GrillHouse 303 in South Somerset

We have been to this lovely place a few times now and love the quality and quantity of their food, all dished up with great service. This time we stopped off for breakfast and then headed to the haynes motor museum and when we finished there, we made our way back down again for our lunch/dinner at this wonderfull place. WE LOOK FOREWARD TO OUR NEXT VISIT. KEEP UP THE HARD GREAT WORK.

Fantastic vegetarian breakfast, very tasty. Efficient friendly service, definitely returning again next time we’re on the 303.

Amazing customer service, everyone is happy, friendly and helpful. The food is good value for money. A great place for families and a hang over cure for all. Big portions and fresh. 100% would recommend to anyone passing

We stopped at this location whilst on the way home from our holiday, as we both needed a rest break. We wanted to visit the sandwich bar next door but despite the sign saying open it was closed. So we decided to go American instead, we ordered from the touch screens which gives you a lot of options and you can see pictures of the food. I ordered a waffle with fruit no ice cream my partner ordered a cheese and bacon burger with milkshake. The restaurant was very busy and clearly a hit with the locals, you can eat in or takeaway we chose to takeaway. The staff are friendly and it appeared clean, receiving our food was a short wait as it is cooked fresh, we went to our car to eat and this is where it is not so positive. Cons - Burger when bitten into was oozing fat out of it, also not cooked very well as it was still pink in the middle. The chips were over salted and the milkshake lacked flavour. My fruit waffle had clearly been heated in the microwave it also lacked flavour and was soggy, it looked lovely but was a let down. I don’t recommend this location if your driving past keep driving and find somewhere else.

my son and best mate love this place and visited again on saturday and the whole experiance was superb as usual. fast service, good amount of food, very tasty and very well presented. the restaraunt was very clean as usual and the staff very nice, well worth the drive from grotty southampton. cant wait to go back again in a few weeks. its a pity there is not a sign about a mile before you come to it as its easy to miss and we only discovered this gem by chance when getting fuel at the petrol station. keep up the great service.

love this place, the staff are freindly the food plentiful and excellent quality. looking foreward to going back this saturday. anybody leaving a bad review about this great place are either liers or nutters as we have been here many times and never had any reason to say anything negative. keep up the great work.

The place was not busy, which was surprising The menu looked very reasonable priced, was not expecting very much But what a surprise big juicy, full of flavoured burgers and crisp chips Much better than the Burger King we tried to get into as very busy Would definitely go again

We should have known as soon as we walked in three staff stood chatting. No other customers ladies out of order. Cold coffee. The girl said the machine is always like that. The bacon sandwich was warmed up grey bacon cooked in burger fat. Cheap white bread. Not even cut so you could eat it. We had a takeaway so we couldn’t go back and complain. Dreadful do t stop

This establishment should have a 5 star rating. Nothing was to much trouble and the service was first class. The food was faultless and I can't remember the last time I left a place completely happy. In the words of Arnie.... I'll be back! Just fantastic 👏

Have been calling in here a few times in the last couple of months due to having to drive to Surrey to see our mum who is 90 and poorly. We have the small breakfast which is really good and a decent mug of tea. Used to use Cartgate but this is going to be our regular now on our trips up and down from Plymouth. Lovely lady who served us. Cafe very clean and presentable. Thankyou for a well cooked decent size small breakfast. Will be seeing you soon.

I've passed the Grillhouse on A303 just after Cartgate roundabout many times and never bothered too call in. What a mistake. This afternoon my wife and I were peckish so we called in on way home. The restraunt is clean and welcoming,decor very American diner but tasteful, the food is fantastic, service is better than many 5 star restraunts I've been in. Taste and quantity is superb. 2 meals with wine for £20. I hope the prices don't increase as it is excellent value for money. Would I recommend the grillhouse, hell yes!! I think there's many locals who haven't been in for food, you really must. Good on site parking,kiddies play area. Takeaway also available. 5+ stars for everything and -20 stars for my diet. But worth it.

We were heading up the A303 after work and choices are fairly limited unless you're after McDonalds or Burger Kings - we came across this and although we drove past it first, spun around and tried it out. Very friendly atmosphere, staff were great and food was fantastic - and very good value! Delicious chicken and beef burgers and the chips were also really good!

We came across the Grill House recently on a journey through from Cornwall, the place served good food at very reasonable prices with friendly helpful staff employed there. The cost of a breakfast for two of us was very reasonable and the quality was more than adequate. If you want to enjoy a decent breakfast and support a local business give these guys a try. Much better than the standard fast food breakfast type places that seem to be on most of the services and retail areas serving fairly typical meals. The place was also really interesting to be in and clean!

This place can easily the missed, you need to keep your eyes peeled for a large Shell garage on the left as the access is through the forecourt. Once off the main road the Grillhouse is easy to spot. It has its own large carpark and access is up a few steps. Once inside you are greeted with a very tidy, very clean American styled diner with friendly staff, a well priced and varied menu and plenty of seating to choose from....not like some other places on this route. We had a medium breakfast and for just £2 you can get a drink and choice of toast or hash browns. My son had the American deli sub, again an extra £2 got him fries and a soft refillable drink. All in really tasty food, great value and nicely styled American theme, not overly in your face like a local tourist trap just up the road! Stop here if you want to have a great experience that's my advice.
