Carvery was absolutely delicious! So much to choose from all of it looking very fresh! Had a little chat with the chef Jamie, what a pleasure he was he’s a great asset to the team! Will 100% be back!

Had a wonderful tasty carvery today. The food was delicious I can’t recommend it enough. The restaurant was very clean the seating comfortable the staff amazing very helpful Altogether a lovely enjoyable afternoon with friends

Went with a visiting friend as a treat. It was pretty empty when we arrived which meant it was lovely and quiet.We both had a carvery which looked as though it had been there for a while. We were served quickly and the (minimal) staff were friendly. The food tasted ok but was spoilt by being just- about-warm which cooled down quickly so the meal quickly became cold. The food was very dry from where it has been sitting underneath the heat bulbs. Not the treat we had hoped for.

This place has been going down hill for a while. Last time we came we swore it was the last. Given that it had been 12 months we decided to give it another go. Wait for food was longer than expected. When it did come the presentation was hilarious. We’d order 4 sides that were supposed to come with the mains. They came as starters - meaning the kids were in for a wait for their meals. The 4 sides were each sat in a dessert bowl plonked on top of a handful of anaemic iceberg. Chicken bites were each about the size of a king prawn. They were almost impossible to bite into. They had either been sat on a hot plate for hours and dried out or had been microwaved to the point they were as tough as beef jerky. Pizzas came and they were a mess. I understand that they’re stone baked but they look awful and weren’t even cut properly. Philly cheese steak pizza was basically a margearita with some rough red onion on it, some cheese sauce and the “steak” looked more like pulled pork and was completely tasteless. The place was filthy. Particularly the area near the carvery. Considering it was approaching 7pm on a Saturday night it looked like the floor hadn’t been brushed all day. Granted it looked as though they were short staffed. But I paid the fully staffed price and received short staffed food short staffed service and short staffed presentation in a short staffed environment. AVOID!

My husband and I are part of a local Parkinson Group and on the last Friday each month we go to the Greenhills for a club lunch. It is great food with a very good and friendly staff who see to our special needs.

Thought I’d treat the family for Sunday lunch give me a day off the cooking we all ate from the carvery I had pork for a change it was gorgeous thank

The Greenhills were able to accommodate our (approx 30+ of us) family meal at very short notice at the weekend after the place we'd booked in at had a power failure. Judith was amazing and really helpful, cutting the cake for us, wrapping pieces up, fixing the balloon string...... absolute star! Really very much appreciated. Will definitely be back

Another perfect carvery. The whole team make this place a very enjoyable place to eat. Ang, Siobhan, Lidia and Jack not only give you a very friendly welcome and service but share their knowledge about deserts and drinks to get. James and Sachin in the kitchen cooked up the best carvery and veg selection. The food not only looked delicious but the taste was spot on. Would defo recommend here on a cold winter night when you need a night off from cooking.

Worst carvery i have ever tasted. Very bland and poor quality of food. Wont be returning in the future.

I went there on a sunday night had a cavery there was hardly none left so he went to get more meat they only had gammon left they served the bit of turkey they had left getting it from the sides it was disgusting so they had no potatoes no gravy veg was so dry why wouldnt they say cavery was finished they happlily take your money but dont say theres hardly nothing left never again will i ever go there again

I decided for a Sunday lunch to go to my local pub Greenhills Stonehouse pizza and carvery. I was surprised to see a table with a sign saying 'please wait to he seated.' The last time I came here, you just walked in and selected a table to sit at. I was addressed then by a lady who asked me if I had booked. Again I think the look of shock on my face said it all. I politely informed I hadn't and was shown to a table in the corner. I was then told to go to the bar or to use the QR barcode. I promptly went to the bar znd ordered the carvery and was asked if I wanted pigs in blankets. I then requested a large glass of wine and was then presented with bill. £18 and so many pence. I couldn't believe I was being charged so much for a one course meal which was laid already. I could have had a starter and main course from the menu and that would have only cost £15 (minus the drink). I then went and fetched my overpriced carvery. I realised quickly that as I was diary intolerant there was a limited range of food from which I could choose from. Cauliflower cheese, peas drizzled with butter and mashed potatoes cooked with milk. So on my plate 4 slivers of meat with 4 pigs in blankets (which I had to pay extra for), roast potatoes, carrots and stuffing. Accompanied by gravy and mint sauce. Quite nice dinner but halfway through distracted by a incessant phone ringing...twice. The only interaction from any staff, who were hovering round tables, was when I had finished. No attentive service 'Is everything OK for you?' 'Can I get you anything else?' 'Is your food OK?'. A disappointing visit and one I will seriously rethink if I was deciding on Sunday lunch again.

Very busy. Staff doing their best to clear tables but looked like carnage! Decor dated and faded making the place feel grubby Carvery just messy. UnderStaffed and not interested ran out of some meats st 4pm just shrugged. Veg overdone and the area so messy by customers overloaded plates. I attended a Christmas lunch along with 16 others and was very impressed. The staff were attentive and friendly and even though we hadn't pre ordered the service was quick. Two of us had the carvery. I ordered a starter which, when it arrived my partner had eaten her way through most of her carvery. We both agreed that the meal tasted good but it was not very hot, which would have made it that much better.My partner ordered a sweet and mentioned the lack of heat in the meal. Her chocolate cake with chocolate sauce and ice cream arrived. It had obviously been microwaved and the sauce was going hard. What could have been a reasonable meal was spoilt by the two points mentioned.

Booked well in advance of date dad so looking forward to evening table for 20 of the family for 6.30 pm. We received a phone call at 5.45 pm to say that there was only 2 Joints of meat available on the menu when we get there. To late to cancel as our family members were on their way travelling from various destinations such as Southport, Cronton etc. When we got there the manageress informed us there was no BEEF!! On the menu. She said that beef was not the popular choice on the menu that gammon and turkey was? Extremely disappointing evening! The carvery meal was stale! it must have been lying there for quite some time. The roast potatoes were to say mushy!!Felt so sorry for dads 89th birthday! Will never ever go back again !!! Food APPALLING!!

Go The Greenhills a lot with family and extened family for family occassions, we have had so many birthday parties and get togethers here over the years, and always have a fantastic time. What makes it a great family venue is the choice of food, they seem to have everything for every age group and taste, so everyone gets what they like or fancy. We will be back there again at the beginning of September for a family 40th, can't wait.

I can honestly say this was one of the worst restaurants I have been to in a long time. I am 58 years of age and enjoy dining out regularly. The highlight of my week is often a Sunday carvery with my husband, daughter and young grandsons. Not on this occasion.

El personal del bar bien, el chef bien, el lugar estaba vacío en comparación con las visitas anteriores. En carvery noté que el chef quitó 2 platos, ya que estaban sucios. Nos pasaron un plato cada uno y el fondo de ellos estaba sucio, se notaba. Me dieron carne de res y gammon, con budines de Yorkshire y salsa vegetariana. Fue horrible. No visite hasta que decidan servir pendientes decentes

Very disappointed with the meal, small portion and the veg appeared to be of the frozen variety, by the time I got it home, most of it was lukewarm, I live 3 minutes away. The takeaway used to be great, it’s changed from the customer choosing the portion to the staff choosing, I won’t be returning

No me gustan las cebollas, aunque no es una alergia. Me quejé al gerente de que la única salsa que acompañaba mi comida de asado era la salsa de cebolla. Mientras que ella era buena para elegir una alternativa para mí, insistió en que el menú siempre había sido así. Esa es una mentira total. He estado en ese restaurante docenas de veces, la más reciente fue en 2019, y no hay manera de que haya contemplado comer una comida con salsa de cebolla. Una disculpa me hubiera ido bien, pero en lugar de eso me hicieron mentiroso o lunático.

Fui a tomar el té después de estar en el parque el Viernes Santo, gran error. Esta fue la primera y última visita para todos nosotros, comida ordenada pero sin explicación de la configuración, luego nos dimos cuenta de que no conseguimos todas las bebidas que habíamos pagado. This place has really improved after the refurbishment. Nice layout, friendly staff. It's good that if ordering food like burgers or fish you can then help yourself to the various potatoes, vegetables, beans, etc. Also good that they've got Real Ale serving.

Fuimos por el regalo de cumpleaños de mi hija. Tengo que decir que el asador no era bueno en absoluto. El pavo estaba muy seco. Parecía más como un pavo enrollado y la carne no era tan grande. No todo parecía fresco, las verduras estaban cocinadas. sabía como verduras congeladas, las patatas no estaba bien tampoco. definitivamente no perderé mi dinero y el tiempo allí de nuevo arruinó la comida de cumpleaños de mi hija.

I had the carverey, the meat was fine, vegetables however were dried out. Been cooked far too early and kept warm under the heating elements. The roast potatoes were solid and only warm.
