Greggs in St Albans

Great little place , we have been to their branch in Crouch end and today found this little gem for lunch whilst in harpenden.. they never disappoint. The pasta was gorgeous and the parmigiana is a must ! Great service and a super friendly team !

Great food and the waitress was truly amazing, nothing was too much. So a big thanks to Alida and the rest of the team for a wonderful dinner!

Fantastic food, great service for a family get together of 14 of us. Love the variety and atmosphere of the venue. Highly recommend!

As a family of 4 we had dinner on the last Wednesday of the month which is the steak night. I’ve heard lots of good things about the food and a comment that it’s nearing a Michelin star. The food was very good but not amazing and nowhere near Michelin standard in my opinion. We were offered pink or well done for our steak and when I asked if this was medium the waitress said yes. It was cooked medium rare which is fine for me but I had a wife and 2 children that would have preferred it cooked for a few mins more. I’m unsure why it can’t be cooked to the diners taste, nor why the staff aren’t aware of how it’s going to be served. The main observation is that the staff are friendly and relaxed but need more training. The above as an example and in addition no one took our coats but I then witnessed other tables being offered this. My paper napkin was dropped on the floor and then handed back to me rather than giving me a new one, water wasn’t poured for us and lastly one waiter in particular lacked any real knowledge of how to correctly serve or clear plates. Overall I was expecting better and it sadly underdelivered on a special occasion. It was expensive for what it was and I really hoped it was going to impress me.

Amazing food, intimate atmosphere, would highly recommend.
