after ordering which is a little slower than I'd of liked, however was worth the wait completelyThe bar tender "cocktail master" Garcia was absolutely accommodating and quick to serve drinks ordered, incredibly nice serviceAll together both mains and starters were made with solid ingredients and passion Will definitely become our monthly outing from this experience!! Had a very enjoyable evening when we visited on Wednesday. The food and wine were very good and all at a competitive price. Special mention to Holly and Garcia for being very friendly and making the evening even more enjoyable.

Went for a meal with a large group last thing and everything was perfect. Food was great all 7 of us had no complaints and our waitress Georgia alongside her colleagues were attentive, friendly and efficient. Thank you !!

We came for a meal last night and it was absolutely fantastic! The staff were attentive relaxed and fun, the food was incredible! The portion sizes were massive! I had the ribs and it looked like something out of the fintstones. The meat fell away from the bone and was so soft and packed with flavour. My friends got fajitas which smelt incredible and looked colourful. The steak was cooked perfectly. We squeezed in the biscoff cheesecake in at the end and it was to die for! I loved the fact it’s home made too! The food and drinks are incredibly well priced.I would definitely recommend this hidden gem

Gringos is an authentic Mexican restaurant in Huddersfield. Went for a surprise date night. The food was exquisite, we ordered a starter of nachos and the size of it you would’ve thought it was a main course! You definitely without a shadow of a doubt get your value for money here. The customer service was amazing all through the night. We decided to try an offer they have where they de tv e 2 for £10 cocktails, but these aren’t just ordinary try cocktails these are cocktails that the staff made themselves unique to gringos! We decided to try cocktail of the day, which was a pineapple old j spice cocktail with tiki fire, except the tiki fire came in a pomegranate half and was lit on fire! Tiki fire as a shot is 75% so that as well as the cocktail we got our money’s worth there as well. At the end of the night we still ended up with so much food we needed a bag to take home. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough, whether it’s for a family meal or for a couple having a nice quiet date night. Thankyou Holly and Jordan for serving us that night and making our night at gringos amazing.

Lovely vibe with amazing artwork on the walls. However the true masterpiece is the taste delivered in every mouthful here. Huge flavours and portions that truly deliver full satisfaction and more with the incredible value for money on food & drinks.

The actual restaurant is lovely and decorated beautifully. However, the food we had was poor. Rice was very dry and not very edible, the chimichangas we got were also not very flavourful, as a Mexican I was expecting something more but it was just meat that tasted almost unseasoned. Out side dishes also arrived 10 minutes after the rest of our food after reminding twice.Another note is that behind us all we could here was bickering amongst the staff and felt quite bad for the new staff member who was been spoken to so rudely.Overall we had a nice time out together but wouldn’t return for the food.

Absolutely gorgeous food- best Mexican in England I’ve ever had however, super loud music makes it impossible to hear staff especially during these times with their masks on and it’s a squeeze as well to sit comfortably. The food was 10/10 which is what’s important but not good for socialising also there is one toilet for each gender so you have to Q for that.

Family get together to celebrate mums and brothers birthdays. 1st visit for them to gringos after myself and my daughter recommended. As usual food was first class. A huge thank you to Polly and Beth who served us, nothing was too much trouble.

Amazing place. Fantastic atmosphere and friendly and efficient staff. No one leaves here hungry, the portions are very generous. We felt very safe as they were following all the covid safety precautions. We also picked up a takeout menu for date nights when we can’t get out. Thanks for a great night.

Atmosphere is nice, looks proper cute and authentic inside but the food is a BIG disappointment. When I go for Mexican I expect beautiful flavours of jalapeño, coriander, lime, avo, sour cream - not carrots and baby corn that I had in my vegetarian chimichanga. Food was like some kind of English version of Mexican food. Jalapeño poppers were not homemade, just frozen, overcooked and not spicy at all. Shame that kitchen is not run properly as this place could have a lot of potential!

We had a booking for 8pm at Gringos and when we turned up there was another couple in front of us waiting to be seated. While we were waiting we could see about 5 people stood at the bar, none wearing face masks and multiple staff members none wearing face masks although some had them around their chin. The restaurant was packed and the tables were extremely close together so that when people were sat down the back of their chair was touching the chair of the person sat behind them. While we were waiting to be seated people were having to push past the queue we were in to get to their tables or go to the toilet. Eventually the couple in front of us were spoken to and told their booked table wasn't ready yet and to wait at the already crowded bar. We waited an additional 5 minutes but weren't acknowledged by staff members and decided to leave as the place clearly wasn't following COVID-19 restrictions, the tables were all too close together, people were stood at the bar when no one should be, staff weren't wearing face masks and weren't requiring customers to when moving around the restaurant. There was no qr code for the COVID-19 app but there was a book with a pen that people were writing their name in on entry - this was the only attempt at any COVID-19 regulations we could see.We were upset to leave as we have had food from Gringos in the past and loved it, but I am writing this review to let the restaurant know our experience and other potential guests to know the adherence to COVID-19 regulations here before they visit.

Enjoyed our meal at gringos but I didn't think it was anything spectacular, I had burritos and my other half had enchiladas. Drinks nice and you get plenty. Would return to try other dishes.

This was our first meal out since lockdown and it was a great experience from start to finish, drinks came quickly and starters and mains followed on in the same fashion but never felt rushed. The staff were excellent and very attentive. Will return soon

Me and my girlfriend came here and can hands down say the whole experience was absolutely amazing! The portion size is MASSIVE and sooooo good, we worked our way through most of the cocktails and every single one we had brilliant, every single staff member went above and beyond. We had such a great experience here and would recommend it to everyone!

Ordered for 6.45. Food eventually came out at 7.20pm with a rushed apology (no refund) Food was cold when I arrived home (5 mjns away) Really poor service and food this time. A slide in standards...

Ordered threw Deliveroo but the food was top notch and big portions. Will definitely be booking a visit in person when this pandemic is all over and things are norm again!

My boyfriend and I had Gringos takeaway this evening and the food and service was fantastic. We had a chicken burrito, pulled pork enchilada, swine fries and meat feast nachos. Every single thing was cooked perfectly and really tasty. I must say that the portions were massive and so a lot will be saved for supper later. The service from Holly was great.

Ordered a collection meal Friday at 6pm and was charged eating in price , with no reduction for take away service . Food was great but take away meal for 3 people at a cost £46 is excessive . Come on Gringos at least offer a take away discount !

We visited here on a Friday night, after living in Huddersfield for 2 years we didn’t even know it existed. Well we have definitely missed out on 2 years worth of Mexican food. We both had the cheesy nachos to start we debated getting a large portion but glad we didn’t as the regular was huge!! For our mains we had the tender beef strip burrito and the 3 cheese and onion burrito, both incredible the beef was tender and not chewy at all and the 3 cheese was full of vegetables. The service was great very attentive and always checking everything was okay or if we needed more drinks!! Can’t wait to return!!

We've been going to Gringos for 10 years. Always been great service. Holly and Natalie make a great team. Holly makes a great sangria. Ribs are amazing! The meat falls of the bone and the sauce is amazing. My partner always gets a spicy lamb burrito and he says its excellent. Always stuffed when we've finished.

Ive been here a few times and it never dissapoints. The food is so tasty and you get decent sized portions for a decent price. Usually when it comes to smoked meats, places overcharge and you dont get much but not at gringos. They're awesome. Id recommend the quesadilla and the pulled pork nachos

Staff were friendly, it was clean enough and given the current pandemic, there was a nice atmosphere. Took a while to receive the drinks and then the food followed pretty swiftly. I didn’t enjoy mine at all. The ribs were nice. The wings didn’t taste of anything. Those were the starters. The mains....The wedges were frozen and just fried and the burrito filling was covered in a sweet glaze. My partner had the quesadilla and the meat was the same. Couldn’t taste anything but the sweet thing they had put with it. I didn’t eat any. We won’t be going back.

We have visited Gringo’s many times and are never disappointed. The chilli beef nachos and chimichanga are amongst our favourites. Great food, great service, great 2 for 1 offer on early bird. We’ll be back very soon!! :)

We went to Gringos for the Eat out to Help out. The food was fantastic and so was the service. We couldn’t fault anything about it apart from I had to wait for my side order which was missed off the order but I wasn’t too bothered as I had my meal to tackle and was plenty of it so was nice.The thing that made our experience average instead of a 5 star was that we was charged £1.50 for cordial and water as you didn’t do fruitshoot or anything suitable for a toddler so had to pour into a sippy cup but £1.50 for a shot of cordial.Then to top it off the children’s meal was not partOf the EOTHO SCHEME which we have been going somewhere everyweek to do our bit for local businesses and this is the only place that has told us this nonsense so in the end my partners classic burger was cheap than a child’s burger, so if told before hand I could of ordered my daughter a classic burger instead of a children’s burger and actually got it cheaper. On the government website it doesn’t say anything about discriminating against children’s meal so therefore we should of gotten the discount on everyone in our party of £10 per head.

Visited here in August during lockdown restrictions. Staff all wearing masks or visors and hand sanitiser available at the entrance.The restaurant was busy due to the 50% off incentive, but despite this the staff were very efficient and helpful, promptly taking drinks and food orders without delay.The food was fantastic, so tasty and generous portions. Staff taking care to ask if there is anything else they can do for you during the meal.Great atmosphere, people being careful to try and remain 1+ metre away. It was quite noisy, which may be an issue for people with hearing problems, but it didn't bother us.Well worth a visit.

Visited during the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme. Felt very comfortable being inside due to temperature check on arrival and contact details being recorded. Tables spaced out so not overcrowded at all. The food was as fantastic as I remembered and with discount presents incredible value for money. Attentive but not intrusive waiting staff - especially Holly. All in all , a great experience and one I plan to repeat soon. Highly recommended.

During this lockdown Gringos are delivering food via Uber Eats - I scheduled a delivery for 8:30 to 9pm but the food arrived at 7:40pm - I was informed on the website its time of arrival so phoned the driver to say it was coming too early. I phoned Gringos but they said it was nothing to do with them I must have ordered wrongly - I asked to speak to the manager but got verbal abuse from him. Avoid at all cost - no customer service whatsoever!

My partner and I have just had a take away from Gringos, chicken enchiladas and spicy lamb chimichanga and it was amazing as usual. Trying to support our local businesses In these difficult times. We will definitely get one again if the government let eateries stay open during the pandemonium! One of the the portions was also gluten free.

We went on a Friday night and as we hadn’t booked a table we were given about an hour before they needed to turn our table. This wasn’t a problem for us as we were only planning to have one course. We’re we’re ready to order pretty quickly. Somebody came over to take our drinks order but then we had to wait again for somebody to take our food order. Food came pretty quickly. I went for the Meat Feast Burrito and my husband had a burger. Both were good but the frozen wedges were disappointing. Wasn’t too keen on the Mac & Cheese balls either. Only problems we had were that the menus were all sticky and it was very noisy. There were plenty of big groups in there so as a couple it was quite difficult to hear each other across the table.

The food was amazing, great portion sizes and didn't have to wait long. The drinks were really good too and not too expensive for cocktails. Atmosphere was great and the waitress and waiter were very attentive and friendly. We had such a great time will definitely be back.

Booked for a party the seating arrangements were terrible people trapped in a corner to move or get out 8 others had to move out of there seats. The seat behind us were touching to many seat crammed in to a small area. The food was not great just about edible some was dry and others were cold and we waited nearly 2 hours after ordering to get served. The alcohol was very expensive too.One really noticeable was out side at Gringoes bar next door youths threatened people in our party who went outside to smoke they threatened to scratch a car and when told off came back with a knife. The bouncers weren’t interested there was a strong smell of weed been smoked it was reported to the police but again nothing will be done until someone dies. It should be closed down for underage drinking. This was a really bad experience for our party AVIOD at all cost other better options are out there.

What a great eating spot, been here two to 3 times now and it’s never ever failed to impress. We was a party of 12 this evening . The service was brilliant, well mannered staff. The food was very good and extremely large portions very good value for money . House smoked meats we was lucky enough to see the smoker in action this evening boasting a mouth watering hickory smell. Would highly recommend Gringos for any occasion . Staff are very child friendly ! If I could rate it more than 5stars I certainly would. Thanks again to the Gringos team!

Gringos, is exactly what you expect from a Mexican restaurant, I am of the opinion Mexican food, in general, has the feeling of fast food, and hence cannot really be exceptional/very good. Gringos therefore met with my expectations and I was neither thrilled nor disappointed, I would go again for pre-match grub

Visited Gringos at 6pm on a Saturday. Our party of 8 were really well looked after and the food was fabulous. A real bonus that the meals were 2 for 1 before 6:30.

I always visit when my son is home from Uni, it has been his favourite restaurant since he was little. We took his girlfriend for her first visit and she loved it as much as my son. We will probably back in March with extended family for a meal for his 21st like we did for his 18th. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming and the food portions are generous and tasty and well cooked and presented

The food did not taste like authentic Mexican food, but it was extremely good! The staff were all friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Ate here last night with my husband amazing food I ordered the ‘big meat one’ wasn’t sure if I’d manage it all but I did. The ribs are to die for and the piri piri chicken just fell off the bone. My husband had the quesadillas which he said were as yummy as always. Looking forward to our next visit.

Walked in without booking on an early Saturday evening. They were very accommodating. Got an hours slot which was fine. Starters brought out with mains, qualified for 2 for 1 due to time. We found the starters to be good and the mains below par.

We booked in advance and ordered 2 different fajitas on 2-4-1. They forgot I ordered pulled pork but I told them and it was quickly rectified. The restaurant is really cool, slightly dark. The fajitas were gorgeous and the cinnamon icecream was tasty. Would definitely come again with Mexican food lovers.

Had an enjoyable dining experience at Gringos. I stumbled across it on the internet last night as we were meeting friends from Manchester and wanted to meet in the middle from Leeds. The service was excellent and the food was lovely. The staff catered brilliantly for the 4 young kids and were knowledgeable about the food they were serving. I have been countless times over many years and have never ever been disappointed.The food is amazing, the staff are great and the service is just so friendly and welcoming.If you havent been and are looking for something new, you will not be disappointed and more than likely will become addicted. The staff kindly let us in at 8pm although this is their closing time on a Sunday. The service was efficient rather than rushed, even though we were the last people in. I had not been here for may years and was impressed by the way their smoked meat now makes them stand out from other Mexican restaurants. We shared a plate of tasty nachos and then tried burrito and quesadilla. Both were very generous portions. The salad with one was nicely presented and the wedges that accompanied the other were well cooked.

We both went with our niece and nephew for lunch. The service was great and the food was lovely at the time (if a bit quick on coming out), we even left a tip. 2 hours later and I was really ill. I have now been off work for two weeks. The doctor has officially diagnosed me with food poisoning and I am now looking to another week off work. We think it was the chicken, my husband only had a taste and he felt sick for a week.

We visited here yesterday for a late lunch. It was pretty quiet so we were sat down straight away. Need not have booked a table in hindsight! Guess it isn't too busy on a Sunday.

We were utterly dissatisfied with the service at this restaurant. When we arrived the staff gave my family a dirty table in which had food on from prior diners. We didn't make a fuss and just used own tissues to clear table and chairs bearing in mind we had 3 adults and two children under 5. It was extremely quiet and only had one other table occupied. We asked the asked the waitress prior to ordering if we could order from the 2-4-1 section as it says for booked tables only and we didn't. She assured us this was fine therefore as we only wanted a quick snack we ordered 4 starters and 3 sides. Firstly the 'manager' brought out a meat dish and we asked for vegetarian, therefore had a further wait. The children didn't enjoy the food and left it. When asking for the bill the manager charged full price for all dishes saying the other people would have ordered mains therefore didn't honour the 2-4-1 and kept saying 'manager's discretion' which is totally unreasonable. The restaurant was extremely quiet and an the menu clearly stated 2-4-1 along with waitress assuring us this was fine yet the manager couldn't recognise this flaw and honour the deal. In a previous review response to my sister he said people brought own drinks. My 5 year old nephew brought an empty slush cup he wanted to keep from the swimming baths. Therefore before commenting should get facts correct. The manager was extremely rude to my family and we didn't feel a valued as customers. Overall we wil not be attending this restaurant again and will definitely not reccomend this to our friends and family. Appalling service from the manager, very unprofessional. Table service is excellent. Staff are really attentive & friendly. Food didnt take long to come & the food was really nice. Didnt have any mexican options, so cant comment on that but i would eat here again.

My partner and I have just been for an alternative Sunday lunch. I have eaten here before a couple of years ago and remember it was good, but today the food was excellent. We both had a burrito - I had the chicken and my partner had the pulled pork. Both were really tasty, bursting with flavour and lots of meat. I had a side of guacamole, which was chunky, tasty and homemade. The service was great, although it was quiet, but the staff were very helpful and welcoming. I will be back again very soon!

We arrived early at 4pm and were told to vacate by 5.30pm which we did not mind. Firstly the order came out wrong, we are all vegetarian and a chicken dish arrived. Secondly when paying the bill, the manager Ian stated they could not honour the 241 deal on starters and we had ordered 4 (1 each) despite checking with the waitress prior to ordering. I think if your staff agree that 241 applies you have to honour this! This is misleading and the menu did not say this excluded starters otherwise we may have ordered something from the non early bird 241 menu which we preferred. The manager lated apologised but still charged full amounts, I advise staff be clear with customers and on the menu as this isn't right. Pls note I rarely make any kind of review but feel this is warranted.

We went here tonight for a surprise 30th birthday. Firstly we couldnt see that there were beers on draft so we had CANS from the fridge....£4.50 for a can of strongbow and £5 for a bottle of recorderling. Then we learnt about the 3 lagers on draft.....within an hour they had sold out of 2 of them. Absolutely scandalous that they are charging that amount for cans that theyve probably bought from tescos across the road. We wont be coming back here to be ripped 9ff again

We were in Huddersfield for the night and fancied eating something different to what we usually eat found Gringo's online so decided to try it wasn't disappointed absolutely fantastic place really busy as it was Saturday night very noisy but in a friendly way

Considering I have 2 kids vegan and vegetarian, and 2 kids that are allergic to everything under the sun the different menus accommodated us very well. Will 100% recommend to groups and families the ombiance is great. The cocktail of the week Malibu passion breeze was lush!!

Big thank you to all the staff last friday!!! Me and my boyfriend gave Gringo’s a visit after recommendations and i can’t believe we haven’t visited this place sooner! We had the BBQ 1/2 chicken and fries and the meat was falling off the bone and the cookie dough dessert was delicious.

Went to gringo's on Friday as a family of 5, all I can say is wow! Amazing staff, waited on by Nat, demi and Ian. Fast service and presented with a smile. As for the food. Huge portions, great price and 2 4 1, what not to love, will deffo visit again!!!

Amazing Meal, great for price and the menu was filled with many options. Very friendly staff and minimum waiting times. I most enjoyed my meal with my family and they say the same. Will come back again soon

Fab place fab food fab staff went with a group of work friends arrived half an hour before our booking so had some drinks ks at the bar the member of staff who served us was polite courteous and quick then we were shown to our table and ordered our starters there was 12 of us in total all starters came out promptly at same time staff cleared up and then brought mains all was cooked lovely just as asked extremly tasty hot and filling the waitress who looked after us all couldn't do enough for us even the manager came over to check everything was satisfactory and exactly what we wanted will now bring family and friends and make it a regular thing

Came here last night. Wow! We were waited on by Ryneek and other friendly staff. Excellent service and even better food. Drinks came almost instantly after ordered and then followed the food. Fantastic 2 for 1 offer all week too and 2 for 2 cocktails!

Came here with some friends before a night out and we all left very impressed. 2-4-1 deal made it the perfect price, plus the food was delicious, i had the halloumi fries for starter and chicken burger for main!! Staff were very welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble, will definitely be coming back again.

Had a table of 12 booked for my daughter’s 18th, Amazing food with big portions as well as a menu full of different choices you’ll never not be satisfied, Such friendly and polite staff with a smile always on there faces ready for a laugh with customers. Already got another table booked back next week!!

As a family of 4 we try and come here at least once a month, and last Friday night was amazing as always. They have started doing a burger of the week and the newest one I had was honestly amazing, the Double Donut burger, real Krispy Kremes donuts, juciy thick burger, I really hope it’s here to stay.

the whole family went to gringos for my cousins birthday, there was 12 people and non of them were disappointed. food portions are massive and good value for money. also the cocktail of the week was one of the best!!! we all left full and happy. will deffo be coming back :)

Went with my partner for birthday treat and as I like mex food the restaurant was busy but the staff were helpful and efficient and the food was delicious will deffo go back

Very very disappointed. Served me a chicken main course when I ordered a vegetarian dish. Very slow to change my meal, left me waiting for at least 10minutes until everyone else had almost finished their meals. Then they refused to remove my meal from the bill. My PREGNANT friend also sent her burger back twice as it was raw in the middle and they still didn't cook it right. The justification i got for not refunding my meal was poor and frankly offensive (that includes the poor facebook reply..).

Went to Gringos for the first time with some friends for a birthday meal and it was the nicest Mexican I've had in a long time. The food was quick to arrive and was hot and super tasty. There was lots of choice on the menu and all nine of us loved what we ordered and will definitely be planning to go back. The prices and overall value for money was great (slightly expensive for students but well worth it to save!) and the staff were helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this to anybody who's looking for an enjoyable meal out in Huddersfield.

Visited over the weekend with friends. Lovely food, great atmosphere, chilled environment. Would recommend for a relaxed night out.

Not disappointed, new Gringo's menu is fantastic, great choice, excellent value for money, food devine and as always fab service. New seating in the function room is much more inviting and such an improvement. As always, well done Gringo's.

Food overall was really good, but unfortunately let down by the slow front of house service and staff that clearly didn't want to be there, topped off by £1.50 for a very small pot of BBQ sauce!

Such great casting food this was a memorable meal- has the pork chemichanga with rice and beans. So so good. Staff super helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to come back
