Tuve un increíble sándwich tostado de tomate, queso y pesto sin gluten: se lo recomendaría al 100% a cualquiera que busque opciones sin gluten, ya que también había muchos pasteles sin gluten disponibles. A large plate of really good, crisp, fresh salad leaves with plenty of chicken, mozzarella, olives, cucumber, tomato & a generous splodge of excellent pesto was under £6. Others had paninis with side salad, all of this delicious. Order on arrival and sit upstairs in small but nice rooms with art on the walls.

It's possible to nip out of the Ashmolean and up St Giles for an inexpensive sandwich or cake, if the culture gets to much! My cream tea (scone, jam, cream, tea) was good value, though the scone was slightly disappointing, being a bit solid. Upstairs there are a number of seats, and alw2ays a good supply of leaflets about what's happening in Oxford.

Stopped in for coffee and cake. Lots of fairly samey flapjack and shortbread choices on offer. I had an average sponge, supposedly a rice cake. My husband asked the cashier which cake he personally preferred and got a rude, impatient response. Upstairs in the seating area, it was practically empty yet every table needed a wipe down. The mismatched furniture crammed in everywhere is pretty unappealing too. There seemed to be at least four staff downstairs, some yelling at eachother, yet no one free to clean up. I won't be returning to Green's - it was an underwhelming experience.

We called in here for breakfast one Sunday morning, surprised there is a lot to choose from on the menu which is good, however mine was disappointing. I ordered porridge and it was just oats swamped in milk with a few measly slices of banana. My boyfriend on the other hand enjoyed his sandwich.

Looked like a nice quality/laid back cafe, but actually more of a greasy spoon in terms of food. (Don’t get me wrong, I love a greasy spoon, but not when it’s dressed up as something else). Disappointing cooked brekkie, which was mostly just a massive plate of baked beans. Floppy warm sliced bread instead of toast, 2 tiny cherry toms, 4 tiny cubes of cooked potato etc. Coffee fine. I agree with the bad reviews here, and TBH if i had read these first, wouldn’t have gone.

I have been here twice in the last month and won’t go back. The first time I had a panini which was dry and boring. The second time I had the walnut, watercress and apple salad which was a huge disappointment. No watercress, bruised apple, three olives, dry leaves with no dressing and a tiny grating of Parmesan, all for just under £6! The main reason I won’t go back though is because the place is filthy. Food was nice, tea was as one would expect, staff friendly, however the mug which was served to my sister was very unhygienic looking all round the rim of the mug, she returned it to them in exchanged for another, which was fine and the waiter said he would immediately throw the offending mug away. The cakes looked delicious, but we managed to resist as we had already had our daily intake of sugar. On leaving we looked for the Food Hygiene Agencies rating sticker which should be prominently displayed, alas there wasn’t one to be seen either on the door or in the window, however on visiting the agencies Web Site they were awarded on the previous inspection (2016) a score of 3 out of 5 (Satisfactory). The settings are great in the centre of Oxford and the building is very interesting, but that is where the positive experience ended. The food was stale. Both the bagel and the cake tasted like leftovers from at least a day, possibly longer ago. The Thai salad was nothing more than the cheapest salad, covered with defrosted cheap shrimps, small slivers of avocado (hardly 1/4 of an avocado) and then doused in way too much cheap sweet chili sauce. Sorry, that is not a Thai salad to me. The toilets looked like they hadn't been properly cleaned for a year. The place was packed, so must be very popular, but I would avoid this place if you are after good food.

Greens is situated near the Eagle and Child pub (of Tolkien and CS Lewis fame) on St Giles which is in the heart of Oxford. Tick. It has an ordering area downstairs and seating upstairs. It's rustic and a bit higgledy piggledy but this adds to its charm. The walls have loads of information about upcoming events in Oxford which all creates a shabby chic atmosphere. This is all well and good, but... We went there for Saturday morning breakfast and it was clear the place hadn't been cleaned properly in a while. Litter on the floor and tables needing a good wash. Our English breakfast was okay except for two things. They included potatoes (not very traditional but I'll live with that). The potatoes hadn't been cleaned. They had clearly began to sprout and you could see the spouts charred through the cooking. There was also a hair in the meal. It's okay but ought to be brilliant. There are certainly better places to eat in Oxford and I'll be going to these from now on.

Living just around the corner from Green's, I'm a regular customer at the cafe. The service is always friendly, reliable, and efficient, and the food quality is superb. I can afford to eat here regularly on a student budget, which tells you all you need to know about the prices. On one occasion, I purchased a couple of things to take away for lunch, but the card machine stopped working when I came to pay. Resetting it didn't work, and it became clear that it wasn't going to be easily fixable. Despite my offer to leave the food and run and grab some cash, the staff insisted that I had my lunch on them. I'd only been waiting for ten minutes in total (perfectly reasonable given that some of my meal had to be cooked from scratch), but they were adamant that I have it for free. This experience is indicative of the customer focused service that the cafe provides, and I will happily continue supporting Green's with my business. Would definitely recommend!

Me and my partner popped into this cafe and from the outside it looked respectable enough. Inside the shop display was well presented, with a large selection of cakes and well written calk boards with smoothies, coffee etc.We chose to eat in, which involved going up some extremely steep stairs, tight too. This was ok when we visited, as it wasn't too busy, but with the milk/sugar etc at the top of the stairs landing, could cause a problem when busy. The upstairs space, though small, was adequate for us, as there was plenty of space, but the choice of decoration on the walls, bright colours, large number of advertising posters, wasn't too appealing. It was nice to see that there was free wi-fi and a bookshelf, where you could borrow a book and sit and enjoy reading for a time. There was a old teabag on the windowsill near us, which had been missed by the staff, but otherwise the tables were clear, so you didn't feel surrounded by mess.I felt it was quite expensive for what we had. A £2 brownie which was a thin rectangle, it had a pleasant taste. My partner had a breakfast sandwich, which he enjoyed, very well filled and a side salad.A plus was the lady who served us, who was very nice, friendly and served us quickly.

I love this little cafe; friendly staff, lots of quirky rooms, good coffee, and excellent fast wifi. A great place to chat, have lunch, drink coffee, work, or just relax - especially if you can get one of the comfy sofas upstairs!

Good coffee, a nice selection of sweet pastries, savory filled rolls and a big English breakfast with a huge lake of baked beans.Free wi-fi worked well!Only problem for some people might be the narrow twisty stairs up to the seating area. There is a perfectly adequate toilet (unisex) on the way into the kitchen - useful in case one wanted to spend the whole morning in here working on some great scholarly project!

Found this little gem quite by chance on a day trip to Oxford. The iced mochas were perfect and very refreshing. There was a huge selection of fresh cakes as well, the mincemeat shortbread comes highly recommended by my husband.

Perfect place for quick snack, takeaway coffee or even for couple of hours resting. Great obviously fresh meals, with great taste and seasoning. Design is very simple and that makes it even better. Probably one of my most favourite spots in Oxford. Many thanks to smile and helpful staff as well

We've visited Green's quite a few times over the last three or so years, and I have to say standards are steadily slipping while competitors are gradually improving - so it'd be a good idea to do something about it before it's too late. The food used to be exceptionally good and fantastic value. Now, it's just fairly cheap for fairly decent fodder. In addition, the last couple of times we've found the place to be distinctly lacking in cleanliness - uncleared tables, bits on the floor, dirty seats even. I really hope you guys turn it around and put the love back into what you do.

Green's is an oasis of tranquillity in a very busy part of Oxford. The coffee and savoury snacks are first-rate and the cakes are a taste of heaven. The building is characterful and the business is well managed and staffed by friendly people who provide an impeccable service. Even the view from the windows is great. Oh .. and I have now been patronising it for six months and can vouch for the consistency of the service and the fare!

A good range of budget meals, with many vegan and veggie options, as well as standard fare. Seating upstairs. Long queues at the counter mean you need to be prepared to wait to get your order taken, and again before it gets served. But I thought it was worth it. If you are likely to want a pud (there are some good cakes and flapjacks) then best to buy at the same time. Standing on the queue at the counter for a second time is not recommended!

A student from the US, I studied at Oxford for a semester, and Green's was the place I frequented the most! The food is fresh, the coconut/caramel lattes are delicious (my own creation), and the cafe is in a great location! The menu offers ethically produced products that are both organic and fair trade, and this cafe is one of a kind, unlike chain stores such as Taylor's and Costa. Although I was satisfied with my order, perhaps the main thing that kept me returning to Green's throughout my time in Oxford was the kindness of the employees and the subtle friendship that formed. I highly recommend stopping in to Green's Cafe!

We have been coming here once or twice a month for years, The coffee is the main survivor of quality, the carrot cake seems to be getting cheaper ingredients, the smoked Salmon bagel is defiantly getting short on Salmon. The female service on Monday was very grim, and as others have pointed out, they seem to have given up on general hygiene. Such a shame to let a little gold mine like this go down, guess we will give Mortons another go, maybe they have learn't how to make good coffee.

Lunch meal and the place was busy. We just found a table upstairs before they were all in use. My chicken and avocado baguette was too dry. The bread was great but there was too little avocado and no real moisture. Wife had the butternut soup. We both though it tasted much closer to split pea. Nothing was bad, just not to our liking.

NEWI have been here a couple of times as friends thought - organic - should be nice.... the ordering system is very odd, no menu so it is difficult to know what is on offer. But my main problem is the place is FILTHY! Upstairs where you can go and sit is sticky, crunchy and generally feels as if it has never had a good clean. The tables and chairs are bad enough but the floor and WALLS are really, really grotty. Why do the owners think that organic means they don't have to have it clean? Wonder what the environmental health would make of it......

Thought we'd try somewhere different on our annual pilgrimage to Oxford. Had morning coffee and cake and enjoyed it so much we returned for lunch. Again it was excellent. We will be back next year.

Боже, я не знаю, из чего они делают кофе, но это было ужасно! Соевое кофе на соевом молоке, соевый сахар. Не рекомендую. Рекомендую только туалет - он у них атмосферный. Собстно, ради него и пришлось купить там кофе.

Cakes were good and very quiet so a good place to get away from tourists. Unfortunately, the whole grain 'healthy' sandwich advertised turned out to be a sad white bread affair.

A couple of years ago this was one of my favourite places for breakfast in Oxford, but I was disappointed when I returned recently. The coffee is nice but the cooked food wasn't particularly special, and the scrambled egg was overdone. The location is nice and the building itself is lovely, although the free wifi was not working during either of my recent visits.

Yep, another day trip to Oxford having been introduced to Knoops last December. A range from 34% to 80% this time. Three out of four excellent. The 80% was rather disappointing, probably down to the fact that it was vegan ( had not spotted that) such that different milk was used and possibly more water. Will concentrate on the 70% for our next visit. Blueberry slices and Pain au Chocolat both fabulous. And great service. Hayling Seagoon

Actually, we had a number of dinners & breakfast during the 5 days in Oxford. The quality of food and service was superb! The level of cuisine is quite high -- especially the Tagine -- not to miss.

Extremely inefficient staff. Very very slow service at an off-peak time. Seems the two staff on shift are either clearly trainee or just clueless. The girl keeps hiding when one or two people walk in. Customers walking out!!
