Usual poor food hygiene whilst handling both food and money with bare hands One person wearing gloves but using same to handle money and rolls Three of the staff always pick rolls using serviette so where the manager training the others Certainly no training in food cross contamination and guessing Greggs are not customer focused as I’ve left many reviews but never a reply!

The team and their manager work tirelessly in busy periods getting food to their customers very quickly with a friendly manner sometimes in challenging conditions. The food is delicious and I don’t have a bad word to say. Keep up the service everyone at Greggs Newmarket!

I only have a had a takeaway breakfast and was extremely disappointed. The bacon roll and a coffee looked like great value. The coffee was OK at best, but the bacon tasted like it had been microwaved for 4 hours and thrown in a squashed roll. I quite like their sausage rolls but will avoid the breakfast deal in the future.

The price is amazing for the quality of the food. The staff in there are also very friendly. I go there often and always enjoy it.

Honestly didn’t expect much from a Greggs but crumbs underneath every table and on every seat? Stains on the tables? VAT charge to sit in but still given the takeaway bags and cups... How about retrain standards for this branch rather than refurbishing it every year.

Stopped here to grab a quick sandwich with the removal van I was in. Never been to a Greggs before and apparently this is new to the area. We turned up and parked in the spaces provided. As we got out of the van we noticed all the rubbish strewn all over the car park area, full up dustbins over spilling, nobody emptying them or keeping this new area clean and tidy. I went into Greggs and I wanted to try their new vegetarian sausage roll. The told me I would have to wait 20 minutes as none had been prepared. There was very little food out, and virtually nothing for vegetarians. I was shocked. There was one man serving and another person floating around in the background. The place was not busy yet I waited a good ten minutes to be served. I ended up buying a packet of crisps and a pasta. I mentioned the rubbish to the man in Greggs who said it was not his responsibility. I told him the car park was full of rubbish blowing and the dustbins needed emptying. He didn't care and shrugged his shoulders, telling me he will try but probably won't have time to do it. There are no toilets in the shop you have to use toilets in the next shop which was either a Costa coffee place or a Starbucks. I popped in there to use the toilet and the whole restaurant smelt of urine. How people could sit there and eat their food breathing in urine and toilet smell was beyond me. The toilets were repulsive. A horrible experience. I called Greggs Head Office up when I got back to my house and explained what I had seen and the reaction I received from their staff. The girl apologised and said she would pass my comments on. I have never been back so I do not know if this area is cleaner and kept in a better state.

Went here for a brew and bite to eat , sat in , firstly all the tables was covered in trays of rubbish and empty cups from previous patrons , few clear tables was all sticky and floor sticky , was fairly busy , slow service . Went to use the facilities , the pan seat was half hanging off the bowl , toilets smelt fairly bummy , this place is crying out for a deep clean and a regular cleaner .

Went into Greggs in Newmarket this morning and was greeted with a GRUNT!!! I’ve never seen someone so miserable serving a member of public!! She was extremely RUDE! Didn’t even make the effort to even try to crack a smile! I was over friendly with my please and thank you’s thinking I might get something back but NO!! It was politeness to even try I guess!! She really needs some training In costumer service or get a job where she doesn't have dealings with the public!! I hope the manager sees this and deals with the female member of staff with Dark hair and an upside down Name badge! I’ve never posted on TripAdvisor before but this really really wound me up!!

Can never complain about the food these places serve but stopped here for an afternoon tea and pretty disappointed it came in a paper cup. Tables had not been cleared or wiped and lots of food remnants on the floor. Bad choice coming in here.

A little hungry whilst weekending in this area, this large Greggs seemed like our rumbling stomach's saviour. I am quite familiar with Greggs and made my requests to my hubby and son, I was in for a bit of a surprise upon their return. No hot pasties and none of my fave Greggs sweets. It has some nice outdoor seating but who wants that for a cold pasty! Although we enjoyed what we had, the choices available were limited and we left a little disappointed.

Good place for a really good priced coffee and whatever! Newly refurbished and staff are lovely. If in Newmarket pop in and have a coffee or whatever and see for yourself. Also do a loyalty card which you get stamped on each visit if you buy a drink and then you get a free drink when full.

this my third review of greggs of Newmarket. Its getting worse, I have heard lots if bad things said. The bacon is overcooked, the sausages are raw. And the staff forgetting to give the customers their food. So I went in to get some bacon rolls before I went to work.Thinking, it cant be that bad. But they, had no bagettes or proper rolls. I know its not the staffs fault. But what has happened to the place.???

Greggs has reopened after 3 weeks re-fit, looks really good. good to see the old staff back. We have missed them. Food good as usual , only thing is they are only using take-away cups and no plates. I suppose it is what the future is going to be.

My Dad loves Greggs sausage rolls and he made me go to Greggs this week for a spot of fine dinning. But really everyone loves Greggs hot tea and pastry sometimes is all you want. The cafe was clean the staff attentive and although i would have liked to have gone for a lunch where the ketchup is not in a plastic sachers the visit was very present surprisingly so and I think we will be back .

It is suffering from a general lack of staff resulting in the tables being covered in used crockery. The food range has been greatly reduced so the choice is practically zer. The place was not great even before being taken over by Greggs but over the last few months it seems to be on a steep decline.

Wanted a coffee and a toasted sandwich/ordinary sandwich but they had no bread at 2.30pm so couldn't make any. I couldn't believe what I was hearing-i'd wrongly assumed they'd have a batch of fresh bread on the go pretty much all day- they are open until 5/5.30pm. The staff were neither friendly or helpful. We had a coffee, a tea and 1 hot sausage roll and looked for somewhere clean to sit down. We were the only customers and everywhere was dirty. Later whilst we were there an assistant swept up, sweeping round the furniture! even after it didn't look clean. I used the toilet upstairs and the stair-handrail was horrid and awfully sticky, all sorts of dirt and paper on the stairs floor. In the ladies toilet there was so much white plaster dust off the walls all over the floor and bin. All in all not a nice experience, we've used Greggs in many towns regularly but think this one lets the chain down badly. There are plenty of other coffee shops in Newmarket now, so we will try them out next time.

The Newmarket Greggs on the High Street is typical of the chain. It has a takeaway section to the left (facing the shop) and a sit down section to the right. While the bakery has a selection of breads, rolls, and pastry it seems to do a brisk business in pasties, sausage rolls and sandwiches, as well. I find Greggs' coffee rather average (and with a Caffe Nero and a Starbucks across the street not the main draw of this venue), but the pasties and slices are tasty and along with the occasional sweet treat the shop is good for a grab and go. I have had Greggs' cheese and bean slice, and they also have pizza by the slice as an option. Both offer something for a vegetarian. This is not fine dining, but it is a filling lunch or snack when on the go.

I use the Newmarket branch of Greggs on a fairly regular basis when meeting up with my daughter for lunch. Like all Greggs you can get a nice hot savoury along with a good selection of pastries with tea or coffee and all for a reasonable price in fairly decent surroundings. Unfortunately, what lets this particular branch down is the state of the furnishings although my last visit was in June and it's possible it may have been replaced - but I doubt it! (See Photo's - when I'm allowed to upload) I find it hard to believe they do not make enough profit to maintain it to a reasonable standard which is a shame as it really lets the place down.

What we had was good, however, according to the Blackboard the meat was Beef, Chicken, or Gammon. Unless you are known to Chef, after we had eaten he came and offered two guests LAMB.. I will attach a picture of our ‘Large’ portions. That is unless you are known to chef, then your portion is considerably larger. Note, the small flat piece of Yorkshire pudding, or at least I think that’s what it is supposed to be. Four, yes four sprouts, I actually asked our lovely waitress if she were sure that these were large portions. Note one slice of parsnip, one slice of sweet potato, that mushed up white stuff is cauliflower cheese and sloppy broccoli. I made my issues known, it’s simply not good enough to give preferential treatment to regulars, unfortunately we are local and were just out for a Sunday lunch. Like I said what we had was nice, and graciously and politely served, but if you know chef you will get larger, large portions. Don’t go here if you don’t know chef.
