A ladies meet-up, first since 2019 due to Covid-19, and for two of us a first outing, having been in lockdown for 15 months. We were made to feel safe with our window table, we were greeted and looked after throughout by very attentive staff, Stuey ensuring we had everything we needed. Now to the tea itself, well... It looked stunning served on tall, 3 tier, cake stands. Bottom tier sandwiches, very dainty and 4 varieties each... Middle tier cakes, 3 mouthwatering varieties each... Top shelf of course the scones, jam and clotted cream - prompting the usual conversation of jam or cream top or bottom... All accompanied with a pot of tea each, mine was Earl Grey. I can not recommend it enough, but to top it off it was excellent value too!

Last year we went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was excellent so we decided to return. The food was average, bits were lukewarm. Mushroom risotto looked like lumpy wall paper paste! The staff were fine, but main waitress/manager not overly friendly, in fact a bit grumpy. Drinks took a long time to arrive When we asked about the flavour ice creams there were the waitress said she needed to check and came back with strawberry, vanilla and chocolate, not very exciting. Overall it was disappointing, finer points missing Won't be rushing back

The waitresses looked shabby. The glasses and the butter dish were dirty. We had to pay the full amount in advance and pre order, still the food was not good, the bread rolls were stale, the duck starter was cold, dry and tasteless. the fish was overcooked and dry and the deserts were dry and looked as if they had been plated up early in the morning. We have lived just up the road from this restaurant for 23 years and it has been up and down, at the moment it is definitely down.

Once the vegetables had been put on our table we didn't see a waitress's until we had finished our meal....we had to eat our roast beef without horseradish!! My husband and I went last Saturday lunch time to check out the restaurant for an upcoming anniversary. The staff were very efficient and helpful. The food was hot , very nicely presented and cooked. It was our wedding anniversary on Saturday, so we booked a table at Green's for a special meal. We had a drink in the bar first, which has lovely views out across the beautiful golf course, before we were taken to our table by the very friendly and attentive waiter. It was our first visit for a while, and we had forgotten just how beautiful the restaurant is inside, with its mix of purples and greens. The atmosphere is always relaxing in there. For starters we went for the tomato and basil soup, and the mushrooms on brioche toast with a poached egg. The soup was excellent and could not be faulted. The mushrooms on toast was nice, although my one tiny gripe would be that the poached egg was overdone and was not runny. A runny egg spilling out over the rest of the dish would have really elevated it.For mains we had the filet mignon and the chicken with bubble and squeak. Both dishes were superb. The steak was the most tender I have ever tasted, and was cooked to a perfect medium to well done as requested. The chicken was very tasty, on top of a very good bubble and squeak and served with a nice mustard suace. For puddings we had a chocolate and raspberry tart, and a fruits of the forest cheesecake. Both were absolutely delicious.Green's is a perfect place for a relaxing, special meal, and we liked the fact that the service was not at all rushed, with plenty of time between courses. The waiter service was excellent throughout our visit.Highly recommended. (If you sign up for the VIP card scheme, you get 10% off of your food bill, making it even better value than it already is).

We often eat out on a Sunday and I have to say that we will not be going back here again. It was a plate of food without any taste what so ever. We realised it was too late to move on and had to eat what we consider a very unpleasant meal. Although Sirloin, it was bland and the potatoes and veg were much the same. The gravy was like washing up water with no flavour at all. The place was busy and we had to wonder why as it really fell well below our standards for Sunday Lunch. We used to go a lot before it was taken over and was always nice and good value. The lady on front of house was lovely and we rembered her from before. We ask to pay for one course and drinks. We were charged £9.95 plus drinks. My husband said his pint was dreadful and asked why they were unable to just put on one "real ale" on tap. All in all we shall be making sure we do not eat here again as we know there are several pubs near by who do a fab. Sunday lunch.

We are regular visitors to the Greens Restaurant since we, as a family, find the food, atmosphere and service to be of such an exceptionally high standard. When looking for a venue for our son's 21st birthday party we had no hesitation in selecting the Greens and were not disappointed with the outcome. From the very beginning Dana, the Events Co-ordinator, was involved in ensuring that the evening went as smoothly as possible, and we found her input, and flexible approach to be both refreshing and extremely helpful. We were provided with a discreet room for 20 people which looked out on to the golf course, and were allocated a personal waiter for the evening.Place names were provided and set out as agreed and a bespoke menu created for the occasion which was identified as "Sam's 21st Birthday Menu".We provided banners and table decorations which Michelle used to decorate the room, and the birthday cake was prepared and ceremoniously carried in by her at the end of the evening.Guests entered reception and made their way in via a red carpet which had been specially arranged and were greeted with either Prosecco or orange juice according to their preference.Dinner was ordered from a very varied and appetising menu which had been created by Dana in conjunction with ourselves and the Greens chef, which on the night was in the person of Paul who did a fantastic job inn preparing all the courses on time and served piping hot and fresh to the table by Karl and MIchelle. Each guest's needs were very ably catered for by the extremely attentive and efficient Karl and Michelle who were always at hand when needed and provided a seamless waiter service during the whole evening which helped to create a very happy party atmosphere. The event lasted from 6.00pm to about 10.45 but seemed to fly by.We have to thank the staff who were involved in the planning and execution of the event since they helped to make the party extremely happy and memorable. We award the Greens 10 for planning, 10 for flexibility, 10 for food, 10 for service and 10 for value for money since the occasion was provided at an extremely competitive price..The Greens is a unique family run business which provides an extremely high standard of food and service and we thoroughly recommend it to anyone who is looking for high quality food with first class service and extremely relaxing and upmarket surroundings and decor. If you want something special then visit the Greens restaurant. We have always enjoyed a wonderful eating experience there and wish to thank all the staff including Dana, Michelle, Paul and Karl and also a big thank you to Stacey who is part owner and who always makes a point of speaking to us whenever possible.

Booked Greens restaurant for our family of 13 Christmas day lunch. On arrival we were shown to our seats and before we were all sat down the first course was being served. My first course was soup and this was quite nice. The main course was awful the veg were barely cooked apart from the roast potatoes, they were dry and burnt I couldn't even cut them with my knife and fork and everything was just about luke warm, thankfully christmas pudding and custard to follow was better. Several members of our party were waiting for at least 10 minutes for their food after some of us were served and the food was virtually thrown down in front of us. Apart from one young female member of staff the rest of the staff that served our table were unfriendly and unprofessional. One elderly female member of staff looked like she was attending a funeral I didn't see her smile once during the entire afternoon. I will certainly not be returning to Greens again, thank you for spoiling a very expensive Christmas day !

Good service underpins a good restaurant and Greens have it right. The waitress, waiters and maître de asked me a number of times if everything was okay and were prepared to change anything that was not or offer an alternative. That is good service. The food is satisfactory, not top notch, but it is a golf club when all is said and done and golfers seem to prefer hearty food rather than sophisticated dishes. For an evening out at a reasonable price then Greens is a good choice.

Dear Stacie, Dana and Ollie and chefWe have eaten at the Greens Restaurant twice this year, the first occasion being my son's 20th birthday. On both occasions we were impressed, not only with the general decor and ambience of the restaurant, but also with the excellent service and meticulous attention to detail which made the experience so special. From the impressive driveway and entrance, with the ample car parking, to the luxurious and spacious dining area which looks out on to the actual golf course, the restaurant oozes class. The staff had prepared a table for my son's birthday which included decorations which we had supplied, and created a real party atmosphere which was sustained throughout a very long lunch. The second visit on 13th February was marked by a snowstorm which only served to enhance the picturesque golf course scene to which we were greeted on entering the dining area. At one point a fox strolled languidly across the course and helped to add to the general cosy, and almost Christmassy, feel of the occasion. We were welcomed by Dana who was courtesy and warmth personified, and she introduced us to Ollie our waiter for the afternoon. The food was, as promised, both appetising and plentiful and was, quite clearly, freshly cooked. From starter to main course and finally suite, the meal was tasty, well cooked and, without a doubt, the best restaurant fare whIch I have ever experienced. The chef even went to the trouble of cooking a fruit crumble for us, which was not in fact on the menu, but which he produced after we requested it when booking the table. Our waiter for the afternoon was most informative and personable, with a very easy and natural manner, which helped to set the tone for the meal and gave a special meaning to the term service.I have no hesitation in recommending the Greens to anyone since it is, without doubt, the best restaurant which I have ever visited and I will be sure to repeat the experience many times over. Well done all staff at the restaurant for making this such an enjoyable experience and may the business continue for many more years.Barry, Rashy and Sam PowneyDudley

It was the Friday before Christmas !!!!! Decided to give Greens Restaurant a whirl as we thought the atmosphere should be pretty good . Bit disappointed although must say that the guy that greeted us was very nice and helpful ...he deserves a Xmas bonus ! The decor was superb 10 out of 10 for that one , a bit different to the bread rolls we were served which we sent straight back as you could have played football with them . Meal was OK although apart from the veg everything else was not very warm ........and that includes the room .....lovely and warm when we went in but they must have turned the central heating off half way through as it went decidedly chilly and with very few people in there it did not help . Another small point , no mint chocs with the coffee but I do think as we were the last table there , the background music was turned off and got a feeling we were expected to go .Toilet facilities were so in adequate for the size of the place and considering there was a party night going on in the function room and one toilet was not working it was a bit chaotic . Nicely decorated place , food OK, but lots of other better places to re visit .

We went back to Green's last night for the first time in a while to celebrate my birthday. The first thing to say is that the new decor is absolutely beautiful - purples and reds throughout, which really make the place feel special. We were quickly seated by the waiting staff, who were superb throughout. The food was wonderful. We started with the black pudding with 'breakfast salad', and a chicken and leek terrine. Both were great. The salad with the terrine was perfectly matched, and the accompaniments with the black pudding were a great idea - morsels of bacon, sausage and egg with some green leaves. For mains we had the fillet steak with chunky chips, and the pork belly with apple and date sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the chips were heavenly. The pork belly though, was the dish of the evening. Packed with flavour, and with a beautiful herby mash potato. We also had some truly gorgeous creamy garlic mushrooms. I had the strawberry cheesecake to finish.Overall a brilliant dining experience. Lovely surroundings, fantastic food, good value, and great waiting staff. Would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere for a special meal.

Booked last minute for an early Saturday evening treat for my mother in law. Staff were a bit MIA at the outset dealing with a wedding party but after an initial 'where is everyone' 10 minutes, it all settled down nicely. Food is an excellent standard with plenty of variety and mains come with a fantastic fresh selection of veg thats included in the price (and not a £2-3 extra like some naughty places insist). We overate as portion sizes are not mingy so be prepared. Its a shame so few people were there as the restaurant has a lovely outlook over the final (18th) tee and the place isn't overrun with golfing types - so give it a go!

Although the food was of a high standard it just couldn't make up for the poor service we had there. I was treating my mum to lunch, we were stuck at a table in front of a cupboard, which would have been fine if multiple waitresses hadn't gone into the cupboard to get out cloths and kept asking my mum to move! After about the third time we did complain, and it stopped, but it shouldn't of happened in the first place! We had to also remind a waitress about drinks we had ordered, and desert took forever! It's not somewhere we would go back to again. After hearing about Greens we were looking forward to a great lunch but were highly let down!

It's lovely to find a place in the countryside that is more "upmarket restaurant" than "pub" - the current owners of Wharton park have gone out of their way to create a stylish, accessible restaurant with friendly but efficient service.FoodWe ate Sunday lunch here (£16.95 per head for a full three course meal) and the food was excellent. I had a starter of cajun chicken with mint yoghurt which came to the table very quickly and was very nice - just the right level of spice. The beef main course was some of the best I've had for a while - lovely and tender and full of flavour. The vegetable selection was extensive (two choices of potato and lots of greens) all buttered to just the right level. We didn't have room for pudding, but the selection looked great.ServiceThe service is friendly and very quick. We didn't wait long for food and the staff were very attentive - we were greeted warmly as we made our way in. There was a good ratio of staff to diners, which meant things worked very smoothly during our visit.SettingGreens restaurant is located in Wharton Park golf club - the entrance to which is off the roundabout at the top of the Bewdley bypass. The full impact of the wonderful setting doesn't hit you until you arrive in the restaurant - lovely far reaching views over the stunning golf course complete with lakes and lovely tree lined avenues. Golf isn't my thing - but this is a setting to please anyone, whether or not you're into golf. It's a hidden gem.AtmosphereI was a little nervous about eating in a golf club - it's not somewhere I'd normally consider through fear of being an outsider and it being full of golfers and golf talk. Surprisingly the restaurant mainly caters for non-members and the general public so although it's located at a golf club it you wouldn't know it. The atmosphere was great - lots of families enjoying sociable sunday lunches and a few celebrations too. It had a real bustling vibe to it.Bedrooms After our lunch we were lucky enough to be shown the new guest bedrooms - the owners have recently converted a large upstairs area into seven lovely bedrooms. The bedrooms are very good - unlike anything I have ever seen in a small hotel - fitted out like a Malmaison hotel with very stylish fittings, wet rooms and complete with flat screen TVs and air conditioning. The owners must have spent a fortune and these bedrooms are a credit to that vision. They look like true 4 or 5* standard and I am now desperately thinking of a reason to stay there, despite living just up the road :-)

What a little gem! you must visit! we have been several times for various occasions, including Sunday just gone for Easter & the food was & always has been of an amazing standard! plus good value & good choice & I am a fussy so en so! (the best beef ever & best cooked veg in a restaurant in a long time!) The service is excellent & the staff are warm, friendly & can't do enough for you. We came for my mom & dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary last year also & it's great in the summer too as you can sit out on the decking which over looks the beautiful golf course, great views. We also viewed the new boutique bedrooms & they are SO stunning, you would just want to stay in them 'just because'. All in all, a great place, really great food, staff & location. We are going back again in June for mom & dad's 70th birthdays & I can't wait that I am going to book Sunday lunch again soon. I would say try it for yourself, you will be pleased, it's a brilliant place!

Took a friend here for dinner. We were a bit wary of recent reviews, but found nothing to complain about. The service was excellent and the food was very good. Have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant. We would ceryainly go again.

Have just taken my mother and my family for mothering day Sunday lunch, At Greens resturant at wharton park, And am fumming the service was beyond bad, the food was cold and far to under cooked, the attitude of the management was unbelivable, Shame on you, you ruined my families day.You have no right to call yourself a resturant, Never again.

Excellent Valentines Day menu - me and my girlfriend really enjoyed the food, as well as the reasonable prices for drinks and a bottle of wine. The ambience was fantastic, the pianist really added some character to the background. For a table of two, we were given a generous sized table, which only added to the value of the overall night. The newly refurbished interior is delightful, and I will certainly be recommending the restaurant.

The new decor is really good but the food was just a bit lacking. The choice was ok but the meat was tasteless. My brother in law is a big eater and the portions were quite small. I am not a big eater but found that after a sunday lunch I ate an evening meal as I was hungry. Was just average. We had to keep getting our own drinks as the waitresses did not ask if we wanted more.

we were the only people in the restaurant so the atmosphere was non existant.

It was a cold wet day but there was no heating and the restaurant was extremely cold. My wife and I discussed whether or not to remove our coats we were so cold.

The service was fine but my wife had to send her Tiramasu back because the topping was like dense rubber apparently it had too much gelatine in it. It was replaced without question.

The food generally was acceptable but not outstanding and I have paid less for better.

Generally a poor overall experience and one not to be repeated

Excellent food and service. The bar is not as smart as the restaurant but I believe this is going to be refurbished. At the top end of my budget (£10-20 for a main) but value for money. Drinks are a little expensive.

Excellent restaurant, easy access and parking (very important in Georgian Bewdley); good food without pretentious nonsense, friendly and accommodating staff. Maitre d welcoming and efficient. Ideal family Sunday lunch venue - but good for special dinner too.

Greens restaurant is certainly beautifully decorated, but the food does not quite live up to expectations. The menu is varied, which is a good thing, but the quality was lacking. Its just little things really, my husband ordered a selection of ice cream for desert, it would have been nice if this had been homemade or even good quality locally produced ice cream. Also, my sister in law ordered strawberry cheesecake and it would have been gorgeous if it had had fresh strawberries on (which are in season!) rather than tinned ones. However the service was good, if a little impersonal, with a few tweaks Greens could become an unmissable place to eat.

Lovely setting, food and service. The price is pretty comparable to other places nearby but much better quality of food and service. Would definitely return.

Arrived for Sunday lunch and was met by Jerome, who made us feel very welcome. The menu was extensive and choice of wines expertly explained. The meal and service by the staff was first class, we took coffee on the terrace later and looked over the beautiful golf course and surroundings. The restaurant has been refurbished to a very high standard indeed and well worth a visit.A perfect way to spend a special day. Thank you.

Our second visit. They have a small dog-friendly section, we had our dog with us. We were celebrating a family birthday. The reasonably priced roast dinner buffet is excellent, favourites at our table were the gammon and venison. There is a host of delicious vegetable side dishes. The price included a dessert which the menu tells us was taken at the table. There is an option to purchase a kids roast dinner which we recommend for children, we had two teens. However, we waited a considerable amount of time, well over a half hour for this. When we found someone to enquire the young lady (we had enquired twice) assured us that it would be sorted. All the desserts were good, my only comment was that the Eton Mess was considerably lacking in meringues a very tiny amount, I asked if there was additional meringue that could be added but the young lady insisted that I already had some. All things considered well worth it, we drive neatly 40 min to enjoy it - local parks and dog walks make it a lovely afternoon out.

We came here for a meal to celebrate a family birthday. There was something on the menu to please everyone, including our fussy six year old. Portion sizes were spot on and everything was cooked to perfection. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, even when busy; getting the balance between making sure we were attended to and leaving us to enjoy our meal just right. We would definitely recommend and will be coming back again to try more from the menu!
